Be honest here, we all know that Beck and Jade resolve fights by not really solving anything. Fights between them always ends up with Jade distancing herself from Beck, it's her way of protecting herself. But sometimes when she realizes that she's the one wrong, she never says sorry, instead she gets more distance with the other side. Jade is like that because, she's scared and instead of them distancing theirself to her, she's already doing it for them.
Anyway, thank you for reading. I'm thinking of changing the summary, again. And sorry for the late update, I've been busy. thank you for reading and always leave a review, it keeps me alive.
Disclaimer: I don't own Victorious.
The next morning, Beck woke up with a blanket and a pillow. He realizes he fell asleep in front of Jade's door. He checks on Jade but she's nowhere to be found. He just decided to shower, since he's going to be late, and just deal with the girl if he still has time after.
On the other apartment, Cat and Robbie are waiting for Tori to finish getting ready.
"Why are you rushing me?" The girl said.
"Because we always eat breakfast in Jade's apartment and I want to know what happened last night. So move faster." Robbie said.
"You know you should stop hanging out with Jade. You're starting to sound like her." Tori exclaimed. She left her room and appeared in front of the scowling Robbie.
"Who should I hangout with? You? I'd rather die." The guy said before he left the apartment. Tori look back at Cat who just gave her a shrug. She's confused, 'is it a joke? Because it somewhat feel personal.'
Jade just came from a morning run. She bumped into everyone before coming inside the apartment. She groaned the minute she saw Tori with them.
"What's for breakfast?" Cat asked as soon as they are inside the apartment.
"A slimmy, small covered in blood with a pinch of parasite, your brain." Jade said with a serious face that give goosebumps to Tori.
"Ew. You're not even scary. " Cat rebuts.
"Oh, you know what's scary-"
Cat started screaming to block Jade's voice. Jade just laughed at her. She pulled out a pan from the oven and place on the counter in front of Cat.
"Yey! Cupcakes!" The girl picked one and hurriedly bite into it. A second passed and the girl goes running towards the bathroom and puke.
"What did you put in there?" Robbie asked. He's looking at the cupcakes trying to spot their differences.
"Wasabi."
He sigh. If Jade put wasabi inside that means that they won't be able to see. "How many?" Robbie asked to know what chances would he get a wasabi filled cupcake.
"Four." Jade said. There are twelve cupcakes and four of the has wasabi in it. So that means he has 33% chance of getting the disgusting cupcake.
Tori picked while Robbie is still observing the cupcakes. "I'll take this one." She picked the middle one. Unlike Cat she run towards the sink and rinsed her tongue.
"How many cupcakes have spicy sauce in there?" Robbie immediately asked.
"Four."
"Now I only have 33% of getting a decent cupcake." He didn't think, he just picked anything. He bite into it and immediately spit it after tasting the toothpaste.
"I ate mine so give us the decent cupcakes." Robbie said. Jade just shrug. Leaning on the counter she picked one from the pile and eat it. The guy was bewildered when the girl didn't puke or anything while eating the cupcake.
"You told us there are 4 wasabi cupcakes, 4 with spicy sauce and 4 with toothpaste. How are you fine eating that one?" Robbie exclaimed. Tori was back on her seat throwing daggers at Jade.
"I did told you but doesn't mean its true." Jade replied. Cat is back at the counter. She's toying with the toothpaste cupcake that Robbie got, she thinks it taste delicious. Jade immediately stood properly when Beck appear from the room.
He walked towards Jade. When Jade didn't move away, he took it as a sign and wrapped his arms around her and pinned her between the counter and him. "I'm sorry."
She rolled her eyes. Beck chuckled and said, "I'm late. I'll pick you up after work so wait for me." He left after giving her a peck. They don't have filming today but Beck has to practice a scene while Jade is needed in the office.
"That's it? You're back together again?" Tori said after she make sure that Beck is already gone.
"Don't be dumb. He's back to courting me. Are you sad?" Jade said.
"What? Why would I be sad?"
Jade walked towards her, she leans so they are face to face. "Because your stupid plan didn't work. You should know by now that nothing can seperate Beck from me."
"I didn't plan anything." Tori said. Jade smile and turn around to go to her room.
Tori mustered all the power she has in her and said, "And if I plan something the next thing you know he's not yours anymore. I'm not giving up. I'll do everything to make Beck see that you're not what he deserves."
"Good. But don't expect to win." She stood up straight. While still not taking her eyes of Tori, she said, "Oh, Robbie, there is no cupcake filled with toothpaste, that is mint. I asked Cat to act like the cupcakes are awful. Only Tori has one, I figured that she'll pick the center one. And she did." She said without looking back at Tori.
As promised, Beck showed up at the parking lot of The View Broadcasting and drives Jade home. At the car ride a deafening silence could be heard.
"If you want to say something you can just talk like a normal person and stop opening and closing your mouth like an out of a sea, suffocated fish." Jade notices for the passed five minutes, the guy keep on giving her a side glances and opens his mouth like he wants to say something then closes it when he cowardly decided to just shut up.
"I'm sorry."
"Okay, I'm up to number 18. Say that again, two times, and I'll make you pay with your body and soul." The reply changes the atmosphere inside the car.
"You're not mad at me?" Beck doesn't know if he has powers to ruin the mood by just opening his mouth or the girl's silence means a different thing.
"Look, I-"
"Why would I be? She's right. I don't deserve you and you don't deserve a girl like me. But who cares?! We live in the 21st century now, life's a full of cliche. Rich popular guy fall in love with an ugly poor girl, does that mean they don't deserve each other? No, they fought for their love and that's how they know they deserve each other."
"Does that mean you love me?"
"Don't get ahead of yourself, Oliver." Jade said. That's how Beck knows that he took a step forward and the girl didn't step backward.
Jade was scouting the area for a decent coffee. She need coffee, badly. She's been awake for the past 29 hours 'cause the filming took longer than expected and since the premier is around the corner, she can't afford to sleep right now.
The past 15 cafe she's been through, neither one has a decent coffee, it's either watery or it tastes like sugar. She left the filming site to get coffee and she took Beck's car with her. She's been away for two hours, she already invested hours so she won't be backing away without a decent coffee.
"Great, be in a city with more than a dozen cafe but no one can serve a decent coffee." As if on time, she saw another cafe. "Oh, another coffee shop, bet what their coffee taste like?" Jade muttered to herself. She parked the car and proceed inside.
She was lining up for a cup of coffee when ger phone buzzed, its a message from an unknown number.
Executive Producer and Producer of a long awaited new series, shaking up behind the scene.
It was a screenshot of a blog post in which includes a picture of Jade and Engrid being cozzy on the couch in one of the lounge at their studio. Below there was a message attached, "What the hell are your doing with your life?"
Still in line, she dialled no. 4 in her emergency contact. "Tell me Dad's phone number." She said as soon as the other side picks up.
"Hello to you, too, my dear sister."
"Jay? What are you doing there? Give the phone to the other twin."
"Well, how nice of you to ask..." The guy from the other line ignored the last sentence and continues to blabber about his day.
It was Jade's turn to order. She put the phone away from her as she recites her order. As soon as she put it back she heard, "You're not listening to me aren't you?"
"Shut up, just give Luke the phone."
After a few rustling, she heard the guy she was looking for. "Tell me dad's number." She didn't even bother to greet back.
"What Dad?" Asked by the guy from the other side. Jade was called as her coffee is done. As soon as the perfect blend of pure coffee hit her taste bud, she sighed.
"Alexander the great." She said sarcastically. After seconds of silence, she realizes the guy is too much like her, "Alexander West."
"-xx997. He texted you? What fight did you start now?"
"First of all, I haven't been in any scandals for the last... 5 months. Second, I don't start a fight. They just made it look like I started it. Lastly, if Jay is with you, that means Sam is also there. Tell him to watch news, because his father and I are the main characters tonight."
After her phone call with her brothers, she sat inside the car looking at her reflection from the rearview mirror. "Looks like its time for a change."
"Where are you?" Beck said patiently. The filming ended an hour ago, the same time he found out that Jade is missing so as his car. He's been calling her for an hour before she picked up.
"Behind you." She replied.
The missing car was now in front of him with a girl impatiently slapping the car's horn. He sighed and walked towards the passenger's seat. He get in the car expecting Jade to be inside.
Jade is indeed inside, but the long brown hair of the girl he picked up this morning is nothing like the girl who is seating in the driver's seat right now.
"Its pretty right?" Jade asked.
Stopping all of Beck conclusion on what happened with her, he answered, "Yeah... Really pretty."
"So you don't like it."
"I didn't say-"
Jade didn't let him finish, "I don't care." She got out, slammed the door and marched towards the unknown.
There's no explanation on why her mood changes as soon as she saw Beck's expression after he saw her new hair. She spent two hours in a salon to cut yer hair and color it black. Jade was so excited for Beck to see it. She ignored all of his calls, so that the guy would be totally be surprise by her transformation but his expression doesn't seem that happy.
Around the block, a hand tugged her. The guy may be wearing a sunglasses, a face mask and a cap but she knows its Beck. She tugged her arm to be release from the hold of the guy but Beck wouldn't let her and that's how the game of tugged of war started in the middle of the streets.
"I'm going to scream if you don't let go of me."
He doesn't want Jade to get hurt but if she's threatening him, he might as well do it. He tugged her so hard that she slammed on his chest.
Jade struggled to be free but Beck just tightened his hold on her. "I like it. I like it so bad that it made me speechless." He started caressing her head. "Now please, let's get back to the car. I'll drive you home. I figured your crankiness has to do with your lack of sleep."
She raised her head to glare at him, "You think I'm cranky?!"
"Sshhh..."
"Do you know why you're here?" The guy sitting in the middle of the room said as soon as Jade entered.
She glared at him before sitting down. "Does it involves your hideous shirt?" Jade was called to come to the office of some guy she didn't know exist. She was only given a name, Mr. Kross, and they told her that she's considered fired if she didn't come.
"I'm Stan Kross, the new Head of Human Resource Department." The guy extends his right hand towards the girl. Jade ignored it and continues to observe around the room.
Mr. Kross smiled at the girl, "You know exactly why you're here, Ms. West." The girl shrugged, took a seat in front of him.
The Head of the Department isn't really warm and welcoming regarding Jade's promotion seven years ago. They did everything to hold it back but her achievements made it all possible. Occasionally, they try to make reasons to kick her out of the company. They just didn't know how she was able to fire back to keep her alive. Now that Kross is the new Head, he plans on taking her down, once and for all.
The door opened, Mr. Engrid walked in, the guy Mr. Kross was waiting for. "Get inside, Mr. Engrid."
"Stan, how's the family?" Engrid started with a small conversation. The other guy isn't exactly the kind of person that wants to make small conversation.
"My family is fine and none of your business. Let's go straight ahead with the issue." Kross slammed a folder in front of the two. "I know something was wrong with the two of you, but an office affair? I should have known."
Jade scoffed, "Oh please, you can't take me down with just a single photo, which by the way looks like a normal photo to me." She knows it's only one picture since her dearest father decided to send a copy of the blog post with tge picture to her. She snatched the folder and rakes the file.
Inside the folder is not just a single photo, it's more than one photo. Photos of the two of them together, Jade leaving his house, everything that could make anyone believe that the rumor is true.
The phone suddenly rings, breaking the silence. "Hello... What?!" Kross opened his laptop and rummages through it.
After the phone call, Kross looked at them. Panic is written all over his face. He turned the device towards them. The screen showcases a paused video. "I think we need to act fast," he then played the video.
Jade can't believe what she is seeing. The man has the guts to make them watch unappropriated video. "Okay, why the hell are we watching porn?"
"Its your sex tape."
She's confused on what's happening, "That's me and who?" Kross gave her a look and pointed towards her other chair beside her. She finally remembers that Engrid was there. He was sitting high and laid back on the chair. He winked when the girl looked at him which made Jade wants to puke.
"First of all ewww. Second, who would want to be his little affair?" She looked at Engrid, "No offense. Third, where the did you get these pictures? Are you stalking me?"
The question drained color to Kross' face. "No." Realization hits Jade. She chuckled.
"So someone gave it to you. Let me guess, that someone works in the company."
The girl was right, someone gave him the folder. It includes pictures of her and a big time producer at the station. They suspect foul play since the start but they can't gather enough evidence to prove their explicit affair. Now that they have one, the girl would be gone. But they never doubted the source, the folder just got delivered to them with an unknown sender.
"The source is not necessary, Ms. West. Since the issue has now reach a worldwide audience, expect every tabloid coming after you. To save company's image, we have to fire one of you." He rose to his feet. "Since Engrid is more valuable to the station, you Ms. West is the one being let go."
"Really? That's the best you could do?"
Kross thought that this would scare the girl. It's a pretty big issue. Articles came out yesterday with different pictures and now a sex tape. This would end her career, but based on her tone, she's is not scared. "What do you mean?"
"I'm a producer, Mr. Kross. Most of my works includes crime genre." Engrid said. He turned the laptop to him. He played it only for a few seconds then he paused it. "What can you see. Mr. Kross?"
"The two of you having sex."
"Beep, wrong answer. Look closer."
The other guy rolled his eyes, "I'm not playing a game with you Mr-"
"I said look closer." Engrid said. This time his voice isn't the normal voice they all heard him use. His voice is now so powerful that you have now choice to follow its order.
Engrid is a cool guy. He plays, he makes jokes, laugh with you, help you, do charity works with you, just doing what a good man does. With this you'll never know what he can do. He fired half of the staff without them knowing he'a the one who fired them. He cheers you up when you get fired but you don't know he's the reason you're fired. He's a dangerous man.
"There's a bed, clothes all over the floor, uhm... A mug is there." Kross pointed the mug on the table beside the bed. "An alarm clock."
"Bingo!" Jade exclaimed.
Engrid gave her a pointed look. He then focused on the other guy who still looks confuse, "What exactly is the date and time written on it?"
"July 14, 2:45 pm." Kross sat back on his seat. He thinks that whatever Engrid is doing, he is just doing it to throw him off Jade. "This has nothing to do with everything."
"It does. If you bothered to look at the employee attendance sheet that Jade put up, you would know." Engrid stood up. He fixed his suit and dusted himself. "We are leaving, if you have a valid evidence feel free to submit it before the press conference of the series, tomorrow afternoon."
