Gaara felt uneasy. Ever since he heard the news of Kira going off to Orochimaru's he was wrecked with worry. His siblings could clearly tell something was wrong. When he wasn't working he was usually off looking over the reports from his scouts to see if they had caught wind.

When Naruto had called him he sounded so heart broken. So defeated. Gaara knew he shouldn't worry but he couldn't stop himself. His girlfriend, a woman so strong, so stubborn minded, so loving to those around her. She was his everything and he was forced to sit back and let her give up everything for Sasuke Uchiha?!

It was completely idioic of her to give herself up for that bastard. To give up her life, her loved ones, her everything for Sasuke Uchiha? Ha! Gaara was no fool, after hearing some stories and having his own past history with the boy he could clearly see that Sasuke Uchiha was in love with the girl.

If he didn't know any better he would think Kira was a fool. An incompetent fool who must have lost her mind to do such a foolish thing. But Kira was no fool. She had her ways, she was smart, she did what she must to finish the mission. He trusts Kira to be smart, to show Sasuke how idiotic he was to leave. To return back to Konoha to Naruto.

Though even though he knew Kira was smart and trustworthy, someone who would never willingly break his trust. He didn't trust Sasuke. He didn't know what the man would do to his precious Kira. He wished he could be with her, by her side to stop him from committing those heinous acts. He just hoped she was okay.

Letting out a sigh Gaara sat at his desk looking over some paperwork that needed to be filled out when his line rang. He contemplated answering the call before just finally giving in. "This is Gaara." he called using his adult voice.

"Hey Gaara, it's Kira."

His whole world seemed to crash into him hearing her sweet voice. "Are you okay? Where are you?" He hated showing his worry and not sounding calm and collected. "I'm a few cities away from the hideout but I'm okay."

He could hear it in her voice, she wasn't okay. She sounded so sad, he wanted more than anything to be there and comfort her. "What's going on baby?" he heard her sniff and could only imagine her clutching onto the phone.

"I can't go into all the details now, but I need to see you." He stood from his desk moving towards the window. "Come to my office, or I'll come to you." he waited for anything to know she was okay. "Has he done anything to you? Has he hurt you?"

"No...No Sasuke hasn't hurt me." She wasn't hurt but that didn't answer his question. "Has he...touched you?" It felt like red hot needles were ripping through his skin asking this. "Gaara I-I need to go soon…" That bastard! He had no right to touch her. "I'll kill him."

"Baby I'm fine. Really. Tell me about work, tell me about home." she needed a distraction she was practically begging him to distract her. "Suna's hot like normal. The people have been working together to...Kira!" He barked into the phone hearing her yell for the phone back. Only for it to be abruptly hung up. The dial tone was all he heard.

Damn that Uchiha bastard.

Sasuke glared down at Kira as she glared back up at him. "I was on the phone! You can't just hang up on people like that."

"You spoke to him. Now we're leaving." he took her by the hand and walked off ignoring her struggles. "I wasn't done talking to him! We didn't even set up a day to meet!"

"Hn." Sasuke dragged her through town till he pulled them to a stop outside a prosthetic shop. She stared at him for a minute, still glaring at him for interrupting her conversation. "You want a new arm or not." he snapped.

"Let go of me."

Sasuke threw her arm back to her side before walking into the shop. Grumbling to herself Kira followed behind. She was glad she was able to get a new arm but upset because she wanted to keep talking to Gaara, she missed him.

Sasuke was talking with the shopkeeper while Kira looked around the room. It was filled with different types of materials all looking like they were for quests of some sort. One in particular was interesting. There were two sets of the same design, one as a normal black arm. Sleek, nothing too bulky, then the one next to it was a sword or a staff extending three feet aside.

"That one?" Sasuke called looking over the material before nodding. "Get her fitted." Next to her she saw the shopkeeper nod his head slowly before measuring my arm and strapping in the material. It took a good hour before I was complete. I think the guy just wanted us to get out of his store. "Thank you." the shop owner nodded and rushed us out.

"We still have some time before we need to go...would you like another book?" Sasuke asked, walking at a slower pace for once. "Sure?" We walked around aimlessly to find a bookstore, there was always one in these little markets. Kira had paused a few times to look over the weaponry watching with mild fascination as the material glittered in the sun.

"Would you like some?"

She shrugged her shoulders running her fingers over the sharp edges of the kunai "Probably won't be able to, Orochimaru took away most of my weapons as it was." Sasuke took the kunai from Kira and walked inside the shop. "Find something else."

Kira blinked confused. Was he...was he trying to make this a date? "Sasuke." he glanced back and smirked at her confused expression. "Coming?" smirking to himself he walked over to a variety of different weapons. He wondered what she might like. Picking up a small Tanto, Sasuke looked over the sharpness of the blade, the effectiveness it could use in a close range fight.

Thinking back to her fight a few days prior Sasuke nodded. It would do well for her to have one on her person. Looking back at his love, Sasuke noticed her looking over a Jitte cocking her head to the side most likely thinking over attack and defensive maneuvers with said weapon. He just couldn't see her using such a weapon.

Sasuke shook his head gathering a few weapons he knew she worked well with in the past and a new weapons pouch. "Here." She stared surprised at the bag extended to her. "Stop buying me things…" leaning close, Sasuke wrapped an arm around Kira's waste placing a soft kiss on her cheek. It barely looked like he was trying to kiss her, he had just leaned down and to normal bypassers it seemed he was whispering something in her ear.

"Let me spoil you."

"I don't like being spoiled." smirking again Sasuke pressed the bag in her arms "Which is why I must." she shook her head looking up at Sasuke. "Sakura is much better at being spoiled Sasuke...I'm sure when we get home she'd…"

"I'm not interested in Sakura. How many times must I tell you?" he watched her shake her head taking the bag from his hands "Do you think I would leave you for her when I return to Konoha?" when she didn't answer, Sasuke placed his hand in her own, stopping her from walking. "I will never leave you again." he promised, staring deep into her crimson eyes.

Leaning forward Sasuke placed his lips on her own, not bothering if anyone saw. He had to prove to his love that he wasn't going to leave her ever again. He already made the mistake of leaving her a first time, he thought he'd lost her. He would never leave her again. No one could come between them.

Sasuke didn't feel her reciprocate his kiss but he figured it was because they were out in public, she would if they were alone. He knew her. She was going to give up her pathetic relationship with that sand bastard to be with him. It was obvious.

He should have just brought her with him in the first place, somehow kept her out of that fight with Naruto, their relationship had become strained. He was trying so hard to go slow with her, like she asked but he wouldn't be able to much longer.

Pulling away Sasuke gave her a soft almost invisible smile, his gaze could be considered loving. "Come on...lets get your new book." Sasuke grasped Kira's hand and moved her towards a local book shop. His thumb brushed over his mark intensifying his good mood. At least she always had him with her while they were apart and everyone knew that she belonged to him. His Kira. Sasuke and Kira looked through a small amount of books the clerk had on hand.

There wasn't anything that clicked with him but Sasuke did see Kira snickering to herself over a familiar orange book. "Oh Pervy Sage." she hoped he was okay, she wondered what he and Naruto would be doing right now.

She frowned hoping that Naruto was okay, she missed him like crazy, she only had a few weeks together before the entire leave with Sasuke thing happened. She wanted to call him. She wanted to tell him that she's sorry for leaving him like that. She wanted to make sure that he was okay, and that he knew how much she loved him and wanted to make him happy. She wanted him to stop blaming himself over Sasuke leaving.

"Didn't Kakashi read that all the time?" watched face, her eyes softened, and she took on this sad expression, her left hand reaching towards her chest most likely thinking about Kakashi. "Yeah...It's his favorite series."

"Do you want it?"

He watched her scoff rolling her eyes and let out a puff of air between her lips. "I've read it. It's not even that good, Jiraiya sensei just wrote what he wanted to happen with a girl or what might have happened to him. Don't really want to know."

Placing the book back in its original place Kira walked towards another selection of books looking over the titles, pulling out ones that looked interesting, only to put them back. A book on mythical creatures living in the modern day world. A fantasy, something Kira didn't mind reading. The runes were what drew her in.

Reading over the summary Kira nodded knowing she'd like this book. Or book series from the looks of it. Glancing over at her companion she noticed he was reading his own book. It wasn't something she was used to seeing. Sure, when they were younger he had borrowed a few of her books and they'd just read together but she hasn't seen him read once during her entire time she's been with him.

She walked over towards the front and searched her pockets for what little money she had on her. The book was snatched out of her hands and given over towards the clerk. "Hey!"

"You aren't paying." the older woman giggled at the two of them. "Let your boyfriend buy you the book sweetie." She sent a look towards the woman before glaring back at Sasuke. "You can't keep snatching things out of my hands."

Sasuke let out his trademark 'hn' and paid for the book along with his own. "I see this young man come in almost every week to buy books." she confesses. Kira watched Sasuke keep his bored look over his face. "You come here every week?"

He shrugged "So?" he grabbed her bags from her hands and took the bag of books. "See you next week dear!" the middle aged woman called giggling at the two of them. Sasuke intertwined their fingers together and pulled the confused girl after him.

"Why'd you get a book?"

"So I can read." it was obvious wasn't it? Sasuke had thought back to one of his favorite times with Kira, back when they would sit beside one another and just read for hours. No Naruto, no Sakura, no one to bother them as they read their books.

"You haven't read since I joined…" he shrugged, squeezing her hand a little tighter. "I've been busy...Someone had to come up with the escape plan." Blinking surprised, she looked up at him. His face was so neutral, his black charcoal orbs were impassive like he was bored. "And when is that?"

"Tomorrow." Tomorrow?! He's actually leaving Orochimaru? Was this actually happening? His voice lowered "He has grown weaker. He had nothing else to teach me. He is useless to me." So thats it? Sasuke was just going to leave Orochimaru like that. Because he has nothing left to give Sasuke?

Kira was skeptical, after all why would he leave now? Wasn't there something else he needed to do? "Why not now? Why must we return at all?" his smirk grew at her words. "I have a plan. Give me until tomorrow and we'll leave him forever." Nodding her head they walked in silence, both teens enjoying the silence and warm air around them.

When they returned to base Sasuke walked Kira to her room placing her bags on the bed. "I'll be back soon." he whispered, grasping her face in his hands studying her features in case something went wrong. "Wait for me." Leaning down he placed a kiss on her lips. Her fingers started to curl into his shirt, trying to pull him closer. Sasuke could have taken her then and there.

Pulling back Sasuke gave her the faintest of smiles. "I won't be long." he watched her nod her head before walking off into the halls.

Tomorrow they would leave. Sasuke would make sure of it. He wouldn't upset his love any longer being here. They'd grow their own life and spend the rest of eternity together. How they were supposed to be. How they were meant to be.
