JJ and Hotch head over to the podium that had been set up by the PD. Reporters are in a mob, with cameras flashing and microphones jutting out like ornaments on a christmas tree.
JJ approaches the podium first and gestures for the din to quiet. JJ has her FBI jacket on- she wanted to look official and Hotch is in his ever present suit and tie.
JJ would be actually scared to see Hotch in anything else. She didn't imagine Hotch even owned casual clothes. He probably slept in a three piece suit. She's kind and soft, yet she powerfully commands the crowd. They hang on to her every word
JJ: Hello. I understand that there are many questions and concerns surrounding this case and I want to clarify;
She pauses for effect
JJ: The FBI nor The French Lick Police Department has come up with any sort of nickname for this unsub. We call him what he is: A murderer.
JJ: Second, the FBI recommends those in the victim pool to go about their lives, but proceed with caution. If you see something, say something. We've set up a tip line and any information is greatly appreciated. I'd like to offer the stand to my colleague, BAU Unit Chief Aaron Hotchner.
JJ steps back and allows Hotch to step forward. He whispers "thanks" and approaches the podium.
Hotch: We have a preliminary profile to share. If you recognize anything from this profile, don't hesitate to call the tipline; however this profile is just that- a profile. It's not an accusation, the Bureau isn't pointing fingers.
Hotch: The unsub is young, probably a 25 -35 year old white male who most likely has a violent criminal record- possibly domestic violence or other types of assault issues.
Hotch pauses to give the reporters a chance to catch up
Hotch: He probably has a menial job, possibly a janitor and no more than a high school diploma. He would have anger issues and it would be obvious to anyone who knew him that he has a temper. If you know anyone who fits this description, or of someone who might have heard or seen something, again please contact the tipline.
Hotch continues to talk but the camera zooms out, his voice fades and the scene ends.
