Author's Message: Hi everyone this chapter covers from the end of last chapter until the end of the bell test.
The Bell TestNaruto jerks awake and looks around quickly. He sees nothing and then feels a weight on his chest and lap. He looks down and sees that he's still in the alley way with Hinata.
"It was a dream...thank goodness." Naruto says looking at the sleeping Hinata.
Naruto looks up and sees that the sky is slowly turning orange meaning it's almost dawn. "We really slept out here all night, I should wake her up I have a test to go to." Naruto thinks and he lightly shakes Hinata.
"Hinata...wake up." Naruto says and Hinata starts to wake up and soon opens her eyes.
"What happened..." Hinata says quietly
"We must have fell asleep out here, it's almost dawn." Naruto says and Hinata looks at Naruto and realizes what's going on.
"I-I fell asleep in y-your..." Hinata tries to say and Naruto smiles
"Yeah you were out like a light, don't worry I just woke up to." Naruto says
"Oh ok, don't you have to get to your mission?" Hinata asks
"Yeah...how about we get you home first, I still have time and I don't think your mission is this early." Naruto says and Hinata shakes her head
"Then come on let's hurry they probably already went looking for you." Naruto says, and he and Hinata get up and walk out of the alley way.
As soon as Naruto turns the corner he gets a shiver down his spine. "That nightmare felt so real." Naruto thinks while walking.
Soon they arrive to the compound and stand near the entrance. "You sure you'll be ok?" Naruto asks
"Yes, I can sneak in through my window and act like I've been sleep all night." Hinata says
"You sure they'll believe that?" Naruto asks
"Hopefully but nothing bad will happen and plus you'll be ok they don't know that I was with you." Hinata says reassuring Naruto
"Well in that case I'll see you later I got to go prepare for my mission." Naruto says and he runs off and Hinata waves goodbye.
As Naruto is running back home Indra appears. "Oh there you are, I was wondering why you didn't wake me up." Naruto says
"I wasn't going to interrupt your alley way sleepover Naruto and plus you fell asleep early anyways." Indra says
"Then uh thanks." Naruto says back
"Just make sure you complete this mission." Indra says and soon Naruto arrives home and picks up some equipment.
He already has his ninja gear on which consist of a white robe with a black waistband for his tanto as well as black ninja shoes. Naruto also grabs kunai and shuriken and puts it into his waist bag.
Naruto walks over to his desk and looks at a kunai with a seal on the handle. "It's not ready yet but just in case." Naruto says, and he grabs the kunai and runs to the training ground.
Naruto arrives at the training ground at the same time as Sasuke and Sakura, and they both look tired but Sakura looks a little rough. "Oh did you guys sleep?" Naruto asks
Sakura looks at Naruto. "Does it look like I slept well, it's 6am there's no reason to be awake this early and I'm hungry." Sakura says
"Guess that starvation training with Indra is going to pay off today." Naruto says
"Seems like Kakashi Sensei is going to be awhile so get some sleep Sakura." Sasuke says and Sakura immediately drops her bag and lays down using it as a pillow.
"Don't you want to sleep to Sasuke? I can keep look out." Naruto says
"I'm fine." Sasuke says and Naruto nods and sits down.
Hours go by with it now being closer to 10am and a puff of smoke appears. "Hello ev-." Kakashi tries to say but stops when seeing two angry Genin and one that's sleep.
"Wake up Sakura." Sasuke says and Sakura gets up.
"Sorry that I'm late I simply got lost on the path of life. Anyways today will be the day you truly prove if your worthy of the title of Genin." Kakashi says, and he takes out two bells and straps them to his waist.
"You must take these two bells from me or just one. If you get a bell you pass but if you don't I'm going to tie you to that log over there and you won't eat lunch. Sound like a plan?" Kakashi says
"But Sensei there's only two bells and three of us." Sakura says rubbing her eyes
"Because one of you or all of you will be going back to the academy." Kakashi says and everyone now seems awake and ready to go
"Great I got your attention now, three, two, one, go!" Kakashi says and everyone jumps away into the surrounding forest.
Secrets
Naruto stands behind a tree keeping his eye on Kakashi. "I should get the first attack in." Naruto thinks, and he makes a shadow clone that rushes out of the woods towards Kakashi.
The real Naruto makes his way around the forest for a flank.
"A full-frontal attack, how bold." Kakashi says, and he dodges the shadow clones attack without breaking a sweat.
The shadow clone tries hitting Kakashi but after a punch Kakashi disappears. "Rule number one, don't let your enemy get behind you." Kakashi says holding a kunai against the shadow clones back
"I went to school as well Sensei, I know." Naruto says as he stands behind Kakashi with his tanto to his neck.
"A shadow clone distraction." Sakura says looking at the battle
"Impressive." Kakashi says as he then poofs into smoke and turns into a log.
"A substitution jutsu Naruto. He's somewhere nearby." Indra tells Naruto and Naruto looks around for Kakashi.
"Let's start out with our first lesson, first battle tactic of a ninja taijutsu." Kakashi says, and he jumps down from a tree he was in and stands in front of Naruto
"Should I use it?" Naruto asks Indra
"No not yet try and catch him with a regular genjutsu, he won't expect you to know that." Indra says and Naruto summons a few shadow clones
The shadow clones start running around Kakashi and Kakashi takes a stance. He starts to notice the shadow clones foot steps get more and more distracting.
"What's he playing at?" Kakashi says, and he looks at Naruto who starts to look more and more fuzzy.
Kakashi starts to put his hand on his headband but then feels a weight hit him in his chest. "What the?!" Kakashi says falling to the ground
"I like a less obvious approach." Naruto says pinning Kakashi to the ground.
"He used the footsteps from the clones as a genjutsu to distract me from his own and the movement to cover himself." Kakashi says and he then kicks Naruto off of him.
"That was impressive Naruto, but if any of you are going to get a bell you'll need to want to kill me." Kakashi says
"Guess Im going to have to let go of my deception then." Naruto says and Kakashi looks curious
"What is Naruto doing?" Sasuke thinks
Naruto closes his eyes and opens them to reveal his Sharingan to Kakashi. "What he shouldn't have the Sharingan already?!" Kakashi thinks
"A Sharingan?!" Sasuke thinks
"Blinding Soul!" Naruto says looking into Kakashi's eyes. Kakashi now cannot see.
Naruto runs towards Kakashi and through a punch but his fist gets caught. "That's impressive Naruto but you under estimate your opponent." Kakashi says and he throws Naruto away into the ground.
"Release!" Kakashi says makes Naruto's genjutsu go away.
"Im not failing!" Naruto says, and he summons more shadow clones that rush at Kakashi.
One by one the shadow clones are destroyed by Kakashi. Naruto grits his teeth and jumps into the battle himself Sharingan blazing red.
Kakashi while not going all out by any means is impressed by Naruto's ability. Naruto exchanges fist with Kakashi for a minute until he jumps away and takes out his tanto. "I'll just cut off the bells then!" Naruto says, and he runs back in and starts trying to cut the strings off the bells.
However after a couple of slashes he is kicked away into a tree by Kakashi. Naruto holds his head and groans. "He's so fast..." Naruto says and his Sharingan deactivates.
Kakashi walks towards Naruto and stands over him. "Impressive Naruto, if it were anyone else you may have been able to get these bells." Kakashi says to a disappointed Naruto.
"Fireball Jutsu!" Sasuke says above Kakashi and a large fireball falls on Kakashi seemingly burning him to a crisp.
"Sasuke what did you do!" Naruto shouts seeing what just happened
"Me and you are going to talk later and I'm getting these bells." Sasuke says and as the smoke goes away it is should Kakashi is gone.
"Where did he go?" Sasuke says and starts looking around him and above him.
"Hello." Kakashi says grabbing Sasuke's ankle from the ground.
"How did h-" Sasuke tries to say, but he is then dragged under ground with only his head being above ground.
"Well then, you two stay here I need to go find Sakura." Kakashi says and he then jumps away.
"Well guess we didn't do so great." Naruto says getting up holding his shoulder from the pain of the impact with the tree.
"Where did you get a Sharingan?!" Sasuke says angrily
"Like any other Uchiha, it's only been a couple days ok I don't have a good grasp on it." Naruto says walking closer to Sasuke
"No you idiot all the Uchiha were killed by...you should be dead!" Sasuke shouts
"I didn't grow up with a family like you Sasuke, only evidence I have that I'm even a Uchiha is these eyes." Naruto says and he holds out his still good arm.
"What do you think your doing?" Sasuke says
"We're not going to be able to get those bells alone, and I'm not going back to the academy. You and I are becoming ninja." Naruto says
"Fine, come on get me out if here." Sasuke says and Naruto grabs his shirt and helps pull Sasuke out.
"Just one second." Naruto says, and he forces his shoulder back into place and grunts.
"Alright let's go find Kakashi Sensei." Sasuke says and Naruto nods and the two run in the direction Kakashi went.
They soon find Kakashi standing over Sakura who is laying on the ground passed out. "Sensei, we're here to get those bells!" Naruto says and Kakashi turns around
"Then let's see what you can do." Kakashi says pulling out a kunai
Naruto pulls out his tanto and activates his Sharingan once again. Sasuke grabs a kunai as well and gets into a stance.
"Shadow clone jutsu!" Naruto says and 10 shadow clones appear around him.
"This may prove troubling." Kakashi says gripping his kunai tighter.
Naruto, his clones, and Sasuke run towards Kakashi. The Naruto clones go in first and get stabbed and sliced away by Kakashi even with a Sharingan. "Sasuke!" Naruto says and Sasuke jumps into the air
"Fireball jutsu!" Sasuke says and he launches another fireball at Kakashi
Naruto runs at Kakashi leaving him no option to take on either Naruto or the fireball.
"Water style, great splash!" Kakashi says, and he shoots a large amount of water at the ground knocking Naruto away and turning the fireball into steam.
Sasuke lands on the ground and after using a lot of chakra with his fireballs he breaths heavily.
Naruto gets up from being knocked down from the water. He looks and sees Sasuke tired and barley standing and Sakura still knocked out. "I can't fail, I've come to far." Naruto says, and he picks up his tanto and takes out his kunai with a seal on the handle.
Naruto throws the kunai at Kakashi. "One kunai?" Kakashi says and he easily dodges the kunai. But as he does this Naruto disappears.
"Flying Raijin!" Naruto says as he is now above Kakashi and falling with his tanto and Flying Raijin kunai pointing at Kakashi.
"What?!" Kakashi says, and he dashes to the side trying not to get hit.
Naruto misses Kakashi and hits the ground. "He's so fast..." Naruto says, and he loses his grip on his tanto and kunai.
"That was close." Kakashi says, and he looks at the bells on his waist but sees one is missing.
"He cut it off?!" Kakashi says, and he looks around and sees the bell a few feet from Naruto right out of his range.
"These kids are going to be dangerous." Kakashi says and just then a bell rings saying that their time is up.
"Times up, come on Sasuke we have to talk." Kakashi says to a barley standing Sasuke, and he picks up Sasuke and Sakura.
While walking to where they started Kakashi looks at Naruto. "How did he already pick up Minato's technique?" Kakashi says
Soon Naruto wakes up tied to a poll in front of Kakashi. "Oh your finally awake." Kakashi says
"Did we pass...?" Naruto says hoping his final attempt did something
"No you all failed, because while you made up for it in the end the rest of the time you forgot one simple thing." Kakashi says and the team looks confused
"Sakura if you didn't worry about Sasuke so much you may have been able to actually help your team. Sasuke your lone wolf mentality is not going to cut it in the real world, you'll die out there." Kakashi says
"And you Naruto, not only did you use dangerous techniques that could have easily gotten you killed. You kept secrets from your team which could have been used to better the whole team." Kakashi says and Naruto hangs his head.
"Maybe if you all did something called teamwork from the beginning like a team you wouldn't be in this position." Kakashi says to the disappointment of Team 7.
"So what now?" Sakura says
"Now you eat, I'm going to be nice and give you another shot. I have to go for a minute so while I'm gone you don't feed Naruto and if you do there will be sever consequences." Kakashi says and he then starts walking away.
Sakura and Sasuke start eating with Naruto barely able to do anything with his restricted movement. "I'm sorry for not saying anything sooner about me being a Uchiha." Naruto says and Sasuke tightens his grip on his chop sticks.
"Don't say anything else about it." Sasuke says and Naruto doesn't respond
"Here take this. I'm not hungry anymore." Sasuke says
"But Kakashi Sensei said we couldn't feed him." Sakura says
"He's not here now and if we want to get these bells we need Naruto at full strength." Sasuke says and Sakura looks at Naruto and agrees.
"If there's going to be a punishment, I have an idea. Hand me my tanto." Naruto says and Sakura gives him his tanto, and he starts cutting the rope until he feels he's able to break out if it whenever.
"Alright." Sakura says, and she grabs a bit of rice and brings it towards Naruto's mouth but before she does Kakashi appear and the food gets knocked out of there hand.
"Now you've done't it, I told you to follow the rules or else there would be punishment!" Kakashi says, and he starts weaving hand signs and the wind picks up
"Now!" Naruto says, and he breaks out of the rope with his blade and gets into a stance. Sakura and Sasuke do the same ready for a fight with their kunai.
"Now!, you pass." Kakashi says and the wind immediately calms down.
"What?" Team 7 says together
"You all showed teamwork together, doesn't matter if you broke the rules. Remember those who break the rules are scum but those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum." Kakashi says and everyone puts away their weapon.
"So does this mean we pass?" Sakura says and Kakashi smiles under his mask and gives a thumbs up.
"Yes you all pass, we are now officially Team 7. We start missions tomorrow." Kakashi says and everyone now has a happy expression on their face.
"You band of weaklings actually did it." Indra thinks to himself watching the event.
"Now go home and get some rest and eat, I'll see you all tomorrow in the Hokage's office to start our missions." Kakashi says and he poofs into smoke
"We're actually ninja now..." Sakura says
Sasuke packs up his lunch and starts walking away. "Hey Sasuke where are you going?" Naruto says
"To train." Sasuke says and he keeps walking off.
"Wait up Sasuke!" Sakura says and she runs after Sasuke.
"Guess I'll head home too, I'm ready for some food." Naruto says to himself, and he walks off back to the village as well.
DangerousIn the Hokage's office Iruka sits in a chair in front of the Hokage. "So Iruka I assume you wanted to talk to me about Naruto?" Hiruzen says
"Yes Lord 3rd I did, I wanted to ask some questions about the subject." Iruka says
"Then proceed." Hiruzen says
"Do you think Naruto is dangerous?" Iruka says and then Hiruzen raises his hand and waves it calling off his ANBU guards around the room.
The ANBU leave and Hiruzen responds. "He's a kind-hearted kid with a troubled mind. Is he dangerous...yes but I think he's not dangerous to us." Hiruzen says
"What do you mean Lord 3rd?" Iruka says
"He's to kind to truly want to hurt the village, his dream is to be Hokage. But if what I think happened that day is true. The one he is truly in danger to is himself, that boy can switch up on himself like he's got another person in his head." Hiruzen says and Iruka starts to think
"Now Iruka if you don't mind I have a question as well. Since you asked me I wonder. Do you think Naruto is dangerous?" Hiruzen says
"I... I agree with you on your assessment Lord 3rd. Naruto is dangerous but I want to say he's a good kid as well. But with what happened to Mitsuki he was a completely different person, it must be the influence of the...you know." Iruka says
"So what do you say we do?" Hiruzen asks curiously
"I'm just nervous, I don't want him to go haywire on the wrong person." Iruka says and Hiruzen takes a puff out of his pipe
"As long as Naruto has people in this village he loves, he won't go away. So keep being good to him, don't look at him with fear or anger. He's only has a few people who don't." Hiruzen says and Iruka thinks and stands up
"Thank you, Lord 3rd." Iruka says and he gets up and heads back outside
