Clover, Andrew, and Olivia (who was still alive) were about to open presents when they heard a knock on the door.

"I'll get it," said their father, Hiram and he went to answer the door, "Good morning, Mr. Basil."

"Good morning, Mr. Flaversham," Basil greeted, "In order for me to make up for all the times I underpaid you, I am giving you a raise!" He winked at the toymaker.

"Finally!" Bridget said, clapping.

"I thought about what you said, Bridget and he deserves better," said Basil and to Hiram, he added, "As for you, Hiram, you could use that money for your family and your toy shop business, so you can get it up and running again. How about that?"

"That sounds wonderful. I accept."

"Then it's settled."

"Alright, children," Hiram said, "You can open your presents now!"

"Yay!" Olivia, Clover, and Andrew shouted eagerly and the trio started to open presents.

"A locket!" cried Clover as she opened the locket, which played music.

Olivia twisted the key of the flower, revealing a mouse ballerina dancing on the floor, musically.

Andrew unwound his musical toy soldier.

"I also brought you a turkey for you and your kin, Hiram," said Basil, handing Hiram the turkey.

"Why, thank you."

"I was wondering if you'd all like to go see Fidget, Eve, and her family," Basil said curiously.

"Yes, we would," said Bridget, accepting the invitation.

At dinnertime, Basil, Dawson, Mrs. Judson, Helen, Stella, and the Flavershams sat at the table with Eve, Flappy, Shade, Luna, and Fidget. Toby was on the floor, so that people could give him food and they allowed him to have it.

"Thank you for the invitation, Fidget," Basil told Fidget.

"No problem," Fidget replied, "It's Christmas."

Olivia, Andrew, Clover, Flappy, Eve, and Fidget brought a plate of some turkey and ham over to Toby and set it on the floor.

"Bon appétit, Toby!" Andrew said.

"Chew, Toby," Clover warned gently as Toby ate.

"Good boy, Toby," said Olivia.

The children washed their hands and returned to the table to eat.

Bridget decided to make a toast for her husband. "To Hiram Flaversham, who got a raise to help our children and to get his toy shop business back on track."

Each raised their glasses and clinked them.

Basil, himself, decided to make an announcement, so he used a fork to tap onto his glass. "If it weren't for the three spirits of Christmas, I would've still been selfish. It's not the holiday, I hate, it's being alone. From now on, I'll keep Christmas in my heart and let Hiram spend time with his family."

Everyone cheered.

"To Olivia, who is in good health, and we hope to keep it that way," Hiram said, making a toast for Olivia and everyone clinked glasses.

"God bless us, everyone," said Olivia.

"Yes, God bless us, everyone," Basil repeated, "Stay healthy, Miss Flaversham." Then he, Andrew, Olivia, and Clover started to sing:

The love we found…

Everyone else joined the choir:

The love we found,

We carry with us,

So we're never quite alone.

The love we found...

The love we found...

The sweetest dream that we have ever known.

The people who were celebrating smiled at each other before going on:

The love we found...

The love we found...

We carry with us

So we're never quite alone.

And so, Olivia was in perfect health, so she could do anything with her family and friends. Thus, Basil celebrated Christmas like he promised.

The End
