Four:

Thomas carries me, on his back, as I fade in and out of consciousness. "Drink this," he says, and passes me a leaf, with water on it. I drink it, and his eyes apologize for me. "So, Tobias..." I forgot I told him my real name, in a moment of fear. "Why were you running?" He asks, and I look down. There are multiple reasons, and I bite my lip. What do I say? "One, because of my evil mother. She told the werewolves that the vampires were planning a war on them, she told the same thing to the Vamps. She also told the humans we exist, and they're mad." I pause and sigh, with Tris on my mind. "Secondly, I'm wanting to see my mate, again. She left before Evelyn, my mom, captured me." Thomas nods along. "I'm a Deorsum Fluens," he says, forlorn. "We can find your girlfriend, I promise."

"Tobias Eaton," I hear a voice boom. I believe it is the Lady Artemis, so I bow. "You are searching for Miss Prior, unless I am mistaken." I nod, truly unable to speak. She gives a smile, and insight on her eyes. She is a wolf tribe, though I can't tell which just by a glance. "The tribe Quileute has taken the Priors in, with additional members. I will have to talk Dionysus to find the Pedreds." I nod, again, and the lady smiles. "May we meet again, Tobias Eaton."

I wake, shivering, and Thomas frowns at me. "How long have you been awake?" I ask him and he shakes his head. He won't answer the question. I drop the subject, and stand. "I know a werewolf tribe, not too far from here," I say, and he nods along. "The tribe Quileute, made famous from that stupid movie, is hosting some of my werewolf friends. We can take it from here." I brush myself off, and lend him a hand. He shakes his head. "If we both go, we'll be putting the tribe in Mortal Danger. Let your Mom, Evelyn, take me." I shake my head, and start to protest, but I can hear shouts. "Nice meeting you, Tobias. May we meet again." I run, towards the tribe while Thomas directs them in the opposite direction. No one chases after me, and I duck my head. Tears slip out my eyes, and I look up at the sky. Beside me, a wolf forms, and I beg it's not one of Evelyn's. "The stars are bright tonight, my lady," I say to her, looking at the sky. She goes into her human form, and she looks no older than 12. "They are, Tobias Eaton." Her voice is clear, and somewhat chirpy. Unlike Tris'. Tris' voice is stubborn, and a high-ish pitch. "Your friend, Thomas, made a bold sacrifice today. He may not be forgotten." I nod, as a tear slips from my eye. I barely knew him, but he was my friend, my ally. He saved my life. "Quileute is not that far from here, a good kilometre (0.6 miles) or two," she says and I look in the direction she is pointing. It is North, since the Northern Cross shines above it. "Thank you, my Lady," I say gratefully, and she nods. She fades away, and I am left running again. I trip over a rock, and fall down a steep cliff.

Tris:

I hear shouting and look by the cliffside, I see a crowd gathering, and I sigh. The tribe appointed me to be a healer alongside my mother, and Chris. I pray to Artemis that is Tobias, but she hasn't been answering any of my prayers. "It's probably just another outcast, or an actual wolf." Christina groans, and I push my way through the crowd. I get punched and shoved a couple of times, and I fall. "Watch yourself, Kid," a werewolf in his mid 30 says. I curse under my breath, and realize I know the wolf. I gasp, and tears spill my eyes as I watch his chest barely fall and rise. I hear a faint whimper, and I wonder who it came from. Me or him? I grab one of his arms, and wrap it around me, taking in his weight, and Christina does the same, with his other side. We drag him to my mother, and she takes off his shirt. I stare at his abs, and his eyes open. Mom commands us to hold his arms and legs down while she searches his body. He shakes violently, and we force him down even harder. "Four!" I shout at him, making sure I don't use his real name. "It's okay, it's me. Tris," I say, and he opens his eyes more. His blue ones focus on my own grey orbs, and he smiles. "Tris," he breathes, and I kiss the top of his forehead. He purrs, and I smile. "Cats purr, Four. Cats." I mimic him, and he lightly chuckles. "I love you," he breathes before falling back asleep. Mom declares him fine, just maybe slightly dehydrated and starved. For now, he rests with me curled up beside his chest.

In the middle of the night, I see a light, and I guess it is another tribe member. Instead, it is a twelve-year-old girl. I stand, hoping to provide help for the young one. "Hey, you okay?" I ask, and put a hand on her shoulder. I'm not that far from her height, which is embarrassing for me. "Thank you for your kindness, Beatrice Prior," I give the girl a befuddled stare. Tobias stirs in his sleep, and his eyes widen. "Tris..." he breathes. "Our Lady," he bows to the girl and I realize that she is the Lady Artemis. I bow, as well. She smiles at us. "No need to bow, Miss Prior, and Mr Eaton." Her voice represents kindness, and I get back up. "I don't mean to be rude, but what are you doing here?" Tobias asks, and she frowns. I can tell something is off. "The wolves are in great danger, Mr Eaton," he nods, understanding, and I give him a befuddled look. "The Vampires are planning to attack. Very soon."
