Night had fallen on the Boiling Isles, and over at Blight Manor, Edric and Emira were in their bedroom thinking about how Luz had gone to rescue their sister.
"Do you think Luz and her friends managed to save Amity", Edric asked.
"Let's hope so", Emira said, "because if they didn't, we've now got a stone statue for a sister."
Their conversation was interrupted by the sound of someone entering the house.
"That must be Mom and Dad", Emira said, "let's go."
Edric and Emira hurried downstairs and greeted Odalia and Alador, both of them having looks of displeasure on their faces.
"Mom, Dad", Emira said, "back from work, we see."
"Did you have a nice day", Edric asked.
"Hardly", Odalia said.
"What happened", Emira asked.
"The human came back to rescue Amity", Odalia said.
"And she succeeded", Alador said.
Edric and Emira were happy to hear this.
"But it wouldn't have made any difference whether or not she got petrified", Odalia said, "Amity shall never be welcome in the house of Blight ever again."
"Indeed", Alador said, "that miserable little disappointment never was fit to be a Blight."
The Blight parents began walking away, but Odalia gave Edric and Emira a deathly stare.
"And if we ever catch you interacting with her", Odalia said, "you will both know our wrath."
Odalia walked away, and Edric and Emira hurried to their room.
"I can't believe Luz did it", Emira said, "she saved our sister."
"She sure did", Edric said.
The two siblings looked into the night sky from out their window.
"I hope that wherever Amity is, she's happy and safe", Emira said.
At the Owl House, Luz, Eda, King, and Lilith managed to return, and Amity was with them.
"Here we are", Eda said, "home sweet home."
"Oh yeah", King said, "after almost dying while trying to rescue our friend, it feels great to return home for a good night's sleep."
"I can't thank you guys enough for doing that", Amity said.
"No need to make a fuss", Luz said, "I was just saving the love of my life I didn't even know I wanted to be with so bad."
This comment made Amity blush.
"You mean it", Amity asked.
"Of course, Amity", Luz said.
Luz took Amity's hands.
"Amity, as I got to know you, I started to develop feelings for you, and they grew especially stronger after our Grom dance", Luz said, "but I never believed that someone as awesome as you would actually like a dork like me, and I was so caught up in this belief that I totally missed the signs that you liked me too."
"Luz, that's ridiculous", Amity said, "sure, you might not be perfect, but you're kind, selfless, caring, and you never gave up on trying to be my friend, even if I was a bit of a jerk before."
"Y-you really mean all that", Luz asked.
"Yes", Amity said, "I wanted to tell you this after asking you to Grom, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it."
Amity's words made Luz realize something.
"Your worst fear was getting rejected by me", Luz said.
"That's right", Amity said, "I wanted to tell you how I really felt afterwards, but I just couldn't find the right way to do it, and whenever I saw you, I became a hot mess, and..."
Luz put her finger over Amity's mouth.
"Amity, I could never reject someone like you", Luz said, "if I did, it would be the biggest mistake I've ever made."
"It would", Amity said.
"Yes", Luz said, "because I'd never find a girl like you in the human world."
"Oh, Luz", Amity said.
Luz and Amity looked into each other's eyes, and after a moment of silence, they kissed each other on the lips, a sight that Lilith thought was sweet, and, although they tried to hide it, as did Eda and King.
"So, now what", Luz asked.
"I'm not sure", Amity said, "considering what all's happened, there's no way I can live with my family now."
"Maybe you could live with us here at the Owl House", Luz said.
"Really", Amity asked.
"Of course", Luz said, "what do you say, Eda?"
Eda had a doubtful look on her face.
"I dunno", Eda said, "we've already got enough people living here with you and Lilith crashing with us."
"Aw, come on, Eda", Luz said, "she has nowhere else to go."
Eda looked at Amity, who looked rather upset, and then at Luz, who had a pleading look on her face, and at last, she came to a decision.
"Alright", Eda said, "I guess there's room for one more here in the Owl House."
Luz and Amity were both overjoyed to hear this, and the latter went up to Eda and hugged her.
"Thank you", Amity said, "you have no idea how grateful I am for this."
Eda was uncomfortable at first, but she soon wrapped her arms around Amity to return the hug.
"It's the least I could do after you saved Luz", Eda said.
"Well, I don't know about you guys, but all that risking our necks made me hungry", King said.
"Me too", Lilith said, "why don't we go inside and eat some dinner?"
"Nice thinking, Lily", Eda said, "let's eat!"
The residents of the Owl House went inside the house to get something to eat, accompanied by the newest resident: Amity Blight.
"I've got a new home, a new family, and the girl of my dreams", Amity thought, "who could ask for more than that?"
At the Emperor's Castle, Emperor Belos was in a room with Kikimora and his spy.
"It seems that getting a hold of Luz is going to be harder than I had originally anticipated", Belos said, "once again, I underestimated her."
"What are we going to do about this, my liege", Kikimora asked.
"We've made some progress on the portal, but without Luz, my plans for the Day of Unity will never come to be", Belos said, "we must keep a closer eye on her and her allies."
The spy nodded and left, and Belos walked over to an item in another part of the room.
"Just you wait, Luz", Belos said, "once I have you in my hands again, you will soon learn what your destiny on the Boiling Isles is."
The item Belos was looking at was a white dress with a gold trim on the wrists, waist, and hem that just so happened to be in Luz's size.
The End?
AN: Well, that was fun. After much trouble, I have finally finished my very first chapter story for the Owl House. And I cannot thank you all enough for your support. Since you all seemed to enjoy it so much, I think I may write some more stories like this one for the Owl House at some point in the future. However, I can't say for sure when to expect the next one, because stories such as this one take time, as I need to think of a good idea for the plot and then map it all out so that the process of writing it can go smoothly. But until then, please enjoy the stories I plan on writing for other categories for the time being. And one more thing: have a very merry Christmas.
