Eir X Oobleck: Meeting of the Minds
(A Saturday afternoon, one hour and fifteen minutes of intellectual jargon.)
Oobleck: Well, well, well, Miss Levinstein, I must say that I am impressed. No, a better to describe my current state of mind would be enraptured. Only you could chart out a strategy this thorough.
Eir: Well, my rapport with team RWBY expedited the process. Knowing opponents is one thing. Knowing opponents intimately is another.
Oobleck: You've even considered all potential combinations, and factored in virtually trivial details, such as quirks and personality, so meticulously. Fascinating. As you may have heard, I've worked with those four in the field, but this would suggest that you've researched them for decades.
Eir: *proudly* I am a tactician after all. I must consider all possible actions, decisions, and outcomes from beginning to end.
Oobleck: *adjusts his glasses* Is that what you've chosen, Miss Levinstein?
Eir: I beg your pardon Professor?
Oobleck: Is that why you enrolled in this school? To be a tactician?
Eir: Of course not. Strategy is my passion, but a Huntress is a profession, and one that, I have found, demands much from me in body, mind, and spirit. I study at this Academy thanks in no small part to a confluence of fates.
Oobleck: *Smiles* And do you think you are up for it?
Eir: It is not a matter of being up for it, but rising up to it. For all the preparations I've done, I am never too settled into my tactical designs. Plans such as these have limits, and to be ignorant of those limits is to turn your back to the crucial reality that victory is never assured by foresight alone. On the battlefield, the only path that matters is the path you've cut for yourself.
Oobleck: (Ah, how quickly this generation grows) Well, Miss Levinstein, I think you've been stewing in this classroom too much. You're free to go. Oh, send my best wishes to Team KEIM. With a mind as hungry as yours, you just might carry Beacon all the way to the top of the Vytal competition! Much luck to you all. I'll be watching from on high.
Eir: *turns to the professor with a nod of acknowledgement* I appreciate the sentiment Professor. *shuts the door behind her*
Oobleck: *contemplative* Well, she seems more cheerful.
It's no secret in Beacon that Eir has caught the attention of Professor Oobleck the moment she set foot into his class. It's pretty clear from this conversation that he's looking out for her, and while he does care for the students in his own eccentric way, he recognizes that this girl is special, and wants to help her grow her talents.
So what about Marth and Korinna? With who among Beacon's faculty do they connect with? The next chapter will answer one of the two, so look out for it when it drops!
