Red, Blue & Green Chapter Part 10

Ash, Alice and Red are now walking around the road, and Red bounces into a Tangela and falls down to the ground. "Hey...what the heck..."

Then they notice that a caravan or people are standing there, and Ash says, "What are you guys doing?"

But the people there are rude to them and one of them says, "Hey you, stop right there." "Miss Erika is through here."

Alice says, "Excuse me, the Tangela here crashes to my friend and now you are being so rude with us?"

Before the fight can start, they hear a voice, "Stop it! It was our fault, everyone! Please be so kind as to apologize."

As the other people bow at the person in front of them, which turns around to be Erika, one citizen says, "Bow when you are apologized to by the daughter of the richest man in Celadon City, and also Gym Leader!"

Erika says, "Enough." This causes the rude citizen to shut up. Erika turns to the group of three and she asks, "You weren't hurt, were you? Obviously, my Tangela was being mischievous."

Red says, "It is fine, but is it true that you are a Gym Leader? If that's the case, then we want a battle."

"A battle?" Erika is surprised, and Erika looks at Ash and Alice, "Wait, you must be Ash and Alice, right? I heard a lot about you two."

Ash says, "Well, I am glad to hear that."

Erika says, "If you are here for a Gym Battle, then I don't see a reason not to."

Ash smiles and the same goes to Alice, but Red says, "Hey, what about me? I won two badges by beating the gym leaders of Pewter and Cerulean City. So if I battle you, can I earn another gym badge, right?"

"How dare you challenge miss Erika to a battle? She is very tired from the long journey!" The citizens are about to punch Red again, but the glare from Erika stops them, and Erika says, "It's okay, I accept his challenge. But, I won't fight anybody, unless they have talented abilities. Ash and Alice are known to be strong and powerful, which is why I accept their challenge. But to prove yourself to me, you need to catch a Pokemon of my choosing. If you succeed, I will agree to fight you."

"Alright, which Pokemon is it?" Red asks, and Erika notices the Pokemon in Alice's hands, she says, "How about an Eevee like the one in Alice's hands?"

"That should be easy." Then Red leaves while Ash goes to battle Erika for the Gym Badge.

Inside the gym, Erika sends out her Tangela while Ash uses his own Victreebel. Tangela starts up with Growth to raise attacks, then it uses Vine Whip on Victreebel. Victreebel dodges and used Sunny Day, then uses Solar Beam. Tangela is hit, but it is not very effective. It then uses Leech Seed on Victreebel, starting to drain his energy, Victreebel used Poison Powder on Tangela, causing him to get poisoned, then followed by a super effective Venoshock, which caught Tangela off guard and fainted.

The next Pokemon is a Bellsprout, and Ash switches into Charizard, and with the Type advantage from Flamethrower and Air Slash, Bellsprout manages to faint in the end.

And the final Pokemon is Vileplume, Ash uses Butterfree this time. Butterfree starts with Silver Wind and hurts Vileplume, Vileplume tries to put her to sleep using Sleep Powder, but fails due to Safeguard. Then Vileplume uses Sludge Bomb, Butterfree flies high to dodge it, then it uses Confusion to give Vileplume much damage. Erika is frustrated that she can't use static effects, she tells Vileplume to use Solar Beam, but Butterfree blocks it with Air Slash, then it uses Quiver Dance to make Vileplume confused, then finishes it off with another Silver Wind.

"Well, you really are strong as the others said. Here is your proof, the Rainbow Badge." Ash takes the badge and thanks Erika, and then a person asks Erika, "Lady Erika, what were you thinking? Eevee is the project's main object. If it's revealed by using a boy such as him..."

Just then, Erika tells Vileplume to launch the Petal Dance at the servant, at which the servant cringes, only to find that Erika was not targeting her, but a hidden Drowzee.

"You were being followed, be fore careful." Erika calmly informs her, and Ash says, "Don't tell me it is Team Rocket again..."

"That Eevee must be captured as soon as possible..." Erika mutters, and Alice asks, "Ms. Erika, did you say something?"

"Oh, it's nothing." Erika says. "Since your friend is still looking for Eevee, why don't we stay here and wait for him to come back?"

"Sure." Ash and Alice nod as they wait, after awhile, they hear a yell from the gate, "Where are you?! Come out here and explain this!"

Ash turns to Erika and asks, "Explain what? Lady Erika?"

As they walk towards the battlefield, they see that Red is accompanied by Bill, and they are reading a file, "Eevee is among the breed of very rare Pokemon, and can evolve into either of eight advanced forms. If Eevee can be reconstructed, so..."

"So...what next?" Red asks Bill, and Erika decides to answer for him, "So that it can simultaneously transform into three of the advanced forms, then it could prove to be a powerful weapon to us."

"It's you!" Bill and Red turn around and see Erika along with Ash and Alice. Bill says, "Ash? Alice? You are here as well?"

"It sure has been a while, Bill." Ash says.

Erika claps and says to Red, "Thank you for catching Eevee. You are now qualified. You challenged me to a battle, and now that you've proven your worth, I accept the challenge."

But Red is furious and he yells, "Stop lying! Your mutated Eevee escaped! And you sent me after it! I even have to prove my worth to you? If that's the case, I don't need your badge!"

Erika calmly reveals her three Pokémon: Tangela, Bellsprout, and Vileplume, and she says, "I am ready, do you still want to battle?"

In response, Red sends out Poli, Saur, and Pika, and the Gym Leader chuckles at the even match.

Ash turns to Bill and asks, "What is this all about?"

Bill says, "We found an Eevee, and it is said to use Fire Attacks, so Red tries to face it, but it suddenly becomes a Jolteon and then attack with Thunder Shock, so Red uses Diglett instead, and then it becomes a Vaporeon to use Water Gun...and then he uses Ivysaur...and then it becomes Flareon to use Ember."

"Wait, you mean...it can change into three forms without the Evolution stones, and it can revert back as well?" Alice asks in surprise. "And I thought that my Eevee can't evolve is a weird thing..."

"We also find a gadget in Eevee's ear, we think that it is the cause of its ability to switch between evolutions, that is why we come here." Bill says.

"So you think Erika was the one that did to that Eevee?" Ash asks, "Since I find it hard to believe."

"But we don't know unless we hear answers from the person herself." Bill says.

Erika sends out Tangela first, to which Red responds with Saur. He commands Saur to use Vine Whip and reel Tangela in, but Tangela tosses Saur away with little effort and defeats it. Red switches Saur out for Poli, while Erika sends Bellsprout out. Red confidently thinks that Bellsprout can't handle his Poliwrath, and commands Poli to use Double Slap. However, Bellsprout surprises him by catching Poli's final blow, and delivering a Double Slap back by means of Mimic, fainting Poli.

Red then sends out Pika as Erika sends out Vileplume. Pika dodges Vileplume's Petal Dance attack, but Vileplume switches to Swords Dance and sends its petals flying straight for Pika, wrapping it up firmly and reducing its health to dangerously low levels.

As Red grimaces over Pika, Erika says, "Where is your arrogance before? You fought with courage and honor, once you get stronger, I would enjoy battling you again. And since you got Eevee for me, then there's no special conditions next time."

"Eevee..." Red startles as he remembers about the Eevee.

"Oh, it is a truly sad thing, but the Eevee is nearing it's end. The best thing to do would be to put Eevee to rest." Erika turns to the Pokeball that contains the Eevee. And this causes them to get shocked.

"Hey! You can't!" Ash says, but Erika just says calmly, "If Eevee's Pokeball is opened, it will take it's final breath."

Alice says, "Wait, Erika, are you saying that you take these Pokemon in for your experiments, and if they fail, you kill them?"

"That's sick! If I don't stop you, you'll just continue to doing it to more Pokemon!" Red yells as the battle continues.

Through the petals binding its body Pika releases an energy clone from Substitute, which Vileplume easily defeats. Erika mocks Red for his futile strategy, but Red grins and points out that while Erika and Vileplume were distracted, Pikachu had already reached the machine holding Eevee, and Pika indicates its determination to keep Erika away from Eevee.

Much to Ash, Alice, Red and Bill's surprise, Erika walks over to Pika and compliments it for using the last of its health to defend another Pokémon, rather than fight.

"What's going on here?" Ash asks in confusion, and Erika takes the Pokeball and says, "The Eevee has been restored to full health. He will be just fine."

"But..." Alice mutters.

"You are an outstanding trainer, Red from Pallet Town. I am sorry for testing you like that. I heard of you from Misty and Brock, but I didn't believe them at first."

Erika looks at the Eevee and says, "As you see, this Eevee was an experiment for a certain syndicate. A few months back, we received these reports that this Eevee had escaped from that syndicate, and thanks to you, Eevee is now in safe hands."

"So it is Team Rocket again..." Ash mutters.

"It seems like you know this group?" Erika asks, and Alice says, "We have encountered them a lot of times. And we heard that some Gym Leaders are actually members of Team Rocket."

Erika sighs and says, "And still, you manage to get their badges?"

"Well, I got one from Lt. Surge." Ash says.

Erika nods and she turns to Red, "To stand a chance of going up against them, we need to know their technology, ways of fighting, and most of all, we need a trainer with strength like you guys."

"Okay, then we will help you." Red says as he accepts the badge from Erika, and then Erika decides to show them the trainers that will help fight against Team Rocket.

A few days later, Ash, Alice and Red leaves with Eevee alongside him, and Bill says, "Red, if you take Eevee with you, it might be dangerous...Why would you think that?Because Team Rocket is also looking for Eevee, and with it being with you, you'll be their target! Even a Gym nearby was attacked by Psychic Pokemon recently. Who do you think could be behind it?" Think about what they can do to you."

Ash says, "Don't worry, it is fine, he is capable of taking care of it."

Alice feels something isn't right as she looks up to the sky, she sees a woman with a Kadabra is watching at them until she vanishes. Ash asks, "What's wrong? Alice?"

"I think I saw the Saffron Gym Leader Sabrina in the sky, and she is also wearing a Rocket uniform..." Alice whispers.

"Are you sure? Then that will mean the rest of the Gym Leaders were Rocket members..." Ash gasps as they continue walking towards Fuchsia City.

Here is a new chapter, and Ash and Red both get the Rainbow Badge. The next chapter will be Ash facing against Koga for the Soul Badge.
