Chapter 10- We Can Work It Out
It had been over a month since Snape's attack on James and Sirius was furious with Snape he wanted revenge for his best friend on Snape who had almost killed his best friend. James however, was not too keen on revenge even though he was the one attacked he felt that revenge wasn't necessary and they should just leave Snape alone. Even though James had told Sirius that he wasn't looking for revenge for what Snape had done to him Sirius still wanted to get revenge for James and set a plan to give Snape what he deserved.
Sirius walked down to the dungeons and confronted Snape even though Sirius wanted to hex Snape into the next 80 years Sirius had an even better punishment for Snape.
"Snape" Sirius yelled
"What do you want Black." Snape said
"you want to know what we're doing on the nights of the full moon go to the whomping Willow and hit the knot on the tree and you'll find out what's under there." Sirius told Snape and with that he left.
It was the night of the full moon and Sirius was especially feeling good as Snape was going to get what he deserved tonight. James thought that it was weird that Sirius was so happy he had never been this happy about spending a night with werewolf who would beat you around during all the hours of the night. James knew something was up with Sirius, but he decided not to elaborate on it and just continue on with his day.
It was an hour before sunset and Peter, Sirius, and James were all getting ready to go to the whomping willow to help Remus with his transformation. Sirius was still very happy, and this was unusual so James was very curious why Sirius was so happy.
"What's got you in such a happy state Sirius?" James asked
"I told Snivellus to go to the whomping willow and told him how to get in." Sirius said proudly
"You did What?" James yelled
"I told him how to get into the whomping willow" Sirius repeated again.
"I can't believe you did that how could you betray Remus's trust like that?" James questioned Sirius but, before Sirius could respond James had already left the common room and was heading to the whomping willow.
It was nearly sundown by the time that James got to the whomping willow he found that it was already immobilized so James quickly went down into the tunnel and found Snape there but before he could call out to Snape he heard a loud howl and he knew that Remus had just finished his transformation he had to get out with Snape before Remus made them both into his midnight snack.
"Snape run" James yelled
It took no time for Snape to run to the exit while James held off Remus once Snape had left the whomping willow James was able to change into a stag and hold off Remus. James left the whomping willow in the morning with the most injuries that he had ever suffered in one night however, Snape was at large of telling the entire school what Remus was.
Snape followed Sirius's tip to go to the whomping willow and how to immobilize it Snape had reached the tunnel and when he reached the end of the tunnel he heard a wolf howl and at that moment Snape knew that he was in trouble he was so shocked in fear that he couldn't move until James had yelled at him to run and with that Snape ran as fast as he could back to the castle. He had every intent on telling everyone at Hogwarts what Remus was but before he got back to his common room he was stopped by Dumbledore.
It had been two weeks since the Snape incident Dumbledore made sure that Remus's secret was safe and made Snape not tell anyone. Everything was not sunshine and roses however, with the marauders as they started to ignore Sirius because he had done the most unforgiveable thing humanly possible in the rest of the marauder's eyes.
It was killing Sirius that the rest of the marauders were ignoring him even though they shared the same dorm room still they still kept on ignoring Sirius and he couldn't take it anymore so he came up with a plan to apologize to them.
James, Remus, and Peter all returned from dinner and headed up to their dorms when they got there Sirius started to sing.

"I am so sorry for what I did to betray your trust please can we just work it out" Sirius pleaded
"I suppose we can work it out Padfoot" James and Remus responded.
