Judith POV
"Jay, Jude, Ben, offense. Chad, Ian, you're defense. Taylor, you're the shooter." Coach told us as Ben patted us on the back, reassuring us about this.
"Right, coach!" Another guy replied as he ran somewhere on the field.
"Hey. Hey! Hey, you. Lost boy! Put your helmet on. Get out of the kill zone! Come on." Coach yelled at Carlos who just looked so confused.
"Kill zone? Wha..." Carlos asked.
"Pick it up. Put it on! Two hands." Coach blew the whistle and we started playing. Jay almost immediately started being really aggressive. I honestly was too, but not as much as he was. We were both knocking others out of the way, but he was knocking over literally everyone while I just went after the ones playing for the yellow team.
"Jay, It's me! It's Carlos! Wait, stop, Jay. Stop! No, no, no, no. No!" Carlos screamed, thinking Jay was going to just pummel him. He dropped to the ground, me using his shield as a boost as I passed the ball to Jay. Jay charged at the goalie, which freaked him out, causing him to just roll out of the way. He ran into the goal and then threw off his helmet and started dancing around like an idiot.
"How am I friends with you?" I asked myself out loud.
"What just happened? Who are these guys?" I heard other people ask. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. It was mentioned to Coach that I was a girl, but the others didn't know. This'll be fun.
"You two! Get over here!" Coach called out to us. I took off my helmet, letting my braided hair fall onto my shoulder, getting shocked reactions from the guys.
"Whoa!" "Did not see that coming." "She's good." Were some of what I heard.
"Are you guys crazy?! What happened to the rule book? Girls aren't allowed to play tourney." Chad Charming, Cinderella's son, exclaimed, trying to get the others on his side.
"And yet, here I am." I said, smirking as I walked over to Coach.
"What do you both call that? I call that raw talent. Come find me later. I'll show you something you two haven't seen before. It's called a rule book. Welcome to the team, kids." Coach told us before turning to Carlos. "You ever thought about band?" That made Jay and I chuckle as Carlos joined in sarcastically.
"I'll work with him, coach." Ben says.
"All right. Let's run that again." Coach says before the others run back to the field. We both look at Chad with a glare before "accidentally" bumping his shoulder as we walked away from him, smiling.
"Ow." I heard him say.
"Wimp." I muttered, but Jay heard me and put his arm around my shoulder as we both laughed.
