Andromeda took off her shoes and placed them gently on the creaky wooden floor. The party had ended and she had just returned upstairs to the room she was staying in. Sirius had gone into his room to change and said he would come back in a couple of minutes. In the meantime Andromeda sat on the bed and began to take her hair out, releasing the clips and pins that had been there all day. A soft knock on the door brought her back to reality and she looked up to see Rabastan Lestrange standing at the threshold.

"Hi," she said softly, giving him a small smile. Rabastan smirked and walked over to her, sitting on the bed before placing his hands on either said of her cheeks. Without another word he pressed his lips onto hers, pressing their foreheads together. He moved one hand behind her head and rested his other hand on her lap. Andromeda wrapped her hands around his shoulders, holding the base of his neck.

Andromeda broke the kiss and looked up at him. "What's this about?" She asked, releasing her hands from his neck and placing them in her lap.

Rabastan stroked her cheek with his hand.

"I haven't been able to do that all day," he said placing his lips on hers again. His hands moved to the straps of her dress, which rested over her shoulder.

"Do you need any help taking this off?" He asked, fiddling with the strap between his fingers. Andromeda drew in a breath.

"I think you need help finding your way out, Lestrange," Sirius said, appearing at the doorway with his wand in his hand. Rabastan snickered and gave Andromeda a kiss on the cheek.

"Come see me later, darling," he whispered , squeezing her hand before getting up and walking out the door without another word.

Sirius slammed the door after he left and turned to Andromeda.

"Andy what the hell?"

"I was fine up until the last second!" She exclaimed. Sirius was beginning to annoy her.

"He's bad news Andy, don't fall for it," Sirius said, walking over to her and sitting on the bed.

"I don't know, Sirius," she sucked in a breath. "He can be kind of sweet," she said, giving a small smile.

Sirius put his head in his hands, sighing.

"Andy, snap out of it. That's what he wants you to think. What the hell happened before I walked in?" He asked

Andromeda turned away from him and blushed.

"It's none of your business. I don't ask you about your romances!" She said crossing her arms. She refused to look at him, ignoring him entirely and not making eye contact with him.

"Because none of my romances involve aristocratic assholes," Sirius responded, staring at her with a frown.

"I can't stand him, Andromeda. He's pissing me off. I'm telling you one more word from him and I'm going to-"

"Then you don't have to be near him, Sirius. I'm marrying him whether you like it or not, it's just the way it is," Andromeda spat, looking down. Andromeda jumped suddenly as she heard a man talking from behind the wall. It sounded like it was coming from Narcissa's room, but she couldn't tell for sure.

"Who is that?" She asked inching closer to Sirius, in a slight panic.Sirius scooted closer to the wall.

"It's Malfoy," Sirius said confidently. He shrugged his shoulders before listening at the wall again. Andromeda stared at him with a confused look on her face.

"Lucius? How did he get in here, Daddy will lose-" Sirius shushed her and listened intently at the conversation.

Andromeda crossed her arms and looked at him.

"You're going to end up hearing something you don't want to hear, Sirius".

--

They had left the Lestrange house early the next morning, Sirius spotting a running Lucius Malfoy as he was packing his things. They all thanked the Lestranges and bid their goodbyes to Bellatrix, who looked radiant in Rodolphus' arms.

Two days later, the families found themselves picking up again and heading to platform 9 and 3/4. Narcissa, Andromeda, Regulus and Sirius all carried their suitcases, following the crowd.

"Have a good term," Cygnus said giving his daughters each a kiss on the head. Walburga squeezed Regulus into her arms and held back tears. When she finally released him she turned to Sirius and gave him a pat on the back.

The four of them said their goodbyes and walked onto the train. Sirius felt some form of relief as he stepped foot on the train, looking at his parents from a distance. Regulus and Narcissa took off towards the other end of the train, pretending Sirius and Andromeda didn't exist.

"Come on," Sirius huffed pulling Andromeda into an empty compartment. He shut the door and took a seat, watching her as she sat on the opposite side.

"What's up with them?" She finally spoke, looking up at Sirius.

Sirius snickered. "Who cares".

Andromeda started to get up as she saw Sirius' friends come walking towards the compartment. It was James who opened the door first, pushing Andromeda back into her seat.

"Oh no you don't. No escaping, Black. I need advice," he said brushing a hair through his messy dark hair. Andromeda rolled her eyes and crossed her legs as she sat back down, waiting for the rest of the marauders to file in. Peter came in next. His hair was slicked back and his chubby cheeks wore a smile as he greeted Sirius, giving him a pat on the back. Remus was the last one to come in. He looked exhausted, but nonetheless content. His curls dusted over his forehead, covering up old scars. Andromeda noticed his face immediately brightened when he saw Sirius. Sirius stood up and hugged him, giving a small laugh as they embraced.

"Now what's this advice you need, Potter? I'm on a tight schedule," she said flashing her head girl badge. James sauntered over and took a seat next to her.

"Well excuse me, head girl," he said giving her a playful wink. Remus had taken a seat next to Sirius and Peter squeezed in on the other side of James, watching the conversation between them intently.

"I wouldn't be asking Andromeda about dating advice, she's going through this trend of liking assholes," Sirius said, raising his eyebrows at Andromeda. The rest of the marauders looked at her with confusion.

"What advice do you need?" She asked turning to James and ignoring Sirius' comment.

James let out a sigh and ran his hands through his hair again.

"Look, Evans and I had a somewhat decent start last year. She's not talking to Snivellous anymore-"

"Shockingly" Sirius muttered.

"-and so she's been a bit better with me. But she's hesitant, I can tell. We're not really a thing yet we're just sort of talking with each other. We haven't even gone on a real date yet. But I just-I don't know how to tell her-or make her realize- that..you know..she can trust me," he said, his cheeks turning a little pink.

"Just give her time," Andromeda said simply. "And..I don't know..take things slow-"

"Rash coming from you Andromeda," Sirius interrupted, staring at her.

Andromeda ignored him and turned her attention back to James. "Anyways, just be patient with her. Just let things happen naturally," she said.

"Whatever you say, Andy Candy," said James, giving her a small smile. Andromeda rolled her eyes and got up, grabbing her suitcase.

"Well boys, behave," she said glancing at them before heading towards the door. Sirius sucked in a breath and followed her out into the hall.

"Andy wait," he said softly. Andromeda turned around to face him and put her hands in her hips.

"Do you need something?" She asked, trying to sound stern with him. Sirius stared at her, walking up to her before putting his hand on her shoulder.

"Be careful alright," he whispered, worrying falling over his face. Andromeda gave him a single nod and then turned, walking in the opposite direction without another word.

Sirius sighed and watched her walk away, before heading back into the compartment.

"What was that about?" James asked, raising his eyebrows.

Sirius shook his head and sat back down in his spot next to Remus. "Nothing. It's nothing. Not a big deal," he said looking at the ground. Sirius took a breath before looking back up at his friends with a small smile.

"So..how was everyone's summer?" He asked.
