It's been a few days after since their detention in the forest and we haven't really talked about it, mainly because we have been studying for our exams.
We have just took our Potion exam and I remembered a lot more than I thought I would, so that's good. We are just walking down to Hagrid, he asked us to pop down once our exams were over, plus I've got to pick up Grace.
"I always heard Hogwarts end of year exams would be frightful but I found that rather enjoyable" Hermione says as we were in the courtyard.
"Me too actually" I say. "I thought I was going to forget everything."
"Same, but once I looked at my paper, it all came back to me" Hermione says smiling.
I look and see Harry holding his head. "You ok Harry?"
"My scar, it keeps burning."
"It's happened before, hasn't it?" Hermione asks.
"But not like this."
"Maybe you should see the nurse" Ron says.
"I think it's a warning, it means danger coming" he says still holding his head. Harry stopped suddenly which makes us stop. "I've just thought of something."
"What?" we all ask.
"Don't you think it's a bit odd, that what Hagrid wants more than anything is a dragon and a stranger turns up and just happens to have one. I mean how many people wander around with a dragon egg in their pocket? Why didn't I see it before" Harry says.
Then he just starts running off towards Hagrid's, we look at each other, then run after him, I look, and I can see Hagrid sitting outside his house, but Grace isn't with him. "Where's Grace?" I ask as soon as I reach him.
"She's inside, she's not very well" I nod and walk into his house. I see her lying down on the chair, I walk over to her and bend down in front of her. "Hey baby girl, Hagrid said you were poorly."
"Sissy, my head hurts."
"Dose anywhere else hurt?"
"No, just my head."
I check her forehead and she's very hot. "You're burning up. Come on, I will take you to the hospital wing" she nods and slowly stands up.
We walk out of Hagrid's house only to found that Harry, Ron and Hermione aren't there. "Where did they go?" I ask.
"I don't know, they have just ran back up to the school. Is Grace ok? She's been asleep all afternoon."
"She's got an headache and she's really hot, so I'm taking her to the hospital wing" he nods.
"Do you need any help?" he asks.
"No, I'm fine, thanks for looking after her."
"Your welcome Jade" we say goodbye to Hagrid and walk up to the school.
"Sissy, my head really hurts."
"Want me to carry you the rest of the way?" she nods and I pick her up and carry on walking. Once we get there the nurse comes rushing over. "What is it? What's wrong?"
"She says her head is hurting her and she's burning up."
"Ok dear, put her down on the bed and I will check in her" I nod and put her down on the bed.
The nurse pulls out her wand and starts checking on Grace. "Is she ok, what's wrong with her?"
"She's fine dear, she's got a migraine, has she been sleeping at night?"
"No, the last few nights, she's been having nightmares about being eaten by a dog" she nods.
"Ok dear, I'm just going to get her a Potion for her headache and another one to help her sleep" I nod, and she walks off.
I look at Grace. "Am I ok?" she asks.
"Yes baby girl, you're perfectly fine. You just have a really bad headache, but the nurse is being you a Potion to help, so you need to be a big girl and drink it ok, even if it doesn't taste nice."
"Ok sissy, I can be a good girl."
"I know you can" I say smiling.
Just then the nurse comes back over with two cups. "Here you go dear, this one will help with your headache" she hands Grace a blue cup, she takes it and drinks it in one go, then pulls a face, then smiles. "I did it."
"Well done baby girl" I say smiling.
"And this Potion will help you get a good night sleep. I'm keeping you in over night so I can keep an eye on you" the nurse says.
"Would I be able to stay with her?" I ask.
"Yes dear, you can stay."
"Thank you" she nods.
Grace takes the up off her, she goes to drink it but stops and looks at me. "Sissy, can you get rainbow and teddy for me?"
"Of course, you drink that first and when you wake up, they will be with you" she nods and drinks it and within seconds she's asleep. I look at the nurse. "I'm just going to pop to the common room, I will be back in a minute."
"Ok dear, just be quite when you come back because there's other people sleeping."
"I will" she nods and walks off.
I say the password to the common room and the portrait opens and I walk in, only to trip over something, or should I say someone, I look and see Neville on the floor unable to move.
I pull out my wand and undone the jinx. "Thanks Jade."
"What happened? Why you on the floor?"
"I tried stopping Harry, Ron and Hermione from leaving, but Hermione jinx me so I couldn't move."
"Stop them?" I frown. "Stop them from doing what?"
"I don't know, but they were sneaking out again" Neville says. He looks at me. "Where have you been?"
"Grace is in the hospital wing, I've just come to get her some stuff."
"Is she ok?"
"Yeah, she's just got a migraine that's all" he nods, and we stand up. "I'm sure they had a good reason to leave at night, I mean it must have been important if Hermione was willing to break the rules."
"Yeah, yeah I guess you're right."
"Maybe you should try and get some sleep."
"Yeah, I think I will. Good night Jade."
"Good night Neville" he walks off to his room and I walk off to mine.
I walk over to my bed and pick up rainbow and teddy, Daisy is fast asleep on my pillow, I smile, then leave the room.
I'm just rushing back to the hospital wing when I turn the corner and bump into, something, but when I look, there's nothing there.
"Huh?"
"Jade" someone says, making me jump.
"Harry, where are you?" he pulls the cloak off him, Ron and Hermione.
"What are you doing?" we all ask together.
"We are going after the Stone, Snape knows how to get past fluffy" Harry says.
"How do you know that?"
"It was Snape who gave Hagrid that dragon's egg and Hagrid told him how to get past fluffy, Dumbledore has left the school, which means Snape is going to try and steal it tonight" Harry says.
"Are you sure about for of this Harry? It could be very dangerous, you have no idea what's down that trapped door."
"I know crazy eyes, but we can't let Snape get that Stone."
"I know that lightning. I just don't want any of you hurt that's all."
"So, will you come with us?" Hermione asks.
"I can't, Grace is in the hospital wing" they look at me worried. "She's fine, just got an headache that's all, but I can't leave her on her own, she might wake up and I want to be here if she dose."
"It's ok Jade" Ron says.
"Yeah, we understand" Hermione says.
"Just promise me that you will be careful" I say.
"We promise" they say together. I give them a quick hug and rush off to the hospital wing I slowly walk in and see that Grace is still asleep.
I walk over to her and put rainbow and teddy down next to her, then sit on the chair next to her bed, I pull out a book from my bag and start reading it.
I'm halfway through my book when I hear a noise behind me, I turn around and see Snape standing there. What? He's meant to be after the Stone.
I stand up and look at him. "What are you doing here?" I ask.
"I heard about your sister and -" he starts but I cut him off "no, I didn't mean it like that."
"How did you mean it then?"
"Ok, don't be angry with me, but I know about the Stone and Harry, Ron and Hermione have gone after it because they think you're the one who's trying to steal it."
"I'm not angry with you, but how did you find out about the Stone?" he asks.
"That's doesn't matter at the minute, the point is, if you're here, then who's after the Stone?" Snape doesn't answer me. "We have to get Professor Dumbledore back, he has to get Harry, Ron and Hermione out of there before they get themselves killed."
Just then Ron, who's unconscious, and Hermione who look shook up, walked into the hospital wing. Dumbledore was right behind them.
"What happened? Are you ok? Where's Harry?" I ask.
"He's gone after the Stone" Hermione says, then she looked at Snape, then at me. "Who's after the Stone then?"
"I dunno, but we have to get Harry before he gets himself killed" I say panicking a little bit.
Dumbledore looks at Snape. "Severus, with me, and you two" he says, looking at me and Hermione, "get some rest" we nodded, and Snape and Dumbledore rushed out of the hospital wing.
The nurse comes rushing over and started checking on Ron, she said he's fine and has got no lasting damage, she also checked on Hermione who is also fine, the nurse gave her a Potion to calm her nerves.
"So, what happened down there?" I ask as Hermione lies in the bed next to Grace, who's still asleep.
"When we went through the trap door and we landed in Devil's Snare, but we manged to get out, then Harry had to fly on a broom to get the key to open the next door."
"How did Ron get hurt?" I ask.
"The next room was a huge chessboard."
"You mean like wizard chess?"
"Yes, every time a piece won, it would smash the one that lost, Ron was brilliant, he made sure that we were safe and didn't get hurt. We were winning, but then he notices that there were no more moves left, so he sacrificed himself so Harry could win and come on to the next door" Hermione said with tears in her eyes.
"Then what happened?"
"Me and Harry went through the next door which was a knocked-out troll and the last room was Snape's trap, which was a puzzle."
"A puzzle?" I ask confused. "I thought it would have been something to do with Potions."
"It was"
"Oh, what was the puzzle then?"
"We were trapped in a room, there was a fire blocking both doors, on the table there were seven bottles, three were poison, two are wine, one would get you through the fire towards the Stone and one would get you back through the fire and to safety."
"I'm guessing there was only enough for one to get to the Stone?"
"Yes, Harry told me to get the Potion that would get me to safety and he carried on to get the Stone, but what I don't understand is. What was Snape doing here, I thought he was after the Stone?" Hermione asks looking a confused.
"I guess we were wrong, but I wonder who it could have been?"
"I don't know, but I hope Harry is alright."
"I'm sure he's fine" Hermione says looking unsure.
I was about to say something when Dumbledore talked in with an unconscious Harry. "Is he ok?" me and Hermione asked together.
"He's fine, perfectly fine" he says smiling a little. He lied him down on the bed.
"Who was it? Who was after the Stone?" I ask.
"Professor Quirrell."
"No way" Hermione says.
"Yes way" Dumbledore says smiling.
It's the next day and we are all allowed to leave the hospital wing, Harry told us all about how Quirrell had You-Know-Who on the back of his head and that he tried to kill Harry because Harry had the Stone in his pocket, but Quirrell couldn't touch him, when he did, his sink would turn to stone and start to crumble.
You-Know-Who let Quirrell died and turned into a sprit and went through Harry, knocking him out. Dumbledore told Harry that Quirrell couldn't touch him because of his mom's love, she saved him again.
We are all just sitting in he Great Hall, just talking when McGonagall trapped her glass and the hall went quiet and Dumbledore stood up and everyone looked at him.
"Another year gone and now as I understand it, the House Cup needs awarding and the points stand, in fourth place Gryffindor with 312 points, in third, Hufflepuff with 352 points, Ravenclaw have 426 and Slytherin, 472."
The Slytherin table started cheering loudly, I saw Draco looking at me with a smug face. I roll my eyes and look away.
"Yes, yes, well done Slytherin, however, recent events must be taken into account" Dumbledore says and everyone went quite and Draco's face dropped.
"I have a few last minute points to give out, first, to Mr Ronald Weasley, for the best played games of chess Hogwarts has seen in many years, I award 50 points."
Ron sat there looking shocked. We smile at him and Grace gives him a high five since he's sitting across from us.
"Second, to Miss Hermione Granger, the cool use of Intellect while others were in grave peril, I award fifty point." and
Hermione smile. Grace giver her a five high because she's sitting next to Ron.
"Third, to Mr Harry Potter, for pure nerve and outstanding courage, I award 60 points" Harry smile to himself. Grace gives him a hug since he's sitting next to her.
"We are tied with Slytherin" Hermione says.
"It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends, I award Neville Longbottom 10 points" Dumbledore says. I look at Neville and he looks shocked.
"Assuming my calculation are correct, I believe a change of decoration is in order" Dumbledore says and he clapped his hands and the Slytherin decorations changed to Gryffindor.
"Gryffindor wins the House Cup" he says, and we all start cheering, the other tables did too. Well apart from Slytherin, who just sat there looking grumpy. I look at Draco and he looks angry, which make this win even more enjoyable.
It's the end of the school year which means it's time to go home, something I'm not looking toward too, but we don't have a choice, I know Harry feel the same about going home too, but it's summer so that mean going to the park and seeing Rob.
The train ride home was nice, we talked, laughed, played chess, eat sweets and just had a nice time, once the train was over all got our trunks and walked to the gateway.
"You must come and stay this summer, all of you" Ron says.
"Thanks, I will need something to look towards too" Harry says smiling.
"I would love too" Hermione says.
"We would too, but mom and dad would never let us" I say and he gives me a sad look.
"Maybe my mom and dad could talk to them" Ron says.
"Maybe" I say as we all walk through the gateway back to the Muggle world.
"Look, there's mom and Ginny" Ron says pointing to them.
She smiles at us and we walk over. "Busy year?" she asks.
"You have now idea" Harry says smiling.
I look at her. "Thank you for mine and Grace's jumper."
"Yeah and mine too" Harry says.
"Oh, it was nothing" she says smiling.
"You boy, are you ready to go?" we turned around and saw Vernon, Petunia and Dudley standing there looking scared. Vernon looks at me and Grace. "You two are coming too."
We say good bye to everyone and walk over to Vernon. "Get in quickly, before someone sees" he says pushing us in the back of the car.
The drive back home was tense, Dudley was scared of me and Harry, he even looked scared of Grace, something that me and Harry found funny. Has we got closer and closer to home, my heart started beating faster and faster, I thought it was going to fall out my chest at one point.
We pull up in the drive way and everyone got out the car, Vernon got our trunks out the car. I can feel myself shaking, Harry walked over to me and Grace and hugged us tight.
"Call me on the talkie walkie anytime you want, day or night and I will always answer" he whispers.
"I will and same to you" we pull apart and I drag our trunks over the grass and up to our front door, Grace is holding Daisy in her cage.
I knock on the door, we weren't waiting long for it to open, I look and see mom and dad standing there, they are both sober.
"My babies" mom says giving us a hug, we hug her back. We pull apart, then dad hugs us, something he hasn't done in years.
Me and Grace didn't want to let him go, but he roughly pulled away from us. "Get in quick" I go to get our trunks, but he stops me. "No, I'll get them. You two just get inside" I nod and we walk inside.
Dad put mine and Grace's trunk in my room, then he told us to stay in there and not to come down stairs, we nodded and did as we were told, as once as dad left my room, I locked the door.
"Sissy, I'm hungry."
"I think I've got a chocolate frog in my trunk" I lie it down on the floor and open it and see some sandwiches, two chocolate frogs and two bottles of water, there's also a note. I pick it up and read it to myself.
'Enjoy, love Hermione x'
I smile at the note, now I know why she told to open my trunk when I'm alone, she probably thought mom and dad would steal the food, and she would have been right.
"Here baby girl, it's from Hermione" I say handing her the stuff.
"Thank you Hermione" Grace says smiling. We sit on my bed and start eating.
"Crazy eyes, are you there?" I hear Harry say on the talkie walkie, I smile and pick it up off my night stand.
"I'm here, everything ok?"
"Uncle Vernon has locked up Hedwig because he doesn't want me sending letters to my freaky little friends, that's what he calls them by the way, not me."
"That's awful, she's going to get bored."
"She all ready is. How are you anyway? How was your mom and dad?" Harry asks.
"They are fine, they didn't really talk to us. Dad told us to get up stairs and to be quite."
"At least that's all they did."
"It won't stay like this though."
"I know crazy eyes. Do you and Grace want to go to the park and Rob's tomorrow?" Harry asks.
"We would love to, but I don't have any money for Rob's."
"It's ok, I turned some of my wizard money into Muggle money, it will be my treat" he says.
"You don't have too."
"I know, I want too."
"Thank you lightning, you're the best."
"I know" I smile to myself. "I've been thinking" Harry says.
"About what?"
"About going to Ron's, I'm thinking about not going."
"What? Why? I hope you're not staying because of me and Grace."
"Well, yeah, kind of."
"Harry, you really don't have too, we will be fine."
"But what if your dad hurts you?"
"You staying here won't change that, he still will do it because" I sigh, "to be honest, I don't know why he dose it."
"It's the drink that's what it is."
"I know lightning, but please don't stay for me and Grace, we will be fine."
"Ron probably won't send a letter for a bit anyway, so until then I'm all yours" I smile.
"That sounds lovely" I look at Grace and I see that she's gone to sleep. "Grace has gone to sleep."
"Bless her, she's had a long day."
"I think this year as been the best year of her life and mine to be honest."
"Same with me. I can't wait to go back."
"Same, I wonder if we will have an normal year?" I ask.
"I hope we do, it would be nice to relax and not have to fight a troll or almost get killed by a teacher" I laugh a little
"Hopeful we don't have none of that next year."
"Yeah, a normal year would be nice."
"It would" I say, really hoping we get a normal year.
"What time do you want to meet tomorrow?" Harry asks.
"Erm, how about half 12."
"Half 12 is great."
"Ok lightning, I'm going to get some sleep now."
"Ok crazy eyes, good night."
"Good night, have a nice sleep."
"You too" I put the walkie talkie on my night stand and close my eyes and go to sleep.
It's the next morning and me and Grace are off to meet Harry. Mom and dad have gone out for the day, I don't know where, they left at 7 this morning with a note saying 'Be back at 10 tonight, feed yourselves and don't wreck the house or else you will be in trouble'
"Ready to go Grace?"
"yeah, I just need to get rainbow and teddy" she grabs them on the bed whilst I give Daisy a treat. "See you later Daisy" I say and she meows.
"Bye Daisy" Grace says stroking her head, we leave the room and I lock it behind me. We head downstairs and put our shoes on and leave the house.
I knock on Harry's door and we wait for him to open it, we wasn't waiting when we hear the door open, I look and see Harry and Dudley fighting at who opens the door.
"Crazy eyes" Harry says. "Freaky eyes" Dudley says, but they ended up saying it together.
"Lighting, Diddykins" I say. Harry smiles at me whilst Dudley glares at me.
"Harry" Grace says as she gives him a hug.
"Hey Grace, you ready to go to the park?"
"I'm ready, I'm going to play on everything."
"Come on then, let's go" she pulls away from Harry and holds his hand.
"Have fun, freaks" Dudley says smirking.
Harry turns around and looks at him. "Jiggery wiggle, hocus pocus" he pulls out his wand and pointed it at him, Dudley gasped loudly and run in the house slamming the door behind him. Me, Harry and Grace looked at each other and started laughing.
"I love doing that" Harry says grinning.
"I can see why" I say laughing.
"But you can't do magic Harry" Grace says looking a little worried.
"Don't worry Grace, that wasn't a real spell and I would never do magic outside of school" Harry says and she smiles at him.
We finally make it to the park and Grace is in her happy place, she really did play on everything, after she's finished playing, we go to Ron's café.
Harry opens the door and we walk in. "My 3 favourite customs, or should I say my 2 favourite witches and my 1 favourite wizard" we smile at him. "So, how's your new school?" he asks.
We sit down and tell him all about our year at Hogwarts. "Wow guys, you did go through a lot this year. Well I'm glad you're still here to tell your story."
"Me too, Rob" Harry says.
"And me" Grace said happily.
"Right, you 3 pick your food and you can have it on the house."
"You don't have to do that" I say.
"I want too, I've missed seeing you 3 everyday" we nod and pick our food. I got pizza, chips and peas, Grace got fish fingers, chips and beans and Harry got hamburger and chips, then Rob said we could have some ice cream, but only if we ate all our dinner, which we did.
We said goodbye to Rob and thanked him for our food, then headed home.
"Thanks for walking us home" I say as we stop outside our front door.
"It's no problem" I give him a hug. "Walkie talkie, anytime, day or night" he says.
"I know and same to you" we pull apart, then Grace gives him a hug.
"Goodbye Harry."
"Goodbye Grace" they pull apart and Harry walks over to his house and walked through his door. I take the house key out my bag and open the front door. We take our shoes off and go to walk upstairs, but stop when we hear dad say. "Get in the living."
Grace looks at me. "It will be ok, I will protect you the best I can" she nods and holds my hand and we walk into the living room and see mom and dad sitting on the chair with empty wine bottles around them.
Dad stands up and walks over to us, we move back a little. He's drunk, I can smell it on him. I look at mom, she's just sitting there watching.
"Where have you been?"
"With Harry."
"And where's your note?"
"I-I didn't leave one because you said you wasn't going to be home until 10 and it's only 8."
"You should always leave a note" dad shouts before slapping me across the face.
I feel Grace grip my hand. "I'm sorry dad."
He looks at Grace and I move in front of her, dad narrows his eyes at me. "What are you doing?"
"Stopping you from hurting her."
"You think you can stop me?"
"I will try, you're not hurting her, she's a little girl."
"She's my little girl, which means I can do what I want" dad says.
"You should love your little girl, not hurt her."
"Who said I didn't love her?"
"Your actions say that you don't. You don't hurt the people you're meant to love" I see dad clench his fits.
He went to hit me but stopped and ran upstairs and I heard him slam the bathroom door shut, I'm guessing to be sick. I quickly grab Grace's hand and we run upstairs and lock ourselves in our room.
"That was close" I whisper to myself.
"You ok sissy?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
I hear a little meow, I look and see Daisy on my bed.
"Hey Daisy" Grace says stroking her head. "Sissy, where is Daisy's toy."
"It's …" I say looking around "... here" I pick it off the nightstand and handed it to her and she starts playing with Daisy.
I smile at them, then I sit at my desk and pull out my Potions homework, parchment paper, quill and ink. I hate using a quill, the ink runs out so fast. I don't understand why we don't just use a paper and pen, it would be so much easier.
I look at Grace and Daisy and they are still playing, after an hour and half I'm done, I don't understand half the things I've written down, but at least I've done it, I put it back in my bag and look at Grace who's sitting next to me colouring.
I look on the wall and it's half 9. "Come on baby girl, it's time for bed."
She nods and goes to get her pyjamas and starts putting them on, she gets into bed with rainbow and teddy.
"Sissy, I'm ready for my story."
"Ok, what would you like?"
"My favourite book."
"Grace and the dozy dinosaur it is then" I say smiling.
I pull the book off the shelf and lie next to Grace and start reading, I've got 2 pages left, but I look at her and she's already asleep, I kiss her forehead and pull the blanket it over.
It's the next morning and I'm just walking to the bathroom when I get pulled into dad's room. Oh shit!
He pushes me up the wall and stands in front of me. "Thought you got away with talking back to me yesterday, didn't you?" I don't say anything. "Well, think again" he grabs my arm and pulls me over to the bed.
He goes to grab the pillow and I go to run, but he grabs me by the hair and pulls me back. "Nice try!"
"No, get off me."
"Shut up" he pushes me down on the bed and covers me with a pillow.
Everything hurts by the time he's finished, he forgot himself twice and hit me across the face. I walk into the bathroom and look in the mirror, I've got a cut lip, and a bruised right cheek.
I left up my top and I've got bruises on my stomach and a big bruise on the bottom of my back from where he literally kicked me out the room.
I slide down the door and just cry, I couldn't stop the tears, so I just let it all out.
You know what hurt the most, it wasn't the hitting, I mean obviously that hurt, but it was the fact that he wasn't even drunk. He knew exactly what he was doing, there wasn't any drink clouding his judgment, he wanted to hurt me, just because he wanted too. It wasn't the drink making him turn nasty this time. This time it was all him.
