Luz woke up and got ready for school without any incident. She still could not look Eda in the eye when she made it downstairs to eat. Her mentor sipping on a cup of apple blood with a twinkle in her eye.

The ride to school was the worst by far. Eda teased her relentlessly. When Luz got off the staff and turned to walk towards the school but stopped when Eda whistled and tossed something to her. The thin objected bounced off her chest and she fumbled to catch it. Finally getting a good grip on the wrapper she flipped it over and wanted to die on the spot.

It was a condom. Eda snorted as she flew off. Luz groaned before she put it in her jacket pocket. Whatever it's not like I'm ever going to use it.

She walked into the school and spotted Willow and Gus. She ran over to them and gave them hugs. Immediately the trio were at ease and making jokes. Luz turned the corner and froze when she seen Amity.

Or rather Amity kissing Boscha. The pink haired witch had the punk pushed up against the lockers, her hands on Amity's cheeks. The punks hands on her shoulders. Luz felt a lump form in her throat almost choking her. Her heart ached as she put her head down and kept walking.

When Amity drove to school today, she did not want anything to do with Boscha. Unfortunately, Boscha wanted everything to do with her. The punk showed up early as she always did. She strode passed blurry eyes students, smirking when they parted like the boiling sea. (Red sea)

She opened her locker and started grabbing the books for her first class.

"Hey babe."

Amity stiffened when she felt arms around themselves around her waist. She whirled around when she felt a mouth nibble on her ear. Her ears twitched and folded down in a challenging way. She growled displaying her sharp fangs. "Boscha."

Boscha bared her own fangs in response, her ears folded back. Her hold tightened as she shoved Amity against the lockers. "You didn't call me back babe."

Amity placed her hands on Boscha's chest and pushed the witch back to put some distance been them. Her ears flicking in annoyance when Boscha didn't let go of her. "You cheated on me. Why would I call you back after what you did?"

Boscha growled lower in chest. "You egged my house and I told you I was sorry."

"Shove it Boscha."

Boscha lunged forward and kissed Amity as a last attempt to make the punk submit to her. The girl glared and struggled to get away. Amity gripped Boscha's shoulders and dug in with her nails trying to push her away. Boscha growled and bit Amity's lip making it bleed. The two were stuck in a power struggle. Amity was to focused on clawing Boscha's shoulders, neck and chest to notice a defeated human walk passed and into the classroom nearby.

Amity grimaced when Boscha tried to force her tongue into her mouth but wasn't successful. She grew frustrated and grabbed the punk's jaw to try and force it open. At one point tongue kissing Boscha would have left Amity weak in the knees. Now it was a sign of dominance.

Amity opened her mouth to allow access. She rolled her eyes when she felt Boscha smirk against her mouth. The punk waited and bit down on Boscha's tongue hard making the witch roar in pain and shove her away. Amity hissed when she banged her head on the metal locker.

"You bitch!" Boscha roared. Her mouth bloody. Anger burned in her grey eyes. The students nearby cowered and lowered their heads in submission.

Amity rubbed her head and recoiled at the coppery taste of blood in her mouth. The punk said nothing but raised her head high and licked her fangs to clean them of any blood. A gesture of defiance.

Boscha's growl was drowned out by the demonic screech of the bell.

Students scurried into classrooms, trying to get away from the murderous aura.

With one final hiss Boscha covered her bloody mouth and walked to class. Amity fussed over her lip as she grabbed her books walked to her first class.

Luz lifted her head from the table when the frightened students scurried into class.

A girl with long hair sat down at the desk infront of the human and whispered to her friend. "Did you hear? Amity challenged Boscha!"

Luz furrowed her brow in confusion. I thought they were making out in the hallway?

Willow mumbled a soft 'uh oh' next to her. "What? What did she mean by 'challenged Boscha'?"

Gus' eyes widened. "Humans don't have a system for social rankings?"

Luz shook her head. Willow sighed and explained. "Witches have a ranking system. Usually places have a head witch in charge. Hexside has Bump but students are left to develop their own rankings. Amity and Boscha were considered the strongest since they had won against all of the witches that challenged them."

Luz nodded in understanding. "Okay so it's like a wolf pack in the human world. They would be considered the Alpha pair then."

Willow ignored Gus mumbling about what a wolf was and pressed on. "When a witch challenges another witch it is usually to try and gain a higher social status or just to prove you're better then someone. Boscha and Amity were a power couple for years now that Amity challenged Boscha, another top witch. There is going to be bloodshed."

Luz nodded her head in understanding. "But wait, what about the grugby match? Boscha was challenged."

Willow shook her head. "You challenged Boscha remember? It didn't count since you're human. Boscha won and was still considered top witch."

"But Amity was on our team?"

"Amity is an exception because they were dating. She didn't outright challenge Boscha."

"I saw them kissing in the hallway this morning."

"Luz, they weren't kissing. Boscha was trying make Amity submit to her."

Luz felt anger burn in her chest. Boscha tried to make Amity submit? "What happens if Boscha loses?"

"Most likely nothing. Her and Amity were the same rank. She would still have power over other witches but still be lower than Amity. Same with Amity, if she loses- and I doubt she will. She'll still have power but be lower than Boscha."

"What if a way low ranked witch challenged a high ranked witch?" Luz questioned genuinely curious. This is like all the ABO fanfics I used to read.

"If a low ranked witch challenges a high ranked witch and wins, the low ranked witch becomes the new head witch. The witch that lost will be given the position under the witch that won."

Luz hummed and blushed. "What if Amity wins and someone dates her. Do they get a status boost?"

"The witch with the higher rank can share with their partner but I don't know if that applies to humans though." The plant witch teased.

Luz made it a point to ignore Willow's gaze as she took out her notebook and hurriedly starting scrawling notes.
