AN: I know it's been a while and I'm sorry for the wait. Life just got in the way and this last season was very discouraging. But here is a recap to the last chapter since it's been sooooooo long since I posted.

Recap:

During the 6th day of the week. Bellamy was given a new nightblood sirum to tableize him and he, Clarek and Madi are now the only nightbloods. While saving Bellamy, Jackson finds out Clarke is with child. Jordan finds out that his parents got Clarke pregnant with Bellamyh's child so that they will always be on the same team when they are gone. Bellamy and CLarke decide to raise this baby together as Monty and Harper intended. And lastly, Echo is brave and selfless and lets Bellamy go so that he can be there fully for Clarke and the baby.

Chapter 8

Later that night during dinner Raven and Jordan were still not speaking to each other but Clarke was sure he would win her over eventually. Herself though, she's not sure Raven would be forgiving her anytime soon.

Raven sat furthest away from her on the table with Shaw next to her. They had come to dinner together and most everyone can tell that they had just spent an intimate moment together.

Bellamy and Clarke let everyone else know about the baby during dinner. For the most part everyone congratulated them. They were all in the mindset that too many deaths have occurred and it was about time they brought life into the universe for once. Though some did seem shocked that this happened in the first place.

"Look," Bellamy started, "neither Clarke, nor I am happy about the way this happened. We were not asked. And yes that does make us feel betrayed to some extent. But both Clarke and I have been in the position where we had to be parents when we were not ready or even planned to be. Where we had to put aside our own planes and ambitions. I had to do that with Octavia and when we both led the 100 many times we heard some of the kids refer to us as mom and dad. And now with Madi." Bellamy said.

Madi lowered her head, having taken his words wrong. Seeing this Bellamy tried to citify "That is not to say we regret being your parents Madi. We love you and you are just as much a miracle to us as this baby is." Bellamy gave her hand a squeeze. "But what I'm saying is that a parent's love is unconditional, and makes parents do crazy things for their kid. I...I see how a child, my own blood, would be great motivation to not try and kill Clarke in the future." Raven laughed at this.

"Look, parents don't always get along, but they do always try to do right by their kid. And at the very least, they tolerate each other for the child's sake. And we believe this is what Monty and Harper were trying to achieve… Clarke and I see this baby as the first step in trying to be better. Where we bring life into the world, not taking it."

No one said anything. And neither Bellamy or Clarke could tell what they were thinking. Did they understand why they were accepting this baby as easily as they were?

Clarke picked up where he left off, "I know some of you, my mother included, think this pregnancy and the way it came about is sacrilege, but I'm choosing to focus on the miracle that it is. After Primfaya, with all the radiation I was exposed to, I thought for sure I would never have kids of my own. But here is this baby." Clarke tenderly touched her belly. "I have not alway been a good person, I have killed and tortured. But we are asked to be the good guys, to be better. And with this innocent baby coming, soon I'll have two kids looking up to me, I want to do better so badly, for them."

"Oh Please." Raven scoffs form down the table. "You're just going to fall back into the same heatless pattern as before. Monty ruined Bellamy and Echo's relationship for nothing."

It hurts that Raven holds so much animosity towards Clarke. Clarke felt she had done worst things to others and they have forgiven her. But Raven can not? What's even worse is she can't defend her action either. Clarke understands Raven has every right to hate her, but just because she understands why, doesn't mean it doesn't hurt.

But Clarke finds an ally in the least likely person there. "Raven stop." Echo gently says. "People can change. I've changed, haven't I?" Raven nodes. "I did horrible things before we had become friends. I stabbed and almost killed Octavia… but you all still forgave me. This group has the greatest capacity for forgiveness and acceptance. And right now, as we embark on a new land we need to hold onto acceptance and forgiveness more than hate and regret. We can't keep holding each other back for past mistakes. That's not who we are. We forgive but don't forget so that we can learn from our past mistakes. So please, don't hold on to anger on my account because I'm not angry."

Raven looks at Echo, betrayed. Everyone could see she was torn, not knowing what to say. Finally, she settles her gaze on Clarke but instead of hate Clarke sees hurt. Raven runs out of the Mess Hall and Shaw follows behind.

Awkwardness settled in the Mess Hall. Gaia tries to defuse the tension that had settled around the room and jokingly says, "you know, since you are both nightbloods there is a good chance this baby could be as well."

When no one says anything, she continues. "It's almost like you have an heir and a spear." Gaia smiled. Clarke just looked at Gaia blankly.

"What I'm trying to say is you guys are basically the ruling family. Both you and Bellamy have led different groups of us for years now and now Madi is technically still Heda. Now if this baby turns out to be a nightblood too then you guys will have the only other viable commanders after Madi. By tradition, you guys are the rightful rulers."

As much as leadership roles have alway somehow fallen onto Clarke, this is not a prospect she would envision for her family, her children. Being the leader leaves you with many burdens. Most of which she would not wish on anyone, let alone her children.

"We just removed the Flame from Madi and now you want me to train my unborn child to be next in line?" Clarke stressed, she almost stood up too but Bellamy's hand kept her rooted.

Gaia was too surprised at her reaction to respond. She didn't think Clarek would be so defensive. Bellamy leans over and whispers in Clarke's ear, "you know that's not what she meant." The look Clarke gives him is fearful. "Come one, let go do something fun." Bellamy says a quick goodnight to everyone still at dinner and pulls Clarke out with him before she said something she would regret.

"Where are we going?" Clarke asks. She's mildly annoyed but also giddy as he takes her further from that almost fight. But she realizes her giddiness comes from how Bellamy's fingers are threaded through her own. How his warm hand holds hers so securely, and makes heat rise up to the rest of her body.

They arrive at the Anti-Gravity Chamber before he can answer and a smile spreads across Clarke's face. All their experiences here have been calming thus far. Not to mention this room also holds her favorite memory of them together, their first kiss.

Bellamy, still without saying a word, leads her inside and to the middle of the room where he leaves here to turn off the gravity. Bellamy shoots her a mischievous grin and the next thing she knows they are floating.

At first they didn't say anything, just floated around, relaxing. "Thank you," Clarke breaks the silence. "You got me outta there before I could say something I can't take back and for that I'm grateful."

Bellamy smiles but then he becomes serious. "Clarke, truthfully, can you think of anyone you would rather have incharge of the world Madi and our baby is to grow up in?"

Clarke wanted to protest but when he puts it like that, she can't. No one, not even Marcus and Indra, who seem to be the only level headed people form the Bunker, would she trust to lead them and keep her family safe. The prisoners are out of the question and no one from Space Kru would try to usurp Bellamy.

But to be in charge still, to keep carrying this burden and maybe pass it down, Clarke is still not sold on that future either. But she sees it, what he's trying to tell her. "I hate being in charge Bellamy. I hate having to make those decisions and having my friends look at me like I'm a monster." Bellamy reaches out and holds her hands. "But… your right. There is no one I trust to build a new community where our children can be safe."

Bellamy nodes, glad Clarke was able to figure it out on her own what he wanted to say. With Clarke in his arms he whispers in her ear, "carrying the burden of leadership ourselves is the lesser of two evils and that is what we have alway been good at. Together, we can do this." He looks her in the eyes.

"Together." Clarke says. "It's not going to be easy, there are so many people with different views."

"I know. Which is why I've been thinking we need a new government. One that acknowledges the traditions the Grounders have followed for years but that also can accommodate the other 40% of our population. Our people now consist of 60% Grounders, 20% SkyKru and 20% Eligius prisoners. The prisoners know nothing of the culture we have been exposed to on Earth. They wouldn't understand why the Grounders follow the Flame and SkyKru still doesn't approve of traditions like the Conclave. So I have come up with a way we can abolish it all together but still appease the different clans." Bellamy said.

He spent the next hour explaining to Clarke his new plane for governing their people. The more Clarke heard, the more she thought this can actually work. They could make this work. Together.

When Bellmay made it back to his room, he found it empty. Even though Echo and him broke up and he knows it's for the best, a part of him almost expected her to be there, almost hoped. But with a deep breath he vows to move forward. To focus on the future and be better.

AN: Thank you all for sticking with me. I would like to point out that this Fic is called "One Week, Together" for a reason. As such, this next chapter will be the last for this fic.

I plan for this to be a trilogy, so hopefully I can get the third part out soon after.
