Slytherin was completely unsettled. As they were vehemently denying being intimidated, unsettled was the most suitable word to use. Before the event-in-the-great-hall, Hermione Granger had been no one important. The only thing of note was when the hat had screamed "Get me off!". The Slytherins had assumed it was because she was either sickeningly sweet or utterly insane.

From the few interactions and observations of her they had shared, she was both. It had never occurred to them that she might be dangerous. Hufflepuffs were generally quite docile - most did not even stand up for themselves. It seemed that the world had forgotten the true danger of them.

Slytherin really had no idea what to do. For now, they resolved to keep an eye on Hermione Granger and stay the hell out of her way!

Hufflepuff was happy. For once, their house was finally being appreciated - or at least respected. All thanks to one Hermione Granger.

Ravenclaw was confused. Already, they had felt that Hermione Granger belonged in their house. Though somewhat absentminded, bubbly and slightly... confused, she embodied many Ravenclaw traits. She was the mad genius, the slight unscrewed intellectual so they thought the hat must have made a mistake.

And well, that incident had shown them just how clever she really was. With a spoon, two devices and a detonator, she had defeated two goblins while they were holding her friend hostage! She must have come up with that plan very quickly because she had stood up almost as soon as the goblins came in.

How had she passed her friend the device while fighting a goblin wielding a goblin made sword with an ordinary spoon? How had she even defeated the goblin? Goblins were known to be fearsome warriors and she had taken two on with her wits and a spoon.

She should be in their house.

Gryffindor was shocked. A first year girl and Hufflepuff had fought off goblins. They had never expected Hufflepuff's to be quite so vicious or dangerous. Hufflepuff's were the nice ones who smiled at you in the corridors, helped you if you were lost and preached peace.

The sudden change, therefore, had taken them completely by surprise. In seconds the bubbly, eccentric Hermione Granger had gone from the slightly unscrewed but sweet genius to a dangerous predator. The Gryffindors may have been a bit oblivious and very adventurous but that didn't mean they had lost all sense of self-preservation.

None of them would ever dare to cross a Hufflepuff again.

All the houses were scrambling to find information about 'The Oncoming Storm' and 'The Doctor'. Humans are innately curious beings after all.
