Chapter 9: Crash Landing to Fairy Town
Later, outside, Daphne and the Grand Witch were tutoring Shaggy, Scooby, Scrappy, and Googie on how to ride a broomstick.
"So, how does this work?", Googie asked.
"Simple. Just hold on tight, lean forward for faster, and lean back to slow down.", Daphne responded.
"And watch out. He's got a wild streak in him. Just loves to take off on you, but don't let him.", the Grand Witch added in warning.
"You got it, Grand Witch.", Scrappy responded.
"Like, got all of that, Scoob?", Shaggy asked.
"No.", Scooby whimpered.
"Don't worry. I got all that.", Googie assured.
"Here. You'll all need this to get inside the castle.", the Owl witch suggested as she handed the four vials to Shaggy, Scooby, Googie, and Scrappy.
"Thanks. But..., what is it?", Googie asked.
"It's magic potion. My own secret recipe made from Fluxweed, Knotgrass, Lacewing Flies, Leeches, Bicorn Horn, Boomslang Skin, and a secret ingredient.", the Owl Witch responded.
"What is the secret ingredient?", Googie asked.
"Well, you'll have to drink it and find out.", the Owl Witch responded before she, the cat witch, and the Grand witch laughed.
"But seriously. You should try it.", the Owl Witch suggested.
"Are you sure?", Googie asked.
"Of course. If you drink it now, the effects of this potion will be gradual.", the Owl Witch responded.
"But if you wait long enough, the effects of the potion will be hastened.", the Grand Witch added.
"Uh, okay.", Googie spoke before opening her vial, magical sparks flying out as the vial was opened.
"Like, are you sure you want to try it, Googie?", Shaggy asked.
"Honestly, no. But I'm doing it anyway.", Googie responded before she covered her nose and was about to drink the vial when Scrappy stopped her.
"Hold it. If you're going to drink it, how about I do it with you?", Scrappy suggested.
"Um..., okay?", Googie puzzled.
"Are you sure about this, Scrappy?", Flim Flam asked.
"Not exactly, but when in the magical realm...", Scrappy began as he opened his vial before he and Googie each drank the vials the whole, emptying the bottles' contents before making a face.
"Ugh!", Googie reacted in disgust.
"Yep. It tasted like a bad snack.", Scrappy commented.
"Oh, goody! That means it's just right.", the Owl Witch grinned just as the Grand Witch went over to Broomy.
"Take them to the old Oak Grove. From there, the fairies will guide you to the Goblin Castle. But beware! It's a hideous place filled with the most horrible monsters imaginable!", the Grand Witch.
"Even so, I'm sure they pale in comparison to Asmodeus and Revolta, let alone the 12 ghosts trapped inside the Chest of Demons.", Vincent responded.
"The Hex Girls and I should be able to tail you on air.", Damien assured.
"And my brothers and I will follow ya all the way, mac.", Freako assured.
"We will?", Meako puzzled.
"Yeah. And me, too.", Phantasma responded.
"What about you, Vincent?", Thorn asked.
"We'll all regroup with you at the Oak Grove village soon enough at my jet. It's just parked at the moment.", Vincent responded.
"Just be careful, okay, Shaggy?", Crystal asked.
"Are you kidding? I try to be careful all the time.", Shaggy assured.
"Yeah. All the time.", Scooby agreed before Broomy started zooming around with Shaggy and Scooby barely hanging on as Daphne, Googie, and Scrappy watched from one top the witch's own broomstick before Shaggy and Scooby were zoomed outside the hut.
"Hang on, guys! We're coming! Oh. And thanks for everything.", Daphne spoke before she, Googie, and Scrappy flew forward.
"Well, what are you waitin' for, people? Let's fly.", Freako spoke before he, Meako, Shreako, Phantasma, Damien (who changed into demon form) and the Hex Girls ascended in the air, following after the others.
"Good luck, Shaggy! Hope to see you at Oak Grove!", Tanis shouted.
"Well, let's be on our way.", Vincent spoke as he turned to the remaining company.
"Good luck to you all. And do write.", the Grand Witch responded.
"We will.", Flim Flam assured.
Meanwhile, Daphne, Googie, Scrappy, Damien, and the Hex Girls caught up to Shaggy and Scooby.
"Hey! You guys doing all right?", Googie asked.
"Like, define 'all right'!", Shaggy responded before he and Scooby suddenly went down and then got back up, even flying above the river.
There, as Scooby and Shaggy ducked underneath the bridge, Googie, Scrappy, Daphne, Damien, Phantasma, the Hex Girls, and the Boo Brothers flew above it and flew next to the nearby house as Shaggy and Scooby went right through it at the top floor, forcing bats out as they went, before going up into the air where it was smooth sailing from there as Shaggy and Scooby grinned.
"So, how are you guys holding up now?", Daphne asked.
"Well, Daph, I think we're getting the hang on this thing!", Shaggy responded as he moved the broomstick from left to right.
"Scooby-Dooby-Doo!", Scooby howled in joy before they and the others went higher.
"Oooh! Flying together like this is so much fun!", Phantasma grinned.
Then, Thorn suddenly got a phone call before noticing that it's from Ben and answering.
"Hi, Ben. What's up?", Thorn asked.
"There's something crucially important you need to know.", Ben responded.
"And what's that?", Thorn asked.
"It's your friends. We have reason to believe that Asmodeus and Revolta will be coming after Shaggy and Scooby. That is, as soon as they release the 12 ghosts trapped inside the chest of demons.", Ben responded.
"How do you know about that?", Thorn asked.
"We overheard them talking to the Goblin King about a deal at the carnival, and Krudsky was with them. It involves a trade with Fairy Princess Willow for the Goblin Scepter.", Ben responded.
"So, that's how they plan on getting that scepter.", Thorn spoke to herself.
"You mean you already know?", Ben asked.
"Well, yes, and no. What are you guys doing on your end?", Thorn asked.
"We're setting up a trap for Asmodeus and Revolta at the clock tower.", Ben responded.
"Got it. Thanks, Ben. We'll make sure Scooby and Shaggy are safe.", Thorn assured before hanging up.
Meanwhile, however, Glob laughed as he was looking through his binoculars to see his targets in the air on sight.
"Hey, look! Let's shoot 'em down!", Glob urged with a smirk.
"Bring out the Goblin blaster!", Glum shouted to the other goblin soldiers before they moved the top of the sarcophagus out of the way before a mechanical blaster erupted from inside wind was aimed for Scooby, Shaggy, Googie, Scrappy, Daphne, Damien (in his demon form), Phantasma, and the Boo Brothers.
Then, the tombstones makes eyes glowed white light like searchlights as a horn blared, inadvertently attracting Thorn's attention as she hissed.
"What is it, Thorn?", Luna asked.
"I think we have some unwanted company.", Thorn responded, pointing to the Shadow goblins below.
"Oh, boy. Not those two again.", Damien sighed as the searchlights shone on him and the others.
"Get 'em, get 'em!", Glum spoke giddily.
Then, the goblin cannon was fired once before the green cannonball hit near the broomstick Shaggy and Scooby were on, setting them slightly off-course.
"Look alive and take cover! We're under attack! I repeat, we are under attack!", Scrappy urged.
Then, thirteen more blasts were fired from the cannon and although most of them missed, only one hit the broomstick, making it burn out.
"Fire!", Scooby exclaimed.
"Oh, no! Hang on, guys!", Googie shouted.
Then, Daphne, Googie, Scrappy, Damien, Phantasma, the Boo Brothers, and the Hex Girls all dashed for Scooby and Shaggy as they fell down screaming.
"Mayday! Mayday! We're going down!", Shaggy shouted before Scooby howled you add to the distress before Daphne and Googie managed to catch Shaggy and Scooby, although the broomstick landed on the ground below.
"Guys! Are you okay?", Googie asked.
"Like, that was a close one.", Shaggy commented.
"Yeah!", Scooby agreed as Damien, Phantasma, the Boo Brothers, and the Hex Girls caught up.
"Guys! You're both okay.", Damien grinned in relief.
"Yeah. They'll be fine. Too bad the same can't be said for Broomy down here.", Scrappy responded.
"Oh, no. Poor Broomy.", Shaggy spoke fondly.
"Broomy!", Scooby howled.
"We've got to patch him up somehow.", Googie responded before Daphne nodded and then went down further along the area before noticing bright lights on the ground with certain trees resembling city buildings.
"That's odd. I never thought we'd find any lights around here.", Googie spoke, not knowing that her skin was already turning green.
"Tell me about it. It's like the forest's big city around here.", Scrappy agreed as the same thing happened to him.
"Like, do you guys need a moment?", Shaggy asked.
"We're good. I'm not sure why you'd ask that, though.", Googie responded.
"No offense, but maybe it's because you and Scrappy are looking green.", Shaggy responded.
"Green? What are you...?", Googie began before she and Scrappy noticed what he meant.
"Wait. We really are green.", Googie realized.
"I guess the potion must be kicking in right now.", Scrappy guessed.
"Wow. A potion that changes your skin color?", a voice spoke up.
"What?", Googie puzzled.
"You big sillies.", another voice added with a laugh.
"Who's there? Come out so I can see you.", Googie spoke as she looked around before noticing a fairy with a no-sleeve jacket in front of her, which took her by slight surprise.
"Whoa! Okay. I wasn't expecting that. Who are you?", Googie asked.
"Name's Sparkplug.", Sparkplug greeted with a chuckle before another fairy appeared on top of Scrappy.
"I'm Honeybee.", Honeybee added as she appeared on top of Scrappy.
"Nice to meet you, Honeybee. I'm Scrappy.", Scrappy greeted before another fairy appeared with green hair and pink clothes as she flew upside down.
"And I'm Tiddlywink. Welcome to the City of the Fairies.", Tiddlywink welcomed before she then flew past several houses, turning the lights on just as Vincent's jet arrived before he, Flim Flam, Dilla, Moon, Jay, Rowena, Willow, and the Ghoul School kids stepped out of the jet.
"Vincent!", Googie spoke excitedly.
"I believe we've kept you waiting long enough.", Vincent responded as he and the others stepped forward before Honeybee noticed what happened to Broomy and gasped.
"Look over here! Your broomstick.", Honeybee spoke in a sad tone.
"What happened?", Flim Flam asked.
"
"Those shadow goblins blasted him with a goblin cannon a moment ago.", Daphne explained sadly.
"In other words, he took the hit for us.", Freako added.
"Oh, no. Poor Broooooooomy.", Moon howled uncontrollably before realizing it as she widened her eyes.
"Did that just come out of me?", Moon puzzled.
"Yeah. It happens sometimes.", Googie assured.
"Regardless, I certainly doubt that the Grand Witch would like this one bit.", Vincent commented.
"Don't worry.", Sparkplug assured before whistling.
"A little fairy magic will have him fixed up in no time.", Sparkplug added before numerous fairies rushed over to Sparkplug's aide.
"Wow. Now, that's miniature repo-men.", Scrappy commented.
"Yeah. Like, those fairies sure are friendly.", Shaggy agreed with a grin.
"Thank you so much. You are going to bring him back once you patched him up, right?", Daphne asked.
"Of course.", Sparkplug assured.
"We fairies use only good magic, balancing out all the bad magic used by shadow goblins.", Tiddlywink stated.
"But tonight, the balance is shifting!", Sparkplug added.
"I fear something terrible is happening!", Honeybee worried.
"And I know why. Asmodeus and Revolta are trying to undo the spell I placed on the Chest of Demons to keep it from being opened in the wrong hands as we speak.", Vincent guessed.
"And that's not all. They made a deal with the Goblin King for a trade. The Goblin scepter for his daughter, Fairy Princess Willow.", Thorn added.
"That's horrible!", Honeybee exclaimed.
"We know. And that's all the more reason we need to get to the Goblin Castle and warn him about Asmodeus and Revolta to make sure they don't release the ghosts trapped inside the Chest of Demons.", Rowena explained.
"We can show you the way, but you'll never get inside.", Honeybee discouraged.
"The castle will be crawling with guards for the Goblins' Rave.", Tiddlywink adder.
"G-G-G-Goblins' Rave?", Shaggy and Scooby asked in unison.
"Yeah. She's right. You'll never get in. It's totally the biggest party of the year.", Sparkplug concurred.
"Well, it's a good thing we have our own disguises in handy, so you can leave that to us.", Googie assured.
"Like, Googie's right. Besides, if there's one thing we know how to do, it's crash a party.", Shaggy agreed.
"Yeah.", Scooby agreed.
"I do happen to have a personal invitation, anyways.", Vincent added.
A/N: Looks like the transformations are finally kicking, but into what, you ask? Well, you'll just have to find out in the next chapter. Trust me, the firms will be less disturbing fo Shaggy and Scooby in the next chapter. :)
