Dealing with Death

Mist walked over to her father's grave and placed flowers down as she cried for her father to come back. She knew that would not have any chance of happening as the dead cannot come back. She then sat down right in front of the grave thinking to herself why she wasn't there when Greil died. Then, Ike came around, telling Mist that it was time for them to go back to Gebal Castle as the weather was getting cold. But before they could go back, the scared wyvern rider Valentin Volkov, the scout person of the Greil Mercenaries, wanted to check up on them.

"Hey, you guys fairing alright?" Valentin asked.

"Yeah. We'll get over this gruesome death…" Ike said. "Somehow."

"You know," Valentin began, "you remind me of the way I felt when my mother died and when my dad died."

"Really?" Mist asked Valentin. "You were like us when your parents died?"

"Yes. I in fact was." Valentin said. "But there's no time to talk about this. We best be headed back to Gebal Castle now."

Back at Gebal Castle later in the evening, Mist went to bed with Rolf and Rhys beside her, Shinon and Gatrie left the company, and Boyd and Oscar tried to catch up to them but were unsuccessful into getting them back into the Greil Mercenaries. Samantha, on the other hand, was cuddled with her brother Ross.

"Ross, this reminds me of how we lost our parents." Samantha said. Ike later overheard Samantha and decided to check if she was okay.

"Wait, Samantha, how did you lose your parents?" Ike asked.

Ross decided to reply. "We lost our parents when we were younglings in West Crimea. Then, we became orphans, fighting bandits in the Crimean countryside. Then, we found your father. He took us into your company, and we became members of what would be the Greil Mercenaries."

There was then a moment of silence. Oscar then grabbed a drink out of his saddlebag, and then walked on over to the rest of the group. He then decided to talk about a time that involved Greil and his family.

"You know, I think Commander Greil was a nice man." Oscar thought. "Chivalrous, brave, and he even honored both beorc and laguz alike."

"Yeah. I agree." Boyd said. "Anyone want to have a toast?" he later asked. Everyone agreed and decided to kneel down before the gods of the world. Ike began to speak.

"To my father… very loving and caring… chivalrous and brave, and loyal and respectful. We will miss you." Ike said. Everyone later went to bed and waited for the next day to see what would happen to the Greil Mercenaries.
