Chapter 17

I sit in the boardroom, busy writing up a supporting statement for the arrest Zeref just made, he went to detain the suspect. Laxus is next to me writing his own docket. Lyon sitting across from us busy writing again.

"Is it just me or is it quiet around here?" Lyon asks as he looks up towards me and then Laxus. Just then Gray walks into to room with his own paper and pen.

"Lucy's not here." Gray states and we all look up and I nod my head, she would have burst in here by now, or found us and said hello. But I haven't seen her.

"She playing secretary again?" I ask and at this Gray shakes his head from side to side.

"No, don't thinks she's here." Gray says and then Laxus pulls out his phone looking at it. He seems surprised as he looks to me with a frown on his face. "But she hasn't been here since Monday." Gray says and at this I look up not too sure how we missed the blonde for the past three days.

"Well she hasn't been online." Laxus says and at this I pull out my phone. I scroll along the screen and find her name. The setting must be off to show when last you were on line. I decide to send a simple message, just a 'Hi, how are you?'. I see one mark but never the second nor the read sign and I frown. Levy walks into the room as she brought some more paper for us to write on.

"You heard from Lucy?" Gray asks and Levy smiles as she looks to the room of men.

"You know she's actually on leave right?" Levy asks and this catches us all by surprise. When did we miss the fact that she would be going on leave. "Her flight to the States was Sunday." Levy states and at this I see Laxus frowns but he looks down and he continues to write.

Lucy had gone on leave and gone to the states? Then the lightbulb in my head went on. She mentioned that she would be leaving to Las Vegas to meet up with her boyfriend. I sit back in my chair and look on as I see Levy smile once again and she turns to leave. How did we miss this? I let a chuckle leave my lips as I look up to the ceiling. Laxus and Gray looks towards me with frowns on their face.

"She better bring us some gift from the states." I say and at this Gray chuckles but Laxus just continues to look down. It almost seemed as if he was bitter about the whole thing.

"Some Dr. Pepper and some Reeses would be great right?" Gray says and I almost have no idea what he was referring to. But I nod my head in agreement.
