The group got prepared to head into the portal. "Let's go!" Donguk ordered the group to start heading towards the portal.
The group went into the dungeon and it looked like there would be no monsters. Zen picked up that it had to be insect-typed monsters, so he yelled that out for his allies and all the small ant-like monsters were eventually killed by the group.
Donguk observed one of the corpses to see that it wasn't killed by the original group, so it had to be killed by either Zen, an E Rank, or Jin, a D Rank with expensive armor. Kim was the obvious answer and it became obvious that he had ill intentions.
As the group traveled through the tunnels in the mission, Zen got a notification.
[Beware of Lizards.]
"I don't know why...but I know that my premonitions can't be wrong." Zen thought as he walked with the group.
The group eventually got to a room littered with corpses of insect monsters.
"Yindo, light." Donguk asked of the black haired teen, who followed and gave him some light.
The light illuminated the room to show huge thick webs all over the room. The group stayed quiet and walked deeper inside to see tons of Mana crystals scattered about.
Donguk thought about his little brother thinking that he's better than his older brother, he thought about how he went to America because of him getting an S Rank for his Hunter ranking.
Jin brought up the contract and asked about splitting the crystals, Donguk guaranteed that the crystals and profits will be split evenly.
In the end of some quarreling with an unprepared teammate, Donguk asked the two to stay inside the boss room. Jin agreed with it on Zen's say.
"It didn't make sense, if they did this normally, they wouldn't of had 10 people, they would have 8. Now it makes sense though, they do this to kill the additional 2 and rob them of their valuables." Zen thought.
"Yindo, block the boss's entrance." Donguk said with a devilish smirk.
Yindo let out a one handed explosion to bring down the rocks and block the two in the boss room. The rocks fell down from the shaking from the explosion.
"Th...The entrance!" Jin yelled out, quite shocked that he and Zen were betrayed.
"Those bastards...are the Lizards!" Zen linked the original notification to his theory.
Zen remembered being warned about Lizards.
"Lizards?" Zen repeated.
"Sometimes there are lizard-like bastards. Because there is such little security in dungeons, people can do mostly whatever they'd like to."
"If you're weak, you'll be thrown away quickly, but if you're strong, people will seek that strength."
"Just like a lizard getting it's tail cut away and living on. That's why I'm telling you, be careful..."
"World's Weakest Hunter."
"Damn it! Those sons of bitches tried to kill us!" Jin yelled out as Zen thought about what he should say.
"It wouldn't of mattered. We've been caught in the real for a while. The problem is...that thing." Zen pointed towards the spider boss.
Jin stood in front of Zen, trying to take the lead because of his higher rank, "I...I'll figure out s-something..." Jin tried to reassure Zen.
"Multiple eyes, Hideous Mouth, Enormous size, Long legs, and it's strength is on another level." Zen thought unconsciously, but then took back his last comment. "No." Zen thought back to the impossible pressure that the Lord gave him. "That's all idiotic nonsense."
"Jin, stand back. That boss is mine." Zen summoned up his dagger and stood still as it began approaching him at increasing speeds.
"What are you doing?" Jin asked.
"I'm gonna kill it." Zen said confidently.
"Compared to the other bosses I've faced, this is insanely strong. And yet, I don't have any fear." The spider cried out and charged at Zen.
"I'm level 25, and It's a C Rank Boss...It's Doable!" Zen jumped towards the boss and stabbed it very quickly on its back. He jumped back up and landed on the ground with a small grin.
Zen quickly attacked several different times. Jin was basically blue while looking at Zen go toe to toe with the Spider boss.
"That...that's an E Rank Hunter?!" Jin thought as Zen dodged the Spiders legs with a swift bit of grace. He redirected a leg with the flat face of his dagger.
Then he tried to cut a leg open, but the skin was far too thick for him to get into it.
"It doesn't have any blind spots, I need to sink my dagger in deeply in order to get any damage!" Zen sped past the front legs and got closer to the boss.
"What is this guy?!" Jin asked as he swallowed in fear. "His submitted Rank is certainly E Rank...but those aren't the movements of an E Rank!" Jin pointed out as Zen twisted midair to dodge a barrage of attacks from the legs. "Could it be...a false Ranker?!"
"False Rankers are powerful enough to hide their presence, and basically kill for fun!" Jin looked at Zen, who had a wicked smirk, with fear painted all over him.
"How long has it been since I started this boss? 5...10 minutes? I'm starting to run out of stamina. The higher my fatigue is, the less speed and power I'll have, so I need to end this soon! I have to use this daggers ability!" Zen looked at the boss with glowing eyes, not unlike a normal monsters.
"The head is the natural weakness of any living creature, and the eyes are also weak." Zen planned on jumping towards it, but saw a liquid coming out of its mouth.
Zen jumped to his left to dodge the acid coming from the Spiders mouth.
"Acid?! That guy was hiding his trump card!?" Zen bent down and braced himself to run.
"I have to close that distance faster! Much faster!" Zen dug his feet into the ground and Sprint was activated. He ran up and passed the boss's front legs in a single moment.
"He closed that distance in an instant?!" Jin was shocked even further by Zen.
"I want to finish this fast...but I can't get a critical hit!" Zen jumped back and tried to hit in once more, his Fatigue turning from 65 to 70.
He was smacked away and flew into the ground. He had no time for rest, as the Spider tried to drive one of its hand into him.
He barely remembered that he had a Status Recovery, so he accepted it.
He jumped up to the Spiders head and stabbed it's eyes. He stabbed it a few times before the two effects of the dagger sunk in. Zen was able to do much more after that too. He gave one last barrage of attacks and landed on the floor. The bosses head exploded and Zen got the experience.
[You have leveled up 3 times.]
"Thank goodness I had 2 of those stacked up, I have to wait until tomorrow to get another one though." Zen got a few materials from the boss that looked useful and laughed happily as he did.
"There's no way...That man...is certainly a False Ranker!" Jin confirmed with himself as he walked up to Zen with a bag filled with mining gear.
"Sir, would you like for me to mine these crystals while we're in here?" Jin didn't even let Zen have a word before he started mining the crystals.
"Sir? I guess he thinks I'm his savior or something?" Zen thought as he looked at him mine the crystals with a lot of vigor.
Zen drank some water, but then another explosion occurred, and Zen saw the shadows of the group that left him and Jin to die.
"What, those guys still alive?" One of the members asked.
"Is the boss dead?!" One of the members yelled out, shocked.
"What happened?" Another one asked.
"Did they actually kill it by themselves?!"
"Was that spider boss just big and stupid?" Yindo began. "If it was that bastards equipment, he could've taken down that boss." He finished.
"I underestimated you, Jin. Just like my little brother underestimates me..." Donguk thought as he looked at Jin's armor.
"What should we do now, boss?" One of the teammates, named Jerry, asked.
"Win him over, of course." Donguk said as he looked over to Jin with a sadistic smile.
"Jin Yung! You seemed interesting so I did some research on you to find out that you're the son of someone great. Yung Architectures Chairman Yung Han. Your father, right?" Donguk asked.
"S-So what?" Jin held a scowl on his face. "I'll give you one chance..." Donguk started.
"Huh?" Jin was very confused as to what Donguk meant.
"Kill Zen Han." Donguk had the same devilish glare in his eyes as monsters normally did.
"What?!" Jin yelled, more than shocked for Donguk's challenge. Zen however, kept a straight but angry face on.
"Kill Zen Han and join our group, or you'll both due by our hands." Donguk's entire group all had the ominous eyes that monsters had, they all glowed red with their weapons in their hands.
"Why do you hesitate? No one will know what happens in here anyways." Donguk tried to convince Jin.
"S-Sir." Jin turned back to his savior, and held a confused and devastated expression.
"It's alright, It's a given that I'll be betrayed because I'm weak." Zen reassured Jin.
Jin had a dark shadow on his face, stopping all of of his emotions from being clear. Jin spun back around to face Donguk and held his sword and shield up against him.
"What's this? You're siding with him?" Donguk let out a disappointed sigh and knew that it wouldn't be good to kill a rich man's son.
"What should we do now Donguk?" Yindo asked his boss. "We have to kill the weaker one first." Donguk held up his shield and sword, his other members readying their weapons too.
"You two, have you ever killed a human before?" Donguk suggested an ominous goal as Jin readied himself
Zen was struck by a wave of notifications all at once.
[An emergency quest has been issued.]
"What is this?! The system suddenly-!" Zen saw the entire quest before getting blasted into a wall by Yindo.
[Emergency Quest: Kill the enemies]
There are entities nearby that intend to kill The Gamer. Slay them to ensure your safety. If this quest is not completed, your heart will stop.
Enemies Required to kill: 8
Enemies Killed: 0
Zen was launched into a wall in the cave, Jin looked shocked as his Savior was blasted away.
"Jin Yung, don't worry about the dead and come over here." Donguk said cockily as he gestured to his overconfident group. "You...You murderers..." Jin's eyes started to water, but he kept a serious and angry expression.
The looked in Zen's head, it was blurry and unclear, but he knew it already.
"Why did I forget that this place relies on survival more than any other place? Yes..." Zen's eyes lost their glow that they had before and he grasped a rock. "My thinking up until now has been wrong..." His past yelled at him, warning him of just how wrong he was.
"The system is forcing me to stay alive...not for anyone else but myself...this is what it needs, for me to stay alive." Zen sat back up, blood slowly pouring down his face.
[HP: 728/3500]
"I have to use the system, and the system has to use me." Zen stood up and caused a few people to criticize Yindo.
"Has your skill waned? You should be able to kill an E Rank easily." One chastised.
"You should have been serious with that shot." Donguk stood behind Yindo, "Y...Yeah, I guess so." Yindo was positive that he had put everything into the attack.
"You have played with a person's life, so are you ready to take the consequences of your actions?" Zen walked and and approached the lizards. Jin couldn't speak after Zen walked past him.
"What is that bastard saying?" A black haired lizard asked. "If you guys are hunters, you should prepare to become the hunted." Zen said as his gold eyes glowed and his body started radiating this dark energy.
"Sir, I'll take care of him." One of the 8 lizards walked out and put his arm around Zen. "It looks like you don't understand this situation very well." The cocky bastard said as a familiar light came from Zen's hand.
"Hm?" Was all that the man could muster out as Rasaka's dagger helped Zen cut his head clean off. His head fell to the ground and Jin and Donguk were both shocked. Zen held no remorse in his eyes as blood spattered on his face.
"One." Zen said ominously as he walked towards the remaining 7 lizards.
"Tune! When did that bastard get a knife?!"
"No matter how unguarded, Tune was still a D Rank. So how did an E Rank Kill him?!" Donguk was beyond shocked as he teammate finally died on the floor, his head and body detached and bleeding onto the cave floor.
"I just killed a person. A human...If I don't kill, I will be killed. I can't run away anymore!"
Zen remembered who died in the double dungeon. He remembered those who left him to die. However, in the time of his original desperation, he brought his head up for his glowing golden eyes to shine like a monsters.
"I don't know what he did, but keep your guards up." Donguk suggested for his teammates. "Yindo, give him another blow." Yindo nodded and readied himself to fire at Zen.
As the attack fired, Zen dodged to his right and came back to cut off Yindo's hand. "Your magic is annoying," Zen said as he cut up Yindo.
Donguk had no time to give new orders before two people tried to rush in and kill Zen. He quickly stabbed one in the neck and the other in the stomach. They both fell to the ground and Zen just rushed to the next enemy.
"Is he actually an E Rank?! I can't hit him because he's so damn fast!" Another one said, before he got sliced up.
"If you guys are hunters, then try to hunt. That's what Hunters were made for." Zen sliced another three and they were inflicted with paralysis and bleed.
"St...Strong...I think he's stronger than when he fought the boss..." Jin noticed.
He took out every one except for the big boss himself. Donguk readied his axe and shield, confident in his skills.
Donguk tried to rush Zen, but was shocked when Zen was in the air and he grabbed Donguk's face and slammed him.
"Did...did he just slam me into the ground?" Donguk asked himself as he began asking for forgiveness of The Gamer.
"Are you really trying to stop me when you've tried to kill me 3 times?" Zen asked as he intimidatingly walked up to Donguk.
"You think you'll get away with this?!" Donguk asked as Zen decided to use his words against him.
"Didn't you say that...what happens in a dungeon stays in the dungeon?" Zen asked as he used Donguk's words to help haunt him.
"You bastard! Do you even know who my little brother is-" Donguk's head was cut clean off, because Zen didn't care to listen to him any longer.
The cave crumbled a little bit, and Zen looked at Jin, who was vomiting at the end of the room. "Come on, We're gonna be crushed if we stay in here." Jin reluctantly nodded and followed after Zen.

In Washington DC, a tall man moved back and forth in his sleep. He eventually woke up and wiped his eyes. "Did I have a bad dream?" He asked himself as he got up and got ready for the day.
