Well, here we are at the Epilogue. Enjoy.

Epilogue

Location: Upstate New York

Time: Six weeks after the final battle with Thanos

The cleaning crew trudged through the work, picking up after the final battle with that mad god no one really wanted to think about. None there thought of the crazy blue (or was it purple) alien let alone say the name of just in case he could be brought back to life. The cleanup of the area didn't start until after any and all weapons were removed by the military. That in itself took about two and a half to three weeks. The regular cleanup was going much slower—and unfortunately—looked to be taking much longer than any of them there had bargained on when they signed up for the work.

About the only person there that seemed happy to be there working was a young woman with crazy curly hair and a British accent.

She went about cleaning, taking her time, and laughing here and there at what she found. After a time, someone asked her what was so funny.

"This is the fifteenth of this same note that I found," she said, showing it to the young man next to her.

He looked it over. "I've found that note too." He pulled a few out of his pocket. "Same note and everything. About the only thing I want to know now is who the hell this Adam guy is."

"You and me both…"

Just then a golden streak crossed the sky. And soon thereafter an impact that had many there running away not caring if this job ever got done or the money they would get for doing it. The Brit, unlike many of those there, went in the opposite direction of the others. Soon she was looking into the impact crater where a golden man was getting to his feet. Soon enough he was running towards where he thought he should be going. But he stopped and looked around, appearing more confused than even those around him.

"Where's the war?!" he demanded.

"War?" the girl asked him. "That ended six weeks ago, sir."

"What?" He turned, glaring at her.

"The battle with Thanos. It was about six to now seven weeks ago." Frowning, she asked, "You wouldn't happen to be Adam Warlock would you, sir?"

Glaring at her, he muttered, "Yes."

"Oh. There's a note here for you." She pulled out one of the several she had. "Here. They're just littered everywhere around here." Looking around, she said, "I best be off before my ride leaves without me. Have a nice day, sir."

He looked down at the note and felt fury building within at the words.

You really should have used the Einstein-Rosen Bridge system in your travels to arrive to Earth on time for the party. Like it or not, my friend, as perfect as you think yourself to be, you can't move faster than light. Even if you took short cuts, it would take you far longer than you imagined it would. Oh well, maybe next time? Whatever. See ya on the flipside. Star Lord.

Hermione heard the scream of indignation and rage all the way from the highway. Perhaps she went too far with that note, she thought, even as the carpool car she was in merged with traffic. Opening the book she had brought along with her for some fun reading, she smiled to herself and started to skim the opening notes in the text. Yeah, it was good to have some free time now.

"You're a bastard, Quill! I will see you dead!"

"Not my circus, not my monkeys," she told herself in a voice too quiet to be heard by the others there.

Going on with her reading, she absently wondered how Adam even knew Star Lord was Peter Quill. Shutting the book, she vanished from the story to spend some time with Deadpool. Hermione's circus or not, this plot was getting to be too much considering that it was supposed to be over. (The writer puts The End at the bottom of the page. She's finished. And this story, it's done!).

The End!

Wow. Talk about a crazy ride. Thank you for taking the time for reading! Your time is so very important. It means the world to me that you're taking the time to read, review, follow, and/or favorite! With any luck I'll have another story up soon. Take care, be safe, and remember awesomeness starts and ends with you! (Pauses) Okay, not literally. LOL! Have good a one, everyone.
