You look worried. You shouldn't be worried! Everything's fine! Well, it's actually better than fine! I said that I had a surprise, didn't I? And I can't wait to show you! But I have to be a little more patient, but it's all going to be worth it to see the look on your face!
"Deku? Why are you in my house? Where are my-?"
"What's wrong?" Tilting his head, pouting. "I thought you'd be happy to see me, doll. I've been waiting all day for you to come home. It started to get kind of lonely…" A smile curve his lips again as his forehead rested against hers. His thumb rubbing gentle circles against her cheekbone. "But you're home now! That's what matters! Come on; let me show you what I got for dinner."
Taking off his gloves, he tucked them into his pocket before taking both of her hands in his. The warm, soft feeling of her hands bringing a burst of euphoria. Lifting one to his cheek and trailing her fingertips along the side of his face. Half-closing his eyes, feeling heat rise to his cheeks. "I'm just so glad that you're home."
Dark sapphire eyes flicked from Deku's emerald green ones toward the kitchen. A small, worried frown on her face as she turned her head. He pouted again and took her chin with one hand. Making her face him. Frowning at the girl, his shoulders drooping.
"Doll? What is it? Why do you look worried?"
"Where are my parents, Deku?"
Muscles tensing. Stomach twisting in knots as he recognized fear in her expression. Something he had seen in so many faces over the year, but he had never wanted to see her look this frightened. Deku lowered his gaze to the floor, biting his lip before slowly looking at her again. "I thought you trusted me, Amaya. Why do you look like you're afraid of me?"
"I do trust you. I…I love you, Deku." Fingertips brushed along his cheek, a half-smile curving her lips as she looked at him. Reflecting so much warmth, so much love, that it was all he needed to be convinced. She was placing more trust in him than anyone else.
Leaning into her touch, his pulse fluttering as he smiled. "You're so sweet, doll. You know I love you, too. I love you more than I've ever loved anyone. You don't know how much you mean to me! I'm so happy that my hands are shaking right now! Oh, right! I got something special for dinner. And don't worry about Mochi-kun! I'll take care of feeding him so you can change out of your uniform while I get our plates ready, okay? I left a gift in your room. Can you try it on?"
A small nod. A reassuring smile as she gave him a gentle embrace. Fingers running through his curly, dark green hair to soothe him. Reassure him. His breathing hitched as he felt her lips brush against his before she stepped back. Sad to see her walk off toward her room, but excited to take care of her when she came back to him.
Sitting at the table, toying with a butter knife as he waited for her to return. The quiet crunch of the cat eating its food near the fridge. Humming to himself, turning the knife this way and that as he studied his distorted reflection. His thumb rubbing at the dull ridges along the blade.
It's all going to be okay. Soon we'll be together all the time! I can't wait! It's going to be so nice to see you whenever I want! He tilted his head a bit to the side. I wish our rooms connected. If I could connect them then I could just go see you, no matter what time it is. Maybe I can get a door put in the wall that separates our rooms. But I'll have to convince Shigaraki and get the approval from…
Deku rested his chin in his hand as he sighed. Eyes half-closing and frowning. Knowing another way to make it so they could spend time together, but a little embarrassed by it. If I had your measurements, we could have Twice make a double and they could take your place at UA. We could hang out all day together and we could have so much fun! A rush of heat rose to his face as he pouted. I can't just ask for your measurements, though. You're a girl.
Glancing toward the kitchen doorway before dropping his gaze. Pushing back his sleeve and adjusting the blood red ribbon tied around his right wrist. Smiling, admiring the way it shimmered in the light. A souvenir taken from Amaya's room.
There were so many interesting things in there. He learned more about her after looking around at her bedroom and it only made his love for her stronger. She crocheted in her free time; there were little yarn plushies, bundles of yarn, a collection of crochet hooks, and books of patterns. Amaya had multiple hair ribbons in case she lost one. He had skimmed the collection of books she had; manga, some language dictionaries, books about foreign countries, and even some poetry.
Deku's pulse skipped when she appeared in the kitchen doorway. His smile grew, his blush deepened. "Doll! You look so pretty!" He lifted a trembling hand to cover his mouth, tearing his gaze away from her. Unable to calm the racing of his heart as he looked her up and down.
Amaya's UA uniform looked nice on her, but this was something different. Something special. Something that he had picked out just for her when he was putting her room together at the bar. A black skirt that stopped just above the knees and flared out, a black vest, a white blouse with short sleeves, and a blood red choker that matched her hair ribbon.
So proud, so happy to see her in these clothes that he had picked out just for her. Deku pushed himself to stand up and took slow steps toward her, biting his lip to suppress the delirious laughter that was fighting to escape him. "You look so beautiful! Oh, but you always look beautiful, though! I just mean…I think these colors really suit you! Heheh! Doll, look! We almost match, don't we?"
She half-smiled as he got closer and walked to meet him halfway. Lifting a hand and caressing his cheek. Pinkness rising to her face as she smiled up at him. "Thank you. It's…really pretty."
He held her wrist gently, rubbing his cheek against her palm and fingertips. Closing his eyes. Basking in the warmth, the love. "I wanted you to have something nice to wear. And you're my doll. You're…a lot better than the last one, you know. Heheh! She didn't love me. Not the way that you do!"
Taking her free hand and pressing it against the left side of his chest, letting her feel the rapid beating of his heart. "Can you feel that, Amaya? That's just for you."
"Deku." She tipped her head back. Sapphire meeting emerald. A worried frown meeting his smile and making it falter. "I love you," she started, stepping closer to him. "I want you to be safe."
"What are you saying, doll?" Anxious laughter making him tremble as he tried to keep smiling. Staring down into her porcelain face and searching for something. No traces of fear or anger; only concern and warmth. "I am safe! I'd be more worried about everyone else! My quirk-!"
He bit his lip, remembering. She thought he was quirk-less. He could see the confusion in her eyes. Pouting, he led her over to the table. "I wasn't lying when I said I was born without a quirk. But I met someone that could change that for me. After my "education", he gave me one."
"What quirk did he give you?" Her eyes lowered to his arms as if recalling all of the scars he had showed her and questioning if they were worth it.
"You want to know about my quirk? You…really love everything about me, don't you? So you'll love my quirk, too…right?" Deku slumped into his seat, breaking contact with her and fidgeting with his tie. Starting to feel less sure of himself. Self-conscious. Worrying she might be frightened by what he could do.
"It's "reversal". I can turn people's quirks against them," he mumbled, looking away. "It's really useful. I can beat almost anyone in a fight if it's just with quirks. But I'd never use it on you, doll! Never! I can't even imagine trying to do that to you!"
Shift P.O.V
Where are my parents? He didn't answer me. Sitting at the table with Deku, extending a hand to rest on his arm. A small, reassuring smile even as her pulse raced. Where are my parents? If Deku has a quirk that powerful…why didn't he use it to kill Bakugou when they fought? He's a good person, deep down. He's just brainwashed. I can save him. I have to try to save him.
His smile returning as he reached over and adjusted her hair ribbon. Warm fingers skimming along her cheek, eyes half-closed in contentment. "You really are so beautiful. No matter what you wear. It just makes dressing you up that much more fun! My doll. My precious doll. I can't wait until it can be like this every day!"
Smiling, but panicking on the inside. Her normally calm and cool attitude still there on the surface as her heart and mind were thrown into turmoil. I want to save you, but I don't know how. My options are limited, Deku. I have to stay close to you if I want to help; that's all I know for sure.
"Okay, I'm sure you're hungry. Let's have dinner and you can tell me about your work study today. Look. I got that sweet curry that you like. We weren't able to eat the curry I ordered last night so I wanted to give the curry date another chance. Do you like that? A curry date. I know it's one of your favorites."
Eating quietly as she sat at the table with Deku. Answering his questions and trying to keep him in a good mood. Sensing his worry, his reluctance, beneath the surface. Checking the time and frowning to himself every so often.
Her phone began to chime with a message. Amaya ignored it, but Deku looked over curiously. She continued to eat, however, she wanted to check her phone. She wanted to see if it was her parents. He still offered no explanation as to how he had gotten into her house. As much as she wanted to trust him, every time she thought about it, she felt a shiver run down her spine.
Where are my parents? They're just at work, aren't they? Trying not to focus on the thought that someone from the League might have done something to them. Not wanting to think about the possibility that Deku might have made them disappear somehow. You wouldn't hurt my parents…right, Deku?
Her phone chimed again and his face took on a pout. Leaning his chin in his hand and studying her as she lifted a spoonful of curry and rice to her lips. "You're not going to check that?" he questioned.
"I'm having dinner with you right now." She saw his smile and felt her pulse skip a beat. Someone as cute and as sweet as Deku wouldn't kill his girlfriend's parents. It's just…not something he would do. Right?
His chair creaked. Deku stood and moved behind her chair, wrapping his arms around her and resting his chin on her shoulder. "Go ahead and answer it, doll. I'm curious. I want to know who it is!"
