Chapter 9
Riverside Hotel sported a luscious lobby, yet its inhabitants were starkly at odds with such a lifestyle. Anthony was its receptionist, and although he had no complaints, he certainly was not as proud of his position as the jocund henchman of the Steel Mill.
As always, Anthony's wits were usurped from him when Selina stepped in. He balked nervously whilst he attempted not to. He could see Selina was stiff from the cold: she had an expression that rendered her as a lost soul of a foreign land despite not looking much at anywhere but slightly down in this place where she frequently accommodated herself – for business, of course: she would, in truth, find the vast majority of the people of the place repulsive.
She approached Anthony and her heart swelled by the sheer earnestness of the boy; she held him by his chin and planted a kiss on his forehead. She then walked away the hall she always did.
