Chapter 10: I've got a Golden Ticket!

AN: Flurry Heart has a big surprise for her family and Patrick might be able to walk again! Enjoy!

It wasn't long before the two siblings arrived at their house and Flurry took the golden ticket out from her pocket. They then bolted right through the door, which startled everybody else in the cottage.

"Look, everybody! I've got it! The last golden ticket is mine!" Flurry shouted with glee.

Everybody was speechless about that statement, considering that they still thought the last golden ticket was already found. After a few seconds of silence, Patrick was the one who spoke first.

"You've got to be pulling our legs, Flurry. There aren't any more golden tickets," Patrick said seriously.

"No, those guys Flim and Flam made up a phony ticket! It said so in the newspaper! Flurry Heart has the real last golden ticket right here in front of you!" Bob explained.

Everyone gasped in shock and realization once they learned the truth. Yet, even though they had just been told that Flurry found the real fifth golden ticket, it was still unbelievable.

"Go on, Patrick, see for yourself," Flurry handed the ticket to her second brother.

"Go on and read it, Patrick," Velvet urged.

"While we're still young," Night Light commented.

Patrick did a double take on that comment before he began to read the text on the ticket while the others all listen intently. "All right, here it goes. "Greetings to you, the lucky finder of this golden ticket, from Mr. Willy Wonka! I shake you warmly by the hand! For now, I invite you to my factory and to be my guest for one whole day. I, Willy Wonka, will personally conduct you around the factory myself, showing you everything there is to see. Afterwards, when it is time to leave, you will be escorted home by a procession of large trucks, each one filled with all the chocolate you could ever eat. And remember, one of you lucky five children will receive an extra prize beyond your wildest imagination. Now, here are your instructions: on the 1st of December, present this ticket at the factory gates at 10:00 a.m. sharp. You may bring one or two members of your family to look after you, but no more than two. In your wildest dreams you cannot imagine the marvelous surprises that await you!" FLURRY, YOU'VE DONE IT!"

As Patrick read, his excitement continued to grow until he shouted the last part out with joy. Everyone else also began speaking amongst themselves with astonishment.

"My goodness!" Velvet gasped.

"Well, I'll be darned!" Night Light hooted.

"I can't believe it," Shining Armor said as he looked at the golden ticket.

"Oh, congratulations, sweetie!" Cadence hugged Flurry Heart and began to smother her with kisses.

"Hey, Flurry, notice anything different about me?" Patrick spoke up.

Flurry broke free of her mother's grasp and looked over at her brother. He was still sitting in his recliner, but when she glanced downwards, she saw something that made her smile again.

"You're out of your cast!" Flurry gasped.

"And about time, too!" Patrick chuckled.

It turned out that after Flurry Heart went to school, Shining Armor took Patrick to the doctor to see if he was ready to get his cast off. The doctor inspected the leg and much to Patrick's joy, he said that he was ready to take the cast off. Although, the doctor strongly advised the boy to not walk on the leg until the end of the day. The family was happy that Patrick got back his ability to walk, but with the golden ticket business brought back up, Cadence started to wonder about who would escort Flurry on the tour.

"Do you think you should go with her to the factory?" Cadence turned to her husband.

Shining Armor thought about this for a moment before he shook his head. "Well, I think it would definitely be exciting, but Bob seems to know more about the factory than I do. I think that Bob seems like the better choice."

"It's true," Bob nodded proudly.

"But it says that I can take another person with me. I really wish that Patrick could go too," Flurry pointed out.

This caused everyone to fall silent and turn towards the boy in question. He then had a look of determination on his face and he began to sit up. After getting up into a sitting position, he put both hands on both arms of the recliner and pushed himself up. He continued to push until he was in a standing position. After taking a deep breath, he took a step forward and then another. Everyone's eyes were glued onto him and they watched with anticipation. He continued to walk slowly until he lost his footing and fell sideways onto the bed, which startled everyone.

"Are you okay, Pat?" Bob asked.

"Yeah, I guess I just need a little more practice," Patrick nodded.

Bob then grabbed ahold of Patrick's arm and pulled him back up onto his feet. Unfortunately, Bob pulled a little too hard and the momentum made Patrick tumble over until he practically rammed Flurry into wall, causing her to shout out. Bob and Cadence ran over and helped pull Patrick away.

"Patrick, honey, don't push yourself!" Cadence told him.

After regaining his balance, Patrick continued to walk a few feet until he got the hang of it and began to walk without any problems. He turned around and faced his family with a beaming smile on his face.

"Look at me. Look at me! I can walk again! I haven't been this happy in a long time," Patrick chuckled.

He then lost his footing momentarily, but he managed to catch himself and stand back up before he began to sing.

[Patrick Moonbeam]

I never thought my life could be

Anything but catastrophe

But suddenly I begin to see

A bit of good luck for me

'Cause I've got a golden ticket

I've got a golden twinkle in my eye!

Feeling the same sense of contentment, Bob walked over to his brother's side and began to sing as well.

[Bob Nightwalker]

I never had a chance to shine

Never a happy song to sing

But suddenly half the world is mine

What an amazing thing

'Cause I got a golden ticket

I've got a golden sun up in the sky!

Then, Flurry also felt what her brothers were feeling and this prompted her to stand up and begin singing too.

[Flurry Heart]

I never thought I'd see the day

When I would face the world and say

"Good morning, look at the sun"

I never thought that I would be

Slap in the lap of luxury

'Cause I'd have said,

"It couldn't be done" but it can be done!

Even though his legs started to feel a little wobbly, Patrick suddenly got the urge to dance around. However, he knew that he couldn't dance this soon without aid, so he went over to the coatrack near the front door and grabbed onto Night Light's cane. He then began to do the Raqs Assaya cane dance like a performer in Vaudeville. At one point, it looked like he was going to collapse, but he managed to hold his own.

[Patrick Moonbeam]

I never dreamed that I would climb

Over the moon in ecstasy

But nevertheless that's where I am

Shortly about to be

'Cause I've got a golden ticket

I got a golden chance to

Make my way

And with a golden ticket

It's a golden day!

Bob went into the bedroom he shared with his siblings, looked in a truck at the end of Flurry's bed, took out three prop canes, grabbed three barbershop quartet hats, and went back out into the living room. He gave two of the canes and hats to Flurry and Patrick, with the latter tossing away Night Light's cane, which wound up hanging back onto the coatrack. While holding onto the canes, the three siblings put on their hats and sang and danced together while the others watched the performance.

[Bob Nightwalker]

Good morning!

Look at the sun!

[Flurry Heart]

I never thought that I would be

Slap in the lap of luxury

'Cause I'd have said,

"It couldn't be done"

[Patrick Moonbeam]

But it can be done!

I never dreamed that I would climb

Over the moon in ecstasy

But nevertheless that's where I am

Shortly about to be

'Cause I've got a golden ticket!

[Flurry Heart, Bob Nightwalker & Patrick Moonbeam]

I've got a golden ticket

I've got a golden chance to

Make my way

And with a golden ticket

It's a golden DAY!

Once the song was finished, the three made a final pose, prompting the others to cheer and applaud them. Patrick was the happiest out of the three since he truly missed being able to perform again. Cadence suddenly noticed something on the golden ticket and ran over to her three children.

"Wait a minute! It says the 1st of December. That's tomorrow!" Cadence pointed out.

"Holy nick of time!" Patrick exclaimed.

"There's not a moment to lose then!" Night Light said in alarm. "Flurry, wash your face, comb your hair, scrub your hands, brush your teeth, and blow your nose—"

"Don't worry about Flurry, Night Light. I'll see to it that she's well presentable," Cadence calmed her father-in-law down.

The three siblings started to have their own private conversation about a serious topic that hasn't left the mind of Flurry.

"Man, first I get my cast off my leg, I can walk and dance again, and now I'm going to a chocolate factory! Nothing can ruin this day for me! Nothing!" Patrick cheerfully declared.

"Patrick, on the way home, Bob and I ran into Sombra," Flurry whispered.

Patrick's happiness was quickly replaced with shock as his eyes widened and he glanced towards Bob, who nodded in agreement, nonverbally saying that Flurry was telling the truth.

"Tell me more," Patrick whispered back.

Bob and Flurry told him about Sombra's proposition, and while he agreed with Bob that betraying Willy Wonka wouldn't be right, he was also torn just like Flurry. They then decided that it would be best to not focus on that right now, since they obviously had something else more important to focus on.

AN: Again, HeySpike does NOT own any of the songs. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Stay tuned for the next chapter in which we head out to the chocolate factory. Until then, catch ya later!
