The next morning, Jotaro woke up and stepped out of bed.He dressed up and his door opened and Korra stepped through,already dressed.
"Morning, Jotaro.I'm going to pick up Mako and Bolin.Wanna come?"Korra asked.
"I'll be there."Jotaro replied.
Soon after,the 2 of them were riding Naga to the arena.They ducked under the police tapeline and went inside.Mako and Bolin were taking out all of their stuff.
"I can't believe they're shutting this place down."Mako said.
"Yeah.But we had some good memories,didn't we?"Bolin said in a sad manner.
Just then,Korra and Jotaro arrive in the attic.
"Guys,great news.You don't have to go back on the streets.I talked with Tenzin and made all the arrangements.You can come live at the Air Temple Island with us."Korra said.
"Oh,we'd love to but..."Mako stops talking while scratching his head.
"Asami already invited us to live in her dad's giant mansion!"Bolin said excited making Korra's smile turn to a frown.
"We'll I guess that's gonna be a lap of luxury for you and your brother."Jotaro said.
"Yep!It will!"Bolin said.
Inside the room,there was a bunk with 2 beds.Asami now poked her head out from the top bunk."Oh hey,Korra.I was hoping you'd pop by."
"Hey,Asami."Jotaro greeted.
"Oh,hi,Jotaro.Glad to see you here."Asami said.
"Glad to see you too."Jotaro said.
"We were just leaving.C'mon Jotaro.So,I guess we'll see you guys around...sometime."Korra said.
"Why not tomorrow?I'd love to have you and Jotaro visit the estate."Asami said.
"I don't know.I have some Avatar stuff I need to do."Korra replied.
"Well maybe Jotaro could come then."Asami suggested.
"I'd love to.After all that's happened,I guess it's not too bad to get some rest and relaxation."Jotaro said.
Korra looked at him like he was abandoning her.
Bolin lifted Pabu in front of his face and spoke in a high-pitched voice."C'mon,Korra!We all deserve a little rest and relaxation after all this craziness.We could swim in Asami's pool.It'll be fun!"
Korra chuckled."All right Pabu."
"Great.We'll see you 2 tomorrow."Asami said.
Korra waved and Jotaro nodded.
The police truck smashed through the warehouse door.Metalbenders crashed through the windows.Large crates were all around.On the tables,poster of Amon could be seen.
The officers opened the crates and found Equalist weapons there.
"Looks like our intel was good."Lin said.
"There's enough evidence here to bury Cabbage Corp forever."The officer agreed.
Later at the Cabbage Corp headquarters,officers were leading away the owner of the company.
"This is outrage!I'm innocent!"The owner protested.
Reporters began crowding Lin.
"Is it true that Cabbage Corp is conspiring with the Equalists?"A reporter asked.
"The evidence points in that direction.But the investigation is ongoing.For the time being,we have frozen Mr.Gan-Lan's assets and are closing Cabbage Corp."Lin replied.
"No!Not my Cabbage Corp!"The owner cried.
Meanwhile at the police station,Korra and Jotaro arrive.
"Hey,Korra."A voice said and they see Tahno sitting on a bench.
"Tahno?"Korra asked.
"Isn't that the bastard who won by cheating?"Jotaro asked.
"Yeah.Jotaro,is it okay if I talk to him for awhile?"
Jotaro nodded and stood a few paces away to let them talk.
"Listen,I know we're not exactly best friends,but I'm sorry you lost your bending."Korra said.
"I've been to the best healers in the city.Whatever Amon did to me,it's permanent.You gotta get him for me."Tahno said.
Korra nodded.They looked up as Tenzin and Lin walked with Hiroshi Sato, Asami's father, back from a room.
"Mr. Sato,if you remember anything else about what you saw during Amon's attack,be sure to let us know."Lin said.
"I'm happy to help anyway I can.I want to make these Equalists to pay for what they've done."Hiroshi replied.
Tahno nodded to Korra and walked off.Tenzin turned to Tahno.
"We're ready for you now."Tenzin said.
Tahno got up and smiled at Korra."See you around,Uh-vatar.You too,big guy."Jotaro questioned this but nodded anyway.
The next day,Korra and Jotaro arrive at Asami's mansion.It was gigantic and made of white stone.
Pabu squealed as he jumped into the pool.Bolin was next.
"Earthbending bomb!"Bolin yelled.
A butler led Jotaro and Korra to the pool."Avatar Korra and Jotaro Kujo have arrived."
"Hey,Korra.Hey,Jotaro."Mako greeted them.
"Glad you 2 made it."Asami said.
Bolin surfaced from the pool."Welcome to Paradise."He said.
Korra sat down on a deck chair and Jotaro laid down at the other chair.
"Looks like you guys settled right in."Korra said.
Mako began swimming towards them."Pretty much.Except someone forgot to ask her father if we could stay."
"Yeah,but I soothed it over with him.It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission."Asami said.
"This is the greatest place in the world!Okay,watch this.Watch this."Bolin said as he stepped out of the pool.
Bolin straightened and said in a haughty tone,"Fetch me a towel,my good man."
"Yes,Master Bolin."The butler replied.
"Master Bolin!Hah!I love this guy.Now pat me dry."
"As you wish."The butler said as he quickly brushed him off.
"Don't forget Master Pabu."Bolin said.
"Wouldn't dream of it,sir."The butler replied.
He rubbed Pabu as well and the ferret's fur stood up on all ends.
As the butler was walking off,Bolin jumped back into the pool much to the butler's annoyance.
"So,what do you plan for us today?Let me guess,shopping...makeovers."
Korra said dismayed.
"Ooh,ooh!I vote makeovers!"Bolin said while pushing Mako into the pool but Mako does the same thing.
"Hey,Jotaro!Come here!It's fun!"Bolin yelled.
"I'm fine.Just have your fun."Jotaro replied."By the way,can I get some tea?"He asked the butler.
"As you wish,Master Jotaro."The butler replied.
"I have something a little more exciting in mind."Asami said as she stepped out of the pool.
Later at a racetrack 2 Satomobiles are driving down the track.
"Pretty cool,huh?"Asami asked.
"Way cooler than makeovers."Korra said in agreement.
"Is this where you do some test driving with those Satomobiles?"Jotaro asked.
"Yep.Ever been behind a wheel?"Asami asked.
"The only thing I know how to drive is a polar-bear dog."Korra replied.
"You want me to take you for a spin?"Asami asked.
"Let's do it!"Korra said.
2 Satomobiles stand next to each other and Korra puts on goggles while sitting behind Asami while a man is sitting on the other car and the race starts as a man in blue waves a white flag and Asami falls behind first but keeps fast as Mako and Bolin cheer from the sidelines while Jotaro watches and Asami overtakes the other mobile while her back wheel is grazing the wall and the man tries to keep up but his front wheel and Asami's back wheel touch and his car starts swaying and Asami wins the race and stops the car.
"That was amazing!I didn't think we'd make it."Korra said.
"Well you can't be afraid to mess it up sometimes."Asami said.
"She's not wrong."Jotaro said.
"I gotta admit,I had pegged you wrong.I thought you were kinda prissy.Uh,no offense."Korra said.
Asami chuckled."That's all right.People usually assume that I'm Daddy's helpless little girl but I can handle myself.I mean I've been taking self-defense classes since I was this high."She indicated her height with her hand next to her waist."My dad made sure I would always be able to protect myself."
"Smart guy."Jotaro said.
Korra,Jotaro,Mako,Bolin and Asami return to the inside of the mansion and Bolin rushes through the doors.
"Emergency,emergency coming through,beep,beep!"Bolin said as he ran for the bathroom with his hands covering his groin.
"Uh,is there another bathroom that I can use?"Korra asked.
Asami nodded."We have a ladies powder room upstairs.1st door on your right.You can freshen up in there."
"Thanks."Korra said.
Korra is washing and drying herself and then she picks up a powder sponge while looking at it intensely and then smashes it onto her face and starts choking.Then she leaves the room but then hears Hiroshi's voice.
"No,no,I assure you.Everything is going as planned."
Korra frowned and followed the voice to a pair of large double-doors.She looked through the keyhole.Hiroshi was sitting at a desk,talking on the phone.Korra started listening intently.
Hiroshi continued,"Luckily,the Cabbage Corp investigation has brought us enough time.Trust me,by the end of the week;we'll be ready to strike."He put down the phone.
Korra's eyes widened and she dashed down the stairs.Bolin was being sprayed with something by the butler.Mako and Asami were still in their corner.Jotaro was leaning against a wall while waiting for Korra.
"C'mon,Jotaro!We have to go."Korra said.
"What?"
Asami looked at them with confusion.
"You're leaving?But I thought-"
Korra tried to make up an excuse that wouldn't make her stupid in front of Jotaro.Naturally,she failed.
"Uh,sorry,I forgot,we're supposed to airsit,I mean babybend,I mean we're supposed to babysit the Airbender kids!"She said in a rush.
"Really?"Jotaro asked.
"See you all later!"Korra said.
As soon as they went outside the mansion,Jotaro asked Korra.
"What's going on?Was that an excuse?"
"Yeah.We have to hurry.We need to talk to Tenzin.I'll explain when we see him."
She whistled and Naga came bounding up to them.Korra jumped on and Jotaro did the same.Soon,they found Tenzin and Lin.
"So,you think that Mr.Sato manufactured those gloves for the Equalists,then framed Cabbage Corp?"Tenzin asked.
"Korra,you can't just say that with insufficient evidence."Jotaro said."Besides,won't he release a new set of Satomobiles?"
"What proof do you have?"Lin asked.
"Well,I don't exactly have proof.But I know what I heard.Sato's up to something."Korra said.
"He does have the means.And he has a motive."Lin said.
"That's right."Tenzin said.
"A motive?What is it?"Korra asked.
"12 years ago,the Agni Kai Triad robbed Sato's mansion.A Firebender killed Sato's wife during the break in."Tenzin explained.
"That's terrible."Korra said.
"It was tragic.It's possible that Sato has harbored anti-bending sentiment this whole time."Tenzin said.
"If he is,then he'll pay for his crimes.But right now,we can't really confirm whether Hiroshi's an Equalist or not."Jotaro said.
"Maybe we should look at Mr.Sato a little more closely."Lin said.
At the Sato Mansion,the butler opens the doors allowing Korra,Jotaro,Tenzin and Lin to enter the mansion and Tenzin and Lin go upstairs while Jotaro and Korra follow them while passing Mako and Asami.
"What's going on?Why are they asking Hiroshi more questions?"Mako asked.
"Korra heard Hiroshi on the phone yesterday.Jotaro said.
"Asami,I don't know how to tell you this;but I think your father might be involved with the Equalists."Korra said.
"What?!I don't believe this!"Asami said as she goes upstairs.
Mako was furious."You spied on Hiroshi?What's your problem?"Mako said as he goes after Asami.
Korra looked at Mako sadly.Jotaro put his hand on Korra's shoulder.
"Relax.If you're right about this,Hiroshi's going to get what's coming to him.We're just here to ask questions.Nothing more."Jotaro said and Korra nodded weakly in reply.
Inside Hiroshi's office,Lin and Tenzin are talking to Hiroshi.
"Mr.Sato,we just have follow-up questions for you."Lin said.
The double-doors of the office flew open and Asami came through them.
"My father is innocent!Just because we're not benders,doesn't mean we support those awful Equalists."Asami said angrily.
"Equalists?Is that what this is about?I can assure you,I have nothing to do with these radicals."Hiroshi said.
Mako,Korra and Jotaro stepped into the room.
"Yeah,you don't know what you're talking about,Korra."Mako said.
She ignored him and pointed at Hiroshi.
"I overheard you on the phone.You said the Cabbage Corp investigation bought you time and you were getting ready to strike.Explain that."Korra said.
Hiroshi laughed and smiled."This has all been a misunderstanding.Resulting from the young Avatar's overactive imagination.My number 1 competitor was knocked out of the game.It's providing me to 'strike the market' with a new line of Sato-mobiles.It's just business.Nothing nefarious."
"Really?Then why don't we take a look at your factories and warehouses?"Jotaro asked making Asami scoff annoyed but Hiroshi stops her.
"If you feel it's necessary,you're welcome to search all of Future Industries."Hiroshi said.
Over the next few days,Lin and her police force searched every Future Industries building,warehouse,and factory in the city.But they found nothing.
1 night,Lin,Tenzin,Jotaro and Korra stood outside the last warehouse.
"I can't believe we didn't find anything."Korra said.
"It would appear Hiroshi is innocent."Lin said.
"Although it remains to be seen."Jotaro said.
Just then,Asami and Mako arrive.They were still mad.
"Okay,you did your search.Now you can all leave."Asami said firmly.
"Hmph."Lin said.
Mako gestured Korra and they moved away a few paces to talk.
"So,I hope you're convinced now."Mako said.
"No,I'm not!I don't care how cooperative Hiroshi is being.I know he's lying."Korra said.
"Why are you doing this?Are you that jealous of me and Asami?"
"What?Don't be ridiculous!That has nothing to do with it!"
"If you don't drop this,consider our friendship over."
"I'm sorry.Hiroshi is not the man you think he is."
"Hmph."Mako said as he walks away to Asami and they leave making Korra sigh.
"He'll understand once we uncover the truth."Jotaro said.
"Just forget him,Jotaro."
"Look,I know you're sad about what Mako said but we have bigger issues to deal with."
Korra sighed and walked sadly over to Naga as a man closed the warehouse doors.
The man looked at her and came up behind her.He slipped a note into her hand and disappeared into the crowd of workers.
Korra looked up with a start.But only people there with workers.She frowned,and looked at the note.Then she went to Lin,Tenzin and Jotaro.
"I think you guys should hear this.If you want to find the truth,meet me under the north end of Silk Road Bridge at midnight."Korra said.
"How'd you know it's not a trap?"Jotaro asked.
"I don't.I'll just have to it for myself."Korra replied
It's nighttime and Korra,Jotaro,Tenzin and Lin arrive at the north end of Silk Road Bridge.
"Well,this is the place.So where is he?"Jotaro asked.
A man's voice caused their heads to turn."Psst!Over here!"
He stepped out of the light,dressed in a hat and a trench coat.They walked over to him.
"Listen,I joined the Equalists because I believed in what Amon said.I thought he could make life better for us non-benders.But I didn't sign up for this-this war."The man said.
"What do you have on Hiroshi Sato?"Lin asked.
"He manufactured those gloves for the Equalists."
"I knew it."Korra said.
"And,there are rumors he's working on something even bigger;some kind of new weapon."The man continued.
Tenzin frowned."We searched all of Future Industries and found nothing."
"That's because he has a secret factory."
"Where?"Jotaro asked.
"It's right underneath the Sato Mansion."
Korra,Lin and Tenzin all gasped.Jotaro was concerned about whether Asami knew about this factory or not.
Later,Korra,Jotaro,Tenzin and Lin are on a police airship.
"Raiding the Sato Mansion is a risky move with Tarrlok breathing down your neck.If we're wrong..."Tenzin stops talking.
"I know,I can kiss my job goodbye,but protecting Republic City is all I care about.We can't let Amon get his hands on this new weapon."Lin said.
Inside the mansion,Asami is sitting in the living room while Bolin is eating fruit from a bowl while Mako takes out an LP from the cover and shows it to Asami and just then,metalbender cops burst into the room making Bolin raise his hands in fear.
"What are you doing here?"Asami asked.
"We have a reason to believe that there's a factory hidden below the mansion."Lin said.
"I think I would've noticed if there was a factory underneath my house.The lies you people come up with just to persecute my father."Asami said.
"Where is your father?"Tenzin asked.
"In his workshop,behind the house."Asami answered.
Everyone arrives at the workshop and the metalbender cops guard the area while the other ones burst in to find no one in the room.
"Dad?Hello?"Asami called.
1 of the officers came up to them."Chief,the estate's been secured.No one has left the workshop since we arrived.
Lin narrowed her eyes."Perhaps we couldn't just see him leaving."
She moved to the centre of the room.The metal on the bottom of her foot contracted and she slammed her now bare foot on the ground.Vibrations came out from her foot and appeared in her mind's eye.
"There's a tunnel beneath the workshop running deep into the mountainside."Lin said.
"What?There's no tunnel."Asami said.
Lin concentrated and bent the metal on the floor.It came up to reveal a staircase and an elevator leading underground.Asami looked shocked.
Bolin whispered to her ear."Do you think your dad knows about this tunnel?"
"I don't understand.There must be an explanation."Asami said.
"Maybe you don't know everything about your father.I'm sorry."Korra said.
Jotaro didn't have the heart to say anything.
"Officers,into the tunnel.Be cautious."Lin said as the officers start walking down the stairs and Mako,Bolin and Asami followed but they were stopped.
"Uh-uh.You 3 stay up here.Officer Song,keep an eye on them."Lin said and Song salutes.Jotaro also followed but he is stopped by Korra.
"Jotaro,I think you should stay here as well."Korra said.
"Seriously?"Jotaro asked.
"I don't know what's down there and I can't risk putting you in danger.Besides,Asami might need your company."Korra said.
Jotaro sighed."Alright.Stay safe."
Korra takes one more look at the 4 and Mako turns his head in guilt and the elevator takes the group down until it stops and they carefully walk into a massive room that have poster of Amon hanging up and there were large robotic machines around.
"Not your average workshop."Lin said.
"And I'm guessing those are the new weapons."Korra said,looking at the machines.
"Hiroshi was lying alright,but where is he?"Tenzin asked.
Just then,a metal door shoots up and blocks the entrance.
Upstairs the 4 hear the noise.
"What was that?"Bolin asked.
"Doesn't sound good to me."Jotaro said.
"We need to get down there and see what's going on."Mako said.
"Absolutely not.You're staying put until the chief comes back."Song replied but Jotaro ignores him.
Jotaro starts walking down the staircase making Song grab his shoulder.
"Hey,are you even listening,young man?I told you to stay-"Song was interrupted as Jotaro punches him in the face,knocking him out,shocking Mako,Bolin and Asami.
He knocked him out.With 1 punch!*Bolin thought.
Soon after,Jotaro ties Song up.
"Sorry for doing that but I can't let anything bad happen to my friends."Jotaro said.
The 4 of them went to the staircase.Mako stopped and turned to Asami.
"Asami,you should stay here.We'll check it out."Mako said.
"I have to find out the truth about my father."Asami insisted.
"I understand.That's why I'm going down-to find out for you.Please."
"Hey,Mako.Are you coming down or what?"Jotaro called.
"I'll be there.Gotta go."
"Alright.Be careful."Asami said.
Jotaro,Mako and Bolin walk down the stairs and Mako takes one more look at Asami.
Meanwhile,Lin tries to metalbend the wall but nothing happened.Then,they heard Hiroshi's voice over a speaker.
"I'm afraid you won't be able to metalbend that wall,Chief Beifong.It's solid platinum."Hiroshi said.
The machines on either side of the room turned on and green lights forced them to shield their eyes.Hiroshi was inside one of them and the machines started to surround them.
"My mecha-tanks are platinum as well.Not even your renowned mother could bend a metal so pure."Hiroshi said.
"Hiroshi,I knew you were a lying,no good Equalist!Come out and-"Korra was cut off.
"And do what,young Avatar?Face the wrath of your bending?No.I think I'll fight from inside here where my odds are a little more...equal."Hiroshi said.
"That source was a setup!You lured us down here!"Lin said.
"Guilty as charged."Hiroshi said.
The tanks backed up against a wall.Hiroshi grinned and thrust forward.A cable shot out from his tank's head and nearly hit them.Korra and Tenzin jumped out of the way.
One of the tanks smashed the ground where a group of officers were standing.The cops rolled and fired their cables at the tank and tried to bring it down.
Lin dodged an attack and leapt up.2 blades came from her wrists and slammed the blades into the tank.She started stabbing the head of the body but the Equalist who's piloting it kept dodging her attacks until he accidentally backed the tank against the wall.
Hiroshi grimaced and advanced on Korra.She sent several blasts of fire at him but they did no good.Tenzin came to her defense and forced the tank back with a few shots of air.
The officers were struggling to hold their ground.However,the Equalists have 1 trick up their sleeve.They wrapped around the cables around their arms and sent arc of electricity traveling down the cables and electrocuted all of the officers.
Lin gasped and tried to help but a cable grabbed her from behind and sent her flying into a wall,knocking her out.
Tenzin and Korra continued fighting Hiroshi with a mix of fire and air.Hiroshi growled and fired a cable at Korra.Korra dodged it but was hit by another cable and was slammed into a metal pipe.
"Korra!"Tenzin cries as he uses his Airbending to cushion Korra's fall.
Tenzin was now the only one left.He fights off using his Airbending and an air wheel to dodge their attacks.He jumps up to attack Hiroshi but he fired a bola combined with an electrical disc at Tenzin.Electricity coursed through him and he fell to the ground.
Hiroshi smiled and got out of his mecha-tank.Then,the Lieutenant joins him.
"Well,I'd say that was a nearly flawless test run.We only lost 1 tank.Load everyone into the transports and deliver them to Amon."Hiroshi ordered.
The Equalists started with the officers.They tied them up and threw them into the vans.
Bolin,Jotaro,and Mako peered out behind a pipe.
"Oh no."Bolin said.
"Korra was right.We have to do something."Mako said.
"Help me get them."Jotaro said.
Jotaro carries Korra on his back while Mako carries Lin and Bolin carries Tenzin.
"Not so fast boys."A voice said and all 3 of them looked to see Hiroshi with the Lieutenant and Hiroshi is wearing one of the electric gloves.
"Hello,Mr.Sato.Wow,what a really swell,scary factory you have here in your giant mansion."Bolin said.
"Sponsoring our team,supporting the Avatar."Mako said hatefully.
"It was all just a big frickin' cover."Jotaro said.
"Yes and the most difficult part was watching my daughter traipse around with a firebending street rat like you!"Hiroshi yelled.
Hiroshi and the Lieutenant advanced with their weapons ready to strike them.Jotaro almost activated Star Platinum until they heard a voice.
"Dad,stop!"
They all turned with surprise to see Asami standing there with tears in her eyes.
"Why?"Asami asked.
"Sweetie,I wanted to keep you out of this for as long as I could.But now you know the truth,please forgive me."Hiroshi said.
Korra started to regain consciousness.
"These people...these benders.They took away your mother-the love of my life.They've ruined the world!But with Amon,we can fix it and build a perfect world together.We can help people like us everywhere."Hiroshi said as he took off his electric glove."Join me,Asami."
Asami began walking towards them.She took the glove and puts it on.
"No."Mako said.
"Dammit."Jotaro said.
"I love you,Dad."Asami said as she looked at her father.
Then she pressed the glove to his chest and electrocuted him.The Lieutenant charges forward with his sticks but Asami electrocutes him too.Korra,Mako and Bolin were shocked by this while Jotaro is impressed.
Just then,the tanks and the Equalists attack the group.
"Let's get out of here!"Jotaro cried.Bolin made a hole in the ground and all of them jumped in and escaped.
Everyone is back on the police airship and Asami stared at her former home with sadness while Lin is laying down on a bed with Tenzin standing protectively over her.
"My metalbenders are on their way to Amon.And it's my fault.Tarrlok's right.I've failed as Chief.1st thing in the morning,I'm handing in my resignation."Lin said.
"No!You can't give up like this!"Tenzin cried.
"I'm not giving up.I'm going to find my officers and take Amon down.But I'm going to do it my way.Outside the law."Lin said.
Mako came up where Korra and Jotaro were standing.
"I'm sorry I didn't believe in you.But Asami's dad being an Equalist is not an easy thing to believe,even now."Mako said.
"I know.I'm sorry this whole thing happened."Korra said.
"So,does your offer to live at Air Temple Island still stand?"Mako asked.
"Of course it does.And Asami's welcome too."Korra said with a smile.
"Thank you so much.Both of you."Mako said.
Korra put his hand her hand on his shoulder.
"After everything she's been through,she's going to need you Mako."Korra said and Mako nods.
Mako walks over to Asami and puts his hand on Asami's shoulder and Asami cries at the sight of him and hugged him tightly.Korra looked at the couple sadly.Then she turns to Jotaro.
"Hey,Jotaro?"
"Hm?"
"Is it ok if I have a sparring session with you?"
Jotaro was surprised."Are you sure?"
"Yeah.I just want to see how strong you are."
"Korra,listen.My Stand has abilities that no one in this world can possess.Are you really sure you want to spar with me?"Jotaro asked.
"Yep.Just don't beat me up to a pulp ok?"
Jotaro sighed."Fine.But don't say I didn't warn you."
Korra smiled."Great!Since you're an early bird,let's spar early in the morning before Mako,Bolin and Asami arrives."
"Good grief."Jotaro said as he lowered his cap.
