Chapter 9 – "Lover Of Mine."
"I…" Punch. "Am…" Punch. "So…" Punch. "Happy…" Punch. "For…" Punch. "You!"
"Can I turn you in for abuse?" Blaine mocked as he stroke the spot on his arm where his brother had punched him continuously. It hurt, but luckily he was used to being mandhandled. 10 years in the army did that to a guy.
"You love me," Cooper replied, a grin so big it nearly split his face in half.
Blaine rolled his eyes, while rolling himself towards the door of his room, looking back at Cooper. "And yet my love is answered with punches."
Cooper stuck out his tongue as he shrugged on his jacket, feeling his pocket for his wallet. "Okay, let's go get that coffee."
Blaine pulled his coat from the rack and handed it over to Cooper, who helped him put it on quickly and expertly.
"I think he's already helping me a lot," Blaine said quietly as they moved through the hospital halls, getting passed by nurses rushing towards patients, patients carrying IV's and family members visiting their loved ones, carrying bouquets of flowers.
"How so?" Cooper asked as he let Blaine push himself to the entrance, always on stand by if his brother decided his arms couldn't take the pressure anymore.
"I wake up every single day with so much will in my body. I want to push myself, I want to be better, so I can have an amazing and comfortable life with him."
"Aww, you're already thinking about the future, Blainers," Cooper said, ruffling the curly hair on top of his brother's head.
"Ofcourse I think about that. I am 28, turning 29 in six months, I am ready to settle down," Blaine said, while staring off into the distance, his arms working continuously to get him where he wanted to go. His arm strength had gone up another notch ever since he started moving himself around. With all the physical therapy, sometimes twice a day, he felt like he was seeing results.
He could now pull himself up without any help, although he still needed the turntable to do that. He was now training to put his whole weight onto his one foot, so he could turn around quickly and sit down on the bed or in the wheelchair. Soon, he wouldn't need the turntable anymore and he wouldn't have to rely on the nurse's help all the time.
It was a big relief to be able to do things individually. If the moment was there and he could stand on his one feet for a few seconds, he could also help himself to the toilet, which meant he could go on longer dates with Kurt. Blaine desperately wanted to take his boyfriend out to dinner and maybe go to the movies or the theater. They weren't far from New York and Kurt was even living there, so maybe they could catch a Broadway show soon.
All the plans Blaine was making inside his head were making him happy. Eva noticed it during physical therapy, Dr. Rose noticed it during their therapy sessions, his brother noticed it when they were spending time together, even Kurt noticed it, since Blaine was constantly texting him happy things when Kurt was back home and not in White Plains.
The distance between his boyfriend and him killed Blaine, even though he shouldn't complain. He still saw his boyfriend two days a week and sometimes he even made the trip up to White Plains a day earlier, so they could spend some much deserved time together.
Still, it wasn't enough. Blaine could safely say he was addicted to Kurt Hummel.
Luckily, it was also the other way around. Kurt seemed to love being around Blaine and it made the ex-soldier hope for a shared future.
It should be scary to think about a future when you were only dating for one week, but it made sense to Blaine. Almost all his army buddies had someone at home when they were on duty and while it had been okay for him to have sexual contacts while off duty, he had always wanted the romance. He wanted to come home after a hard day's work and wrap himself around his significant other.
His dreams now contained Kurt in that picture. It was always Kurt who came home after a matinee performance at the theater, while Blaine was happily cooking away in the kitchen, making sure Kurt could leave again in three hours for his evening performance with his stomach full of food.
While he didn't want to become a house husband, because in the long run, he wanted a job, he knew that he could be happy at home, providing a comfortable life for Kurt for a period of time.
That should scare the crap out of him, right? But it didn't. Because it was Kurt and Kurt was the most interesting man he ever had the privilege of meeting.
He had not shared this new found information with Kurt yet. Blaine wasn't about to screw up his relationship, because he wanted everything too quickly. He would continue being in a happily commited relationship with Kurt and when the time was right, or when Kurt would open the discussion of their future, Blaine would tell Kurt everything he wished for.
"Hey," Cooper spoke sharply, pulling the man in the wheelchair from his thoughts. "Where has your mind run off to?"
"To Kurt," Blaine smirked as they moved through Burke's entrance and walked/rolled the familiar route towards the coffee shop.
"Ofcourse, I should have known," Cooper said whiningly, rolling his eyes.
"Okay, so how was your trip back to L.A.? Is your apartment still in one piece? You didn't lose the role in that new movie, right?" Blaine asked worriedly. He didn't want his brother to risk any job offers just because he wanted to be around Blaine during his recovery.
"Don't you worry, filming won't start for another two weeks. I brought the script with me, so I figured I could run my lines with Kurt. He's the better actor out of the two of you."
Blaine rolled his eyes, looking almost identical to the way his brother did moments earlier, and gave a short, but effective punch in Cooper's side.
"Hey! Abuse!" Cooper exclaimed, while a group of giggling girls were following the two Anderson brothers, clearly recognizing Cooper. "And I'm right!"
"Ofcourse you're right. He is the better actor, but I could help you aswell."
"Yeah, yeah, lil bro. Ofcourse," and he ruffled Blaine's hair again, who huffed and braced himself for the hill he had to push himself against.
"You need help?" Cooper asked as he stood still, arms out, ready to help his little brother get up the hill.
"No, I want to give it a go," Blaine answered and took a deep breath, flexing the muscles in his arms and started pushing. He grunted and swore, but within a few minutes, he was up the hill. He put his wheelchair on the brakes immediately, so he wouldn't roll back and he cheered, high fiving his brother, who was applauding him all the way through.
"You've come such a long way, Blaine. I'm so proud of you."
"Aww, are you crying?" Blaine teased, as he shook his arms to get rid of the uncomfortable feeling.
"Hey! I can't imagine how hard it was for you to go through this, but I got the biggest shock of my life aswell! My heart literally dropped all the way to my stomach when I received the phone call."
"I know, Coop…" Blaine said quietly, grabbing his brother's gloved hand and squeezed it. "I didn't mean to make a joke out of it. I'm really glad you're here for me through everything."
"Okay, now it's too sappy, I'm not sure I like it."
"And there's my brother I know and love."
"Jerk."
"Asshole."
"No way, get the hell out of here!"
"You can't send us away, we're still your parents."
"Hell yeah I can send you away. You're nothing to me anymore."
"Why are you still in bed? You've been here for three weeks now? Shouldn't you be up and running?"
"Jesus Christ, I'm not sure if I can handle this…"
After a lovely visit to the coffee shop, Cooper had made a detour to his hotel room to get some stuff, so Blaine was now alone in his room, resting. He needed it, since he had pushed himself around all morning and his arms were aching.
But now the positivity he had been feeling all morning disappeared as soon as he had seen his parents walk through the door.
"Blaine Devon Anderson, you can't speak to us like this!" Jackson Anderson towered over the bed, arms in his side, while Yvonne was standing back a bit, staring at the confrontation in front of her with a dull look in her eyes.
"I can speak to you however I please. I'm not your son. Not anymore."
"We haven't raised you to be this disloyal!"
Blaine snorted as he pushed himself up on the bed, lifting up his upper body, leaning on his arms, which were shaking underneath the pressure. "Get out. You can't speak to me of disloyalty. You've seen me as an abomination for the last 10 years, simply because I'm gay and because I've joined the army. You've turned your back to Cooper for becoming a well-respected Hollywood actor."
"It is our right to protect our sons from the dangers of the world!"
"Protect?" Blaine yelled, feeling his face tighten in anger. "You have done nothing to protect Cooper or me. Now get out of my sight before I call security."
"You wouldn't, Blaine," Jackson said through clenched teeth. "We are your parents."
"No, you are mistaken. Leave, while you still voluntarily can."
Jackson raised up his arm and before Blaine could even defend himself, he held his cheek in one hand, eyes wide and full of tears, while his father's hand was imprinted onto the skin.
"You hit me…" Blaine stammered out as his whole body began to shake. "You've never used violence."
"Blaine…" Yvonne whimpered as Jackson growled at the sight of his son.
"Mother, father…" A voice sounded from the door opening. All three people currently occupying the room looked up with wide eyes, spotting Cooper. "I suggest you leave now. You're in the way of Blaine's well being."
"You can't…" Jackson started yelling, but promptly shut up as he saw two big security guards appearing from behind Cooper.
"Don't make a scene, father. Just walk away with these guys and don't ever come back."
The men behind Cooper narrowed their eyes, shortly looking over to the patient in the bed, still shaking heavily.
"Sir and miss, follow us, please."
Jackson Anderson threw up his arms in surrender and looked over to his son on the bed one last time, before pulling his wife close to him, who was quiet, but willing to leave and follow her husband.
As soon as everyone had cleared the room, Cooper rushed over to his brother's bed and threw his arms around him, trying desperately to calm him down.
Blaine was whimpering as tears were running down his cheeks, hissing as the wetness touched the sensitive skin where his father had slapped him.
"I can't believe he hit you…" Cooper growled out, still hugging his little brother close to his chest, caressing the back of his neck lovingly.
"He's never done that before…" Blaine whispered. The soft touch of his brother calmed him down well enough for him to talk again. "You?"
"Nope, he always used his words, but never his hands. God, he was disgusting before, but now even more."
"They are out of our lives, Cooper. We won't let them touch us, deal?"
"Deal, bro," Cooper replied, then pressed a kiss on Blaine's forehead. "Are you physically hurt?"
Blaine shook his head as he pushed Cooper off of him, smiling at him apologetically. "I want to call Kurt. What time is it?"
"5pm," Cooper answered after a second of staring at his watch.
"He should be off work now, atleast for a while. Can you hand me my phone?"
"Ofcourse, Blainers. I'm gonna grab something to drink in the cafetaria. Call me whenever you're ready."
"Thanks, Coop," Blaine smiled thankfully as he took the phone his brother extended towards him. "See you soon."
"See ya," Cooper exclaimed and left the room.
With a fast beating heart and a tightness in his throat, Blaine dialed Kurt's number and pressed the phone close to his ear, like he could push his body right through the phone and hug Kurt at the other side of the line. He desperately wished he could.
"Hi, Blaine!"
As soon as Kurt's voice rang through the speaker of his phone, Blaine's heart calmed down and the uncomfortable feeling in his throat got replaced by butterflies chasing each other in his stomach.
"Hey, sweetheart," he answered softly, cradling the phone even closer to his ear. "I miss you…"
"Are you okay?" Kurt's voice sounded concerned and Blaine couldn't help but to let out a bubbly laugh. Kurt already knew him so well and they weren't even together for that long.
"I am now…"
"You wanna talk about it?"
"No, not now. I just want to hear your voice," Blaine said shyly, trying to cool down his blushing cheeks.
"You want me to sing for you, sweetie?"
Blaine's heart strongly reacted at the pet name and Blaine sighed happily, biting his lip as to not split his face with how wide he was grinning. "Only if you feel like it," and hearing Kurt's laugh come from the other side of the line was the best gift Blaine could ever receive on a day like this.
"Blaine, I sing professionally. It's a hobby turned into my job. I jump at every opportunity to sing. And now my boyfriend calls me, clearly upset, so yes, I would love nothing more than to sing for you."
Blaine sobbed and bit his tongue, because those three little words were dying to get out, waiting to be uttered. But no, he shouldn't screw it up like that. It was way too soon and Kurt deserved to hear them in person and not through the phone.
"Thank you, Kurt, that means a lot… Can you sing Waving Through A Window? I can't believe I haven't heard you sing it sooner. I love that song."
"Ofcourse, Blaine…"
The sharp intake of breath that Kurt took made Blaine press the phone to his ear so closely that it would leave a mark for sure, but it mattered not. He was about to hear his gorgeous boyfriend sing, especially for him. And it made him feel loved, so extremely loved that he couldn't believe how he hadn't found Kurt sooner.
As Kurt sung the words to the song in his own, beautiful way, Blaine's mind couldn't help but to start wandering, although he was still very much aware of his boyfriend's voice in the background.
The relationship with his parents had been officially over. He didn't want them in his life ever again and he was sure Cooper didn't want them around either. It felt enlightened to be able to say that, to cast such toxic people from your life.
For such a long time, he had hoped his father and mother would have turned over a new leaf. He had hoped they would suddenly praise him for being a perfect son. He had dreamt about the fact they would suddenly accept him.
But they would never. They were horrible people and horrible people should be banished from your life, even if they were family.
This song had such a powerful message in it and Blaine felt so close to the lyrics and the way his boyfriend was singing it for him, that it made him sob, right as Kurt rang out the last tone.
"Oh, Kurt…" Blaine mumbled as Kurt stopped singing. "Thank you, thank you, thank you. Your voice is so gorgeous. You are the most gorgeous man I've ever laid my eyes on. Thank you for being in my life."
"The pleasure is all mine, Blaine Anderson. You are pretty amazing yourself," and Blaine could just hear the flirty wink laced into Kurt's voice.
"Will I see you tomorrow? I have something pretty big to show you!"
"Ofcourse you will see me tomorrow. Do you honestly think I can wait any more days until I get to see my beautiful boyfriend again?"
"So corny," Blaine teased as he bit his lip and felt a tear escape the corner of his eye. "I know I sound ridiculous for a 28-year-old, but I miss you so extremely much."
"Hey, I'm 29, turning 30 in 7 months, and I feel exactly the same way. Don't feel ashamed about your feelings for me. Not while I share the exact same ones."
"I wish I could kiss you right now," Blaine spoke softly, absently stroking the phone with his thumb.
"Oh yeah?" Kurt's voice sounded restrained, like he had trouble breathing. "How would you kiss me, Blaine?"
"Is…" Blaine gasped out, trying to find his voice while his boyfriend sounded extremely sexy. "Is this what I think it is?"
"If you want it to be?" Kurt sounded so extremely innocent, it made Blaine's chest tighten.
"Yes," Blaine growled, as he slid the zipper of his trousers down, relieving some of the pressure on his already half-hard cock.
"Oh, Blaine," Kurt whined and Blaine could hear some shuffling around, before a door was being slammed shut and Kurt fell down on something. "Tell me how you would kiss me if I would be there right now."
"I would take your face in between my hands and bring my lips closer to yours. My tongue would run over your lower lip, asking for entrance. Would you grant me entrance, beautiful?"
"Ofcourse," Kurt replied in a growly voice and the sound of an opening zipper reached Blaine's ears.
Blaine chuckled as he slid down his hands himself, catching the loops on his pants and, with his phone tucked between his ear and shoulder, he slowly removed his pants over his butt and down his legs. Swiftly, he removed the pants from underneath his stump and then proceeded to slide it down his left leg.
"Blaine?" He could hear Kurt breath into the phone. "You still there?"
"Yep, just a minute, having trouble with my pants," Blaine groaned into the phone and he desperately wanted to make Kurt fluster, but right now he was being so clumsy…
"Oh, Blaine, keep growling like that and you have me coming before you could even remove your pants, sweetie," Kurt said huskily.
"Kurt, wait for me."
"I will, sweetheart, don't worry," Kurt cooed into Blaine's ear, making Blaine melt right then and there in his bed.
With a triumphant yell, Blaine finally plucked the fabric from underneath his left leg and threw it into the direction of the chair, rolling his eyes as it slid off onto the ground. He couldn't care in the slightest. Not while his hot boyfriend was currently touching his own cock at the other side of the line.
"Baby, you still there?"
"Uhuh," Kurt mumbled back. "Already very hard, Blaine. Please, say something, anything."
"Oh, my… you're blanking my mind. I… I wanna kiss your neck, baby. I wanna lick that gorgeous, pale throat of yours and scratch my teeth against the side of your neck… I wanna feel you squirm underneath me. I want to feel you grow hard against my thigh."
"Keep going…" His boyfriend groaned out and Blaine could picture Kurt's hand tightened around his cock, pumping up and down and running his thumb over the leaking tip and it made Blaine buck against his hand as he palmed himself.
"I… I want to taste you, Kurt. I want to feel the weight of your cock on my tongue and feel you harden in my wet mouth… I… Oh, Kurt," Blaine hissed as his thumb caught the tip of his cock, so, so sensitive, but so, so good at the same time. It became too much too soon and Blaine desperately needed his boyfriend so say something, anything, in return.
He heard Kurt whine in response and the sound of Kurt jerking himself off was clear, making Blaine's mouth water.
"I wish I could see you now," Blaine whispered. "I bet you look so flustered right now."
"Wait just a second…" Kurt's voice suddenly sounded far away as he heard fingers run over the microphone.
After thirty seconds, Blaine could hear a message coming in. With a frown, he opened it, while still having his call to Kurt open, and nearly dropped his phone on the ground when he saw the picture attached to it.
"Kurt!" He gasped, his cheeks immediately dark red in response. On the picture, his gorgeous boyfriend lay completely naked. He had his arm stretched out above him, so he almost had his whole body visible inside the frame of the picture. His hard cock proudly lay on his stomach, red and dripping pre come.
"Do you like what you see, Blaine?" Kurt purred back.
"Are you fucking serious?" Blaine struggled, because what were words? He was sure it wasn't important right now, because he would never recover from this picture.
Kurt giggled. "Can I get a picture back? Pretty please?"
"Ofcourse, my dearest Kurt. I don't think I can deny you anything."
"I can't wait."
"Okay, hold on."
"I'll be patiently waiting."
Blaine growled as he put down the phone for a few seconds to pull down his boxer briefs, hissing as his erection finally escaped. Quickly, his fingers found his phone again and he pushed the blankets back and snapped a picture in the same manner Kurt had done, his lower lip caught between his teeth. Before he could chicken out or decide he looked absolutely ridiculous, Blaine had already sent the picture.
"Blaine!" Kurt squeaked only a few seconds after he had sent the picture. "You look so, so, so, so hot. I want to take that pretty cock into my mouth. Can I do that next time?"
"Yes, Kurt. Ofcourse, Kurt," Blaine babbled as he wrapped a hand around his cock again. "I really, really, really want to come. You want the same?"
"More than anything, Blaine," Kurt replied, voice low and it ran all the way down Blaine's spine, making him shiver and want so much. "I haven't been this turned on in ages. This is so hot."
"I agree," Blaine groaned, working his right hand over his cock so furiously, he had no idea how he was still holding off his release. Then he felt the familiar tug inside his stomach he had grown so fond of over the years.
No matter where he was in the world, no matter how bad the ugly war he was fighting in was, he could always pleasure himself up until the point he couldn't hold it in any longer. This tickle felt safe, felt like a beacon of hope.
But now it was even more than he had ever hoped for. He could experience this feeling with another man, a man he was attracted to and vice versa. It had to be the best feeling in the world to share this with the man he loved.
Before he could even get vocal about it, he had already exploded into his hand, over his stomach, even hitting his chin with the sheer force of it.
He heard some swearing through the phone and while Blaine was still shaking, coming down from the best release he had experienced in a while, he heard Kurt climax with a breathy moan, Blaine's name leaving his lover's mouth like a prayer.
"Oh god," Kurt giggled after a minute of silence, only heavy panting. "I'm in my dressing room. Anyone could've walked in."
"Then they would have received the show of their life," Blaine joked and wiped some sweaty curls from his forehead, trying to blow cool air on his face, but he failed miserably, chuckling as he grabbed some tissues in one hand to clean up the mess as well as possible.
"I wish I could be there right now… I have no idea if I can really focus on stage tonight after this…" Kurt said, sounding so extremely cute, Blaine wished he could pull Kurt throught the phone and gather him in his arms.
"You need to focus. Play your best show and pretend I'm there in the audience, cheering you on. I'm the proudest boyfriend ever."
"You're ridiculous."
"Too late to back down now, sweetheart," Blaine stuck out his tongue, desperately wanting to be able to flirt with Kurt in real life, not through the phone.
"I'm not gonna run, ever. I promise. I'm way too invested anyways."
"Good," Blaine said with a lazy smile.
"I don't want to, but I really need to go. I desperately need a shower and I'm going out to dinner with some of the cast mates soon. Thank you for calling me, though, Blaine."
"Trust me, the pleasure was all mine," Blaine sighed into the phone happily. "Have fun tonight. See you tomorrow."
"See you tomorrow, sweetheart," Kurt promised and hung up the phone.
Blaine kept it pressed to his ear for a little while longer, until he released a deep breath and safely put his phone away. Then, his eye fell on his boxer briefs on the floor, same with his jeans.
"Shit…"
"It's not funny, Kurt! You should have seen Sam's face."
"That's precisely what I wanted to see," Kurt giggled as he giggled into Blaine's chest, hugging his boyfriend close.
"I will take a picture next time," Blaine said sarcastically, but secretly loved how care-free his boyfriend was and sounded right now. He loved every single thing about Kurt, including his melodic laugh. It made him all the more real and less like an angel. Because angels didn't exist and Kurt most certainly did.
"Well, now it's the second time he's caught my boyfriend in a questioning position."
Blaine choked on air as he thought back. Ofcourse Sam had seen him naked more times than he wished, but caught in a questioning position? He had no idea what Kurt was talking about.
"I see your confusion. The first time wasn't actually you. It was Chandler, my boyfriend in high school. Sam was living in our house during senior year and Chandler was over in what he thought was an empty house, except for me ofcourse. I was in the shower and Chandler was chilling on my bed, naked, reading some sort of magazine. Then, Sam came home in what he thought was an empty house, so as soon as he opened my bedroom door to "borrow" something of mine, he caught Chandler. Safe to say… The two of them couldn't look each other in the eye for the next few months. My dad and Finn kept wondering why there was so much awkwardness hanging in the air between the two."
Blaine had hugged Kurt closer to his body as he felt a sharp jab inside his chest. Hearing Kurt talk about an ex so casually made him feel jealous, even though he knew Chandler was in the past and he didn't want to feel like that. He trusted Kurt with his heart, as scary as it may seem.
"In the end, they talked it out and they even shared a drunken kiss during our graduation party."
Blaine gasped as he turned Kurt's face so he could look in his boyfriend's eyes questioning.
"Well, Chandler and I had already broken up at that time. Our love wasn't strong enough to make future plans, so he was accepted into college in Cincinnati, while I was going off to New York. We figured it would be easier to break up then, instead of trying long distance and failing anyways, because we didn't feel that much in love. It was a mutual decision. No tears were shed and we even remained friends for a little, while we were both off in college. But anyways… there was alcohol at that party. My friend Puck took care of that. And we, very childishly, played spin the bottle. Chandler was there too, because he was friends with most of my high school friends aswell, and the bottle Chandler span landed on Sam. Well, it was a very passionate kiss."
"Is Sam into guys?" Blaine wondered out loud, running his fingers through Kurt's soft hair.
"Not that I know of. I think it was the heat of the moment. They never spoke of it again. It was very funny, though."
"Weren't you mad… your ex and one of your friends?"
Kurt shook his head, tickling Blaine's chin with his hair scratching over the skin. "Nope. I don't think it was ever love I felt for Chandler. I was attracted to him, sure and he was fun to be around, but it was never supposed to be true love."
Blaine took a sharp breath in. Hearing Kurt talk about true love like that, he desperately wished the situation was now different. He sincerely hoped Kurt would feel different about him than he had felt about Chandler in the end.
He just hoped there wouldn't be an end for Kurt and Blaine.
"What about your past relationships?" Kurt mumbled into Blaine's chest, clearly not looking forward to hearing the answer, but Kurt had absolutely nothing to worry about if Blaine had anything to say about it.
"I had one steady boyfriend in high school. The relationship between me and Sebastian was a whirlwind and I'm putting it lightly. He wasn't always very good to me, but I was always ready to forgive him. Trust me, I've got enough interventions from my friends… At graduation, I've finally had enough of his bullshit and I broke up with him. We would break up anyways, since I was going off to join the army and he was gonna go to New York to become a lawyer or something, I don't even know anymore. I don't think I care either."
"I'm glad you got out of that relationship. You don't deserve to be treated badly, not by anyone." Kurt ran his tongue over Blaine's chest, which was visible through his open polo shirt.
"Well, the past doesn't matter. I have you now."
"Yes," Kurt mumbled, snuggling even closer. "You have me now."
"I slept around during my years in the army. I hope you're not put off by that," Blaine blurted out, even though the conversation had been closed as soon as Kurt had uttered the romantic words. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to announce it like that…"
"Blaine," Kurt stopped Blaine's rant with a soft, simple kiss to his temple, instantly calming down the ex-soldier. "Let me just start by saying I couldn't be upset with you about that. You're human and you need intimacy, simple as that. And…" Kurt paused his speech to dramatically wink into Blaine's direction. "I'm really glad you've never found someone romantically. I've seen Dear John, you know. You could have had a very passionate romantic two weeks with someone and develop a serious enough relationship with them, so I wouldn't have had a chance anymore."
"I think my mind knew to wait for you," Blaine said jokingly, although his heart started beating faster at the thought of not having found Kurt.
"I'm glad…"
"So, you're the famous Kurt Hummel my brother can't shut up about."
"Cooper!"
"What?"
"We were sleeping, in case you didn't notice? Where are your manners?"
"I have none, duh. So, are you gonna introduce me to your starstruck boyfriend over there?"
Blaine sat up as he turned his neck to get the kinks out and stared at Kurt, still laying down, but staring at Cooper with big, sparkly eyes. "Um, Kurt? Are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Kurt said dreamily. "Wow, your parents produced the two most gorgeous people on the planet."
Cooper laughed out loud, while Blaine ducked his head and hit his face into Kurt's neck, mumbling something incomprehensibly.
"Aw, your boyfriend loves me already," Cooper said, puffing his chest out proudly and sat down on the chair, staring at the two lovebirds on the bed.
"Still, I have a slight preference for the Anderson man in the bed," Kurt replied with a teasing wink, patting Blaine's arm affectionately. "You can come out now, honey. You're the one for me, not your older, Hollywood brother. Trust me."
"You're both mocking me," Blaine said with a pout on his face as he emerged from behind Kurt.
"And don't you love it. Soooo… Kurt," Cooper sing sang, with his eyes fixed on his brother's boyfriend. "As you know, I'm a demanding Hollywood actor. I need to be on set in less than two weeks and I need someone to run my lines with."
"Oooh!" Kurt exclaimed, eyes wide in excitement. "I'm the best person to run lines with."
"Yay, from one professional to another!" Cooper said happily, raising up his hand and meeting Kurt's flat hand in a high five.
"Guys, I feel a little excluded here," Blaine mocked from his spot on the bed, still pouting and looking very close to a puppy not getting what he wanted.
"Oh hush, be happy your boyfriend and your dear brother are bonding," Cooper said cockily as he retrieved two stacks of papers from his bag, handing one over to Kurt. "Okay, so, I'm Jake Gyllenhaal's best friend, whose name is Jack, funnily enough. My name in the movie is Dan and Jack just found the girl of his dreams and Dan just got dumped by some other girl, so Dan desperately tries to talk Jack into not going on a date with this girl, thinking all girls are monsters. Savvy?"
"Yep, I'm good," Kurt nodded as he opened the script, reading over the lines quickly. "Dan, I've just met the most perfect girl on this planet," Kurt said in the perfect lovestruck voice, complete with a loving sigh. It sounded so believable Blaine had to check twice his boyfriend was still there and not replaced by this fictional character.
"Good for you," Cooper growled out, looking absolutely heart broken.
Blaine watched his brother and boyfriend play out the first scene Cooper would appear in, taken aback by the talent of both men. While Kurt had a way with facial expressions, Cooper mostly threw his emotions into the way he was talking. That was probably the difference between stage and screen. On the stage, people were sitting far away from the actors, so they had to make sure every single person in the audience could see what they were thinking, what they were feeling.
The way Kurt threw everything into acting made Blaine swoon and fall deeper for his boyfriend. He had so much passion for his job and Blaine was very much into men full of life, full of passion.
As soon as they had run through the scene twice, Blaine whined and pulled at Kurt's arm, demanding attention. "I still need to show you how far I've come in physical therapy."
"Yes, sweetheart, I can't wait!" Kurt said, as he handed the script back to Cooper, who put it back inside his bag, then stepping back so Kurt could move off the bed swiftly.
Blaine frowned, determined to make both his brother and his boyfriend proud and sat himself up inside his bed with the remote. When he was all the way up, he pushed the blankets off of him and grabbed his stump in two hands and pushed it over the side of his bed, while he threw his good leg next to it. He focused on staying upright, while he lowered the whole bed, so his one foot could touch the floor. He managed not to look his boyfriend in the eyes, afraid he would lose focus and hurt himself.
"Cooper, can you put my wheelchair in front of me, so that I can take the arm rests with my hands?" Blaine said, frowning and then nodded as Cooper drove the wheelchair and put it opposite of him, the right amount of distance between him and the wheelchair to stand up comfortably.
Releasing a lot of air from his lungs, he furrowed his eyebrows together even more, then grabbed both arm rests with his hands. Tongue slighty poking out between his lips, he pushed himself up. His arm muscles were shaking under the pressure, but before he knew it, he was standing up on his one leg, his stump hanging awkwardly next to it, while still clutching onto his wheelchair.
Still not daring to watch both his boyfriend or his brother, Blaine then took a deep breath in and released one hand and hopped on his foot, turning himself around 180 degrees and quickly putting his released hand back on the wheelchair, before falling into the wheelchair, huffing as his butt took most of the fall.
"Are you okay?" Kurt was at his right side immediately, while Cooper approached him from the left, eyes wide.
"Yep, I'm good. So… What do you think?" Blaine asked shyly, lip caught between his teeth, while staring at his boyfriend with big eyes.
"I'm so proud of you!" Kurt exclaimed happily, throwing his arms around Blaine's shoulders and pulling him close. "You did it, baby."
Blaine laughed breathlessly, patting Kurt's back affectionately, while looking at Cooper over his boyfriend's shoulder, flashing him a smile. Cooper wore so much pride in his eyes, it made Blaine emotional and before he could suppress those feelings, tears were already escaping his eyes.
"Are you crying? Oh, no, baby, you're okay!" Kurt cooed, as he pressed a loving kiss on Blaine's temple, pushing back his curls.
"I'm more than fine. I'm happy," Blaine breathed out, still squeezed tightly against Kurt's chest.
"Ofcourse, you are, you've come such a long way!" Cooper howled. "I'm so proud of you aswell, little brother. See, you can do anything you can put your mind to."
"You two are my biggest cheerleaders and I thank you for that," Blaine said softly, tears still present in his eyes.
"There's nowhere I'd rather be than right beside you… Light up, light up, as if you have a choice. Even if you cannot hear my voice, I'll be right beside you dear," Kurt sang right into Blaine's ear, spreading goosebumps all over Blaine's arms and the back of his neck.
In the corner of his eyes, Blaine saw Cooper leave the room, sensing the important moment shared between Kurt and Blaine. Blaine snuggled closer into Kurt's touch.
"I love you…" Blaine whispered, lips ghosting over the skin of Kurt's cheek. It was such a simple clarification, no trumpets or rose petals or intense looks, just simply Kurt and Blaine locked in an embrace, soaking in the happiness.
"I love you too, Blaine."
