Chapter 9 Plot Holes For Everyone!

The party continued to fly. Star noticed that the Koopalings were keeping a considerable distance from her. This made her feel….bad. She couldn't really pinpoint the exact way that she was feeling bad, but it was still bad. She made sure to slow down so the Koopalings would be able to keep up with her. They slowed down as well. Star sighed and, gripping her string in her right hand, made her way over to the Koopalings.

"Hey. Are you guys okay?"

None of the Koopalings answered her. In fact, if the looks on their faces were any indication, they were probably afraid of doing so. Star grinned.

"Hey. Do you want to see a neat trick?"

While not all of the Koopalings reacted to this question, Lemmy and Roy turned toward Star in interest. Star was willing to take that look as a yes.

"Okay!" Star concentrated as hard as she could. She could feel a beautiful warmth spreading through her body. She looked down at her hand, and saw that it was glowing with a silver light. In fact, her whole body was in a similar state. The eyes of all of the Koopalings grew wide.

"Woah," said Morton. Star concentrated again, and her whole body morphed into a silvery liquid. She started to fly around, and as she did she splashed each of the Koopalings. She noticed Lemmy giggling as the glittery silver liquid got onto his hand. By the time that she was done and morphed back into a solid, the Koopalings somehow looked calmer.

"Well? What did you guys think of that?"

"I...I liked it," said Iggy.

"Yeah!" said Lemmy. He chortled. "I guess Star has added a whole new meaning to the term 'bodily fluid!'"

"EWW!" the other Koopalings exclaimed in unison. Lemmy smiled innocently.

"What? She did?"

Star laughed until she saw something that made her concerned. The parts of the Koopalings bodies that had been splashed upon were starting to glitch. As they did, Star looked down and saw that the ground was glitching as well. It quickly turned from rocky, obsidian ground to a grassy, glowing field. The Koopalings looked down in fright.

"What was that?" Wendy asked. Star shrugged.

"Beats me." She got an idea. "Maybe I can fix it using my awesome healing powers!" She approached Larry and placed her hand on his shoulder. Her hand started to glow with a blue light. Unfortunately, just as it did, the sky started to glitch. It changed from blue to red to purple to yellow. Iggy's mouth started to gawk open in realization and terror.

"Star, stop!" he said. Star did what was told, and immediately the sky stopped glitching and reverted back to it's normal color. Iggy let out a sigh of relief.

"Guys, I think we need to walk the rest of the way to Sarasland."

"What?" Star asked. "Why?"

"Because," Iggy said as he approached the overpowered teenager. "There seems to be a direct correlation between the times you use your powers and the times that reality starts to break."

Star immediately felt offended by the observation.

"You think I am breaking reality?" She was surrounded by white flames. "That's…"

Suddenly, the world around the Koopalings started to glitch again. The sky shifted to night, Ludwig's hair turned into an afro (much to his terror), and the faces of the Koopa Clown Cars started to look a little….broken. Star stared down at Iggy's eyeless Clown Copter. Immediately, the flames around her disappeared.

"Holy cow, you're right."

"Yes," said Iggy. "Which means that we need to walk the rest of the journey." The Koopaling started to lower themselves to the ground. Star crossed her arms, a pouty expression on her face.

"Man," she said. "What's the point of having awesome powers if you can't even use them?"

"STAR!"

"Alright, alright, I'm coming!" With that, she lowered herself to the ground as well. When her feet made landfall, all of the effects of the glitching wore off. The Koopalings looked at Star with concerned expressions.

"Do you think you'll be able to make the journey to Sarasaland?" asked Wendy. Star huffed.

"Well, it would appear that I don't have much of a choice, would it?"

"That is factual," Iggy agreed with a nod of the head. "Okay guys. I believe there might be a warp pipe that can take us to Sarasaland just outside of Sparksville."

"Um, actually, it would be right in the center of Thwompville," Star said. "The one that you are thinking about would take us to the Underwhere."

Larry giggled

"'Underwhere,'" he laughed. Morton gently elbowed him in the shoulder before Iggy sighed.

"Fine then. I suppose that we are going to Thwompville. But Star…" he cast the fanfiction writer a glare. "You cannot, I repeat, cannot use your powers! Fo you understand?"

Star nodded.

"Yeah yeah yeah, no more reality shattering powers, I got it."

Ludwig raised an eyebrow at her.

"Do you promise that you won't use them?"

Star groaned.

"Yes. I cross my heart and hope to die, stick a corn cob in my eye. Or however that phrase is supposed to go."

Slowly, the Koopalings nodded. Before long, the party was making their way toward the warp pipe in Thwompville.
