Iroh got little resistance from the capital has he took a fourth of their remaining landmass. He took the advance slow and stopped once he got to the river into Ba Sing Se, it worked as a good defence against surprise attacks. Finished his taking of territory, Jin sent most of the army under his command to go and re-enforce the forces that Iroh had left behind, now it was time for another war meeting.

Before the meeting when Iroh and Jin got back we went over a few things.

"Jin, you claimed all of this area there was a lot more resistance by the locals but there was no army, what is going on?"

"That would be my doing, you know how I do enjoy fucking with Ba Sing Se, well it got so bad that they have made the place it to a police state, most of the population is on the verge of rioting and the way the military has stepped in to keep things calm they can't leave without letting the rioting continue." Iroh and Jin might have not got all the negative connotation from the term 'police state' I helped to ran a 'police state' my brother was the head of the military and political organization in charge.

"I got to say, I was beginning to think that all of your victories were just Jin, but this is good work." I was able to convince my brother to leave the front and check that everything was going ok at home.

I needed some time to investigate, I don't know if it is the lack of constant surveillance or that some people have control over elements but the rate of missing persons was odd, some days there were thirteen reported and some days where there was just one reported, but there was never a day where none were reported. Looking at other city's even the fire nation capital some days the criminals just laid off, was something fishy with more Dai Li conspiracy's or was it just so paranoia.

From what I heard out of the capital this time in all the grand Admiral's and the grand Generals all came and just got bulldozed by Iroh and Jin. Jin had already hammered out all the minor details, contingencies and contingencies for the contingencies by the time Iroh came back he would not tell me what was going on but he didn't tell me nothing was going on. This time a now 16-year-old Lu-Ten made a nuisance of himself demanding to come along, all of his friends back at the capital had signed up, rather than deal with teenaged rebellion Iroh just acquiesced.

I was still investigating as the farther son duo were off making war, that's when I got incredible news the mega-ship had returned off the southern coast of the earth nation, they had left years ago must have run out of food or something, they made their way to me immediately. I got individual people telling me of there experience, there was an edge, there was nothing, well I was asleep, everyone ended up having to write reports. Either there was some funky hallucinogenic mist at the end of the world that gives everyone the same fever dream, or we are on one fucking big lion turtle. With the way the avatar world is I didn't think that there was hallucinogenic mist at the end of the world that gives everyone the same fever dream.

They were many ways people described how they fell off the edge and glimpsed the turtle under the shell before, Hama saved them by single handily lifting the ship just over the edge and far enough away from the currents, so they could get out, It was a feat of water bending equal or greater than my escape of Ba Sing Se, it was on the level of the old masters who made the north poles ice city.

I put Hama in the house next to the machinist and gave her engineer patronage, I had told the machinist about some odd property's I could remember from fluid dynamics, having a real-life Water-bender would help with experiments if he could convince her. Being so close it would be hard for her to completely reject the community, unless she took the offered opportunity to join the people that would go and try to recruit, first the Water-benders of the swamp before heading to the north pole and south pole if both people rejected the offer.

Next was a big ass fucking Balloon, I was thinking village sized monstrosity that would float indefinitely it would fly beyond the edge of the world, what was this turtle on, perhaps another turtle, and could that turtle be on another one, was it just turtles down? And where was all this water coming from maybe doing war with the spirits was not such a good idea?

I am thinking that with Ursa leaving voluntarily and coming back this time with a daughter, a tea that would stop her from getting pregnant and refusing to talk to me I had done something wrong unlucky for her I didn't give a shit. Azula was the daughter I finally got, so I ignored the tea she would come around or die lonely.

Everything was going so well so of course, we just got fucked in the war. The million troop army that was meant to take Ba Sing Se just got wrecked. The five generals gave up on peace in the city now they had a stationary target. The army that I had successfully looked after for years was amassed, they were forces without a royal family member to lead them, they got defeated in detail over a few days. Iroh and Lu-Ten sent instructions to they were to hold the river and southern peninsular, till they got there.

There was close to 1 million troops guarding the potions while making general preparations, the leaders were coming back to take them to a great victory, they were 45454 people per mile. Then a million troops finally left, still needed in Ba Sing Se riots broke out across the city. There was 1 group's 10,000 strong attacking the north half of the river, the two to one advantage have them take the day, and the earth army continued to the south half. Even with such a defeat no one, there was willing to brake Iroh's command of defence to retreat, the army we had ended up scattered through the peninsular. The final day was the worst as the fire troops that had fled the battle in the thousand's where hunted down, the first two days each side lost about 50,000 each and we had lost is just lost are defensive position, day three fact only half the army was recovered has the number of deaths at 400,000. But the three days of disastrous losses came to an end with Iroh's arrival and the fleet of airships.

He took control and crushed the 900,000 earth kingdom troops now they had surrendered, they were smitten, fiery death from above, so hot it cooked those who tried to hide underground. The impact of this attack would depend on how Ba Sing Se reacted could this be a trigger for a city militia of millions just because they had herd the inspiring tail of the squadron 13 to 841. Or it might be how 1,00,000 loyal troops did nothing but kill a few Fire-benders before surrendering.

Iroh had not been the well-tempered good-natured tea lover of the show, he was rather detached from the world around him. The death was just numbers that represented his people and the enemy, they didn't represent people with their life's they wanted to have, the person leading the nation had been hardened by fire lordship, he had not been enlightened to the effect of a death toll by the death of his son. The initial estimates 300,000 people of his people dead, enraged him in a way that had the earth nation paid back tenfold.

I did a lot of shuffling over the next few weeks, putting the 400,000 army men collected by normal ships after the airships saved, those that needed healing were spread throughout our annexed territory, from the calmest and compliant areas I pulled troops at a rate of 4 health for 5 injured. The 400,000 were redeployed to bolster Iroh, and again my perception of him had been skewed by my memories of the t.v. the show, he was a fucking mad man.

I pulled all trade from the Eastern Continent, Ba Sing Se probably had a few more years of wealth extraction but I had a north pole that needed some super cheap food.

More significant then my brother burring the continent was what Hama had done, she knew a thing or two about spirits and discovered one steeling kids, like she stole fire nation citizens. The mountain that was used to massively expand Ozaiopolis and now was the docking station for airships, had a sprit enraged that half of it had been taken and was take people. That's an end to my investigation it neatly explained why I was always losing citizens, this time the spirit stole one of Hama's pupils, a kid I had recruited from the swamp Water-benders, well a spirited battle ensued. The troops got involved using fire blasts to herd the spirit out of the city, Hama probably tried to use the water bending technique meant to calm a spirit but the day came too early and the spirit vanished, most people saw the spirit and the damaged it caused. As a final fuck you the spirt got a lethal hit on Hama, by the morning the was not a person who was not aware of the attack, Hama was dead some housing was destroyed.

My city mobilised for a quick response, we destroyed the rest of the mountain, it was used to fix the damaged property, pave roads, be memorabilia. I sent word of the incident and rock from the mountain all around the world. There was nothing but smooth land from my city to the red forest. I was able to leverage this incident in a spirit worship ban, implanting community centres all across the earth kingdom.

While the new community centres were being built, I appended some new laws about having benders on hand to destroy any natural resource when using it just in case it has a spirit that needs to be removed. And the new community centres stood out, the FCI was busy making rice terraces, so these community centres were wood or metal. The only building in the earth kingdom, to be not made out of stone.

How well people took to them depended on the settlement, but with all the forest damage I have been responsible for and the spirits it had caused to attack, there were places everywhere that had been damaged were more or less compliant. Anyone that was considering to fighting or there right to wasting good food was usually slapped down by their friends and family.

If the spirits were to take vengeance the backlash would be immense, but there was no vengeance because they were spirits, the event got little attention in contrast with Iroh's systematic destruction of one-fifth of the earth kingdom. I did try to emphasis the threat of the spirits but unless a person had experienced an angry spirit the idea was too abstract for people to care, and I couldn't blame them spirits are an abstract enemy.

Iroh took bloody vengeance for the 500,000 men that had been killed following his orders, he swapped through the eastern continent, burning as he went. There was 'plenty' of time for people to get out of the way, but it was an ever-expanding expanse of blackened trees, houses, people, animals, plants and anything else if it could burn it did. I think that leaving Ba Sing Se was meant to be a punishment for the people forced to watch as the land burnt and there was nothing they could do. The people were a bit distracted with starving to death the people burning their land could wait. If there was not a militia city of 6 million before, now there was no way the city was not filled with people wanting to kill and die for their king.

It was two years of escalating tension, the world waited to see what would happen with all the people when they got to the north of the continent and there was no more land bridge, Iroh was not quite there, he was past the metropolis but not to the tip. Rebel groups started popping up all over the place, the ones on the eastern continent were brunt to death, but I had to take back 200,000 troops to keep the rest of the earth kingdom compliant. It was this sort of shit that would usually put the fire nation on the back foot in the ebb and flow of this war, but Jin was good at putting down rebel groups that grow into organisations of 5 or more people.

"Dad why do we let the other people fight for us?" Zuko was a kid so he liked that I talked to him as an adult.

"Because I can justify letting my people fight the earth kings' people."

"oh, what dose that mean."

Time for another lesson in decision making eventually he would get it. "It's all about how I come to a choice, if I decide that it's unselfjustifiable I won't do it."

The example I have always used is that if I see an advertisement I don't what to let it affect the likelihood of me getting was advertised, beyond making me aware of the product or service exists. I don't what to have it just because it was advertised, but I don't what my negative reaction to being influenced by an advertisement to stop me from getting a product or service.

For Zuko I used a game I played with him yesterday "You remember Rock, Water, Air?" adapted from the classic Rock, Paper, Scissors. It begged the question 'what about fire' witch allowed of the reply 'fire beats everything.'

"Yes."

"Well if I'm playing and my opponent say they are going to play rock. How do I know weather to believe them?"

"Just play water."

"What if they lied and where going to play air." That finally stopped him, "That's why I don't want to try to get in there head predicting how many devious steps they have thought head, I play like I don't know what they said because to do anything else would be unselfjustifiable."

It served me well over the years I have lived, and given the flexibility of something being self-justifiable it didn't stop me from doing all that much.

The major thing that happened was Lu-Ten had grown a bit of a spine he had seen how well the people had adjusted to my conquest compared to his fathers, the kid could see the count down as clear as anyone. If they got not the north edge and didn't have a strategy for the millions they had just run from there homes and lively hood, that would be a sea of blood on his father's hands. It didn't matter that the other continents had been mostly accepting of their annexation so far, it would be full-on rebellion, killing the 12.5 million that mostly help feed the 6 million within the walls of Ba Sing Se was going to have as terrible publicity as the air nomad genocide.

So Lu-Ten helped me with a plan I had, it was a month before the earth kingdom citizens were going to run out of the room I stated a mass transport service started, I took 12.5 million people from the north edge of the western continent to the northern continents mountain ranges, finding 100,000 of my troops in the process and learning that .5 million was the death toll.

It took a month and I had timed it perfectly, but by the time the continent had been burn to a crisp, there had been another mass migration. The good bit was what the FCI had done to the mostly deserted mountain ranges, of the northern landmass, they had been transformed into terrace rice fields, considering that is what they have grown to feed Ba Sing Se they would be familiar with it.

Unfortunately, Iroh was incensed with what Lu-Ten had done he called an Agni Kai, in a heart reaching fight Lu-Ten killed his father, and proceeded to fuck off abdicating the crown to me. With my newfound authority, the evacuation was leveraged into good propaganda, mitigating the destruction of a continent down to forced migration.

The reality was Ba Sing Se had fought back and a landmass burnt for it, but those willing to accept they needed to be punished, those willing to accept the offer of mercy got moved to a new continent to call their own. Now they could be productive fire citizens, not being a productive citizen, well you see what happens then. It was a difficult spin, made even harder with Ba Sing Se as a testament to the incomplete migration and power of the earth king.

My reports from inside the walls of Ba Sing Se were discouraging the people believed that my spin was just fire nation lies, the consensus was that we had murdered the earth kingdom people just how we had killed the air nomads. They decided that they were the last of the earth kingdom, everyone was preparing for our attack or called a traitor and killed, it was a with you are with us or against us mentality the city was eating it's self alive. A citizen militia that dogmatic and dangerous needed to be stopped.

What I expected to have happened was first the wave of metal issues, then famine ripped through the population and they tried to feed 6 million people with farmland that can support 0.7 million and a half was not even growing anything. What had I done, mould scrapings from my Penicillin trials, the mould was over everything. It was the type to give you dizziness, anxiety and depression, and even hallucinations. And there was the last thing my agents did, they sent their wealth to me and tried to get out of there.

I had done all I could to weaken the Metropolis, but it was not enough the walls defended were as well as ever and after Iroh's campaign finally explained as trying to force a peace with Ba Sing Se, he had left it surrounded by a delicate waste yet it was still fermenting the whispers of rebellion. Whispers my underling Jin would take care of. Because Jin was buzzy with rebellion I stated the siege of Ba Sing Se myself.

In this timeline, the siege only lasted a few months not 600 days and we were the ones who broke it, like before where they kidnapped me this time they had Lu-Ten, fucked off apparently meant sneak in and try to cause a coup then get captured. I stop the siege on the promise of the safe return for my nephew, then they dammed themselves, they demanded that we retreat from the earth kingdom. I loved him but not give up the conquest love him, I said no, they said, Lu-Ten died. Later I learnt there was a riot when the people found out they had a fire nation royal in their grasp, Lu-Ten was torn to pieces.

Five years of focusing the world on the threat of the spirits, the reports started up people complaining about figments of there imagination, but once in a while a forest had to be cut down or lake evaporated. It was going well with the fight for humanity, the conquest and domination of the world might just be a footnote of context before this fight. but I don't think I was going to start it, the spirits I would have to combat would eventually reach god tier, fighting the physical manifestation of good or bad was beyond me. Or something making so much water that it was keeping the seas from literally just flowing off the edge of the world. Taking the now starved to a shadow of its former self's power Ba Sing Se was barely noticed by anyone but those insides.

I had the walls taken down and the penultimate task of the FCI they rejuvenated the land, tilling the soil so the burnt trees would now be nutrients, and the great walls of Ba Sing Se were taken to construe settlements both farming and ports, to replace the burnt ones there was factory's or manufacturing across the landmass. There was so much wall that even building a industry for the continent large segments remain, now as a testament to my power, better than any measly city or island the fire nation could conquer Ba Sing Se, go have a look at the walls, what do you think your city could do.

It's not talked about much as this moment as I have created a migration plan to have people repopulating the eastern continent, how could have guessed that having the supreme leader of the world slagging a continent in recent memory would make people reticent to go. But lower taxes and the sense of adventure the young are known for we could finally have a unified human world.

I do wonder what will happen to the way history is viewed when people realised more people starved to death in the walls of Ba Sing Se during the final years of the war than the total number of soldier deaths over the entire hundred years, and hey I was correct, 'treason has killed more people than all of the battles' well correct from a certain warped perceptive.

As some of the military was broken up to also help the repopulating, the top officials were taken in to my personal staff, under Jin they were all competent and I had them switched for different ones that would not raise any moral objections to what I would have them organise. It started with housing construction and wall building for the experimentation space the FCI terraformed an entire island and the banks on either side before I had the all but the most dedicated disband. The core would continue the work but general erosion would keep them busy, and in a disaster they could probably call on the rest of their brethren.

Orphaned babies from the world over were gathered on the island between the southern continent with the Si Wong desert and the western continent that Jin had taken during stage one, was designated Out of Bounds. And there I would get some answers I could not have got in my past life with the rules on psychological experimentation and human rights.

And time began to race a psychopathic Azula was entertaining. "Father please make, Teacher Yun Teach me lighting bending."

"Yun why aren't you teaching my Daughter lighting bending?"

"She is much too young, that much power is dangerous." I knew he was the teacher and all but it could be a life lesson either about not rushing ahead or trusting one's judgment.

"If my Daughter is sure that she can handle it and takes responsibility for her actions with it, I see no harm in letting her learn, Yun." That would be a situation to watch out for.

I ended up finally figuring out runes it was just ones that had design's intersecting with parts of the four symbols that four nations, I could create element when pumping chi into each design, water nation swirls let me create water and the fire nation flame lets me crest fire. It took a lot of time to design the rune scheme for the next soul jump but it had no design intersections with any of them for symbols.

It was years later I took Zuko to an inland lake with no fish, for some fishing.

"Why are we out here?" Zuko asked

"Too fish" I answered

He looked unimpressed

"So tell me about what your doing on out of bounds island." Zuko knew that I would not tell him but it was a good way to start a conversation.

Half and a half later

"This is boring." Zuko wined and through a fire ball at the lake, I could never get him out of that habit. 17 and still a toddle in many ways.

"Are you sure that's something worth complaining about?" I asked.

"Yes?" he tried to question

I flipped the dingy, Zuko the crazy kid dived after his fishing rod rather than coming up for air, I surfaced took a deep breath and went back down, Zuko was floundering just under the surface holding both rods. He was unable to direct his motion while keeping hold of the rods.

I took the rods from him and gave him a push to the surface, I let the rods go and followed my son to the surface, holding the edge of the dingy while Zuko tried to shake the water off, "So," I grinned "board?"

The glare he levelled at me was not quite intimidating.

"Come on, it was a little fun." I joked.

A months later I was distracting from the reports of out of bounds island, by a crying daughter. I remember the emotional periods of my first children's life's but I was never as invested in them as I was invested in this one.

I followed after the attendant, but Ursula was already there, good on her after the children were born, I couldn't summon the effort to fake investment in her and she reacted badly, but she was still rising the children, and it was not quite social unequal I could forcibly sleep with her. Not willing to risk destabilising the empire I'm the head of I have refrained from cheating and causing an upset, ten years is a long dry spell when it's be your reactions to the environment you're in and not from spending 6 decades in the assize bush alone just to get away from people.

It was later that year when disaster struck along with the comet.

I had spent a lot of time teaching Zuko I was and nurturing Azula, I was invested in their development and it was really the only thing interesting as I waited for results from the island 'out of bounds'. There was a properly functioning bureaucracy to run the world, things were getting better in absolute terms, the spirits were still annoying and Jin was running a good campaign against them, with no human on human war there was more food and less starving to death homeless. Sozin was a bit all over the place, reminding me of young me but there was not the same satisfaction for developing him as there was from helping developing Zuko and Azula.

By the time the comet came around Zuko had the skills to competently lead the world he would inherit from me and teach the next generation to be competent too. While it's a bit iffy but Azula should be strong enough to deal with her potential insanity, the only really keeping me was learning about the results from the out of bounds island. I was in my mid forty's and I could feel the deterioration, it was slow at the moment but I had seen what age does and even as premature as it seems I was ready to move on to the next adventure.

Zuko was meant to use the comet to ring a surrender out of the north pole, but he followed in his fathers footsteps and pawned it off on someone else. Sozin was left with having to ringing the surrender out of the south pole. Sozin went with unconditional surrender or be melted, it was a joke of a threat to the northern benders, there was no way to melt a pole. Right up until the north pole was melted.

I was done. Millions dead and displaced, 60% of the land gone with 80% of the arable land, the upcoming famine was going to kill a good 20-40 million. Most importantly so was out of bounds island, I would not be learning how expectations and different beliefs of reality could effect the supernatural elements of this setting. I did a fake death and had it blamed on the flooding, Zuko would not start his reign with a malicious act but a horrible tragedy.

I had an incredible funeral I had planned for myself, it was glorious, Parades, Fireworks, showing off some great invention 'the flying machine'. There was great speeches from all my family, Jin probably wrote them, we'll all but Ursa and Sozin my widow was in the bitterness stage of life and my son was up for regicide and treason. All in all it was too good to miss so I pretended to be dead just so I could be there, it was a great use of my final moments having the pain removing deadly in high amount herbs kicked in. before being burnt in the traditions of 'the old' it was my sun god religion and Jin followed it diligently.

My religion had gone bust, but I would figure out how to have the sun praised for giving us a life without letting room for zealotry all while asserting that the sun would not do any more or less for you than it was already doing, the current religion I had was way too 'murder all the unbelievers'.

"sounds oddly like you are entertainment for lionturtles." Yes, Jin I'm definitely entertainment for some godling and last time I was in a reality where billions died because I smoothed events, that gave me 500 years of peace. This time millions die because I follow a desire to conquer and I had less than 20 years and half of them far from peaceful. Hopefully, next place would make relocating be a good choice.

It was a lot more painful leaving this reality than entering it, but the pain was nothing unexpected, chi was not magic and the rune scheme was different, trade-offs that had to be made, pain worse than melting my own hands, was just not something I could be ready for.

A.N. Happy Holloween. Super excited to have this done hope you liked. The next one is only at the basic layout, I predict one to one and a half years till posted.
