A/N: i hope the 7 chapters has brought you joy to read again and become a history learned about the Lakota peoples back in the western time so far. I love history in general and I can admit I dont still know alot of the history or forgotten alot, but this time era is something that Always made me happy to read and now write about in story-typing way. I hope you feel/felt the same way. This chapter will contain the return of the brother who left with stragglers and his family. Aswell that Rachel and her story will be in it, a small bit at least in the next chapter, if you want me to include it. Until then, I hope and wish you love this filler chapter too. Part 8 - Life Goes On and Lost Brother Back!
Years went by as the lost brother left them to seek out the whites doing and getting weapons to kill with and hunt with like the whites would do, in meantime, She Wolf and Dog Star had two more children during these years while Running Fox and his family and friends were away, two boys, they named Red Lance and Voices That Carry. They with their older siblings were thriving in the tribe.
Life went on in the tribe, they lost their leader in old age, and Dog Star, Running Fox and Loved by the Bull's father was chosen to become the new leader in the tribe, as their sons became prince and their wives princesses. And his wife became the Queen.
Even this going on, they all missed Running Fox and his families and friends that was the glue between the two brothers who done everything with each other before problems and marriage set them apart from each other.
About 4 years later, they all sat around the fire and telling each other a story, She Wolf was inside of their tipe making children their lunches as she heard some commotion outside, so she peeked out to see Running Fox and his company coming riding onto their horses, she went over to their other opening and ran towards her husband and their family sitting around the fire, as she said to him;
"My Love, It seems your long lost brother has come back. I just saw them through our other opening."
Making them all to stand up and look over the men coming back into their grounds, Dog Star and his father shared a loaded look, as She Wolf stood by their side before she went back inside to their children, their oldest, which was the twins, were now 14 years old, and they hadn't seen their uncle, aunt and cousins in 4 years time, so they might not remember and their two youngest were 8 and 4 years old. Too young to know them any way or shape.
She gave them their lunches, and the twins asked if they with some of their friends could go to the pond and play for abit, which she said it was ok, but an adult would be nearby if anything was to happen, and the twins were just happy to have this time to play too, so they didnt mind that an adult would be around them and keep an eye on them. It was normal to do so anyways. The two youngest went instead in search of their father and She Wolf followed them, holding their hands in hers. As soon Voices That Carry saw his father standing with a man who looked similiar to him, he yelled out;
"Daddy!" And he ran full throttle towards his father, who turned and bent down and picked the young boy up into the air, as She Wolf chuckles and smiled at the sight, as she came up to the two men and their father next to them. Red Lance went to his grandfather and grandmother and stood with them for now.
She Wolf turned to her husband, said;
"Everything ok here?"
Dog Star just nodded his head yes that it was ok now. She turned to Running Fox and greeted him with her signature hug and then hugged his wife and the kids was also introduced to them all.
"So little brother, you seems to have gain more family, I see?"
"Yes, Red Lance first then Voices That Carry. 8 and 4 years old. We might not have anymore children but that is fine, we have 4 and the two oldest are 14 now. Where are they by the way, Love?"
"They went with their friends to play in the pond, dont worry I got few adults keeping an eye on them, and they dont mind that."
"Good, then they are at least as safe they can be."
After some time and tentative greetings of their oldest to their aunt and uncles and cousins, they also laid down the axe around their issues for once and all, and they went back being as close they used to be, if not more. Running Fox's oldest son had married while they were gone on their trip to a young woman called Blue Bird and she was quite the beauty and she also was expecting the two's first child, so making soon Running Fox a grandfather.
So Life was going well so far in the tribe, Loved by the Bull had briefly left the tribe to seek his answers but came back emptyhanded of answers of his vision for now. Just a time question of what he saw, could or might happen. Who knows?
