Spider-Man/Doctor Strange The Midnight Sons Chapter 8
The Waverider
Spider-Man looks out the window from the main cockpit as he stares at the destruction of New York pondering how he can save the city, let alone save MJ and his Aunt May. Doctor Strange walks up to the concerned hero as the others were taking a breather.
"Parker?" asked Strange as Peter turned to see the Sorcerer Supreme.
"How are we gonna save the day this time Doc?" Peter asks as he turns back to see more of the demon and monster army running rampant.
"We're working on that. In fact that's why I'm here. We need you. You're one of the few of us here who knows this city well." explained Strange.
"Yeah. Yeah I'll catch up in a minute" said Peter.
"You okay ?" asked Strange.
"It's just... ever since The Crisis, ever since becoming a Paragon, the world is filling up with new and more dangerous threats by the day and frankly half the time I wonder how I can keep the ones I love protected." said Peter.
"Well from what I understand, you managed to take down Dracula. Which is no easy feat" said Strange.
"Nah. That was all Kate. She was the one that dealt the final blow. All I did was help" Peter explained.
"Still you and miss Kane rose up to the challenge and together you saved this city. Not many people can say they fought Dracula, won and live to tell about it. My point is, this new world. This new universe we helped forge thanks to Oliver Queen, for better or worse will always come new challenges, new threats, new allies. It's up to all of us to protect it and the people around us. No matter the cost. As much as the fear of one day meeting out match can constantly loom over us, it's that said fear that can help us mold into the heroes we need to be. What was it that your Uncle Ben said to you?" said Strange.
"With great power comes great responsibility" Peter replied.
"There ya go. Now. The others are waiting for us." said Strange.
The two regrouped with the others as it was time for a battle plan.
"What do you got?" asked Strange.
"The Breach was opened by Satana in the subway system underground along the tracks. That's where she did the ritual to cause all hell to come on earth. I can lead us down and we find a way to close it up and send everything back to hell." explained Blade.
"We find the succubus first, we send her make her undo everything" said Ghost Rider.
"Totally not creepy watching him talk. Nope. Not at all" said Garry.
"I like him" said Mick taking a sip of beer.
"Okay, okay, so we find the breach, and we find Satana. How do we convince her to reverse her spell or whatever?" asked Ava.
"We don't." said Strange as he opened a sling ring portal to the Sanctum Sanctorum and takes a book on Dark Magic. "I can undo the ritual. If we get Mephisto's attention, we can get his daughter." explained Strange.
"Okay so that leaves us with a few problems. Who helps Strange? Who holds off Satana? Who holds off the army of demons from the underworld?" asked Zari.
"I'll handle Satana" Wanda volunteers.
"I'll stick with Strange" said Blade.
"And I guess the rest of us buy you guys some time" said Spider-Man.
"God I wish Sara was here right now" said Nate.
"Relax. Khonshu is on our side. If we work together, we can prevail." said Moon Knight.
"Oh that's... comforting" adds Nate.
"Oh I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to Steve and Jake." said Moon Knight.
Nate looks around confused.
"Yeaaaaah. Marc has Disassociated Identity Disorder" said Peter.
"We're all gonna die." Nate said
"No. Not tonight. Not after we save Sara and bring her home after this" said Ava.
"What the hell does that make us? A Suicide Squad?" asked Mick.
"No. We are the protectors of the night. Defenders against the dark. We...are The Midnight Sons" said Strange.
"So let's go send these bastards back to hell" said Blade as the heroes gather around and put their hands in a circle of unity.
