Moving Forward ch17
Harry walked down Hollywood Boulevard goggling at the wierdness. Wales had had an amazing run so far. He hoped that they could take it all the way. Tomorrow was the final against Canada. Both teams had been considered the underdog at the beginning of the season. Neither team had ever made it past the semi-finals before.
Harry was playing tourist today. The Hollywood death museum had been interesting in a creepy sort of way. Disneyland with Teddy was fun but Harry really hadn't liked the crowds. Right now he was doing the walk of fame, though he only recognized a few names.
Harry had felt bad about how he'd talked to Ginny, yes it was good strategy but it was also kind of cruel. He had sent her a letter of apology and two of the tickets he was given for the final.
Hermione couldn't come, she had started an internship. That on top of Law school kept her very busy. Mitchell was also working. So Harry had sent two tickets and a portkey voucher to Sophie Green and her father. Lavender and Luna were coming. Luna as press and Lavender as his guest.
He had one ticket left that he just gave to a random person the San Diego magical shopping district. The man looked homeless, so Harry had bought him lunch. Gave him a few galleons and the ticket. He wouldn't be at all surprised if he sold it.

The noise on the pitch was overwhelming. One hundred and twenty thousand people cheering and whooping made a deafening cacophony of sound.
The Red Dragon was being waved around on the Welsh side of the stands and the maple leaf on the other. The meeting of the Captains was a show of polite intimidation. Come hell or high water both teams were determined to win.

Petra Sinclair usually a second string bench warmer for the Moose jaw Meteorites had an amazing throwing arm and had scored four times in the first ten minutes of the game.
Wales was using a different strategy for this game. Their beaters were doing their best to take out Canada's first string beaters. Canada's second string beaters were next to useless. They had disabled one with a broken shoulder but the other was still putting pressure on the Welsh chasers.
Graham Gretzky (No relation) Canada's seeker was at least as good a flier as Harry. Despite multiple tries Harry hadn't gotten him to fall for a single ploy.
Harry rose above the play scanning for the snitch. Canada he admitted had a much better chaser line up than Wales. Joshua was being kept very busy. Half an hour in and they were already down seventy points.
Yes! Wales got the second beater. Harry hoped she wasn't too badly hurt but a bludger to the face and a thirty foot fall can't be good for ones health.
With the beaters freed up to attack the chasers Wales began making a comeback. An hour into the game they were tied at two hundred.
Harry had yet to see even a hint of the snitch. The game had been a pretty fair back and forth scoring wise for the last two hours.
Finally Harry spotted the snitch, it was zipping along about ten feet below him heading towards the Canadian goal. It was an easy catch, Gretzky was too far away to even begin towards it when Harry had it in his fist.

If the noise before the game was deafening the noise after was unearthly. Even the disappointed Canadian fans screamed and clapped. It was a well played game and Harry found himself immensely impressed by the Canadian team.

Hold the quidditch world cup was surreal. What quidditch player didn't dream of this moment? Petra Sinclair had won M.V.P and Harry was going to receive best rookie. The whole thing was just surreal.

"We're all going to Roscoe's Chicken with waffles for food before the team goes to celebrate. Why don't you and your team join us." Harry asked Petra while the league officials said a few words.

Meanwhile in the stands.
A man in a very nice muggle suit turned to Andromeda and quietly asked "The boy there, he is a Wolf correct?"
Andy looked at the man who didn't display the usual pity or disgust. "No, but his father was. Why?" She asked with suspicion.
"Sorry, I should have introduced myself. I'm Jeremy Woodward, I'm Alpha of the American Alliance of Packs. I could smell the wolf on your boy. I wanted to ensure we didn't have a unknown rogue biting children."
Andy looked at him with confusion.
"Judging by you accent you're from the UK somewhere. Here in America the wolves police ourselves. Those that intentionally pass on the curse are killed. We would never let a monster like your Fenrir Greyback roar free. So, the full moon is in three days. Does the boy have a safe location for the change?"
"My grandson isn't a werewolf, his father was but Teddy has never changed. He gets a little grumpy around the full moon but that's all."
The surprised look on the man's face spoke volumes. "Really? That is unique. Most children of werewolves turn or have extreme mood swings on the full moon. Would you allow our researchers to examine him? Maybe take a blood sample? We are working on a cure. Your grandson might be the key." The man said with some excitement.
Andy was still suspicious. "I'll need to think about this and discuss it with his godfather. Do you have a way for me to contact you?"
Woodward produced a business card. "Owl post will find me but you're best bet is to call."

Fried chicken and waffles was a strange but oh so tasty combination Harry thought. Who ever thought of putting syrup on chicken was a mad genius. At his table sat Andy, a sleepy Teddy and Petra Sinclair.
"So Petra have you ever thought of playing in the UK?"

Harry had three days left before the start of the new semester. For as much as he loved seeing Teddy and Andy everyday Australia had become his home. He knew he would return to Britain when he finished school but he really loved his little house on the beach.
He was going to spend the last few days of his break fishing. It had really become a big part of his life. It was relaxing and it gave him a choice to socialize or not depending on his mood. As he carried his kayak down the beach many of the locals waved and welcomed him back. The one wizard in the community congratulated him on his world Cup win.

A/N: A guest reviewer said that it was wierd that Harry kept adding girls to the sister catagory. It really isn't. Many abused children long for a family and create their own. It's really common amongst street kids that anyone you feel protective of and hold no sexual interest in becomes your brother or sister. My Harry might be functional but he is fundamentally broken. Hope that clears it up. Thanks for the reviews, follows and favorites.
