Chapter 8
Hello all Storm here with a new chapter! Here we'll be seeing the official start of the Cell Games and the first match up between Cell and Goku, with a lot of difference to the canon version, along with a very different conclusion as well. So, without further ado.

Not long after leaving Capsule Corp, the Androids and Trunks soon met up with Goku, Gohan and Piccolo, on the way to the Cell Games.
"Hey guys! Are you all ready?" Goku asked.
"As I'll ever be." Trunks replied, having been worried that even with all their training in the time chamber that there's still a chance they wouldn't be able to beat Cell.
The only thing they could do, was try their best, and hope they could beat him.
"Ready to smash a bug." Lapis stated, eager to get some payback against Cell for absorbing him and his sister, either personally or just enjoying watching him get knocked around.
"What about you guys?" Naruto asked, as they began flying off towards the arena.
"We're ready. I just hope our training pays off." Gohan replied.
"It will. But no matter what, which ever one of us steps into the ring to face Cell, or if one of us is defeated, we can't hold back. Go in fast and go in hard, whatever it takes to win." Goku said, knowing now wasn't a time to hold back, while the others nodded in agreement.
'I just hope I'm strong enough, so that no one else will have to fight.' Goku thought while glancing at Gohan and Trunks.
Despite their additional year of training in the time chamber, neither of them were able to unlock Super Saiyan 2. Though Goku could tell that they were close to unlocking the form, they just needed the right trigger to really push themselves to unlock it. This also meant, Goku couldn't have Gohan fight Cell, like he originally planned, and use that as a trigger to have Gohan unlock his true power. But given Cell's greater power, Gohan wouldn't get the chance to awaken Super Saiyan 2, before he's defeated.
'We also can't have Naruto fight too early either, since we need him as our trump card, if all else fails.' Goku thought, knowing that between the two of them, Naruto's gotten much stronger, given he's had more time to master and use Super Saiyan 2, than him.
But there was still the chance that Cell has grown even stronger than before, as well, growing used to his new Super Perfect Form, and mastered his new power.
'Meaning, if it comes down to it, Gohan will have to unlock Super Saiyan 2.' Goku thought, fully knowing that if it came down to that, he would have to make the ultimate sacrifice to push Gohan to awaken that power.
If it did come to that, Goku would give his life. if it meant Cell was stopped, and everyone was safe.
*Kame House*
Meanwhile, as the fighters were on their way to the Cell Games, Bulma had arrived at Kame House, with Videl and baby Trunks. The three being greeted by Chichi, Lime, Roshi, and Ox-King. Though Bulma was surprised to see Launch present, as well.
"Bulma, Trunks, Videl! It's good to see you all again." Chichi said, smiling at the three, which Bulma returned.
"Hello Bulma, it's great to see you again after so long." Launch said, currently in her Blue Haired Form.
"You too. Trunks and the Androids already left and should be meeting up with Goku, Gohan, and Piccolo by now." Bulma said.
"Yeah, Goku and Gohan left, before we came here. I just hope that they'll both come back, safe and sound." Chichi said, worried for her son and husband and the chance that they wouldn't make it back.
"Have faith, Chichi. All we can do, is believe that they'll be able to beat Cell, hopefully before he can pull out anymore tricks." Roshi said, knowing all they could do is hope for the best and support their friends and allies, the others nodding in agreement, before Bulma looked at Videl.
"Videl, will you be alright watching the tournament?" Bulma asked, wanting to make sure Videl would be alright with Naruto being away for likely several hours, and seeing Cell again, even if it's just through Baba's crystal ball.
Videl looked up at the woman and nodded hesitantly.
"Yeah, I should be fine, as long as the Cell Games don't take too long to finish. Besides, I also get to watch everyone kick Cell's ass." Videl said, having been eager to see Cell get beaten up by the others.
This made the others smile at the girl, with Bulma's, Chichi's, and Lime's smiles being the biggest, since they knew Videl the best. Along with Lime sharing Videl's excitement of watching Cell get beat up, by the others.
Everyone then went inside, with it not being long before Fortune Teller Baba showed up with her crystal ball, which would allow everyone to see the Cell Games. And given if it was anything like the Saiyan Attack, then the onsite cameras would likely be destroyed from the fighters' power.
Gathering around the crystal ball, everyone watched as soon saw the image of the Cell Games arena appear, with Cell, himself, standing in the center.
*King Furry's Castle*
"Ah yes, so it is that boy." The king of the Earth commented to himself, as he recognized Goku despite the changes looks, and feeling hope once again.
"With him around, things will turn out alright in the end." King Furry muttered, as he remembered how Goku defeated King Piccolo and his son, along with having feeling that he was the ones who fought off those alien invaders.
*Cell Games Arena*
At the Cell Games arena, Cell wasn't the only one present, as up on a nearby ridge, an announcer and cameraman were lying on the ground. These being Jimmy Firecracker and his cameraman, Larry, from ZTV. With Jimmy being the only one brave enough to cover the Cell Games, onsite.
"Jimmy Firecracker here, live on the Cell Games…because apparently nobody else could take this job, but don't worry about me, because Jimmy Firecrack corn, and he don't give a fuck! He'll take any job, he'll take every job, he'll take your job! And speaking of jobs...nobody else is here yet. Though with the death of the World Martial Arts Champion, Mr. Satan, who knows if anyone is left to challenge the sinister Cell." Jimmy said, being skeptical of anyone being able to defeat Cell now that Mr. Satan was dead.
"Come on, Larry, let's get in closer, to see if we can get a word from the host himself." Said Jimmy, running down the cliff, with Larry following behind him, the two soon reaching the ring, and went up to Cell.
"Perfect Cell, would you be able to give the people at home some answers to many questions, that they've likely had, ever since your announcement?" Jimmy questioned, with Cell glancing at the announcer, considering telling him to leave right now, before smirking.
"Sure, ask away." Cell said, deciding to humor him for the time being and pass the time, until the Z-Fighters and Androids arrive.
"Thank you. Now, a question I'm sure everyone has been wanting an answer to, is there any chance of you sparing the Earth, should no one be able to best you in combat?" Questioned Jimmy, holding the mike up as everyone watching leaned in, hoping to hear something good.
"Hm, good question. And after giving it some thought, I decided that if those present are able of giving me a good enough challenge, I might consider sparing the Earth. If only so that I could come back in a few years to get a good challenge every now, and then. Of course, that'd only be this generation of fighters, give it a few decades, and if the next generation still manages to impress me, then the Earth gets to continue existing for my amusement." Cell said, having decided that if any of his opponents can give him a good challenge, then he would think of letting the Earth remain, if only to come back every few years, and see how much stronger they've improved.
But like he said, as long as he's amused by the Earth, and anyone who challenges him, it'll continue to exist. And if not, then Cell will reduce it to dust, and find another planet to amuse him.
Cell's answer also did nothing to reassure those watching, with Jimmy gulping nervously. Since if Cell wasn't defeated and he did decide to spare the Earth, he might as well become a real-life boogeyman for everyone. Always watching and appearing, whenever he wanted, reminding them that there is someone out there, they should be afraid of.
Before Jimmy could ask anything else, Cell pointed out of the arena, silently telling them to leave, with the two doing so, not wanting to incur the Bio-Android's wrath. And not a moment later, the remaining Z-Fighters touched down, just outside of the ring.
"And the competition has arrived. Welcome, to the Cell Games!" Cell said, spreading his arms out, before smirking at them.
"Now then, who's first? 22? 17 or 18? What about you Piccolo, eager for a rematch?" Cell asked, waiting to see who would step up and challenge him first, with Goku stepping into the ring, and stood across from Cell.
"Your fights with me Cell. RAH!" Goku shouted, powering up to Super Saiyan 2, with Cell chuckling in amusement with a smirk.
"So you awakened that same power as 22, then this will be more entertaining than I thought. HA!" Said Cell, flaring his own power, as the Earthborn Saiyan and Bio-Android got into their stances, across from each other.
Not a moment later, both super powered being charged each other, meeting in the center of the ring, with a shockwave being released from their clash.
Goku threw a punch at Cell, only for the Bio-Android to deflect the strike and slam his knee into the Saiyan's stomach. Goku doubled over in pain, before gritting his teeth and raising his head quickly, hitting Cell in his jaw, making him stumble back. The Saiyan took advantage of this, and delivered an uppercut, launching Cell up into the air, with Goku quickly following after him, as the two began a clashing against each other.
Meanwhile, off to the side, Jimmy and Larry could only watch the fight in disbelief, the same being said for everyone watching the fight. No one having any idea how Goku was being able to keep up with Cell, or about how his hair changed from black to blonde.
"People at home, I think I speak for all of us, when I say, we have never seen fighting like this. As it seems this stranger is actually fighting in even ground with Cell. Could this perhaps be our hope that Cell will be defeated and the Earth will be saved?" Jimmy said into the camera, as people started feeling hope that Cell would be defeated by these stranger fighters.
Back with the fight, Cell had utilized the Multi-Form technique, creating three clones of himself, for a total of four Cells. With Goku having trouble keeping up with the four Cells, having to block the various kicks and punches from all sides. Only for the Cell's to suddenly jump back, and place two fingers on their foreheads, charging Ki into them.
"Special Beam Cannon!" Cells shouted, firing the Ki beams simultaneously at Goku.
Acting fast, Goku placed two fingers on his forehead, waiting until the last moment, before using Instant Transmission to teleport away from the beams. With the four Special Beam Cannon's colliding against each other, creating a large explosion.
Goku then reappeared behind one of Cells, and spin kicked him into the center of the ring, before quickly Instant Transmissioning away, repeating the action with the other three Cell's. Resulting in the four Bio-Androids colliding against each other, with Goku teleporting directly above them and reared his fist back, while channeling a large amount of Ki into his fist.
Then with a shout, Goku slammed his Ki-enhanced fist into the four Cell's, sending them crashing down into the arena, with the three clones remerging with the original. Not stopping there, Goku got into a stance, and began charging up a Kamehameha.
"KamehameHA!" Goku shouted, firing his signature attack, which was double its usual size, from the power he put into it.
Seeing the attack coming towards him, Cell quickly backflipped out of the way of the blast, while immediately flying up into the air, above Goku.
"Take this! Big Bang Crash!" Shouted Cell, firing a red variant of the Big Bang Attack at Goku's back.
Sensing the attack, Goku quickly Instant Transmissioned away avoiding, while reappearing beside Cell, as they became locked in a close quarters fight.
Back on the ground, the Z-Fighters were watching the fight, trying to see if either side had an advantage over the other.
"They seem pretty even, neither of them looks to be gaining any ground." Trunks said frowning, since the longer the fight dragged on, the better chance Cell had at gaining an advantage.
"Yeah, if this keeps up, it may come down to who can out last the other." Piccolo said, knowing if that happened there'd, be a higher chance that Cell would win.
"Don't be so sure. Goku still has a few tricks up his sleeves." Naruto said, knowing Goku had been working on some new techniques during their year of training in the time chamber.
This made the others look at him in confusion, wondering what tricks Goku had to use against Cell. They then turned their attention back to the fight, now seeing that Goku and Cell were moving even faster, than they were before.
Cell soon broke off from his and Goku's clash, and flew back down to the arena, where he pointed a finger at Goku, before unleashing a Barrage Death Beam at the Saiyan. With Goku dodging and weaving in between the Ki beams, while charging up another Kamehameha, only for Cell to begin charging his own attack, while aiming his palm at Goku.
"Ultimate Blitz!" Cell shouted, firing a massive energy wave straight at Goku.
The Saiyan's eyes widened as the attack rushed towards him, not having time to dodge, as the attack collided against him.
When the smoke and energy faded, Cell smirked, when he didn't see any sight of Goku, or anything left.
"Well, I'll admit, I'm a little disappointed that ended so quickly. Now, who's ne-" Cell stopped himself, as his eyes widened, when Goku suddenly appeared right in front of him, still charging his Kamehameha
"HAAAAAAAAA!" Goku shouted, firing the Ki blast point blank at Cell
The Bio-Android's eyes widened further, as he only had a split second to react, and get out of the way of the Kamehameha. Jumping back, and flying into the air to avoid the attack, knowing it very likely would have killed him.
But Cell was only further surprised, when the Goku on the ground suddenly vanished, and he sensed another Goku suddenly appear behind him.
'When did he learn the Multi-Form technique?!' Cell thought, swiftly turning around, and saw Goku charging right towards him, with his fist held out and glowing with golden Ki.
"This is the end, Cell! Dragon…FIST!" Goku shouted using his newest attack, as his Super Saiyan aura flared around him.
Cell gasped loudly in pain, as Goku's fist punched right through his body, the rest of the Saiyan's body soon following as he smashed through Cell's body and exited out his back. Though it didn't end there, as Goku's Ki exploded off his body, and took the form of a gigantic golden dragon, that looked exactly like Shenron.
The dragon roared loudly as it flew up, before charging down straight towards Cell. The Bio-Android not having time to dodge or react, as the dragon collided with him, slamming straight down into the arena. Cell being repeatedly smashed further and further into his arena, unable to move or escape the onslaught.
When the dragon finally faded away, and the dust cleared, everyone saw the state that Cell was in. Having a large gaping hole in his chest, his arms and left leg missing, and the rest of his body covered in severe injuries.
The sight shocked everyone watching, but also made them cheer loudly at seeing Cell was beaten, and knew the Earth was saved.
*Kame House*
"He did it!" Chichi cheered, smiling happily at Goku managing to defeat Cell.
"Alright Goku!" Bulma said smiling, while baby Trunks laughed in his mother's arms, not really knowing what was happening, but was still happy like everyone else was.
"Yes!" Videl and Lime shouted, taking a certain enjoyment at the state Cell was in, seeing it as justice for their families and loved ones he absorbed.
"Yeah, take the overgrown bug to the cleaners, Goku!" Launch cheered, who was now sporting blonde hair, having sneezed, while they were watching the fight.
While she isn't pursuing Tien anymore, after realizing that he was married to the Martial Arts lifestyle. Launch stilled cared about him, so it was very satisfying to see her former crush's killing in such a sorry state.
"Don't cheer just yet. Goku still has to finish it." Roshi said as while he was glad his student succeeded in the end, he needed to act quickly before Cell started regenerating.
*Cell Games*
"So, I was right." Goku said landing across from Cell as the Bio-Android panted heavily while trying to stand up, his regeneration working slower than it did before.
"Ri-right about…about w-what?" Cell demanded gritting his teeth as he tried forcing his regeneration to go faster.
"Your regeneration, it's not as fast as it used to be before you tried to self-destruct. I noticed how you seemed to be dodging certain attacks, attacks that if they hit, you could have brushed off like they were nothing. But instead, you dodged them, as if you were actually worried, they would kill you. It took me a while, but then I realized why, when you self-destructed, all your original cells were destroyed, except your core. You had to regrow an entirely new body, with new cells, ones, that while allowing you to still regenerate, aren't as strong as before." Goku said, with Cell looking at him in shock that he could figure that out, before laughing.
"AHAHAHAHAHAHA! Very clever Goku, you figured it out. But don't think that means I'm beaten, I can still regenerate and heal myself, and be even stronger than before." Cell said smirking, before with a grunt, he grew a new right arm.
"Maybe, but you won't get the chance because I'm ending this right now! Ka…Me…Ha…Me…" Goku said, charging up his attack, intent to destroy Cell entirely, before he had a chance to fully recover.
Unfortunately, before Goku could get the chance and fire his attack, he cried out in pain when a Death Beam suddenly pierced through his back. His attack dissipating as Goku fell to his knees while everyone looked in horror, at what just happened.
Suddenly, everyone froze, as they sensed a new power, one even stronger and more sinister than Cell's, when he reached his Super Perfect Form. Slowly, everyone turned and looked, only to be shocked and further horrified, when they saw a second Super Perfect Cell floating down, and landing on the ground, a wicked smirk on his face.
Though while the two Cells were identical, the second one was much more powerful than the one they were fighting, along with having a stylized M on his forehead.
"Ho-how?" Trunks said, horrified that there was now a second Cell, one even stronger than the first, and already being in their own Super Perfect Form.
Seeing the second Cell, Goku's eyes widened as he remembered when he confronted Cell about attacking Mr. Satan's Press Conference.
*Flashback*
Cell laughed loudly as he destroyed the Royal Army, that was sent to confront of him. None of their weapons, so much as even scratching him, as he reduced every last one of them to ash.
It also helped to relieve his stress as well, from all his failed arena designs.
Seriously, how did all those squares make a circle?! And why did a green tile keep appearing?!
Though as Cell continued destroying the army, he couldn't help, but start humming a little tune, before he started singing.
"F is for fire that burns down the whole town! U is for useless weapons! N is for no survivors when you-"
"Cell!" Goku shouted, interrupting Cell's song, as he destroyed the last of the army, with the Bio-Android looking at the Saiyan, with a raised brow.
"Goku. Hate to tell you, but the Cell Games aren't for another couple of days. If you want to fight, come back, then." Said Cell, not interested in fighting, until the tournament.
"I came here for answers! Why did you attack Mr. Satan's Press Conference and absorb everyone?!" Goku demanded, with Cell pausing and looking at Goku, with an intrigued expression.
Though it didn't take long, before Cell smirked, realizing what happened.
'So the present me is making his moves.' Cell thought, being fully aware that his present incarnation was most likely was born early, thanks to the emergency protocols in Gero's lab.
Though Cell won't do anything about his past self, seeing no reason to deal with him, or be concerned. Given he's already long surpassed him, even if he absorbed 17 and 18, Cell was confident that he could still crush his other self with ease now that he's surpassed his Perfect Form.
'Besides, I'll deal with him, after the Cell Games.' Cell thought, knowing that there could only be one Perfect Being around, and it certainly wouldn't be his weaker, past self.
"Well I hate to break it to you, Goku, but I haven't absorbed anyone, after becoming perfect. But I do know, who really absorbed those people." Cell said, while smirking at the Saiyan.
"Who?!" Goku demanded, wanting to find out if they had another threat to deal with, beside Cell.
"Now where'd be the fun in just telling you? Sorry, but you'll have to solve this on your own. But I will give you a hint, think about who I am. Where am I from? And where are we, right now?" Cell said, before flying off, while Goku watched him, with a confused frown of what that could mean.
*End Flashback*
'That's what he meant!' Goku thought, realizing what Cell was hinting at.
The Cell they know, he's from an alternate timeline, and he came to the past, a past that another Cell still existed in! The same Cell that attacked the press conference and was now in his own Super Perfect Form!
Meanwhile, Present Cell smirked down at his future counterpart, who looked at him in shock at his power.
"Look at you, beaten and broken on the ground, how pathetic. And to think you're actually me, or at least, a weaker version of my splendor." Present Cell taunted, before kicking Future Cell to the ground and stood over him with a frown.
"But nonetheless, you are still me. And we both know, there's only room for one Perfect Being in the universe. And that's me." Present Cell said, before his tail shot out of his back and opened up, engulfing his future self.
Everyone's eyes widened in shock, and growing horror at this, realizing what Cell just did, and what would happen. As the moment Cell had fully absorbed his counterpart, he gasped and hunched over, his body shaking, with a wicked grin slowly appearing on his face.
Cell then started chuckling lowly, before it evolved into full blown laughter, which then turned a loud shout, as a vast amount of Ki exploded off of Cell's body. The power Cell was releasing, shook the entire Earth itself, as large cracks began forming underneath him.
The Z-Fighters were just barely able to stay standing, at the power they felt coming off Cell, surpassing anything they've felt before. And it just kept growing!
When the Ki began dying down, everyone saw that Cell stood in the center of the ring, only now he had transformed into an entirely new form.
Where once Cell was mostly green, now his exoskeleton was almost completely jet-black, with green pieces being on his lower legs, forearms and elbows, upper chest, and around his neck, along with now exposing reddish-pink skin underneath, and having spikes on the back of his forearms, shoulders, and upper back. The crest on his head had shrunk and split into four horns, two large ones on the side of his head, and two smaller ones on his forehead, the stylized M still being present, just above them. The markings on his face were also now reddish-pink, which also ran through torso, arms, between the green and black on his legs, along with there being a curved line of it, on the top of his head. With Cell's now eyes snapping open, releasing a wave of power, and showing they were now a dark yellow color.
"Call me…Hyper Perfect Cell." Cell said while smirking wickedly.
Cell walked over to Goku, who looked at him in shock, before kicking the Saiyan out of the ring, and over to the Z-Fighters. Then with a shout and flaring his power, Cell obliterated the Cell Games Arena, and most of the surrounding area, leaving behind a giant crater.
When the smoke cleared, the Z-Fighters saw Cell floating in the air, with his arms crossed.
"New rules. As of this moment, the Cell Games is a battle royal to the death. All of you against me. No ring outs." Cell said smirking at them, as the Z-Fighters tensed and readied themselves for what would likely be their toughest battle ever.
So, what did you think, good. Yep Goku has learned some new attack during his second time in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, allowing him to gain the upper hand against Cell and incapacitate him, having realized Cell's regeneration isn't as strong as it used to be. But before Goku can finish Cell off he's shot in the back, with everyone being shocked when a second Super Perfect Cell appears even stronger than the first, along with having a very familiar M on his forehead. With Goku realizing that this is the Present Cell, with Future Cell having hinted at his existence when Goku confronted him. Finally Present Cell absorbs his counterpart and grows even stronger than before, evolving into Hyper Perfect Cell (Google search "Hyper Perfect Cell" and it should the first image to come up if you want a better visual), before destroying the Cell Games Arena and declaring it's now a battle royal, to the death.
