CHAPTER 8

"You don't need to worry son, I am fine.." Mrs. Scott said reassuringly to her son while holding a white napkin to her bleeding nose, but her son stared at her irritatedly who was calmly sitting on a bed. They were the only four inside the room that contains five bunk beds on both sides of the room, probably because it's still a bit early for others to end their daily routine. And thankfully enough, they were on the furthest part of the room so they won't bother any people that will enter.

"Enough mom. You're obviously not! Why didn't you tell me that you're ill from the first place?!" Sakura watched from the corner as the only man in the room rubbed his palms to his face due to frustration and Sandra was desperately trying to calm him down by patting his back. They both lock gazes and talk through eye to eye.

"Ah- Alex let's go. We should hurry... Sakura.." Sakura nodded her head in understanding, then the two take their path out of the inn led by Alexis after saying they will be back soon. When Sandra came to her earlier then said that they needed to get a medicine and she have to watch after Alexis mother, she quickly bid a goodbye to the three. They looked sullen about her sudden departure especially when they were really excited because she was just about to show them her 'jumping skills', but they understand the circumstances so they let her go.

Right after she entered the inn, she saw Alexis supporting her mother to lean on the wall with her nose flowing bloods. The mother and son talked for a bit, and the mother confess that it was not her first time to experience something like that, and that's why Alexis became angry earlier.

Sakura took a step towards the middle aged woman who is now looking at her every move that made her somewhat slightly uncomfortable. She stopped and stand in front of the woman to introduce herself.

"What a beautiful young lady... what's your name?" The mother asked with a very warm smile that can be seen behind the napkin that she was holding for her nose. Sakura's face flushed at the compliment so she slightly bowed to hide her red cheeks.

"T-thank you.. I'm Sakura. Sandra's friend, it's so nice to meet you." And she straightened only to find the raising eyebrows of the woman. Sakura guess it is probably because of her how she introduced herself. Bowing is their culture as a sign of respect and she just can't stop herself from doing it here where people didn't do it because it became her nature.

"Oh I see... I am Alex, Alexis' mother. Sorry for troubling you like this, you already look tired, you should rest there." Alex pointed at the bed just across from hers, Sakura quickly shake her hands to refused the offer.

"Ah no! I'm here to take care of you, while they were not here. And you should be the one who should rest Mrs. Scott. Do you still have a fever?" Sakura leaned and reached to the forehead only to find it burning. She hide her frown and pick up the bowl that has been used from earlier.

"I'll be right back." Now that she have a patient, her medical experience kicked in, so she is now moving faster than before. After pouring the dirty water down the sink, she immediately replace it with a new one and gave a towel a slight wash. Then she came back and place it on a chair.

"Does the bleeding stopped?" She asked when she saw her wiping the blood under her nose.

"You know, you talked and act like an adult. I honestly felt like a kid right now because of how you treated me." The woman laughed.

"Haha. Is that so? You're the first one who said that to me." Sakura smiled awkwardly and took the napkin with blood from her hands and throw it in a near bin. She heard a small thank you from her when she gave it to her hesitantly too.

"Ahh.." Noticing that the mother is slowly rubbing her temples and hearing her moaned in pain, she ran towards her to help her out. She heard her sighed.

"I really want to chat with you but my headache suddenly came back." Alex complained while Sakura helped her to lie down.

"Maybe next time Mrs. Scott. For now sleep and rest. I am here to take care of you so don't worry okay?" By saying this, she heard the woman chuckled again. She smiled then squeeze the towel to place it on the forehead. She waited for a few minutes to let her sleep, when she sees the breathing to even out, she survey the entire place to make sure that no one was there.

Luckily, the windows were place on the very top of the wall so she didn't need to worry about getting discovered. After locking the one and only door, she ran again towards the lady. And began her healing ability.

She placed her hands on top of Mrs. Scott's forehead and a green light emerge. She just hope that everything will be fine.

It has been two hours already when the two came back and the inn was now full with other people. The sound of their heels caught the attention of some but paid no mind. Sakura stands up to make space for Alexis whose face was covered with worry and anxiety, he immediately touched her mom's forehead an breathed a sigh of relief. She watched him as he take care of her mother lovingly, and for a moment there, tears threatened to fall out her eyes.

'I wonder what was happening to my home right now... Mom, Dad, are you okay? I want to go back home. I really miss you.'

"Hey are you okay?" A hand gripped her other shoulder like a half hug, and she immediately wipe her tears. Sandra peek at her face with worry. Eversince yesterday, after they get back from the test, she noticed that Sakura was always lost in her own thoughts. And the fact that she can feel the sadness that Sakura was feeling, made her feel hurt too.

"I'm fine. I just remembered something." Sandra's eyes widened.

"You did?" She asked keenly. She want to ask her about what she remembered but she stopped herself when she saw her bitterly smiled at her. Biting her lip, she patted her head for comfort and looked at Alexis who was now coming to them.

"Can we talk outside?"

"I want to thank you for taking care of her while we were gone. You did a good job." Sakura smiled, the arm that has been resting on her shoulder was still there and it gave her a little squeeze.

"Thank you Alexis-san." She bowed, she was glad that nobody saw her from what she did. Fortunately, Alexis' mom's illness was not serious, that's why she can cure it in just a minute. Sandra took her arm back to cross it on her chest, and looked at Sakura with a smile on her face, then at Alexis who's staring at her. She raised her brow at him as if telling him, 'Told ya', she's a trustable person.' He huffed.

"I heard that you're joining the training corps tomorrow, why is that?" He said and slid his hand in his pockets while looking at Sakura with raised brows.

"I... kinda beg them first with the idea of joining you guys." She scratched the side of her brows while awkwardly looking at the wall beside her.

"Why?" He said with curiosity. Sakura sighed, she completely understand why he is asking her that. It is because he think that she is a spy or something, like she was plotting something. Well, she is. But it have nothing to do with them.

"I want to get stronger... so the past won't repeat itself..." She said with her soft voice. It's not like she have a choice though, she was already in Erwin's grasp. And what she had just said was true, it can apply to anything that has been happening to her ever since she was genin. She heard him cleared his throat, and she turn back her gaze to the man in front of her.

'I will do my best.' She referred to what they had talk about earlier. She can't say this out loud because she doesn't want to give him false hope about 'remembering' everything about that day when she didn't really have an amnesia. So her plan was to help them in every way possible.

"It's already dark. I think you two should go back now, it's dangerous." He said while looking at the two swiftly. And noticed Sakura's slightly hesitant look.

"Uh.. Can I meet someone before we go?" Sakura said it while smiling beautifully. She can feel the three's faint chakra near them, and she want to talked to them for the last time. She looked at Sandra who's giving her a curious expression.

"Who is it?" Sandra asked.

"Little kids, I'll be right back in no time!" She said then jogged away while ignoring Sandra's call for her. She turned around the corner and found the three slumped on the ground while doing their best to keep quiet. Their eyes are wide with horror because of her finding out that they are secretly listening to their conversation.

She was in a bright spirit this time, maybe because she did something good today. She leaned forward and smiled creepily that made them visibly flinched. She hide her laugh from amusement.

"You know that what you were doing is considered rude, right?" She smiled and leaned back to be in a straight position, when they nodded their heads furiously, they do the same thing as they got back to their feet and dusting their butts from dirt and muttering an apology.

Sakura also noticed the two adults that was watching the whole scenario from afar but she just ignored them and paid attention to the kids.

"It's fine. Just don't do it next time, okay?" She smiled again when they nodded their heads.

"B-but are you really going back now?" Eren said with a sad expression, seeing this melted her heart, so she patted him on the head.

"Yes. And I'm afraid that it's too dark to show you my skill." By saying this, she saw them sulk so she think of something that can cheer them up.

"I said that we're going to exchange letters, didn't I? Don't worry, it's just three months! Once I graduated I will come back here, I promise." And she succeeded.

"Really?!" Said Armin and tucked her in a hug. She was a bit surprised for a second but she just patted him on the head. Eren followed suit as well as Mikasa who did it in a gentle manner. In which she gently stroke her hands to the girl's hair.

"Yes." Sakura affirmed and they all broke the hug. "We are going now..." She said as she saw the two waiting there and smiled to signal them that they can come near them, and they did.

"Well.. we are going now kiddos. Make sure to wash yourselves up before you sleep, alright?" Sandra stated with a big grin that somehow made Eren scowl. Sakura guessed that Eren could be the type of kid who didn't want to be treated like one. She chuckled. And turned around to their path when Sandra place her arm at her back. So for one last time, she looked at them and waved.

"Mikasa! I will miss you guys! And train hard so you all can defeat me someday! Bye!" She said in her native language as she referred to what they had discussed this afternoon. After she found out that they will be joining the survey corps she confessed that she plans to join it too and that's how their challenges to each other started.

Seeing that Mikasa nodded she smiled and looked to her front with a big smile.

"Hey, what did you say?" Sandra asked as she looked back and fort to the girls.

"I said that I will miss them and they should train hard so they can defeat me from being awesome." She chuckled.

"But did that girl can understand you? I saw her nodded earlier." Alexis said. He was going to take them back to the stalls to get to their horses.

"Mhm. I was surprised too. I thought I was the only one who can speak my language!" She said happily and looked at the two to her left. Sandra smiled at her while Alexis was the same as neutral.

They walked in silence until they got to their destination, they both mount their horses and said goodbyes before they finally leave. After a minute of riding, Sandra suddenly spoke.

"I'm glad that you're back to yourself Sakura, you looked really down eversince yesterday." The sound of crickets and the cold blow of wind made everything so peaceful and quiet. She was really happy to see her smiling again.

Sakura genuinely smiled at the woman. Starting from today, her life will be different. She was just really grateful that there are someone who will be her friend in this world just like at her home. From Konoha.

"Thank you Sandra-san for always being there for me. I will make it up to you someday."

"Well my time is always precious so I will looking forward to it Sakura." They both chuckled and another silence passed.

"You can shrugged of this question but I was really curious when you said you remembered something earlier..." She trailed and looked awkwardly at the girl next to her who looked deep in thought.

"It's just that, I suddenly remembered my parents taking care of me when I was young. I can't remember their faces though." Sakura lied. It's better if she kept giving incomplete information so they will find no clue about her identity.

"If you want, I can help you to find them." Sandra offered because of guilt and pity. Besides they were doing it behind her back afterall.

"Thank you for the offer but I will decline. I already caused so much trouble to you and I still have no clue about them so I don't know where to start."

"That's why I'm here! Two is better than one, right?"

"Thank you, but I really want to do it alone Sandra-san."

Sandra was filled with guilt. They were looking at her background information so they can investigate more about her but now that she's the only one who is really close to Sakura she can't do it anymore. And if she did, it is to help her find her parents and not to investigate if she's a threat or not.

"Hey Sandra-san, I was wondering.." She broke from her own thoughts and looked at Sakura with raised brows.

"What is it?"

"Do you believe about people living in other dimensions?"

"Pfft--" Sandra stifled her laugh when she saw her with a calm expression.

"Why the sudden idea?" She said while chuckling.

"I was just curious... Come on, don't answer me with questions!" Sakura force herself to laugh. She's really serious though.

"Ok, ok! Hmmm... It's not possible, so I don't believe it. How about you?"

"I just thought that it is possible. What if I was really from another dimension that's why I don't know anything from this world." Now that Sakura let her thoughts out, she can feel herself cringe from what she was saying. She looked at Sandra who's failing miserably to stop her laughter.

"HAHAHAHA! Did you hit your head Sakura?" She laughed then act like she was reaching out to inspect Sakura's head.

"Of course not! HAHAHA! Anyways, how long do we have left to get there? I'm really tired, I want to rest right here, right now." Sakura laughed, she didn't want to continue the conversation further so she changed the topic.

"Maybe thirty minutes more if we ride with full speed." She said in deep thought and suddenly looked at Sakura when an idea came to her mind. Sakura did the same as they locked gazes.

They both smirked.

"In a count of three... 1, GO!" Sandra shouted and didn't let to finish herself before she sprint, smirking at Sakura who looked betrayed. She laughed.

"HEY THAT'S CHEATING!"

Somewhere in Northeastern part between the wall Rose and wall Sina. In the threshold of the forest, there sat a three person who all looked uneasy.

"So he was still not woking up." A man with a pale blonde color and hazel eyes who is wearing a normal civilian clothes stated.

"Seriously, why did you keep him? He obviously heard our plan! What if he confessed it to the higher ups?!" A woman with a blonde hair and blue eyes looked at the man infront of her with full annoyance.

"Maybe it's best if we just kill him on the spot..." Another man with a black hair and eyes spoke slowly as sweat was slowly forming on his forehead.

"If he woke up and planned to do what you fear, then I will kill him myself. But not today." The blonde man crossed his arms like he was in a deep thought.

"Are you insane?! What if he sneaked out from us, what will you do?!" The woman raged and clenched her fist.

"That won't happen. It has been a week but he's still unconscious, so when he wake up, I'm sure he can't even lift a finger. Just trust me." The woman looked at the blonde man hopelessly. She grit her teeth. If he can't then she will be the one who will do it.

"I'm out of here." She said as she turned her heels to the opposite direction from the camp, today is the last one, she will surely do it tomorrow.
