Before we get started, I have a big announcement today. After some thought, I decided to create more Musicals than just the Six Tribes, Hip-Hop, and the Four Subgenres from Trolls World Tour. I'll be doing more Musicals like Disco, Samba, Flamenco, even Christmas Music. I'm also doing OCs of Little Miss Polka, The Mariachi Sisters, and The Barbershop Boys. I'll be getting to the other Musicals later. Hope you love the 1800s because this will be a long chapter.
Chapter 16: The 1800s
When Thomas Jefferson signed the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, the United States bought a huge piece of land from France, doubling its size. Since the Americans or French didn't know much about the new land, Thomas Jefferson chose Meriwether Lewis and William Clark to explore the area. Lewis and Clark assembled a team of 31 men and 1 dog called the Corps of Discovery. Ten men were Normals while the other 21 men were Musicals, 3 Pops, 3 Funks, 3 Classical's, 3 Techno's, 3 Country's, and 3 Rockers. Lewis and Clark thought of recruiting Musicals since they could be helpful with their expedition. In May 1804, they set off near St. Louis, following the Missouri River in 3 boats. During those first 3 days, Clark was busy navigating and making maps of the land, while Lewis was studying rocks, plants, and animals. Over the next 2 years, they encountered 50 Native American nations. They held ceremonial meetings and gave peace medals. However, a group of Native people called the Lakota weren't impressed by their gifts and presentations. In late October, they reached North Dakota where they built a fort to wait out the winter. They then met Toussaint Charbonneau, a French Canadian fur trapper, and his Lemhi Shoshone wife Sacagawea. In 1800, when Sacagawea was 12 years old, she was kidnapped by a group of Hidatsa Indians and was later sold to Charbonneau. Lewis and Clark invited them to join the expedition as translators. In spring, they set out, along with their newborn son, Jean-Baptiste. Even though Sacagawea was only 16, she was a very important member of the Corp. She knew which plants to collect for food and medicine, and she sometimes acted as a guide. She also smoothed things out with Native groups the Corps encountered. In the summer, the Corps arrived at The Great Falls of the Missouri River. They had to go around it, carrying the 3 boats and all their supplies, which took 31 days, in 100-degree heat, massive storms, and hail. Luckily, the Musicals were able to help them, which made the journey easier. After 2 months, they had to face the Rocky Mountains. Sacagawea managed to get them some horses along the way to help them get across. In August, The Corps started to walk over the snow-covered mountains. They were running out of food and were forced to eat candles. The men and horses almost starved to death. The Musicals managed to survive traveling the Rocky Mountains, except with the freezing temperature. After 11 days, they made it to the other side, where they were saved by the Nimiipuu, who helped them recover. Finally, after a year and a half, they made it to the Pacific Ocean. They spent the winter in Oregon and went back home in March 1806. When they crossed the Hidatsa villages, Charbonneau, Sacagawea, and Jean-Baptiste stayed behind. In September, they finally made it back to St. Louis.
After Abraham Lincoln became president, the United States was facing a big problem. The Northern States wanted to prevent slavery, while the Southern States wanted to keep doing slavery. The South wanted to break away and form their own separate country. Lincoln didn't want the United States to split in half, neither did the Descendants of the Six Music Ancestors. That's when the Civil War started. Many people died during the war, except Musicals. But in the end, the South surrendered, all the slaves were free, and the United States became whole again. However, even though the South surrendered, they didn't change their ways. Even though Slavery ended, African Americans weren't treated equally. They weren't allowed to have jobs, vote, and schools wouldn't take African American students. This was also a problem with Musicals who were slaves as well.
During the Industrial Revolution, kids started working in factories and mines. Even Musical kids had to work. People started using trains, built skyscrapers, bridges, elevators, and used coal and electricity for energy. The Technos were impressed with Thomas Edison for creating the lightbulb but were mad when he lied to Nikola Tesla that he promised Nikola Tesla money, but didn't. They were happy for Alexander Graham Bell for creating the first telephone. The Technos were happy for Henry Ford for creating the first automobile. The Technos even helped them since they know a lot about technology.
So what did you think of this chapter? I liked the history of Lewis and Clark. Abraham Lincoln is my favorite US President, and I liked learning about Thomas Edison creating the lightbulb, and Alexander Graham Bell creating the first telephone. In case you were wondering, Nikola Tesla is a relative to the Descendants of Techno. Henry Ford was the founder of Ford Motor Company, which was the first motor company in America. The next chapter will have both World War I and World War II, then I'm off to 1 more chapter of the 1900s. Please Review.
