"C-Cook... f-for you guys?"
As much as Tooru hated the idea of going to his twin for help, he didn't have much of a choice. He received an elbow from Iwa-chan which caused him to grumble under his breath. "Our regular cook can't come since her son's at the hospital. We couldn't find someone else to replace her in such a short notice."
It was Golden Week next week and that meant an entire seven days of training camp. And so, Tooru was forced to ask Yuuma for help since, much to his dismay, his twin was a great cook.
The way his brother's entire demeanor brightened up made his taste something bitter. Just seeing that guy happy irked Tooru to no ends. But he had to remind himself, however, that he was only doing this so they could focus on training and finally beat Shiratorizawa. "I... I don't mind, Iwaizumi-san."
"Thanks! Just go with Trashykawa on Saturday morning."
Tooru was not looking forward to it at all.
Once upon a time, no one would have believed the rumor about another person bearing the same face as their captain. However, the proof of that rumor was standing before them on a Saturday morning just before morning practice. The same shade of eyes and hair, the same face and complexion, and they stood at the exact same height. The only differences they could point out between the twins were their hairstyle and personality.
"G-Good morning; I'm Oikawa Yuuma but please just refer to me as Yuuma. I'll be... I'll be cooking for you guys for this week."
The entire Seijoh team comically looked at their captain and Yuuma during the latter's introduction. The uncanniness of it all left them in a stupor. Tooru, who finally had enough of their behaviour, clapped his hands to get their attention. "Alright, alright! Let's start warm-ups, everyone!"
Just behind Tooru, Iwaizumi Hajime quirked an eyebrow at his friend's stubbornness. Even at a time like this, he couldn't bring himself to even act civil around his twin? Honestly, it disappointed Hajime a bit. He knew his setter was childish but he thought he was mature enough at his age. "Couldn't you have been at least nicer to him?"
"I'm telling you, Iwa-chan; that's just an act. Yuuma is a meanie through and through. He'll definitely act out in the least time you expect him to!" Hajime rolled his eyes at the brunet's words as they all gathered in a circle. "Do you even hear what you're saying?"
"Why yes; in fact, I do."
The ace would have bonked the idiot on the head if only they weren't in the middle of training. A bump to his hips caught his attention so Hajime turned his head towards Matsukawa. "Oikawa hates his brother or something?" A defeated sigh left Hajime. "Surprisingly, he does." Matsukawa simply blinked at his answer. A thoughtful look crossed the middle blocker's face. "I thought he only hated geniuses. I would have thought he'd be doting on his brother — what's more, his twin."
"That's how much of a shit he is."
"I can hear you guys, Mattsun, Iwa-chan."
Matsukawa cheekily smiled at his captain. "You were supposed to." Tooru puffed out his cheeks in annoyance at that.
Oikawa Tooru stared at the table with a blank expression. He had known Yuuma could get a bit carried away when he's nervous (even when they were children, Yuuma would do things a little too excessively) but as he stared at the feast before them, Tooru felt himself slacken.
The rest of Seijoh stared at the numerous dishes laid out on the table, some even drooling at the sight. Was it someone's birthday or something? "Ah, have you... washed your hands yet?" Out came the chef of the day from the kitchen. Matsukawa and Hanamaki suddenly appeared on each side of the other Oikawa, startling poor Yuuma.
"You might be our favorite Oikawa from now on."
"Can you make profiteroles?"
"What about cheese-fileld hamburg steak?"
"Maki. Mattsun! You two are meanies!" Tooru pointed at the two of them as they fawned over a nervous Yuuma between them. Maki shook his head in amusement. "What? He's a great cook. Have you seen those dishes?"
"I live with him, Mattsun."
"Shut up and just eat, idiots!" Hajime finally snapped and thr trio stiffened at his voice. As everyone went on ahead to wash their dirty hands, Hajime caught sight of Yuuma leaving the dining room. Just by looking at the food laid out on the table, he could tell that the shy idiot hadn't eaten yet. So when they all settled down and began chowing down on the food his best friend's brother made, Hajime nudged Tooru.
"What is it, Iwa-chan?"
"Bring your brother some food."
A disgusted expression crossed the setter's face. "He's not a kid anymore, Iwa-chan. He can get some himself." Even when Hajime glared at him, the setter didn't budge. Instead of forcing him, the ace chose not to bother his stubborn friend anymore. Seriously, when will his setter grow up and admit that he missed his brother or some shit? It was painfully obvious to Hajime how Uglykawa still loves his twin no matter how many harsh things he says about him.
It wasn't long until the food Yuuma cooked up for them was gone. Hajime had to admit; Meekawa was a good cook, better than his setter. The first years were tasked with washing the dishes since it was the least thing they could do for Yuuma who would be feeding a bunch of wolves for a whole week.
Hajime had gone to the store room to get the mops ready before their afternoon practice and on his way back to the gym, he saw Yuuma near the water fountain; bent over as if he was... puking?
"Meek—"
He paused when he heard him throw up even more. The sound alone concerned Hajime. It sounded... painful.
"I'm okay," he heard the shy Oikawa mutter to himself. "I'm okay. It's alright. Nothing will happen. Tooru wouldn't do that kind of thing. Tooru isn't that mean." His voice was shaky and Hajime swore those words were being said to someone and yet, there was no one near around Yuuma. In fact, Hajime barely heard him at all. The ace wasn't a fan of eavesdropping but this concerned Trashykawa's brother.
But what did he mean by those things?
"Will you please not? I just... want things to get better so please..."
Hajime didn't understand at all.
Did Yuuma think his brother was mean? Did that idiot do something to his twin? What the fuck... That Loserkawa might be the reason why he even thinks his brother did something to him. Hajime thought with his eyebrows furrowed. Some things weren't clear still and after Inter High, he'd probably do something to get to the bottom of this.
If things continue like this, Hajime felt like something bad would happen.
And he didn't want to wait and find out what it is.
