The Forging of the Flaming Blades
Epilogue
The battle was over and the traitors had been routed at the battle for the Unbreakable Blades fortress monastery, without their central command the remaining cultists were hunted down and destroyed with extreme prejudice by the chapters remaining warriors. Although victory at Dasont had come at a high price, the chapter was down to around 400 warriors and the imperial guard defending the planet had been decimated in their fight. Furthermore the planet was still suffering from Nurgles various diseases and more people died every day, the Unbreakable Blades would burn down and eradicate the corruption to their planet over the years. With the chapter so low on men Hairo would keep the chapter in a state of relative inactivity for the next 80 years for them to regain their strength.
Andronius had miraculously survived his wounds in his fight against the champion, although he would not live much longer by the time he was found, it was decided that he would be the pilot of the Contemptor Dreadnought given to them by the tech-priests. Andronius's mangled body was brought back to the temple and interred within the Dreadnought, given this new form Andronius would once more serve the Chapter and would go on to fight for many long years, happily it seemed that the madness that had overtaken Andronius in combat so many times before had cleared from his head and he became a fierce but wise warrior and elder for the chapter.
Over these years several new traditions became part of the chapters culture, the most prominent of these being the Fight of Flame, and the March, the former of these being a recruitment ritual to decide who gets to begin astartes training where the strongest of a settlement will fight, and the victor of each village will start training, the March is where an aspirant will need to March from Morlana all,the way to the Fortress Monastery to show they are resilient and strong enough to be inducted into the astartes.
The fallout with the Inquisition was not small, they demanded the Unbreakable Blades be excommunicated, stating their resistance to following an inquisitors, fighting with chaos and possible corruption, and the mutation in their gene seed, however the Unbreakable Blades got out okay because of their efforts to save a planet deemed unsaveable , however they were now on thin ice and the inquisition refused to work in their region of the Caligari sector. This led to the creation of the Unbreakable Blades 11th company, the cleansers, they acted as inquisitors, though lacking all the influence of an inquisitor, they were tasked with rooting out corruption of heresy in their part of the Caligari sector.
The Unbreakable Blades were also now a chapter with many psykers, these were named Fire Blades in the chapter, although almost every warrior of the chapter could at the least enwreathe his weapon, in psychic fire, although it is done with chain weapons as their engines will explode. With this drastic change in the chapter a new name was chosen to represent them, these warriors of the emperor were the Unbreakable Blades no longer, they were now, the Flaming Blades
