Albedo held in a whistle. He resisted spinning around in Henry's swivel chair. He ran his hands across the keyboard. He leaned in close to the computer, 'I can barely hear the fan.' He put his hand in front of one of the tower vents, 'but it's powerful.' He sat up straight. He quickly scanned the informational sticker, 'No way,' he looked at the already loaded desktop screen, 'He had to have had this upgraded.'
He looked back towards Jenrya's bed. Jenrya the occupant, stirred in his sleep. Albedo stared out the large window next to him. Since the apartment was so high up, even from where Albedo was sitting, the sky in detail was visible. Albedo turned back around. 'Hmph, at least he was right about the weather. Stupid fool.'
He glanced at the time, '3.30. I'll need to wake him up soon.' He rested his chin on his hand, propping his arm up on the desk by his elbow. The placement put his line of sight directly on the photograph on Jenrya's desk.
The male had black hair, with wild and uneven dark burgundy red highlights. It was short, cut in a bowl shape, save for the few ends that curled upwards as though he had rolled curlers in his hand the "wrong way" or outwards. The highlights matched his eyes. He stood behind Jenrya with his pale arms slung over his shoulders. His hands held Jenrya's and if Albedo ignored the confident smirk on the male's face he could have imagined him being someone decent.
He stole another glance at Jenrya, 'I know you've better taste than this. How'd you get involved with such a hoodlum looking man?' The computer's antivirus popped up a notice on the screen. Albedo turned his attention back to it, 'I'll let you update.'
He quickly opened a browser window as well as the computer properties. He held in another whistle, 'One TB of space...quad core hard drive...look at that ram...This thing has impressive specs for a backwater planet processing computer. Partitioned hard drive...' He glanced back at Jenrya, 'It's hard to find your intelligence, wherever I go.' He held in a dejected sigh.
That wasn't why he had decided to sneak on Jenrya's computer however. He navigated using the keyboard, a quick search and a few moments of memorization and Albedo was working as though he had been surrounded by human technology his entire life.
'There's more than one Season? That's just great.' Albedo tapped his fingers against his thigh, 'I'm going to be there all night. Jenrya better make this worth it. Dejimon Adobencha is the first season of the anime Saga Digimon Digital Monsters. It's premise involves a group of boys and girls being whisked to a parallel reality called the Digital World (sometimes called "DigiWorld" for short) while at summer camp...'
His eyes skimmed through the webpages, careful not to spoil himself too bad. He didn't have difficulty with that, however, as every once in a while, his eyes drifted back to the picture.
The black haired male looked as though one risked a broken nose just by greeting him. Yet there he was with his arms wrapped around a smiling Jenrya. No, not a smiling Jenrya, a grinning Jenrya. Looked as giddy as Tennyson after a fight ended in his victory.
Albedo picked up the image. A part of him wanted to throw it. This nameless man injured… maimed Jenrya. He was sure of it. Sure that he took that smile from him. He shook his head and rolled his eyes, 'Smiles can't be stolen.' He put the frame back on the table, sure of it's new location matching it's old one.
He held in a jump as something clicked to his left. He glanced back at Jenrya. Slumber still held onto him tightly. He turned back around and looked at the green and white device sitting next to Jenrya's cell phone. "Like the show hm?" He mumbled. He kept his eyes on Jenrya as he moved to pick it up.
It was still as light in his hands as it was the first time. It felt like a human child's plastic play toy, not something that helped to save a portion of Japan. He flipped it over careful to hold the belt strap to keep it from jingling and clicking, 'If I could take it apart... To figure out how it worked just may help me return to my original form.' He turned to the computer still holding the device.
'Ah...Digivice...it's primary use is to empower the Digidestined's partner Digimon through Digivolution...' A smirk came to Albedo's face, 'It's similar to a primitive Ultimatrix...fascinating. Is this coincidence or luck?"
Albedo jerked around. Jenrya rolled over in his sleep, mumbling something incoherent. Albedo looked down at the device.
'This may be my only chance to get a good look at this thing.' The wheels turned in Albedo's mind. He looked at the computer's time. 'I may be able to squeeze in another half hour.' Jenrya's threat concerning his Digivice rang out clearly in his mind. He couldn't risk too greatly having his plans ruined.
He looked back at the picture, unsure why. He looked back at the device. The screen was blank, and it still felt like a toy. 'This is as ridiculous as my apology to him. He'll never know. The digital World is categorized in Azmuth's database but there's as little information on it as there is for Anodyne.'
He pressed a button on the device, and held in another whistle as a holographic display popped up. The display was blank. Albedo stared in wonder. 'Trial and error hm?' He pressed another button, watching the screen scroll through more blank screens. Each screen sat above a circular holographic platform of circling characters Albedo didn't recognize.
'Digimon Probably have the basics: currency, culture, language et cetera, et cetera. Not surprised. They're probably capable of learning Earth languages as well then. Data can adapt surprisingly well so long as whatever is processing it has enough memory and resources to do it' He flipped the device to the side and the display disappeared, '...Looks like a slot for some kind of card...'
"If I want to hang out with you, I think I've every right to."
Albedo focused on Jenrya's computer screen watching the episode of Digimon playing from a long list of DVD videos. He still could not believe the amount of Digimon items Jenrya had secretly stashed away: figurines, keychains, plushies, DVDs & movie tapes, limited edition items. Quite a few of them represented a single black eyed, long eared bunny...dog...thing with a single horn on its head.
"It's not like they've any control over me."
"They don't like when people who are right show them when they are wrong."
Jenrya rolled his wrist, waving a hand, "I wouldn't say it like that." His head rested on Albedo's stomach. "I think I wouldn't even go there."
"Some places need to be visited at least once." Albedo lied on Jenrya's bed with his hair flipped up so it would not touch his neck.
"Why? So I can go off the wall like I did that other night?" Jenrya rocked his feet back and forth. Occasionally they'd brush against Albedo's.
"The outcome of solving the issue is all that matters. Anything else holds you back." Albedo's fingers ran through Jenrya's hair, gently petting his head.
"You're like a robot sometimes." Jenrya laughed, "They're not willing to see it any other way. I'm not sure what else I can do."
"Then move on. The whole thing is a waste of time then."
"They're my friends you know. They've been there for me for a long while." Jenrya sighed, "They make mistakes just like you or me."
"I don't make mistakes."
"Of course not Mr. Perfect."
"Even I'm not as perfect as you're implying." Albedo stared up at the ceiling. "There's more than one way to display imperfection."
Jenrya rolled over. He crossed his arms under his head, resting them on Albedo's stomach. He looked up at the silver haired man, watching him with his matching eyes, "What's that supposed to mean?"
"It doesn't matter."
"Of course it does. If I didn't care I wouldn't have asked."
Albedo looked down at Jenrya, his eyes studying him. He blinked a few times, mind wondering. His arms laid stiffly at his sides. He squinted his eyes. Jenrya just continued looking up at him smiling. "You say the strangest things."
Jenrya rolled his eyes, "If you don't get what I'm saying just say so."
"Ah, but that would go against my perfection." Albedo smirked coyly.
Jenrya pushed himself up on his hands, moving them from Albedo's torso. He pushed himself forward, pressing his lips to Albedo's.
Albedo's eyes widened, and he laid frozen under Jenrya's gestures. He could not remember the last time someone had done this to him. Jenrya's body felt warm against his own. He closed his eyes and pressed his lips against Jenrya's. He wrapped his arms around his back. He held in a soft whine when Jenrya pulled back after a few long moments.
"You may not be perfect, but I'd say you're pretty close." Jenrya laid down on his torso against Albedo again. He wrapped his arms around him.
