Chapter 9

-Northern Fortress-

-Silas POV-

I managed to bring Corrin outside by using a small hole in the wall at the back of the garden and we are now picnicking outside.

I brought sandwiches I made with food I found in the kitchen, tomatoes, some cheese, salad, meat and bread, obviously.

I showed her the pretty flowers in the forest, played tag and hide and seek with her.

"That's really cool around her Silas!" The princess smiles at me with sparkling eyes.

"I know, right?" I say with a smile matching hers.

Corrin notices a squirrel running between the flowers

"Look! It's so cute!" She jumps on her bare feet and starts chasing it while laughing.

However the squirrel does not want to get caught and climbs a tree in which it hides.

"Oh..." Corrin mutters disappointed.

I look at the sky and see that it is getting late. "Corrin, we should get back now."

"Ok..." She says with a saddened expression.

I feel bad for making her sad. "We can do this again someday." I suggest to her.

"You promise ?" She looks at me with hopeful eyes.

"Promise." I reply with a confident smirk.

We then pack up what is left of the picnic before making our way back to the castle.

Except that nothing goes as planned.

A lot of guards are looking around the fortress probably searching for Corrin, and if we get caught...

A guard appears behind us and grabs my and Corrin's arm and drags us to the entrance. "I found them!" He yells to the other.

If we get caught, I don't know what will happen to me.

We are brought in front of the head instructor of the princess as he looks at us with restrained anger.

"Who got the idea?" He says with gritted teeth.

"I did!" Corrin suddenly exclaims with determination. "I was the one who dragged Silas into this."

The instructor looks at her with a doubtful gaze before speaking with a grave expression. "Princess, we all know you are a Nohrian royal, and what do Nohrian royals do?"

"They never misbehave." She answers with a weak voice.

"Which means only young Silas remains as a suspect." He tells her before shifting his gaze on me. "And do you know what is the punishment for traitors young Silas?"

I gulp nervously at his question, of course I know what the sentence is, it is...

"It is death." The instructor states before gesturing for guards to take care of me.

Two of them try to reach for me but they are stopped by none other than Corrin. "No! Please, it is my fault, all of it! He just helped me because I ordered him to!" She cries out.

"Corrin..." I can only look at her with a haggard expression. "Why?"

The instructor turns to Corrin. "If I understand the situation, you disobeyed by getting out of the fortress but you also abused your power on young Silas?"

Corrin suddenly finds the cold stone floor more interesting than her instructor. "Yes, sir."

"I see." He mutters. "Young Silas, you are now forbidden to visit the fortress, we wouldn't want Lady Corrin to abuse her power again, would we?" He leans toward me.

"No, sir." I say, with tears threatening to fall.

"Gunter!" The instructor calls.

"Yes?" The knight takes a step forward.

"Please take young Silas back to his family while we will think of a just punishment for Lady Corrin." Gunter takes my hand and leads me away from my friend as she is escorted back to her room.

We will meet again, I promise.

-Castle Krakenburg-

-Narrator-

The court mage of Nohr is making his way to the throne room to speak with the king. His network has transmitted more information about the mysterious assailant and kidnapper.

However if they are true, then his king's plan could be in danger.

He enters the room by a back door reserved only for him and the king.

"Iago. Do you have news of the unknown threat?" Garon demands as soon as the magician is in sight.

Iago bows before speaking. "Yes my lord, but they are not good news I am afraid." The king grunts before gesturing him to continue. "It seems our target has already made it's way toward Hoshido."

Garon brings his fist down on the handle of his throne. "Those bastards! How dare they steal what is ours!"

Iago flinches a little before his king. "They traveled across the endless canyon after raiding the village of Hallenberg and getting in conflict with the soldiers located there." He continues nonetheless.

"I guess they have been slaughtered?" The king mutters.

"Yes my Lord, all the bodies have been found in two parts or more with clean cuts. The power needed for even the sharpest of our blade to be able to do so is inhuman." Iago reports. "However, there was a witness this time." Garon raises an eyebrow after hearing those words.

"Continue." He says.

"A young girl saw the culprit jumping out of the storage room before climbing the fortifications to escape." The young mage starts. "Our enemy is a yellow eyed, dirty blond haired petite girl clad in a all black armor."

"Interesting..." The king comments. "Any other information concerning our rogue knight?"

"She was alone during the event and she wasn't wielding any weapon according to the witness." Iago finishes his report.

Garon thinks for a moment before asking his retainer. "What are the chances that this new entity is related to a dragon?"

"It is high, my Lord. However the question we need to ask ourselves is: 'Is she one of the dragon herself or is she a knight send by one of them and was given dragon blood?'" The sorcerer tells his king.

"This is troublesome. Where are you with the 'project'?" The latter asks Iago.

"It is the most difficult problem I have been confronted to, but do not fret my king, we will make it work before the princess's seventeenth birthday." He says with a confident smirk.

"I see... We need 'them' for the war so do not fail me Iago." The king dismisses him with a wave of his hand.

"Of course, my king" The mage disappears in the shadows.

-Hoshidian Shrine-

In the middle of the night, a lone knight can be seen wandering around the shrine in her sleep wear. But she is not sleepy, she does not get sleepy, the ambient mana is largely sufficient to allow her to be fully awake all day long.

It has been two days since they reached the Hoshidian border and tomorrow they will follow Maiko and Toru in the closest village where they hope to be welcomed.

Since the Guji has made clear to her that their stay at the shrine would be free of charges, Kamui wants to give a gift to them.

Even if he will probably never know about it.

She goes in the middle of the priests and priestesses habitations and starts to draw a magical circle with a diameter of 30cm. She is focusing on the symbols needed to accomplish her goal as she does not have any tome with the glyphs described inside.

After 15 minutes of engraving, she finally lays on her back slightly tired by the action. If she has done everything correctly, the center of the magic circle activates a bell that should wake up everyone if somebody tries to enter with malicious intent. The middle does the same for unnatural creatures trying to enter, like the Gladiatorsteins or Dead Apostles. And the exterior part alerts her if this kind of situation ever happens.

This is a 'Bounded Field', and it will surround the shrine as a whole, this is her gift for the welcoming atmosphere, even if there was Seiji.

She then pours mana into the circle as it glows crimson for a minute after what she goes back to her shared room with Kotai and Maiko to 'sleep'. During this time, she will plan what they will do when they will reach the village.

-Next Morning-

Kotai wakes up in the morning to the voices of his guardian and Seiji arguing yet again. He stands up, fights against his kimono and gets out of the room.

"You nohrians are all the same, you destroy everything and then blame others!"

"How many nohrian have you met in your life?" Kamui asks the orange haired idiot.

"..."

"That's what I thought." She says before turning around and seeing the albino looking at Seiji.

"You are stupid." He points out.

"What?!" He exclaims before looking at Maiko who was also standing behind Kotai the whole time.

"Yes." She simply states.

He then looks depress by the turn of events while the trio silently gets away from him.

"Why was he so mad?" Maiko asks.

"He tripped and tried to blame me for it." The petite girl explains calmly.

"But you didn't." Kotai says with a frown.

"Exactly." She affirms his statement.

They then join Toru and the Guji at the gate.

"This is were we part way Guji." The knight bows to the old man. "Thank you for everything."

"Do not worry, may you find a home soon." He smiles gently to them.

"Thank you again." She bows once again.

After that, they begin their small journey toward the village of Shirakawa where they hope to find a place to settle down.

Dan1142000: The main protagonist is OC (kinda, I'm not sure if it is the correct term to use for this situation). She is the daughter of Shirou Emiya and the heroic spirit Artoria (like you guessed.). She is not as powerful as her parents, her Unlimited Blade Work is not connected to her fathers, it is empty except for some NP, but I will explain later. She got her yellow eyes from her father and the blonde hair from her mother, as for her pale skin, it will be explained. I am still unsure for her stats but it will be weaker than Saber. As for Excalibur Morgan, it will also be explained. In conclusion, if she were to face Shirou(Post Fate:Stay/Night) or Saber she would certainly lose.
