There was a lot that Alex had to think about at the moment. There were many questions on his head, both about the type of people he chose to trust and about his own short-comings. He was already eighteen, it was his last year and school and he had no idea what he wanted to do with his life. He didn't know what he could do with it. His social skills were practically non-existent; he had no dreams for the future, no career choice, and overall, he had no one that he could trust to lean him a shoulder when life gets hard. He couldn't always rely on his family, but he also had very little outside of it.

His friends have all already chosen where they want to continue studying, and what career they want to build. He was the only one who hasn't made any of those important decisions yet and was secretly hoping that he would never have to. He had always hoped that the universe would relieve him of having to make that decision by letting him die during some alien attack, or some other such thoughts that reflecting back on, he realized how stupid it was to wish your own death because you couldn't choose which university you want to continue your education.

More important than those life decisions were his current relationship with those around him. It had already been a few days, but Elis's betrayal was still stinging the same. No, she wasn't the one that betrayed him, he was the one that betrayed her trust. He put himself before her, and almost killed her sister not carrying that she was there, that she was watching. He was so enraged by the fact that Elin hurt his family that he didn't even notice that he was doing the same to Elis by losing control like that.

And there he was again, hiding inside the storage, tweaking with alien tech that he had at hand, trying to ignore all of those problems he had by building something. He looked at the black and purple gauntlet that he was holding, it was something related to some ancient Chronian civilization or something. He wasn't sure exactly what the device was and Alexis had locked his Timewalker transformation after she arrived on Earth, so he couldn't just turn into that species and figure it out either.

He looked the device over, it would have probably been a better idea for Alex to turn into Big Brain or Crabrain when dealing with fragile alien technology, but maybe out of stupidity, or maybe because his mind simply wasn't focused on what his hands were doing, he didn't. As a result, when he accidentally pressed a small button on the surface of the gauntlet that made it glow an eerie purple color while releasing bolts of purple lightning that eventually hit Alex, he had nobody but himself to blame, as his vision began to turn to black, and he lost consciousness.

"Ok, this doesn't happen very often."

After waking up, Alex looked around himself, only to find that he was no longer inside the storage room of his base. In fact, he was almost convinced that he wasn't on planet Earth. He was in some dense forest, maybe even jungle with the trees around him all having some sort of face with closed eyes. There were bushes made from the same bluish-crystal as Diamondguy with pink crystal fruits hanging from them. He checked his Omnimatrix, then double-checked to be sure, but it was showing him that he was still on Earth. Somewhere in North America, but he was on Earth, as unbelievable as it was.

He looked at the gauntlet that he was holding, and placed it on his left wrist. The device locked itself securely around his arm, almost the same way the Omnimatrix did. He had no idea exactly what was happening, but if his gut feeling was to be trusted, then he probably wasn't on HIS Earth. Maybe he was in a different timeline, which sounded crazy, but he did have an alien, at one point two aliens, that was able to manipulate time, and even though he had never left his own timeline before, the fact was, he had seen a glimpse of such alternative possibilities as Warrio'Clock, so it wasn't too farfetched.

If that was the case, then maybe Warrio'Clock would also be able to fix, whatever he had to fix, and return him back to his home? Alex activated his Omnimatrix with this idea in mind and began to scroll through his forms, when a sudden loud roar, not too far away from him caught his attention.

He pulled his hand back, something that his watch mistakenly calculated as his having picked a form, and the black faceplate was pulled back to reveal the core. Alex looked at the watch for a moment, figuring that it would be better to transform AFTER knowing what he's up against, and grabbed the core, rotating it counter-clockwise, which caused the core to return back into the main-body and the faceplate to slid back up.

Alex walked toward the crystalized bushes and pushed them aside slightly while trying not to get cut on the sharp edges. He saw a pool of water under the hill that he was apparently on. There were three humans armed with laser pistols, a member of Fire Force's species and a member of Wildumb's species, all fighting some sort of huge snake-like creature with red skin and water tubes running over his body, connecting to the side of its mouth.

The Pyronite threw a fireball at the large beast, but it simply bounced off its hardened skin, as the monster turned toward it and opened its mouth, releasing a blast of water that blasted the Pyronite into the large pool of water while also extinguishing its fire. The monster then slammed its head against the ground and swiped it to the side, knocking the Vulpimancer away.

"Ok, the more I'm staying here, the more questions I start to have." Alex sighed and activated his Omnimatrix again. "Let's see. Fire Force would probably be a bad choice, seeing how the other fire guy fared. I guess Humanosaur would be a good choice? Let's give it a try!"

Alex slapped the watch and transformed, blue fur covering his body, and another pair of arms appeared under the first pair, as he turned into Spidermonkey. He looked himself over and sighed.

"Or maybe Spidermonkey. Yes, Spidermonkey is fine too."

The large red snake roared and turned its attention toward the three humans. Realizing what was going to happen if he wasted any more time, Alex jumped off the hill, firing a web from his tail that stuck on the snake's back, as he pulled himself and landed on top of the creature, surprising it and causing it to scream, as its body began to twist and slam around wildly to try and shake him off, eventually succeeding to launch the strange blue monkey of itself and into the water.

Alex swam back up to the surface and shook his wet fur before looking back at the large red snake, which he just noticed didn't have any eyes either. He was so lucky that Spidermonkey had the natural ability to swim, or else Alex would have been a goner. The giant snake roared, a very unnatural behavior for a snake, but then again, snakes also weren't three stories tall firing water blasts from their mouths. It pounced on the blue monkey, eating him whole in one bite before turning back to its initial prey.

The Pyronite had managed to crawl out of the water, his entire body soaked in water and couldn't ignite its flames anymore. The snake turned toward it and opened its mouth, firing another blast of water that would finish the job for sure.

Well, at least it tried to fire a blast of water.

Instead, it felt an intense amount of pressure starting to build up inside its mouth. Not just that, but this monkey that it had eaten, was somehow still in its mouth, running left and right? The monster roared in pain and began to swing its body around, slamming it into the nearby ground, and sending dirt and mud flying in all directions, as the pressure continued to build up, the water tubes starting to crack, until, they broke and the water spilled out of them, raining down on the humans and their alien allies.

A moment later, the huge red-armored snake collapsed on the ground, dead.

"W-what just happened?" One of the humans, a young man with shaved head asked.

"I'm not sure." A young woman with short red hair shook her head.

Suddenly, the snake's head began to move again, and the two aliens jumped in front of the humans defensively. Fireballs and blaster pistols in hand, they all too aim at the giant creature, as its mouth began to open, and suddenly the strange blue monkey rolled out, covered in drool.

"I'm alive," Alex muttered to himself, before looking at his drool-covered body. "But at what cost."

He looked up and noticed that the group he thought he was helping, had their weapons aimed at him, and quickly jumped back, raising his hands. As he did, he noticed that the aliens had badges on their chests, similar to the ones his transformation had, but those were just blank grey symbols. They seemed to have noticed his symbol as well since the Pyronite quickly extinguished his fireball and pointed at the others to stand down.

"You're an Unitrix user as well?" the Pyronite looked at him. "Which tribe do you belong to?"

"Tribe? Is America really that backward?" Alex asked, as one of his lower arms slapped the Omnimatrix symbol, reverting him back to human. There was however a strange purple spark of electricity surrounding the watch this time around. "Also what's an Unitrix?"

The Pyronite gave Alex a puzzled guy before slapping the symbol on his chest, reverting back to a tall young man with a ponytail and a small beard. A moment later, the Vulpimancer hit his own badge and reverted to a human as well.

"Where did you even come from?" the guy with the beard asked.

"East Europe." Alex shrugged. "It's kind of a long story. What about you? Why is everything here looking so alien?"

Everybody gave him a puzzled look, like he was crazy, which suggested to him that there was something that was very common knowledge that lead all of this. Maybe he should fake memory loss?

"Lead me to your leader?" Alex raised an eyebrow.

"I'm their leader." The guy with the beard stated.

Alex blinked. He rubbed his eyes, but it was still the same. He had a very hard time believing it, but the 'tribe' that the people he found were talking about was a small village made from wood and stood; mostly stone, surrounded by a wall made from parts of destroyed cars, buses, and trucks. And then, in complete contrast to the primitive settlement, there were all sorts of advanced alien technology lied around inside the village.

"How did everything get so fucked up?" Alex asked.

"Nobody knows for sure." The guy with the beard stated. "One day, there was that huge explosion of green energy that wiped out the entire west coast. A large cloud of radiation engulfed the continent in two days, the world in two weeks. Some sort of alien bioweapon, it mutated the flora and fauna into what we have to live with today. But that's not the worst part, you see. Somehow, alien life forms began to form out of thin air. We don't know how exactly, but somehow, they all appear during the night, and no matter how many we kill, new ones will spawn a few days later."

"How did you get these watches though?" Alex asked, gesturing toward the Omnimatrix knock-off the man was wearing. Its design was very simple, a black wristband with a grey core connected to it.

"We built them." The man stated. "In the early days of the outbreak, there was an anonymous call, which contained blueprints for a device that could store alien DNA inside of itself and turn its user into another species. There was no way to build a complete version with our resources though. But your Unitrix looks an awful look like the blueprint."

"It's actually called the Omnimatrix. Some shorten it to just the Omnitrix, but I think they are stupid." Alex commented. "So, this Unitrix of yours, how many DNA samples can it contain?"

"One?" the man looked at him in confusion. "It's in the name Unitrix."

"I'm not good with Latin, ok?" Alex shook his head. "But whatever. How exactly do your decide what DNA your Unitrix will have?"

"Allow me to show you our DNA Lab." The man said, gesturing toward a metal bunker that, stuck out a lot from the other buildings, which were made from stone and wood. "Also, the name's Zack. Just call me that from here on, ok?"

"And I'm Alex."

The two of them walked into the metal bunker, and Alex's jaw just hit the floor, at the beauty that was presented in front of him. The entire room was filled with machinery with a green circuit running over it; that was Galvan technology, it was the hardest to get your hands on, while also being the most advanced one in the whole galaxy!

There was a table projecting the hologram of some sort of incomplete alien DNA, and sitting on a chair in front of it was a man in a torn lab coat, with black goggles over his eyes. He stopped on what he was working and turned toward them. Zack walked over and the two men shook hands, after which the scientist turned to Alex with a puzzled look on his face.

"Who's the kid?"

"Not sure myself, but his name is Alex, and he saved me while I was out there." Zack patted his friend on the shoulder. "Alex, meet Ratchet; he's the one responsible for creating our DNA cards."

"DNA cards?" Great, this was just getting more and more confusing with every passing moment.

"Our DNA cards contain, as their name suggests, DNA of alien species that can be scanned from the Unitrix, to change the saved transformation." Ratchet explained. "How do you not know that, kid?"

"Let's just say that I never had to use one before." At least that explained how the people here were able to get DNA for their transformation matrixes.

In many regards, the Unitrix technology they spoke of could be considered to be this Timeline's counterpart of the Prototrix Alex had to fight on his own. Cheap, easy to manufacture DNA carrying transformation matrix containing a very limited amount of DNA samples. For the Prototrix the number was 10 DNA samples, for the Unitrix, just 1. And if the Omnimatrix resembled the blueprints that were sent to these people, then it would be logical to conclude that a version of the actual Omnimatrix existed somewhere? No, it existed somewhere. If the Omnimatrix gets broken, it can start leaking DNA, mutating things around itself – that was what Alexis had told him once. And the whole aliens spawning out of thin air bit? That sounded a lot like the DNA Reviver function having gone haywire. It might sound like a lot of mental gymnastics would be required to conclude that a broken Omnimatrix caused all of this, but Alex knew his watch and what it's capable of.

He shook his head. Ultimately, it didn't matter what has happened to this timeline, since he was going to go back to his own. Alex reached to activate the Chronian gauntlet when he noticed that he wasn't carrying anything on his left arm. His eyes bulged; there was no way that the damn thing had fallen off his hand without him noticing, so where was it?

"Chief!" A man with short blonde hair barged into the room. "Candice's team still hasn't returned! It's already been twelve hours! Why wasn't a rescue team sent already?"

"Calm down, Raimond." Zack stepped in front of the man. "You know that all sort of stuff can happen out there. I myself just came back, and I haven't had the chance to familiarize myself with what has happened in my absence."

"He came an hour ago to me to ask the same thing." Ratchet interjected. "We don't have the manpower to prepare a rescue operation. People that just returned from food gathering are too tired to go out there again. At least those that did return. We lost a lot of people this time."

"I don't need excuses!" Raimond shouted at them. "If you won't send anyone to look for my sister, then I'll go myself!"

"Going out there alone would be suicidal!" Zack argued back. "You are one of the few Unitrix wielders that we have right now! I can't let you go on such a suicidal mission!"

"What about him!" Raimond pointed at Alex. "He's the new guy, right? Got told that he saved your ass out there while being on his own. Maybe he could come with me; it seems like he has a Unitrix."

"I'm just here to see how you guys are doing, I'm not planning to stay or get involved in your messes." Alex crossed his arms. "I have no interest in rescuing anyone; I just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time."

"Like now?" Raimond narrowed his eyes.

"I know that I won't be able to stop Raimond from going out there on his own if you decline." Zack sighed. "Our village doesn't have much to offer. But maybe there's something we could give you in return as payment for risking your life to help save our people?"

Money, huh? They were starting to talk Alex's language alright, but he really doubted that they had anything he would want. Normal money must have become worthless after the alien apocalypse hit, so they wouldn't have that. He did have his eyes on that Galvan technology behind them, however, something was telling him that this was the one thing they weren't going to be willing to give away.

"This whole equipment, did you guys built it, or did you get it from somewhere?" Alex asked, gesturing toward the lab, and more specifically, the strange robotic table and the DNA cards.

"It's alien in nature, but we were able to repair and even update it with scrap we found around." Ratchet commented. "But it's not for sale. We require this to make the Unitrix system work."

"I figured as much, but I can have the blueprints, can't I?" He didn't need the actual machine, how would he ever carry it back home? Getting the blueprints would be enough as Sandbox should be able to build one himself.

"It… didn't come with any blueprints on how to build one." Zack rubbed the back of his neck.

"I can take care of that myself," Alex replied. "Do we have a deal?"

"We do." Zack walked over and shook the boy's hand. "Raimond, I give you permission to go out there, accompanied by this boy."

"When I come back, it'll be with my sister," Raimond stated, then turned toward Ratchet. "I'll need a new alien form though. A Petrosapien should be tough enough."

"Let me see." The scientist walked back to his deck, looking through a few papers before finding a strange green card. He then returned to Raimond, putting the card over his Unitrix, which scanned it.

'Can't believe that I'll let myself be dragged into this.' Alex thought and looked back at the machine. 'On second thoughts, maybe I should just scan it down and disappear using Warrio'Clock? Nah, with my luck, I'll probably get The Ugly instead.'

And with that, Alex got himself another problem on his head that he was going to have to deal with.

Alex walked through the dark forest, following after the other guy. The trees with faces would always be scary for him, and yet, he just couldn't keep his eyes off them. What was it about just not being able to take your eyes off something that terrifies you, and yet, at the same time makes you absolutely curious because you would probably never again be able to see something like that? Though in this specific case, never seeing trees with human faces on them was something that Alex was looking forward to.

Could the same thing happen to his timeline as well? It was a strange thought, but it was definitely a possibility. Alex looked down at his watch one more time; throughout the five years he had that device on his wrist, he had always been curious just where the limit of its powers was. What could it not do? If an entire species go instinct, as long as its DNA is within the watch's database, Alex could revive it. Would that mean that the watch could also terraform a planet whose eco-system was destroyed? Could it destroy an entire planet or an entire species with just the pressing of a button? It was crazy, but the more Alex looked for the device's limits, the more he started to think that maybe the Omnimatrix didn't have any limits; that it could do about anything.

"No…" Raimond stopped and muttered something. Alex looked up from his watch and realized why they had stopped.

There were four human bodies lying on the ground in front of them. Raimond knelt down in front of them, taking a closer look, while Alex stood back, observing them from a distance. They were all killed by crystals that looked the same as Diamondguy's. One of them had crystal shards piercing their hearts, another had a large hole in his stomach. But the one Raimond was kneeling next to, appeared to have suffered the worst fate, with crystals coming out of his mouth, piercing his throat. Their attacker must have somehow grown crystals inside the man's body, piercing his internal organs.

"This was my sister's group," Raimond muttered.

"She's not here though." Alex leaned against a tree, before remembering that it had a face and quickly jumping away from it.

"This is Isaac, he was also a Unitrix wielder, but his Unitrix is gone." Raimond pointed out.

"So, were they ambushed by another tribe?" The Unitrix seemed to be quite the important device, and not everyone had one, so raiding nearby villages to restock was a possibility.

"I'm not sure but-! Wait, look." Raimond gestured to the dead man's hand, which seemed to be pointing toward a brush. Raimond walked over to the brush and looked through it, pulling out a Unitrix.

"He threw away his Unitrix." Alex narrowed his eyes. "He must have known that a team would be sent to search for them and that we would find the bodies. Tell me, one team consists of five people, right? Two Unitrix users and three regular folks."

"Yes," Raimond put the spare Unitrix into his pocket. "My sister was a Unitrix user as well."

That seemed to just enforce Alex's original conclusion that it must have been an attack by a rival tribe. Before they could investigate this any further, there was a sound of something moving through the bushes. The two men looked behind them, and a Petrosapien jumped out of the bushes, roaring at them. Wearing a completely white uniform, the creature didn't have a badge anywhere over his body, and unnatural purple eyes. He morphed his arms into blades and charged the two humans.

"Look out!" Raimond pushed Alex out of the way before slamming down his Unitrix, transforming into a copy of the charging Petrosapien, but with a grey badge on his chest, and yellow eyes.

Morphing his arms into blades as well, Raimond crashed with the incoming Petrosapien, and the two brutes began to trade blows with each other. Pieces of crystal broke off and fell to the ground, as the creatures quickly generated their wounds with a new layer of crystals and continued going at each other without a strategy; simply trying to overpower each other through brute force.

Alex jumped on his feet and scrolled through his transformation, searching for the most suitable form to quickly and efficiently subdue their foe. Petrosapiens were naturally vulnerable to sonic vibration, which meant that choosing Sonic Boiz was a no brainer. The faceplate retracted and Alex slapped the watch's core, his body transforming into a red pile of goo that morphed into a humanoid form with a nose-like beak and a small UFO-like white device over its head, which contained the Omnimatrix symbol.

"Want me to get creative again, do you?" Alex looked down at his arms. "Be careful what you wish for!"

The red goo lunged at the wild Petrosapien and splattered all over its face, blocking its vision. The crystalline life-form roared and began to swing its arms around wildly to keep Raimond from attacking him, while at the same time swinging his head left and right to get Goo of itself. After a few seconds of that, Alex wrapped his body around the Petrosapien's body, locking the large alien's arms near its body.

"Now, now, big guy. No need for all this screaming, we aren't going to hurt you!"

"What are you doing?" Raimond shouted.

"Trying to talk sense into him!" Alex retorted.

"Drones don't communicate kid! They only exist to kill and destroy!"

"A drone, huh?" Alex narrowed his eyes and looked back at the Petrosapien, who extended sharp spikes out of his body, piercing through the layer of red goo that was keeping him tied, but not doing much in the way of freeing itself. "He doesn't want to cooperate either way, so I'll try to make this as quick, as I can. Not that I'm going to like it."

Alex break off from the Petrosapien and levitated his body above the crystal alien before flying into his open mouth. The monster's eyes widened and it grabbed its throat, starting to choke, with goo blocking his respiration system. After a few moments, smoke began to come out of the creature's mouth, its insides starting to be dissolved by Alex's acidic touch. The Petrosapien let out a muffled cry, his eyes starting to change between purple and yellow, as its body collapsed backward. His stomach melting shortly after, with Alex flying out of it.

"I hope that getting eaten in order to destroy them on the inside won't become a trend," Alex muttered to himself.

"AAAAAAAAAA!" With a loud screeching, a white one-eyed ghost that resembled Wonder Ghost flew out of the dead body and sliced Alex's face apart with its claws before disappearing.

"An Ectonurite!?" Raimond jumped back in surprise.

"A rude one too," Alex crossed his arms, as the goo flew back to his body, regenerating his face. "Are these Ectonurites a normal occurrence around these parts?"

"They live in the abandoned city." Raimond de-transformed. "They are a mystery to us; move organized, not like the other monsters that you could find around."

"This one was lying in ambush." Alex pointed out. "He must have known that more humans would come. And also hiding inside a Petrosapien, the same species that killed everyone else here,"

"You mean that they might have taken my sister?"

"It might be a stretch, but like you said it yourself; they are organized. Ectonurites also don't like light, at least their original skin doesn't. So they would want to possess somebody to be able to move around during the day."

"Is that why they took my sister!?"

"Because she had a Unitrix, maybe." Alex looked back at 'Isaac'. "Would explain why after killing your friend they haven't looked for the Unitrix. They don't need just the device, or just a human- they need both to be present together."

"Then let's hurry!" Raimond shouted and ran off.

"Ah yes, my favorite tactic of running headfirst into a brick wall," Alex snored and flew after the human. "At least if you're dying, you won't be dying alone."

Bellwood,

Alex looked at the rusty sign for a few seconds, then turned his attention toward the city itself. It was dark. There were huge dark clouds above the city blocking any light; an occurrence that without a doubt wasn't a natural occurrence. As for the city itself; it was destroyed. It was what you would expect from a post-apocalyptic ghost town. There were no signs of life, but there were some strange webs all over the skyscrapers and the other larger buildings.

"It's a big place, where do we start?" Alex asked.

"The church." Raimond pointed out.

"You want to say a prayer?"

"A scouting party once came here. They said that the Ectonurite presence in this city is mostly focused around the church." Raimond stated. "They tried to scout a second time, but didn't return."

"That's encouraging."

Alex started walking off, with Raimond following after him. The two of them were able to get into the city with, surprising ease. Nothing came out to attack them, but after taking a closer look at the city, Alex had the feeling that nothing would even want to be here, in the first place. Unlike what he initially thought, there were humans in the city.

Dead humans.

Standing up, looking like they were trying to run away from something before meeting their demise. Their bodies were practically petrified, but it also wasn't completely right. All of their bodies were skinny, so much so that you could see their bones through the skin. It was like they were starved to death and then turned into rock, or that their bodies had started to decompose and THEN they got turned into stone. Looking at them was unnerving.

There were also no Ectonurites trying to block their path. It was starting to feel like they were letting them get to the church. In other words, this whole thing smelt like a trap, and Alex was going to spring it.

A purplish fog began to engulf the area, the closer they got to the church itself. Alex even caught sight of green vein-like things coming out of the ground here and there. After a short while, a small church came in sight, and standing in front of it was a young man with a purple jacket. Alex and Raimond stooped for a moment, then looked at each other, not sure what to make out of this. But since they had already gotten this far, they decided to continue, and see what this fella wanted.

"Came for your friends, did you not?" A hushed voice was carried through the air around then, and the young man turned to face them.

Pale white skin, his right eye was closed while the left one was almost twice bigger than normal and black with a small purple orb in the center. Black veins seemed to spread from his eye to the side of his head, and down his neck. On his left wrist was a purple watch that Alex could only guess to be another Unitrix.

"Let me guess, you're the big boss around these parts?" Alex crossed his arms and gave a confident smirk. "Although, you look pretty ugly."

"It's the fragility of your human body." The man commented. "Possess one for a few years and it starts to… change."

"I was told that you guys are simple drones without any thoughts, but you seem to be conscious," Alex pointed out. "Don't tell me I was lied to."

"You know nothing about Ectonurites, do you boy?" the man hissed.

"Never was interested in learning more about your kind." Alex activated his Omnimatrix. "But I'll be polite enough to give you the first move."

"First move? I don't need to make any moves!" the man laughed and raised his arms into the air. "Zs'Skayr commands you! Rise and fight for your master!"

At the man's words, multiple Ectonurites began coming out of the ground around the two humans. The doors of the church opened as well and three more humans walked out of them. One girl with blonde hair, and two young men, all three having black eyes with purple orbs inside of them, and a Unitrix on their wrists.

"Candice!" Raimond shouted and clenched his fists. "You bastard! Let my sister go!"

"I don't think he's going to listen to you," Alex muttered.

"Don't worry, you can join her very soon." Zs'Skayr laughed maniacally.

"If only I had an alien that could deal with ghosts and possession without harming the hosts." Alex sighed, then smirked as he looked at the hologram of the alien he had selected; a demonic-looking skull with the Omnimatrix symbol on the center of its face. "On wait, I do! Prepare for a one-way trip back to your maker! Courtesy of Thunderskull!"

Alex slammed down the core of the Omnimatrix and a tall yeti-like alien with bolts on its wrist and neck emerged to take the human's place. He paused, looking down at his arms before sighing.

"Is it something specific about today that makes you keep giving me the wrong alien?" Alex sighed and turned to his companion. "I'll neutralize the minion, you take down the boss, got it?"

Raimond nodded and transformed into Diamondguy. At the same time, Zs'Skayr and his human minions all slammed down the cores of their Unitrix devices. Candice morphed into a female Fire Force, with a Spidermonkey and a Thornshell appearing behind her. Zs'Skayr himself turned into a paler and larger version of Frost Lizard with sharp teeth and purple eyes.

Fire Force fired a fireball, and Alex stomped the ground, releasing a charge of electricity that covered a destroyed car lying nearby. The vehicle flew in front of Alex and Raimond, shielding them from the fire, a moment later vines shot from the ground below them and Alex jumped back while Raimond turned his arms into blades and started slicing them. The Omnimatrix user grabbed two of the vines with his arms and released electricity into them, the charge moving through the ground and hitting the Thornshell that was standing on the other side of the car, knocking it down.

The Ectonurites all charged the duo, but Alex roared, electricity shooting out of his body and creating a large electric force field that repelled them back for a moment. Alex threw his arms to the side and the field exploded into blasts of electricity that hit the nearly Ectonurites, which haven't turned intangible, knocking them out of the fight.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Alex turned around, and then quickly jumped back, barely dodging a crystal blade aimed at his head by a possessed Raimond.

"The Unitrix doesn't protect from being possessed, huh?" Alex noticed from the corner of his eyes Zs'Skayr opening his mouth, and jumped at Raimond, hitting him in the face with an electricity charged push, then grabbed his body and pushed him in front of himself, a freezing ray hitting and covering the possessed crystalline alien in a heavy chunk of ice.

"You might be able to transform as well, but that doesn't mean that you got any of the experience I have." Alex pointed at Zs'Skayr.

And not just him. Neither of the Ectonurites drones that were under his command had any experience with a transformation matrix. And those who have already possessed a body appear to have done so recently, their attack patterns were simple; their knowledge on the alien forms they have acquired, minimal.

Spidermonkey jumped on the car Alex had moved and fired a web at Stormfoot's face, but the bulky alien moved his arm in front of his face, which got wrapped into the web instead. Alex smirked and grabbed the web with his other arm while it was still attached to Spidermonkey's tail. He swung it around, pulling the small blue alien along with the web, and slammed him into a street lamp, then into the ground, knocking him out.

The car behind Alex exploded, sending him flying back. He landed on his arms and rolled on the ground, then turned to face the burning wrecked as Fire Force ran through it and unleashed a wave of fire aimed right at Stormfoot. The bulky electric alien gritted his teeth and slammed his fists together, creating a large electric shield in front of himself that blocked the fire and redirected it around Alex.

"Hitting Fire Force will be painful won't it?" Alex growled before an idea suddenly popped into his head.

He punched his electric shield, firing a beam of electricity through it that sliced through the wave of flames and hit Fire Force, knocking her back. With the fire barrage ended, Alex threw his right arm to the side, firing a blast of electricity that covered a nearby street lamp and pulled it out of the ground. The metal pole flew into Alex's arm and he grabbed it with a smirk then charged the Fire Force.

The fire alien fired another wall of flames, but Alex jumped over it this time and using the added reached that the pole gave him, slammed Fire Force in the head with the electricity-enhanced metal, dropping her on the ground after only one hit. The Ectonurites flew at Alex again, but he cloaked his entire body in electricity, zapping them the moment their bodies came in contact with his, with enough force to set their second skin on fire.

"What are you going to do now, Caspar?" Alex crossed his arms and spoke in a confident voice. "All of your minions drop like flies."

"That's why they are only minions." Zs'Skayr spat back, firing another blast of his freezing ray at the electrical yeti.

Alex jumped to the side, avoiding the freezing ray that began to trace after him. He quickly turned toward Zs'Skayr and, after charging the pole he was holding with more electricity, threw it like a spear at the pale blue lizard, forcing him to stop his attack and jump aside, as the pole flew past him and pierced the wall of the church, after which the electricity held within the metal pole, spread out, creating a powerful explosion of electricity that caused the entire wall to collapse.

Zs'Skayr's eyes widened in surprise. "If that attack hit me instead, this body would have been a goner."

"Duh, that was the point." Alex reverted back to human and activated his watch, quickly selected his Thunderskull form.

"The only point at the moment that matters is that you're open for an attack!" Zs'Skayr opened his mouth and fired another freezing blast.

Alex slammed the core and a red flash of light covered him, as the freezing ray connected, resulting in an explosion that covered the street and the windows of nearby buildings with frost. As everything cleared out, there was a large body of ice standing where Alex was moments ago, which made the possessed Frost Lizard smile triumphantly.

"If I'm gonna keep getting the wrong alien all the time, why do you even have a dial, to begin with?" Zs'Skayr's eye twitched in anger and he turned around to face an Ectonurite standing behind him.

More precisely, a Wonder Ghost.

Slightly larger than his sibling's version of the alien with a purple eye and a red Omnimatrix symbol peeking out of its skin, he looked at his arms for a second before turning his attention back to Zs'Skayr.

"Do you believe that you can defeat me, using the very form that I was born with?" Zs'Skayr narrowed his eyes.

"I somehow doubt that you were born looking as good as me," Wonder Ghost's eyes rose to watch as Thornshell wrapped its vines around the ice that kept Raimond trapped and started breaking it, while the other Unitrix users were getting back onto their feet as well.

"But let me get to the point." Alex looked back at Zs'Skayr. "I was actually interested in learning some more about your species. I know how your DNA works, and I also know how to do this,"

Alex's claws suddenly began to bulge and larger black claws tore through his skin, with his stomach opening up to reveal black and purple striped tentacles underneath. Alex grabbed his body, his new claws tearing through his white skin and he pulled it off, dropping the tattered white disguise on the ground below.

Levitating over Zs'Skayr was a much larger purple ghost with black lines over his chest, the lower part of which was exposed, showing six rib bones that jutted outward like jaws, with the tentacles coming out of his stomach. He had an upside-down skull with a single purple eye for a head and bone-like spikes coming out of his back. The Omnimatrix symbol was on his left pectoral.

"I never had much appreciation for this form, but I'd like if I said that this isn't going to be fun." Alex raised his arms, and a purple aura surrounded them; at the same moment, Zs'Skayr's body was levitated off the ground.

Alex threw his arms to the side, and Zs'Skayr's body was flung back, crashing through the ice covering Raimond. Both aliens dropped on the ground and Fire Force flew toward Alex, firing fire that made him screech in pain and fly into the ground, reappearing behind the Pyronite. He fired a purple energy beam from his arms, knocking the burning alien off its feet, then using his telekinetic powers, slammed him into the wall of a building.

"The only downgrade is that now I'm vulnerable to light as well." Alex shrugged, turning his body intangible as several black fruits flew through his body and hit the ground, exploding.

Alex paused for a moment, then grabbed the skin on his back and pulled it over his head like a hood. He flew through Thornshell's body, coming out of the other side holding an Ectonurite with his claws.

"Not immune to possession, remember?" Alex stabbed the Ectonurite in the eye with his claws and the smaller ghost's body combusted into purple flames that almost immediately rendered it into little more than ashes.

"Crafty child!" Zs'Skayr growled, reverting back to his human form. "Ectonurites! Tear him apart!"

At their leader's command, an entire swarm of around a hundred Ectonurites flew out of the shadows and charged at their enemy. Alex's eyes widened and he started swinging his claws at them as they came, slicing them in half, and firing energy beams from his chest, but it was only a matter of times, as the remaining Ectonurites pushed against him and threw him on the ground. The Ectonurites flew on their target, some grabbing his wrists and pulling his arms back while others started to punch and slash him with their claws. All in all, the fight very quickly turned into a huge pile of ghosts that completely covered Alex from view.

"How do you like that boy?!" Zs'Skayr laughed maniacally. "You will be torn to pieces by the very species you tried to control! But don't worry, I'll make sure to take good care of what remains. After all, it would be a shame to let that advanced Unitrix device you have on your wrist go to waste, right?"

Zs'Skayr laughed again, but this time, his laughter was cut short, as a wave of red energy exploded in the center of the pile of Ectonurites, sending the ghosts flying in different directions as black lightning shot out of the light and hit all of them, no matter if they were tangible or not, burning their bodies away, leaving nothing but ashes that were scattered by the wind.

Zs'Skayr gulped as he saw the creature standing in front of him. It was a demon whose body was made out of crimson bones held together by large purple, almost black, muscles. Its arms were large and heavy, with sharp claws and an extra set of bones covering the muscles, forming a gauntlet-like armor. His shoulders were large, covered bones whose structure resembled a shoulder plate. The creature had a long tail and its legs were bent in two places, similar to a dog's, each one ending with three long claws. Its head was small with two large black horns pocking out of the side, a huge mouth without limps that made the creature appear like it was always grinning, who knew, maybe it was. But the most important part of the creature's head was the single large eye socket, which contained the Omnimatrix symbol inside.

"Finally!" Alex claimed and looked down at his arms. "It's Thunderskull!"

"What is this?" Zs'Skayr stepped back, his confidence starting to slip away after seeing his army be decimated like that.

"I just said that it's Thunderskull, didn't you listen?" Alex 'looked' at his opponent, his permanently grinning face making him appear a little psychotic as he did so. "But you probably mean his species, if so then that's because Thunderskull's species doesn't exist in this universe!"

Alex clenched his fists, an arc of black lightning cracking to life, twitching between his fingers, as he threw his arms forward, launching a wave of black lightning that hit Zs'Skayr. The possessed human screamed as the lightning pushed a purple ghost that resembled Wonder Ghost's true form out of the body. The black electricity completely surrounded the ghost's body and then shot toward into different directions, hitting Fire Force, Spidermonkey, and Diamondguy, all of whom screamed as the Ectonurites possessing them were pushed out of their bodies, covered in the same black lightning.

"You… can't…" Zs'Skayr roared, as his body combusted into purple flames, followed by his minions.

"As for the powers, Exorcism would be a good way to put it." Alex turned up and fired a powerful blast of black lightning into the sky, piercing through the dark clouds and dispersing them.

For the first time in possible years, sunlight reached the city, giving it a spark of light. Alex turned back to the street and charged up another blast of black lightning which he threw at a nearby street lamp. The electricity hit its target and quickly spread through the cables across the city, reaching every street lamp, every building, and everything else that it could, as all the lambs, both on the street and inside the buildings lighted up with an eerily purple light.

"That's all I got." Alex took a deep breath and collapsed on one knee, as the Omnimatrix symbol inside his skull began flashing, and moments later, he reverted back to human.

The Unitrix users that were lying around him began to slowly get back up, some groaning and rubbing their heads in pain, trying to figure out where they were and how they got there. And others… Well…

"Candice!" Raimond embraced his sister tightly, tears rolling down his cheeks as he did. "You're ok… I'm so glad to see that you're ok… I was so scared that…"

"I know brother…" the girl whispered back, embracing her brother.

Alex walked over to the body that Zs'Skayr had possessed and looked at it. Even with the ghost gone, the corruption remained. His chest wasn't raising. Whoever this person was, he must have died a long time ago, leaving only an empty shell for Zs'Skayr to possess.

"What did you do?" Alex turned back, noticing Raimond and his sister looking at him. "This city. Sun hasn't been able to reach it in years!"

"Let's just say that I removed the taint of darkness from it." Alex shrugged. "Permanently."

"I didn't know that this was possible."

"Then it probably wasn't." Alex looked up, the sun's warmth washing over his body as he smiled. "But I did it."

"Today marks a historical day for us! Today, the darkness that reigned over Bellwood for five years has been lifted! Today, we take the first step toward reclaiming our home! Toward unity! Today, we will make Bellwood into a symbol of humanity's strength! A haven for our lost brothers and sister fighting in the wildness of this cruel world! A place for us all to come together as one, united!"

Back at the tribe, Zack was giving a speech to the other survivors, encouraging them to return back to the old city. To ally together with other small tribes nearby and restore the town of Bellwood. As for Alex, he was back into the bunker, pointing his Omnimatrix at the large machine. As per the agreement, he was going to take the blueprints. His Omnimatrix released a yellow light, scanning the large machine for a few seconds, before beeping in confirmation, as a hologram showing the schematics appeared in front of Alex.

"You probably have no idea how much you've done for humankind today." Ratchet stepped up to the young man.

"I just did what I promised," Alex shrugged. "Maybe a little more than that."

"A lot more. Here." Ratchet pulled out two grey cards and handed them to the boy.

"What's that?"

"DNA Cards. I have no idea what you would need the machine for, but you might need a few of those. I don't have many to spare, but I'm sure that you will find I way to make more for yourself."

"That's appreciated." Alex took the cards and put them into his pocket. "I should go now."

Ratchet nodded and stepped aside. Alex put his hood up and walked past him. As he reached the exit, the man behind him spoke once more.

"You know, one day there will be legends about your heroics."

Alex paused for a moment, then turned back with a smile on his face. "I doubt it."

He walked out of the settlement without being stopped by anybody else, and without talking to anybody. He was sure that Zack or Raimond would have thanked him, but he didn't need to hear any of that. He didn't want to. He just did what he felt like he had to do, not carrying about anything else. He didn't deserve praise for something that he decided to do on a whim.

Once the boy was far away from the settlement for nobody to disrupt him, he activated his Omnimatrix, a red ring displaying the heads of five aliens appeared. He scrolled through them until he found the transformation that he was looking for.

In a flash of red light, Warrio'Clock stood where the 18 years old boy was moments ago. After taking a moment to look at his hands, he commented.

"Seems like you were as eager to get back home as I was," Alex commented to the Omnimatrix's sudden choice to give him the alien he asked for.

He clapped his hands together and shoved them forward into the air, then turned his palms outwards into what appeared to be an outwards pushing motion. Some sort of time tear appeared, with the other side being the storage room he started from.

"There's a dark future awaiting this timeline," Alex muttered to himself as he walked through the portal, which closed behind him.

Thunderskull

Species: Arkfiend

Planet: Pandaimos (Alternative Dimension); Anur System (Dimension 2/Timeline 01)

Abilities: Electrokinesis, Dark Energy Manipulation, Limited Ectoplasm Manipulation, Exorcism, Weather Manipulation

Extra: Thunderskull's species originates in a Dark Dimension of some sort, an alternative Dark Universe. A rumor has it that the Anur System exist between dimensions, or that it's simply a doorway to other such realms, and the Arkfiend were the natives of one such dimension who were able to anchor their reality to the Anur System, allowing them to appear within it.

Because they exist in an alternative Dimension and have anchored themselves to the Anur System of Dimension 02, Timeline 01, the Arkfiend species doesn't exist within other timelines.
