Draco barrelled toward the team box at top speed, he had to get there before she changed her mind. When he screeched to a halt in front of her, she'd been turned away, looking at their friends. It gave him a moment to simply look at her, marveling in her beauty. He knew that she didn't consider herself beautiful, they'd had enough arguments on that topic over the years.
"Hi." He said quietly. Sure, it was lame, but it was the only thing he could think to say.
"Draco." She murmured. His given name on her tongue did delicious things to his psyche.
"I've missed you. You look good in my jersey." He grinned, and he had. He had missed her so desperately over the past few days. On more than one occasion Potter had talked him out of barging into her office to tell her again how he felt.
"I like it. I think I'll keep it." Hermione quipped. He had desperately hoped that her presence meant what he had hoped, and this fueled that hope.
"That's my lucky jersey, Granger. If you keep it, that means you have to come to every game. You hate Quidditch." He said, quirking an eyebrow at her.
"I…I think I could do that." She smiled shyly at him.
"And the team tradition?" he asked hesitantly, inching closer and closer to her.
"Isn't that why you flew all the way over here?" she asked breathlessly. They were nearly nose to nose as she conjured a stool to meet him.
"Fourteen years, Granger. Fourteen years I have wanted this. Fourteen years I have waited." Draco murmured.
"Malfoy." She growled. "Shut up and kiss me."
"You don't have to tell me twice." He grinned and then ever so slowly his lips slid across hers. He lifted her, hoping that she wouldn't realize, and scooped her onto his broom. He pushed off slightly, but just drifted as he reveled in the feel of her mouth on his and the soft texture of her curls around his fingers. She hid her face in his robes when the crowd cheered for them. "I love you. I just want you to know that." He said, kissing the top of her head.
"Good." She smiled up at him, "because I think I love you too."
"Really?" he asked, a grin spreading across his face. If she hadn't been on the broom, he would have done a backflip in his happiness at those few words.
"Really. And if I've been informed correctly, I believe I owe you two more kisses, Mr. Malfoy." She whispered as she kissed him again. He could definitely get used to her kissing him.
"Oi! Malfoy!" Blaise hollered, "As much as we're all enjoying the show, put your witch down so we can finish this match, then you can snog her to your heart's content." He really wanted to tell his best friend to fuck right off, but when Hermione had looked toward Blaise, she had realized that she was on his broom. She shrieked in his ear and clung to him.
"Put me down! Put me down now! You know I hate flying." She squealed. Reluctantly, Draco drifted back toward the team box and lowered her to the ground once again.
"You didn't even notice until Blaise opened his big mouth." He smirked, leaning toward her once again. "You know I'd never let you fall."
"I already have." She murmured as she pulled him down for another kiss. "That's three. Now, go win." She smirked, pushing him away from her once again. Elated at her declarations, he raced back toward his teammates.
"Save that for the bedroom, mate. We've got a match to win." Blaise teased as he flew toward him.
"You're lucky I don't murder you in your sleep." Draco rumbled.
"Oh but just think of how upset Theo would be." Blaise grinned wickedly. "I'm sure he'll tell your witch all about the fun things that could be done on a broom."
"Quaffle!" Angelina said sailing by them, tossing the ball into Draco's outstretched hands. He and Blaise took off for the hoops together, leisurely tossing the quaffle between them.
"Multiple scores?" Blaise asked as they neared the hoops. Draco nodded. Blaise flew the quaffle directly through the hoop on the lower right and then launched it back to Draco who batted it through again, straight into Blaise's waiting hands. They repeated this twice before the other team's keeper interfered.
"Let's go." Draco grinned. "My witch awaits." They sped toward the team box, spiraling around each other before they pulled up in front of their waiting lovers.
"Show-off." she teased as he pulled up in front of her.
"Blaise is the show-off love." Draco laughed loudly. Blaise and Theo had always been open about their relationship, caring little for the opinions of others. They had no problem making the people around them uncomfortable with their affection for each other. He only hoped that he and Hermione could one day be the same.
"Yes, well. Kiss me and go. Your team is waiting for you." Hermione said breathlessly. He grinned at her and dropped down to dangle from his broom above her and claimed a kiss before flying off once again.
