"... As promised, I will now open the floor to any questions regarding the Ranger bio series suits, vehicles, and hardware." Dr. K said as she turned her back on the screens, it displayed several different pictures of the Rangers suits and Zords. "Anyone?" she asked, as none of the Rangers spoke or raised their hands. She sighed in annoyance, "speak now or forever hold your peace."
Then everyone, except Dillon and Ryder, raised one of their hands, Ziggy raised both. Dr. K pointed at Scott.
"What's with the eyes on our Zords?" Scott asked standing in front of Dr. K.
"What eyes?" Dr. K frowned looking back at the screen confused.
"What do you mean what eyes?" Scott asked. He pointed at the picture of his eagle Zord, where two big eyes were placed at the front. "Right there, the front of our Zords."
"They are not eyes." Dr. K sighed. "They're optical field scanning sensors for your cockpit's H.U.D display."
"Well, they look like... well, they look like..." Scott stammered.
"They look like eyes." Ryder finishing his sentence.
"Yeah." Ziggy agreed. "Big, googly, anime eyes," he added.
"Next!" Dr. K yelled.
Scott re-took his seat. As Scott sat down, Ziggy jumped up walking towards Dr. K, "ok, so sometimes, when I morph, I can't help but notice this gigantic explosion right behind me, for no apparent reason."
Dr. K cocked her head to the side and stared at the green Ranger. "I assume you're referring to the residual energy runoffs that are sometimes necessary to clear the suit's biofield channels during the morph." Dr. K pointed to the screen as a picture of Ziggy morphing appeared.
"I'm referring to the six-story-high fireballs - like that one right there!" Ziggy exclaimed denying what she just mentioned, pointing at the giant explosion on the screen. "Now, could that happen to me in the kitchen or something?"
Dr. K rolled her eyes. "Why would you want to morph in the kitchen?" Ryder asked. "Plus, it's releasing extra energy. If it was contained, it would become a harmful substance that we would be carrying while fighting … right?" Ryder asked for confirmation from Doc.
"Correct. But it doesn't happen all the time when you morph, so you release that energy while fighting."
Ziggy rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly and returned to his seat.
Flynn was next, "when we morph, is it absolutely 100% necessary that we scream, 'RPM, GET IN GEAR,' at the top of our lungs?" the blue Ranger asked.
"Uh, that's a very good point." Ziggy agreed. "Some of us out there are trying to impress chicks."
"You impress no one," Ryder cruelly, bluntly informed. Dillon and Scott smothered their amusement under the wicked glare from Dr. K.
"The vocal call out is a voice-recognition safety and security measure." Dr. K explained, patiently, although she felt the desired need to hit each of the Rangers over the head.
"Well, maybe we could have a bit of a change," Flynn suggested.
"A change?" Dr. K challenged.
"Uh, like, um..." Flynn stammered. "'Rangers to the Rescue,' or, um, 'Ranger Justice Unleashed'?"
"That would be more embarrassing," Ryder commented, while Dillon and Scott agreed.
"Just is an abstract ideological concept." Dr. K pointed out paying no mind to what Ryder just said. "We deal with tangible realities, not justice. Do you want justice? Then read a comic book. Next."
At her words, Flynn chewed the inside of his lower lip as his mind faded back to the time when he was back at home, reading a comic book at school.
Before any other questions could be asked or answered, the alarms went off. "A shield breach- industrial district, zone seven." Dr. K analyses the location of the disturbance.
Immediately, the rangers took off to the scene. It wasn't long before they got there. When they did, they saw Tenaya with her mask on and next to her stood three Attack Bots.
"You have got to be kidding me," Ryder complained.
The green bot with a tank looking mouth was on its knees and facing the earth. Ryder analyzed the two other bots, which didn't look like Attack Bots, somehow they looked smarter as if they had intelligence. They were Shifter and Crunch.
"Could we get this done before you know who gets here?"
"Sorry Tenaya," Scott mockingly apologized. "You're too late," then stated.
Grinders came out of nowhere, "Attack!" Tenaya ordered, all grinders rushed forward to the Rangers.
Ryder had her own group this time, she started with back kicks and back fists to take out three Grinders. Then, with two Grinders, she did a crescent kick, a punch, and a leg sweep.
Few more Grinders left, no big deal, she reminded herself.
"Let's dance, rust buckets," Ryder said getting into a fighting stance. They all surrounded her, cautiously closing in her. Ryder rushed forward grabbing one of its arms and flipping it over her shoulder onto another Grinder. She sidekick one onto another causing them to fall to the ground destroyed.
All grinders were destroyed so she went to rejoin her team. She saw the two Bots pointed their staffs at Flynn and out came a green laser blast from one staff and a yellow laser blast from the other. Flynn flew and dropped to the ground, his back facing up.
"Flynn!" Scott shouted rushing to his side checking if he was ok. The other joining them on their sides making a line.
"Ready! RPM! Get in gear!" They all yelled out their vocal call and morphed. An explosion appeared in the background. Wasn't too big, but noticeable. Ziggy turned around and looked down. The floor looked orangish from the explosion.
"There! See that explosion." As Ziggy said that, the orangish floor began to lose color. It then seemed that the explosion never happened. The team ignored Ziggy and ran towards the threat.
"I'm telling you- That was just a little one." Ziggy turned back and noticed his teammates weren't there with him. Suddenly, Tenaya came out of nowhere, running towards Ziggy, and kicked him down.
"Actually, Rangers… this feels so good to say…" Suddenly, there was a giant thud that interrupted Tenaya. She turned around and saw that the green Attack Bot grew bigger, "...you're the ones who are too late." Tenaya finished.
Ryder then noticed the mega Bot. "Fuck," focusing back on the Grinders she was facing and continued to fight.
"Come on. We got to stop that thing from, well, from..." Scott tried to think what the Attack Bot was going to do.
"From whatever it is it's going to do." Summer finished for Scott. Ziggy was fighting against Tenaya.
"Uh, ok, now, not the face," Ziggy said as Tenaya was about to hit him.
"I love Rangers… So determined, so heroic, and they come in all sizes, shapes, and colors, too." Tenaya said in a mocking tone. She then threw Ziggy towards one of the other Attack Bots she came with. Ziggy got up and started fighting.
Ryder pushed her Grinders away, wanting to go help Ziggy with Tenaya, but Flynn beat her to it.
"uh," Ryder's confusion was cut off when a couple of Grinders she was fighting grabbed her from behind and threw her in the air. "Ah!" She explained surprised before landing on her feet, prepared for an attack, which came behind her after a second.
Tenaya told her analysis to Flynn. "Red is the perfect one, Black is the brooding bad boy, Green is the clown, Yellow, well, she's the girl, and Grey is the tomboy. So, what are you supposed to be?"
Flynn pushed her back a bit, and Flynn has a good comeback. "I'm Scottish," Flynn answered. He was doing well on his own. Ryder almost got rid of her Grinders, but there were still too many.
"I'm tired of this," Ryder complained. Her upper body shrinking, a red aura was seen around her, and on instinct, she shouted, "heatwave!" A large wave of energy shot out of her. Once the waves hit, the energy knocked both enemy and allies to the ground. The Grinders malfunctioned and one by one, all fell, each one dropped to the ground. She then commented impressed by her work, "that was unexpected."
Suddenly, after 1-3 seconds, about twenty Grinders appeared out of nowhere.
"Come on! Give this girl a break!" She complained, again. "Stay down this time," Ryder advised, though no-grinder would listen.
She grabbed her daggers then lowered her left hand and ran around in a circle. As she did that, the blade hit all of the Grinders. She kept spinning and as soon as she got back to where she started, all the Grinders fell like dominos. They were malfunction and defeated on the ground, sparks visible.
"You're going down!" Dillon growled. He and Ryder ran towards Tenaya to fight her. Flynn wasn't fighting with them, but they didn't have time to think about it.
Dillon and Ryder got Tenaya in an armlock to try to buy time for a recharge."Energy lock! Need recharge time!" Dillon announced for both of them. He was feeling just as tired as Ryder, who was trying to hide it.
"Activating Time Freeze Burst!" Flynn yelled hitting his Morpher. A white grid covered his suit, as electrical bursts of energy ripped over him. Flynn frowned as he watched his friends continue to fight, but found that he couldn't move a muscle. Ryder analyzed and it seemed as if Flynn was malfunctioning like when Ryder was fighting the Grinders.
"Flynn? What's wrong?" Ryder asked worried for her friend. Forgetting her opponent for a second, Tenaya side-kicked Ryder away. Ava rolled on the ground and hit a metal wall. One of her daggers slipped out of her hands. Mental note: search for it later.
"Ryder!" Dillon called out.
"I'm fine! What about Flynn?" The mentioned girl asked standing up.
"Rangers, I'm showing a primary suit malfunction in Series Blue. My instruments are showing a time-freeze reversal loop. Rangers, can you confirm?" Dr. K spoke on the comms. As Dr. K was speaking, Grinders took this opportunity to attack Flynn, but luckily, Ziggy came to the rescue.
"Flynn, you OK?" Summer called, as she tried to keep Shifter at bay.
"Flynn, talk to me," Scott said continuously fighting with Crunch.
Ryder didn't take her eyes off of Flynn. It was like he was paralyzed. "He's paralyzed," Ryder informed his obvious condition. Gripping the dagger she didn't lose on her hand tightly. Grinders were surrounding Flynn with only Ziggy protecting him.
Ryder ran towards them and helped take down some Grinders. Summer and Scott were thrown their way. They quickly got back up and helped destroy Grinders. Thus, protecting Flynn as well. They all tried calling his name, but there was no response.
Summer got up and shook his shoulders "He's not responding!"
"Fall back! Focus on protecting Blue!" Scott ordered. Even though that's what everyone was already doing, they didn't comment on it. Their teammate is physically vulnerable right now to Grinder attacks. Ryder looked around checking on her teammates Dillon still fighting against Tenaya.
Dillon was pushed back towards the team. "A touching display of teamwork," sneered Tenaya. "But you just gave me and my attack bot time to make our dramatic exit," Tenaya growled at her, aimed her blaster, and fired several shots into the ground. A cloud of dust and debris blew up around the three generals, and when it cleared the Rangers saw that they were gone Towering over the city, the attack bot also disappeared in a dust cloud.
As soon as the enemy had disappeared, Flynn unfroze. "My suit, what happened?" Flynn asked, looking down at his hands.
Flynn, Scott, and Summer went back to the garage while Dillon, Ziggy, and Ryder went to patrol the city until the Attack Bot comes back. The three morphed into their power suits and went to patrol.
Dillon and Ziggy went to patrol together while Ryder separated from them to cover more space.
"Rangers Black and Green, you're patrolling close to what could be Venjix's next target." Dr. K spoke on the commlink.
"Closer than you think, Doc," Dillon responded. Ziggy freaked and put his arms in front of his face.
If they are closer than they think, they should be right under it. Ryder thought.
Ryder doesn't have a Zord, she is an Ultra-man. The Morpher contained Mebius the Ultra-man. Once she bonded with the Grey Morpher, she along bonded with Mebius' Morpher.
|| Flashback ||
"Hello," called out a voice.
Ryder was defensive, "who are you?" She asked consciously.
Once the owner of the voice stood in view, he was holding his arm as if injured, "my name is Mebius."
"What are you?" Her stance went back to casual but still defensive.
"I am what you humans call an alien." Ryder went back to defensive, "I'm not here to hurt you or anyone, I am just … resting."
Finally taking in her surroundings she asked, "where are we? I was fighting with my team some time ago. Where…?"
"In your mind."
Ryder gave him an unnamed look, "If we are in my mind, how and why are you here?"
"I am residing in your body, dormant in a way. The last battle it …, I was injured to a great extent, enough that I had to 'sleep'. When you bonded with tat Morpher," Mebius pointed at the RPM Morpher, "you also bonded with mine," he pointed at his Morpher. "currently I am residing in your body."
"That is not weird shit at all," Ryder relies sarcastically taking in all the information. "so why are you here? Like talking to me."
"Your team and yourself are like my people, you fight to protect your city, we fight to protect the universe." Ryder gave a lot, "Fine, what I want to say is that you can use my power. I have seen through your battles when the monster turns … big, you don't have a device to fight. Once you use my power your ability to turn that big. Here I'll show you."
He raised his hand and it starts to glow. Ryder instinctively raises her hands to her eyes, as she did so, information crashed like a train in her mind. She then knew all (not really) information on Ultra-man. At least more than humans.
"Use my power to your will. Help your comrades, oh and don't tell them, it's a secret and burned all Ultra-Man bear."
He started to fade.
"Wait, why don't you think I will use it for good?!" She shouted.
"I trust my comrades." He said giving her his signature grin before fully disappearing.
|| Flashback ||
She looked at her arm, her RPM Morpher morphed into Mebius' Morpher. "Comrade," She mumbled looking at his Morpher. Thinking again she remembered he was 'sleeping' inside her, touching her chest she said, "I'll help my friends. Thank you."
She rushed to help her friends, raising her hand she shouted "MEBIUS!"
She could still listen in on her coms. "It's right on top of us!" Ziggy yelled. Yup, she was right.
"Rangers Black, and Green, maintain visual on the target. Red and Yellow are on their way." Dr. K said.
"Better hurry, Doc- it looks like that thing just found what it was looking for," Dillon warned through the coms. The Attack Bot bent over and aimed its large drill to the ground.
Reaching their location, Ryder/Mebius saw that the barrel was facing the ground. Walking up to the Giant Bot she grabbed the small Bot's head lifting it, away from its original target.
"Doc, we got another problem," Dillon announced worried.
"What is it?" Doc asked confused
Ziggy exclaimed while pointing, "there is a-a giant! A giant in a suit!?"
"What is the current status?" Doc asked
"Right now, it's punching the MegaBot."
"Right, stay alert if it's a threat. Rangers Black, and Green, I'm down-morphing the Croc Carrier to you now. If that Attack Bot succeeds in drilling to the fault line, Venjix will have won." Dr. K said
"ValveMax Megazord!" Dillon and Ziggy combined their Zords with the Croc Carrier to create their Megazord. The ValveMax Megazord combined and stood next to the unknown giant with space in between them, alert.
Then, the Attack Bot stood up and aimed its drill at the ValveMax Megazord. Mebius saw its intention and moved in front of the rangers Megazord shielding the Megazord from the attack. Looking behind him and spoke, "名前はメビウス!" It didn't work out as he had hoped because it came out in Japanese.
Shaking his head, he focused back on shielding them from the lava.
"Doc, what did the Giant say? It sounded Japanese." Dillon questioned.
Doc was currently deciphering what it said he said, "Mebius the name." She answered.
"Well, I guess he's a friend," Dillon said.
"いい加減にして！ 嫌いな人, ばか, 私を助けてください! クソ, それは痛い!"
"And he sounds mad," Ziggy commented, "let's help him out."
Once the ValveMax Megazord stopped the MegaBot from firing lava. Mebius kneeled holding his chest where the blue light was released by a beeping red. A few minutes left, he thought.
They somehow only made things worse. Now the Bot had both the Megazord and Mebius pined "Ah! 助けて!" He shouted at the new Megazord present.
"We're going down," Dillon announced.
"Down, but not out!" A certain Scottish voice said. Mebius looked to his left just in time to see a large mechanical hand hit the Attack Bot and the Attack Bot flew far back, but not too far.
Scott, Summer, and Flynn came to the rescue in their High Octane Megazord. Dillon and Ziggy worked their way to get their Megazord to stand up.
"Initiating Super Saber!" Flynn said. A huge blue mechanical saber appeared and the High Octane Megazord grabbed it. "Power Rangers RPM!" Flynn said. Mebius watched as the High Octane Megazord used its wheels on the bottom of its feet to roll its way towards the Attack Bot. "Super Saber!" Flynn controlled his side of the Megazord and sliced the saber across the Attack Bot. The Attack Bot started malfunctioning and then exploded. The battle was won.
The Megazords turned, facing Mebius. He nodded as a 'thanks' "what do we do with him?" Ziggy questioned.
His answer was simple. He flew up to where the shields were. "Oh, no! He's going to destroy the shields!" Scott yelled in alarm.
They could chase him as he was above ground. But what surprised them most was that when he touched the shields he disappeared, not breaking them.
"Well, the battle is over and done with. Why don't we all go back to the garage?" Ziggy trying to ignore what just happened.
Ryder appeared in the original place where she morphed. Looking at Mebius Morpher she mumbled to herself, "first time for everything." It morphed back to its original form.
"Ryder!" Scott shouted as he and the others ran other to her. "Where were you?"
"I don't particularly have a Zord, so I stayed on the sidelines." Ryder lied, they couldn't know, it was a rule.
"Ok, we were planning on heading back to the garage. But before you go, did you see the giants, well I think he is called Mebius from what Doc said, but," he turned around continued to ramble.
The team looked at each other and nodded in agreement to the silent suggestion. Quietly they all backed away from the rambling green ranger. He turned around "and-" he stopped when he noticed they were gone. "They went without me."
