It's nearly midnight. I seem to really hate sleep, huh. Oh well.
I was in the driving seat of a matte black, Audi R8 V12+ Spyder, and what I think is the latest model, 2008. What? I love Audi R8's. I squealed like a little boy when I saw this one, and immediately bagsied it. I was gonna pick the same car as Thalia, but after Percy was kicked from her Mercedes, I don't think she's in the mood to socialise. #relatable. I looked out the window, struggling not to sleep. I haven't had many bad dreams lately, but Percy told me his, and I don't wanna share dream stories.
"Don't be afraid of dreams, young titan."
I started. I wasn't surprised to see the homeless guy sitting in the shotgun seat of my car. He saw my shocked face.
"Oh, yes. I know. God of truth, remember? Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. You'll be surprised how many of us know. Anyway, don't be scared to dream. I learn about a lot of the future from my dreams."
He cleared his throat, then held his hands out like Shakespeare or something.
Dreams are like Podcasts
Downloading truth in my ears
They tell me cool stuff
"Apollo?"
He grinned. "Why the surprised tone?"
I didn't even hesitate. "Because that haiku was bloody aw…"
I stopped. He was glaring at me, almost waiting for me to say something. I sat there. He raised an eyebrow, then laughed.
"I like you. Most people would be coming up excuses, or apologizing by now."
I frowned. "I won't apologize for telling the truth."
"I respect that. God of Truth is respecting that," he held out a fist. I fist bumped him nervously.
"Although don't say that again," he warned.
"So. You here to help us?"
"Look out the window kid."
The landscape was blurring past. Then I remembered.
"Sun West Line? Little on the nose? For the god of poetry?"
Apollo laughed. But his eyes were sad. I'd forgotten that Artemis was his sister.
"Can you see her?"
"No. Nor the blonde. I don't like it."
I looked out the window. I looked back at him. He had vanished. Taking his advice. I settled down to sleep.
Zoe POV (Surprised you again huh)
Idiot boy! He's still asleep. She stared at the brown-haired demigod. She felt a strange connection to him, as if he understood what it was like to live as a demi-titan. It was nonsense. She was alone. (I know it's supposed to be a shocker, but if you reading Percy Jackson fanfiction you've definitely read the books so...) Anyway, he'd been asleep for nearly 10 hours. Thalia had tried to zap him. Percy had dowsed him water. Nothing. It's like he was in a catatonic state. We were forced to take the cars, with Thalia driving the one he was in. As we drove through a small ski town, we had stopped for directions. Fayden was left snoring in the car. Stupid male. As we split up, looking for food, and directions, we didn't notice the golden steam creep from under Fayden's eyes. I went with the satyr for food, but got annoyed at the barista. I walked back to the car, alone. I stared through the blacked-out windows. A soft golden glimmer could be seen through them. I frowned, opening the door. I stepped back in shock. Fayden's eyes were open, but glowing a bright gold. He had swirling mist around his body, like vapour. I stumbled. Thalia, who had seen me open the door from a distance, jogged over. She was about to ask what was wrong, but saw Fayden. Emotions flashed across her face. Shock, fright, then worry, before glancing at me. I glared, mentally saying an obvious message, 'I know you know what's up. Tell. Me'.
Thalia stuttered. "I'll…I'll let him explain. But we need to cover him. We can't let the others see him."
I nodded. I grabbed a blanket that was luckily just sitting on a nearby table, before gently tucking it over him. I stepped back, blushing slightly. What was I doing?! Thalia was raising her eyebrows. The heat spread to me eyes.
"Shut up. I respect him. He's not that bad of a male."
Thalia was smirking. I stormed off. I hated her as much as I did males. Arrogant demigod.
Fayden's POV
I woke up in a pitch-black room. I sat up, rubbing my head. This wasn't right. I was traveling across America, not…where am I?
"Your mind," came a loud voice. It seemed to ooze power. I peered into the darkness. Where was…
"Right here," came the same voice to my left.
I spun, lashing out, but my hand froze in mid-air. I gazed into the eyes of my kidnapper. Two, angry, piercing, bright gold eyes stared back.
"So. Your mind. Bit dark in here, huh?" mocked the man.
I struggled to get free the bond. I even tried to use my own powers. They didn't work.
"Do you really think you could get use your powers on me? You got them from me."
My eyes widened.
"Yes. I am Kronos. Your father. Shocking right. Well, now were caught up, I think I'll kill you."
I struggled even harder.
"Why?" I managed to choke out.
"Why?" he laughed. "Because, son, you are, or should I say, were, the one thing capable of stopping me. Now, Olympus will fall. And you will be trapped inside your own head, with me. And what's funny, is you are the one stopping yourself escape. So it's all your fault!"
My blood froze. What was he saying? Me?
I spat at him, "How am I keeping myself here?" I was relying on his arrogance to just tell me. I was right.
"Oh yes, that. Well. I'm not really here. This is what your brain imagines as me. An all-powerful, evil being capable of stripping you of your powers, and usefulness. You think about it constantly. That's why I'm here. You can only escape if you truly stop becoming scared of me, and I'm here to make sure that doesn't happen. A golden scythe appeared out of thin air. He pulled his hand, and I came floating towards me.
"Oh, I love what you think of me. I can't do that. But's it fun."
He slashed at my chest, and I felt real pain. I somehow knew, my real body received that cut. He continued slashing. After a few more cuts, a single K, could be seen. I knew what he was writing.
"No! Noooo!"
Thalia's POV
Fay was still asleep. I had kept an eye on him as we drove across the desert. Grover had told us our next obstacle lay ahead. So, we drove. I glanced down, and in shock, saw blood on the blanket, seeping through. Zoe noticed it as well, and gasped. Luckily, the Audi was a two seater, so its only me and Zoe in the car, with Fayden in the boot. I pulled open his shirt and stared. Horrified. The letters Krono, were visible, and an obvious 's' was being drawn as we watched. At least now we know why he wouldn't wake up. We both stared at each other, horrified. A tear was making its way down my face, as I clasped his hand. No one knew what Kronos was doing to Fay. God.
Fayden's POV
"Aaaaah!" I screamed, as the final S, was etched onto my chest. I slumped forward, defeated. Kronos had pulled back his scythe, laughing.
"Pathetic. This was easy. You're weak. Useless. Why did your friends choose you, to face my brother?"
Something in me snapped. I hated, hated being called weak, or useless. My eyes were still fixed down, but I felt my arms move slightly. So did Kronos, as he stopped smiling. His eyes glowed brighter, and my arm stopped shifting. But this was my head. I pictured Kronos as weak, pathetic. Like the Nemean Lion had been. Tiny. Weightless. I opened my eyes, to see my father, with true fear in his.
"How?" he choked, holding out a hand, forcing me to stay still as I struggled. But as I pictured Kronos, I suddenly saw Annabeth, and Percy.
"Come on!"
"Fight it!"
They called at me. Kronos stared at them then back at me, terror etched onto his face. A third figure walked up to me, and I saw a mess of spiky black hair, and a pair of electric blue eyes. A soft hand touched my chin, and raised my head. I stared into Thalia's eyes, the blue I always found gorgeous. She smiled sadly.
"We need you, Fay. Wake up." And then she vanished, along with Percy and Annabeth. But it was all I needed. My bonds broke as I walked over to Kronos. Now my eyes were the ones glowing gold, and his had dulled. He shrank back, but I grabbed him and threw. There was no boundary in my mind to throw him against, so I thought of a giant axe. One materialised behind the flying form of my father, and it sprouted through his chest. Ichor poured out in pools. He coughed, and reached down, sliding the weapon of his chest. When he as free, he slumped to the ground. I picked him up by his head and threw him down again. In the kneeling position, he started laughing. I growled, still wordless. My whole body was glowing an ethereal gold now, and armour had started forming out of it. Soon, I was fully encased in Greek armour, pitch black, with intricate golden patterns actually snaking their way up and down the pieces.
"You. Are. Still. Afraid," choked out Kronos. I glared, before snatching up his scythe, pointing it at my chest. I carved more words into me as I stared wordlessly at my weak father. When I threw it down, he looked up, and the last drop of ichor paled from his face, before he vanished from my head. I bent down, picking up the golden hourglass left behind. I twirled it, watching as the sand fell back and forth as I did so. I smiled, before making it vanish. Kronos' power was not mine. I had my own power. The power of a half human, half titan lord. He didn't own me. I belonged to my friends, to myself, to no one else. This. Was. My. Power. As I slowly started to wake, I glanced down at my chest, the words I had carved were still bleeding:
Son
Of
Kronos
What do you think? I tried something different this time. Hope you like it. Comment criticism or praise alike. Happy reading. A review from Dudududhehe asking for a Fayzoe.
I'm not sure. I might do another spinoff OC later, but I kinda want to keep it Faylia. I'm liking it.
