Chapter 9: Katsuki
Katsuki watched the clouds move across the sky as he leaned against the wall in the hallway. They were just beginning to reflect the soft orange glow of the sun setting, which set Katsuki on edge. He needed to be getting to the hospital soon, as All Might really shouldn't be kept waiting. As other students continued to file out of the classroom door beside him, Kirishima and Sero approached him.
"Do you want some company on your way to the hospital, Bakugo?" Kirishima offered him a smile, fingers wrapping tightly around the strap of his book bag. Sero stood beside him awkwardly, not really sure what to say.
"Thanks, but I'm waiting for Uraraka."
"Right..." Kirishima nodded, glancing quizzically at Sero, and began to turn away with Sero following suit. "Well, text me if you change your mind. Neither of us are doing anything tonight and we'd be happy to distract you from your thoughts for a while. If I were you, I'd be drowning in mine." He attempted a chuckle, but fell silent when Katsuki failed to join him.
As Kirishima and Sero turned to go, Uraraka came barreling out of the classroom with a stack of books in her arms. She collided instantly with Kirishima, knocking them both to the ground and scattering her books across the hallway.
"Kirishima!" Uraraka yelped. "Oh, sorry! I'm in such a hurry I'm not looking where I'm going."
"Don't worry about it, Uraraka! You have important places to be, after all." Kirishima smiled as he stood and brushed off his pants, then extended a hand and pulled Uraraka up.
Katsuki joined him and Sero as they helped her pick up her belongings, then yanked the stacks of books out of Kirishima and Sero's hands and began walking down the hall.
"Bakugo-kun!" Uraraka started chasing after him, offering a small wave of thanks to the two boys behind her. "Can I please have those books back? I'll need them to study later!"
Don't worry," Katsuki huffed as she caught up to him and placed a hand on his arm. "I'm gonna return them to you when we get to Nezu's office."
"Oh…"
"Don't look at me like that." Katsuki could see a glint of surprise light up in the girl's eyes. He looked away as he picked up speed. "I just don't want him to yell at you for breaking the rules or something. I'm responsible, too, probably more than you are. We should face him together, it's only fair."
"Well… thank you, Bakugo-kun. And thank you for believing me earlier." Katsuki chose not to reply, so Uraraka trained her eyes towards the ground and remained silent for the remainder of their short walk to Nezu's office. When Katsuki glanced over, however, he could see her mind turning in the way her eyes began to glaze over.
When they reached the door of Nezu's office, Uraraka stepped forward and reached to knock, but before she had the chance Katsuki had unzipped her book bag and shoved the stack of books in.
"Now neither of us has to carry them," he said as he yanked the bag, forcing Uraraka to let it fall off her shoulder. He tossed it onto the chair next to the office door before reaching forward and knocking.
"Come in!" They heard Nezu's muffled voice on the other side, so Katsuki turned the knob and stepped into the office. "Oh! Bakugo-san! I believe you should be on your way to talk to All Might, hence why Uraraka-san was asked to come here alone."
Katsuki moved forward into the room to provide space for Uraraka to enter as well, but then stood unmovingly, hands crossed at his torso. "Sir," he spoke clearly and confidently. "I came with her because I'm prepared to accept the same punishment. It was my idea to go out and look for Midoriya."
Nezu began to chuckle, then pushed his chair out from behind his desk and hopped down, coming over to the cluster of chairs in the middle of the room. He motioned for Uraraka to sit down, then sat across from her.
"There will be no punishments doled out here, young Bakugo. I'm sure your sensei already informed you of that. I simply wanted to talk over the weekend's events in as much detail as possible and put together a formal collection of information to present to Midnight and the police she's working with. I know you two have already shared your story with some of the teachers, but I thought I would ask you again to remember anything new after a good night's sleep. After hearing that All Might requested to speak with you, I figured Uraraka could meet with me on her own. We need to get any new information to Midnight as quickly as possible."
"Oh…" Katsuki could feel the heat rising into his cheeks. Aizawa-sensei had already cleared them of all their guilt, but that moment in the hospital room had quickly been forgotten amongst all of the other things racing through Katsuki's head.
"I expect that All Might has much more pressing matters to speak with you about, as well." Nezu offered Katsuki a small wink. "Now, Bakugo-san, please make your way to the hospital."
"Right!" Katsuki bowed slightly and began to retreat out of the room.
"Bakugo!" Uraraka stood again. "If you get a chance to talk to Deku, tell him I'll come visit as soon as students are allowed. I can't believe you get to go when everyone else has to wait, but at least tell him I'm thinking about him."
"Will do!" Katsuki yelled over his shoulder before shutting the door behind him and breaking into a sprint.
The uneasiness in his stomach at the thought of talking to All Might, not knowing exactly what they would be discussing, made him want to slow down and take as long as possible to arrive at the hospital, but he knew this conversation was important. All Might wasn't stupid; he knew something strange had occurred concerning Deku's involvement with One for All and he wanted to talk to Katsuki about it. He wanted to be prepared for whatever was coming around the corner. But was it possible for All Might to be prepared, as a retired hero? He couldn't waste another minute stalling, so he pushed back his sense of dread and shifted into a fast-paced run.
As Katsuki wandered through the waiting room where he had spent hours waiting on Saturday night, his anxiety-no, he couldn't give it that label, his bad feeling-seemed to increase. He visualized Uraraka again sitting in the chair closest to the double doors leading into the hospital proper, biting her nails off until her fingers were close to bleeding. He had just paced around all night, unable to sit still. Katsuki shook his head and pressed forward, arriving at the nearby elevator and going up to Deku's floor.
When the doors opened, the hallway was empty. Katsuki wasn't sure where All Might had expected to meet him, but he didn't think it was in Deku's room. Nonetheless, he walked slowly down the hall and arrived at the door of the hospital room, where he stopped and peered through the small glass pane in the door.
Inside, Deku was asleep as Katsuki had expected him to be, sedated with whatever drug was flowing through the IV attached to his arm. Like Aizawa had reported, the oxygen mask had been switched out for equipment with small tubes sticking straight into the boy's nose. Katsuki could see the recording of the heart monitor as well, showing that Deku's heart was beating normally. Overall, besides the bandages, Deku looked much better than the last time Katsuki had seen him just a day before. He couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
Katsuki panned his vision across the room until he spotted All Might standing in front of the window, gazing outside. He pushed open the door and began to approach, but All Might turned at the sound of his entrance and touched a finger to his lips, signaling for silence. Katsuki stopped in his tracks and raised his arms in a questioning motion, then followed with his vision as All Might pointed to the opposite end of the room.
There was a small couch pushed up against the wall opposite to the hospital bed, with a wooden end table next to it. Deku's mother was fast asleep with her head leaning on one arm of the couch, wearing the same clothes she had been the day before. Her eyes were still ringed in red, even more noticeably now than they had been when Katsuki and Uraraka had first seen her.
"She finally fell asleep about an hour ago, after staying up all last night and all day today," All Might whispered as he met Katsuki in the middle of the room. He didn't look much better than Inko, but he had at least changed his clothes. "Come, there's a small waiting room down the hall. I'll buy you a coffee from the vending machine and we can talk there."
Katsuki followed him out of the room, watching as All Might hesitated with his hand on the doorknob and looked concernedly at Deku. "He'll be okay!" Katsuki hissed quietly, placing a hand lightly on his sensei's back and pushing encouragingly. All Might nodded and began moving again.
Once in the waiting room, the two found a small clump of chairs next to a window. The sun was beginning to set properly now, and Katsuki found himself watching All Might gaze out at the rays it cast over the city.
"Have you been able to talk to Midoriya at all?" Katsuki asked after a long moment of silence.
"No, he's been sedated the whole time I've been here."
"Why did you decide to stay here at the hospital instead of coming to school then?"
"I…" All Might swirled the coffee around in his cup, then took a long gulp. "I know I'm not much help as a hero anymore, young Bakugo, but I can't help but want to offer any assistance I can. I want to protect Midoriya in even the smallest way, and I want to provide some sort of reassurance to his mother. It hurts me to see him lying in that hospital bed, and I can't imagine how much it hurts his mother, so I want to alleviate that pain by staying by her side to watch over him."
"Makes sense," Bakugo mumbled, the haggard appearance of Midoriya Inko asleep on the couch running through his mind again.
"That's why I need you to explain to me what you didn't explain to Aizawa. I know you are hiding something, because you tensed up when young Uraraka mentioned that Midoriya said my name when he woke up. I don't want to interrogate you, young Bakugo, but if there is something relating to One for All that you aren't telling me, I need to know, for Midoriya's protection."
Katsuki stared into All Might's eyes for a moment, not sure that he could get his mouth to move the way he knew it had to. He didn't want to share what Deku had told him in confidence, but maybe if All Might knew now, he would be able to process everything before the League made another move and wouldn't end up doing something reckless. Katsuki was obviously taking too long wrestling with his conscience, because All Might began to speak again.
"Let me tell you something that not many know about, young Bakugo. You may have already guessed this, given Shigaraki's choice to target Midoriya, but during my fight with All for One, he confessed that he knew about Midoriya. He knew that Midoriya inherited One for All from me. After he was imprisoned, I went to visit him again. He had such confidence that I would be defeated, even then, when he had been beaten. This was because Shigaraki was still out there. I told him that I would never let Shigaraki kill me, that instead I would crush the future plans that All for One had for Shigaraki. Now I see that those plans involve Midoriya much more heavily than I had thought. Shigaraki's plans to defeat me will involve him from now on, I'm sure of it.
"All Might…" Katsuki felt the strength to speak welling up inside of him, realizing that All Might essentially knew most everything that he and Deku had come to learn over the past seventy-two hours. "We think that Deku is Shigaraki's key to defeating you and erasing you from hero society. Shigaraki was really gunning to kill Deku after he refused to cooperate with him, and then Deku had a dream. He didn't tell me much about it, but he said it made him realize that Shigaraki would try to kill him first, before anything else. He hasn't learned everything about One for All yet, and is still only a high school kid, so by Shigaraki's logic he's easy to eliminate before he can truly become your successor. Once he's gone, Shigaraki probably thinks taking you out will be no problem."
All Might stared at Katsuki, then nodded slowly and gulped down the rest of his coffee. "Thank you for sharing that with me, young Bakugo. My suspicions were not far off. I'm sorry that the League of Villains found out about the relationship between Midoriya and I. It has made his life so much harder, but he is strong. I know he will manage to overcome their tactics, continue training with me, and become a wonderful hero. As will you."
"Thank you, sir." Katsuki looked down at the remnants of his coffee. The guilty weight that had been living in the pit of his stomach vanished, but he still couldn't shake his uneasy feeling. "What… what will you do now, All Might?"
"There are only two others who know about One for All," All Might said as he stood up. "As I explained to you when you first found out about it."
"Right," Katsuki nodded. The thought of Uraraka's discovery of the secret popped into his head, but he pushed it down. Instead, he listed their names. "Recovery Girl and Principal Nezu."
"Correct," All Might replied as he tossed his coffee cup into a nearby trash can. "I need to go and speak with Principal Nezu at once about your news and make sure that U.A. is fully equipped to deal with another possible League attack. There are too many watching eyes in the hospital for them to attack while Midoriya is still recovering here, but I can't say the same about the dorms at U.A. They've infiltrated our training grounds multiple times before, so I'm a bit uneasy about the security we have."
"Please be careful on your way back to the school, sir," Katsuki replied as he stood and tossed his cup away as well. "Just because we think their primary target is Midoriya doesn't mean you're not still at risk."
All Might beamed. "Thank you, young Bakugo! But I'll just be heading down to the first floor of the hospital. There's a small garden out back that I find excellent for a bit of privacy, so I'll give Principal Nezu a call from there. I shouldn't be gone more than an hour, hopefully." He moved closer to Katsuki, the orange sunlight streaming through the window and catching in his hair. "I need you to do me a favor while I'm doing that. Please watch over Midoriya and his mother for me. Student visitors aren't allowed, but the doctors already expected you here because of me. Can you do that?"
"Yes sir," Katsuki nodded and began to follow as All Might walked down the hallway, towards Deku's room and the elevator. All Might continued on towards the elevator as Katsuki stopped outside of Deku's room, but then stopped just in front of the elevator.
"If you don't want to disturb Midoriya's mother, why don't you take a seat out here?" All Might gestured to the chairs that were scattered around the periphery of the hallway, clustered outside of patients' rooms and near side corridors. He nodded towards Katsuki's book bag, which he had deposited in a chair near Deku's door. "Get some homework done!"
Katsuki stooped to pick it up as All Might slipped into the elevator, offering a quick wave as the doors closed in front of him. Sighing, Katsuki admitted to himself that All Might's idea was pretty good if he was going to be stuck in this hallway for the next hour, at least. He snuck a glance through the glass pane in the door of Deku's room, noted that his mother was still sound asleep, as was Deku, and then plopped down in the chair next to the door.
Katsuki pulled a notebook and a textbook out of his bag, then flipped it open to one of the chapters that he had blown off taking notes on over the weekend so that he could catch up on sleep. It would be a pain to catch up, but he figured that with no distractions, he could get it all done tonight, sitting here in this chair.
"That's a pretty big textbook, kid. What are they teaching you in school these days?"
The voice, speaking so suddenly when the hallway had been virtually silent moments before, almost caused Katsuki to jump and drop his pencil. He looked up and scanned the length of the hallway, finally noticing a person sitting in a chair next to a room a few doors down, towards the waiting room. He and All Might had walked right past the guy.
"Oh, just a bit of battle tactics in this chapter," Katsuki joked lightly.
"So you're in a hero course then? That's nice. You'd make a good one." The man's voice was scratchy and hard to understand properly right away, and his appearance was similar. A dark baseball cap cast a shadow over his face and he leaned back in his chair so that his head was against the back of the chair and was somewhat concealed by his shoulders. His hands were stuffed into the front pocket of his hoodie and his feet were splayed out in front of him haphazardly. He had long hair that was pulled back into a ponytail at the nape of his neck, with tendrils of loose hair concealing what would have been visible of his face if his hair had been shorter.
"Uh… thanks," Katsuki replied slowly. "If you don't mind me asking, are you okay? You seem a little down… I hope whoever you're visiting is doing alright."
"Thanks, kid. Yeah, it's my dad. He got in a pretty bad car accident, massive hole in his stomach."
"I hope he pulls through."
When the man didn't offer any kind of reply, Katsuki returned to his notes. Even though they were for his hero courses, the chapter was dry as hell. Still, Katsuki pressed on and tried to get as much done as possible. After a few pages though, he found he needed a break. Maybe a snack from the vending machine in the waiting room would give him the energy boost he needed, so he set down the book on the chair next to him just in time to see a sudden movement cross his field of vision.
The man with the dark hat was walking directly in front of him, passing by on his way to the elevator. Must be calling it a night, Katsuki thought, glancing at the time on his phone as he searched his bag for some loose change. But the sound of elevator doors never met Katsuki's ears, replaced instead by the soft swinging of a light wooden door. Katsuki froze, then bolted to his feet, scattering papers and pencils across the floor. He turned and slammed his weight into the door of Deku's hospital room, then raced inside.
The man with the baseball cap was standing over Deku's bed, dangling the IV from one outstretched hand. Deku's blood dripped slowly off of the IV needle, spattering the floor next to the bed softly.
"Hey! Get the hell away from him!" Katsuki moved slowly towards the man, unsure how to proceed with suspicion rising that this could be a member of the League of Villains.
The man turned his head slowly, not far enough to reveal his face, and jiggled the IV a little bit. "Shh, little Bakugo! We don't want to wake up mommy dearest over there. Oh, too late."
Katsuki turned to see Midoriya's mother stirring on the couch, sitting up and rubbing her eyes. "Is Izuku awake?" she began to say, then opened her eyes and saw the man's back looming before her, the IV in his hand continuing to drip red splotches onto the floor.
"Who are you?" Katsuki bellowed, moving forward step by painful step, furious with himself for being so cautious.
"Do you really need me to answer that?" The man finally lifted his head over his shoulder, his hat still concealing his eyes, but his eerie smile finally illuminated under the room's fluorescent lighting.
Katsuki couldn't let himself just stand there any longer. He had so much anger welling up inside him, and he needed to let it out despite how afraid he was.
"Shigaraki!" He howled, propelling himself forward with two explosions from his palms. Shigaraki simply sidestepped and Katsuki landed hard at the foot of the bed, on top of Deku's legs.
Katsuki heard a yelp and looked over to see Deku stirring, his eyes opening slightly and his head moving slowly to try to focus on whatever was pressing down on his legs. He scrambled to alleviate the weight and rolled off the bed to the window-side.
"Well, that was stupid of you." Shigaraki snickered and dropped the IV, then placed a hand on one of Deku's ankles through the blankets. "In trying to save your poor friend, you ended up causing him pain. Isn't that the worst? And you know what else was stupid of you? Not noticing the guy sitting just down the hall from you was the man you rescued your friend from in the first place. I guess a hat and some bad posture can really confuse you."
Katsuki opened his mouth to speak, but as he saw Deku's eyes open fully and pain begin to wash over his face, he couldn't utter a word. Deku was still looking at him, and Katsuki couldn't even tell if he was aware of the dark presence on the other side of the bed.
"Get away from my son!" Midoriya Inko shouted, pulling a small flower vase towards her from the couch's end table with her quirk and hurling it at Shigaraki's head. The distance was too far for her, however, and the vase broke just in front of his feet.
Shigaraki started laughing maniacally and clapped his hands together twice. "What a good effort, mama Midoriya, but no luck!" He smiled at her as she stood frozen in place, unable to do anything more.
Katsuki was still looking at Deku, racking his brain for a way to get Shigaraki out of the room in order to fight him properly, or lead him to pro-heroes somehow. At the sound of his mother's voice, Deku's eyes had popped wide and he had begun searching for her wildly. A sudden flash of pain registering across his face pulled Katsuki out of his thoughts and towards Shigaraki, who was applying pressure to Deku's ankle.
"Hello there, Midoriya," Shigaraki spoke, leaning close and forcing Deku to finally look at him. "I have to say, I'm getting a bit tired of you. I didn't think this little project of mine would take this long, and we haven't even seen an appearance from All Might yet."
"You… won't…" Midoriya struggled to speak, using what little strength he had to push himself up to a shaky sitting position.
"Oh, eventually, I will. But you won't be around to witness," Shigaraki declared, walking his fingers up Deku's leg, jabbing with each finger pressing down.
Losing all sense of composure and completely unsure of what to do, Katsuki let his body take control from his mind. He planted one hand on Deku's upper arm and blasted an explosion in Shigaraki's direction, pulling Deku towards himself simultaneously. Shigaraki bent his head and the explosion crashed into the wall behind him, creating a massive hole. Deku fell out of the bed with a stifled scream, the electrodes ripping off his chest and the oxygen tubes yanking out of his nose.
"Trust me, okay?!" Katsuki screamed into his ear as Shigaraki began laughing again. "You have to be strong! Fight how tired your body is, and I'll take care of the rest!" Deku nodded weakly and bit his lip as Katsuki scooped him up, not having the time he would've liked to be tender or careful.
I'm crazy, Katsuki thought, but in his panic there was only one solution coming to mind. He pressed Deku's head into the crook of his collarbone and wrapped his arms protectively across Deku's back and legs, then backed away as Shigaraki came around the end of the bed with both arms raised.
"This ends now," Shigaraki said exasperatedly, annoyance stretching across his face as the setting sun behind Katsuki illuminated it fully.
Katsuki hated the idea of doing so, but he took his eyes off Shigaraki for a moment and put as much force as he could muster into a firm kick to the window. Cracks began spiraling out from the point of impact, until finally it shattered, leaving the narrow ledge outside available for Katsuki to climb onto.
Once outside, with the wind whipping wildly around them, Shigaraki pressing in close and Inko seeming about to pass out behind him, Katsuki whispered into the top of Deku's head, "I'm going to let go of you with one hand, and you need to hang onto me with all the strength you have, okay? I'm going to use my quirk to launch off this ledge and try to get us down to the ground, but I don't know how it will go with one hand!"
"I trust you!" Deku managed to reply, so Katsuki released the arm that was holding Deku's back. He felt Deku's grip tighten around his ribcage and prayed silently that Deku would be able to endure the pain long enough to hold on.
Suddenly, one hand wrapped around Katsuki's ankle and he began to feel a burning sensation-Shigaraki was using his quirk. He didn't have time to think, so he shot his free hand back into the room and prepared to release an explosion, luckily causing Shigaraki to retreat for a moment. Katsuki released the explosion and the two boys shot upwards into the sky, suspended in midair for less than a second before Katsuki began releasing shot after shot, trying to develop an arc of motion towards the ground.
Think! Katsuki screamed internally. We need a soft landing! Anywhere grassy, or even water would work if we hit it just right! They were approaching the ground quickly, however, and there was no more time to think. Wait! The garden All Might mentioned!
Katsuki began scouring the ground below them as quickly as possible for any sign of the garden, and saw it just out of the corner of his eye. He provided another large explosion behind him to try to hoist them into the air a little farther and make up the difference they would need, and it worked. They shot upwards again, then Katsuki peppered the sky above them with explosions from different angles, finally coming close to a large patch of grass in the middle of the garden.
"Landing!" Katsuki shouted as he clutched his hand over Deku's head and pulled him close again, doing his best to shield him from whatever damage they might take. They hit the ground, Katsuki landing mostly on his back, and rolled for a few feet before coming to a stop by making contact with a stone bench. Katsuki's arms were the first to slam into it, but it jolted slightly into Deku's back as well.
"Deku!" Katsuki leaned back and sat up, his body hovering over Deku's. "You're okay, yeah?"
Deku was laying on his side, his injured arm underneath the weight of the rest of his body. His eyes were closed and his breathing was heavily labored. Katsuki could feel panic rising in his chest, but Deku slowly moved his head up and down in a singular nod.
"Oh, thank God." Katsuki leaned back on his heels and wiped his hand across his face, then looked above them to the shattered window, four stories above them. Shigaraki no longer stood at the window. "I can't believe we just did that," he breathed. "I really hope your mom got the hell out of there."
"My mom!" Deku's eyes opened wide.
"Hey, it's okay! Don't worry. Here, I have my phone with me. Let's call her, can you do that?" He helped Deku to sit up and lean against the leg of the bench, then fished his phone out of his pocket and carefully placed it in Deku's shaking fingers. "When you're done, we can call All Might or maybe look for him. He said he was gonna be down here…"
While Deku caught his breath and slowly, deliberately dialed each number of his mother's cell phone number, Katsuki scanned their surroundings for any sign of All Might. He got up and walked a few paces until the entirety of the garden was in his view, but still, no one was there. He sighed and returned to Deku, who offered the phone to him as he approached.
"No answer?" Deku shook his head, then grimaced from the pain. Katsuki squatted down in front of Deku and quickly looked him over for any new injuries. There weren't any that he could see, but some of the bandages were beginning to tear and unravel and Deku was beginning to shiver from the cool night air in his hospital-issued pants and no shirt. Katsuki quickly sent off a text to Uraraka, asking her to notify Aizawa of a problem at the hospital, then dialed All Might's number, but he didn't pick up. "He could've finished up out here and gone back inside while we were still up there… We should get moving. I don't think it's safe to go back inside the hospital until we hear from All Might or your mom, which leaves U.A. Can you stand?"
He extended both hands in front of him to help Deku to his feet, but Katsuki could tell that even though Deku never said a thing, every movement was excruciating and he was still having a hard time breathing properly.
"Okay, I'll carry you," Katsuki said, then moved forward despite Deku's protests and hoisted him onto the bench behind him. "I'll turn around and you can climb on my back. That way I can try to use both hands if we run into any more trouble."
Katsuki moved as close as possible to the bench, doing his best to alleviate some of the pain Deku would have to go through to climb onto his back. Once on his back, Deku tried his best to stop himself from hissing with the pain of the wounds on his chest making contact with Katsuki's back, while Katsuki tried as hard as he could to prevent himself from holding Deku up by his knees, which were some of the more damaged parts of his body. It was akin to walking through a field scattered with land mines.
"It's okay, Kacchan, I can handle it," Deku panted over his shoulder. "Gosh, you must feel like a babysitter taking care of a two-year-old or something."
"I don't mind," Katsuki mumbled as he began trekking towards the garden gate. "Now, you might as well try to get some sleep while you're chilling and I'm doing all the work. Hopefully by the time you wake up you'll be in Recovery Girl's office. Or your own bed. That would probably be even better cuz then Uraraka will stop pestering me about making sure you're okay and just hover around you herself. She wanted me to tell you she would visit as soon as she could, by the way."
"She did?" Deku's voice was soft in Katsuki's ear, his breathing more evenly paced. He was definitely beginning to lose his grip on consciousness, whether it was because he was ready to sleep or because his body physically couldn't keep him awake any longer, Katsuki wasn't sure.
"Mhm." Katsuki nodded, then felt a small pressure on his left shoulder as Deku let his head fall. He looked up at the shattered window again, then scanned the street stretching out before him. Katsuki collected a large breath of air into his lungs, then began walking carefully into the quickly darkening night. "Sweet dreams, shitty Deku. I'll get you home safe."
