He closed the door as soundlessly as possible and went back to the others, still smiling when he reached them.
"What is it Cap?" Chimney asked, the tension hadn't completely left him; He still had Athena on the line demanding to know what was going on, telling them she would be there in only a few minutes, not being very far away.
"I guess Eddie missed a spot" Bobby told, not at all answering the question in Chimneys' opinion, but Maddie caught on.
"He's safe?" she asked, not wanting to get her hopes up to soon.
"Sleeping gracefully as a child" Bobby smiled. Chimney was already informing Athena and Bobby found his phone and sent a text to Hen: "Cancel the search, Buck is at Eddies'', then he sent one to Eddie: "Hey Diaz, thought you checked everywhere. You can cancel your search now, went to check on a noice, found Buck asleep in Chris bed hugging a teddy. Athena, Hen, Chimney and Maddie are informed".
Karen, Denny and Chris had gone to a playground after they finished their ice cream; Hen had been about to go with them when she received the text from cap, and Karen had insisted she go talk to the 118 gang while she would take the kids to the park so to not disturb or wake up Buck. Denny and Chris had laughed when they had been asked why they hadn't told that Buck was in Chris room, and insisted that they had told them, when asking if they should wake Buck; Chris even said that he had told his dad to let Buck keep the teddy because it look like it helped him sleep without bad dreams, which Hen couldn't argue since the boy had said while she was carrying him out, they just hadn't listened to what the kids where actually saying.
"I'm so sorry cap" Eddie said when he burst through the front door. They had all been gathered in the living room, only waiting for Eddie to return home, so as soon as he entered 5 heads turned to look at him. Eddie slowed down his speed and lowered his voice, but it was too late…
"CHRIS?" they heard Buck yell, all immediately alert and running to Chris room; "CHRIS, JUST HANG ON, I'M COMING", Eddie stopped, they all stopped.
"He's dreaming about the tsunami" Eddie stated in horror. "I knew he felt bad about it, but neither he nor Chris ever talks about what happened. Do you think this is why he went to Chris' room last night?" he asked, looking at Maddie with wide eyes. Maddie's eyes in return was teary, trying to hold back the sobs that wanted to escape when she once again heard her brothers scream:
"CHRIS, NOOO". Eddie didn't wait any longer, bursting through yet another door and running to Buck, shaking the man and getting him to a sitting position, embracing his still sleeping person, trying to sooth Buck like he normally would with Chris. Even though he was still asleep they all heard Buck's fragile voice: "He's gone Eddie. I lost Chris" and their hearts broke.
"It's okay. He is safe. Chris is safe. You saved him, that's how he remembers it. Don't worry about it Buck, Chris is safe" Eddie answered him in a rant, and they all noticed how Buck became calmer and fell back into a nice rest, so the rest of them left Eddie and Buck alone and went back to the living room.
