Kimmimaru made the first move. He pointed one of his hands at us. I knew what what coming so I reacted instantly.
My sword appeared in my hand and I used it to deflect. That's when the others attacked.
I moved away from the others though and I was glad to see Kimmimaru following me.
I wasn't idle though. As I moved away, I was making handsigns. He noticed a split second too late. Vapour Style Solid Fog Jutsu.
He tensed as I finished my handsigns. Two sharp bones, the length of a tanto appeared out of the palms of his hands.
He looked disdainful however, when he saw my jutsu. Likely thinking that I was creating a smokescreen.
Unfortunately for him, I'd chosen the area of our battle well. The ground beneath our feet was compacted sand.
There were no plants in our immediate vicinity, so there was nothing to give the effects of my jutsu away.
The last I saw of him, before my jutsu reached him, was his look of disdain. I didn't wait for him to react again though.
I made a single handsign and a shadow clone of me appeared. This clone was no ordinary shadow clone however.
I took a page out of Kakashi's book and added my element to my clone. It couldn't maintain its form for long though. It's very volatile.
Once I created it, I sunk beneath the ground with an earth jutsu. Not a moment too soon however.
With a sharp cry of pain, Kimmimaru leapt out of the fog bank. My clone threw two kunai at him, which he batted aside.
That's when he rushed my clone in a burst of speed. My clone ' tried ' to dodge, but got stabbed in the arm.
Before he could finish sneering, or even withdraw, my clone exploded. Even underground, I could feel the heat.
I also heard Kimmimaru's scream of pain and rage. That's when I rose above ground again and took a good look at my opponent.
He was badly burnt. The top he wore was completely destroyed and his pants were mostly ruined. A lot of his skin was burnt and bleeding.
Rage was in his eyes. " I was going to savour your death, but now I'm going to finish you! " He snarled at me.
That's when dark sealing patterns started covering his body. I didn't wait for him to finish transforming however.
I went through lightning fast handsigns. I finished at the same time that his transformation was completed.
He didn't bother with the first stage of the transformation. He went straight to the purple reptilian second form.
He moved towards me with incredible speed. I was ready for him however and that's why I did two things simultaneously.
I leapt up and kept rising and at the same time, I took a deep breath and released my jutsu. Fire Style Karura.
A massive bird shaped fire shot out of my mouth, engulfing the battlefield and turning what was left of the sand, after my clone's explosion, into molten glass.
With his new speed, he was able to dodge most of my attack, but he was clipped by the edge of it.
I could see that the battle was taking its toll on him though. He didn't expect my fog to be an offensive move and thus allowed himself to be caught up in it.
The fog however, is an insidious jutsu. It doesn't take effect immediately. There's a lag of a few seconds.
What that means is, he breathed some of the fog in. Unlike Kakashi, he has nothing to filter what he breathes in. He's already suffering from some kind of respiratory disease.
The acidic properties of the fog likely exacerbated the damage that was already present. Then he was caught in the explosion of my clone.
The damage inflicted caused him to transform. The transformation after all, heals any external damage that he already took.
It doesn't help with his internal issues however. I decide then that this fight needs to end soon. I must check on the others.
Fire Style Phoenix Flower Jutsu I say mentally. I then expel hundreds of small fireballs. Most of them don't even reach him.
That's not the point however. With the jutsu, I've been corralling him. Thus, in his retreat, he forgets about the molten glass, which hasn't solidified yet.
The moment he gets caught in it, I act. His distraction by the fireballs as well as the glass, gives me the time to complete another jutsu.
I land and slam my hands on the ground. Earth Style Dark Swamp. Immediately, half a square mile of swamp appears, sucking him and the glass inside.
I know he's not quite finished yet so I go through the signs of my final jutsu. Just in time as well.
A massive forest of bones erupts from the swamp, growing in all directions. I don't see him anywhere.
It's fortunate then, that my eyes aren't my best sense. I feel him about to appear from the nearest bone spike.
My jutsu is released a second before he erupts out with an arching slash from a bone sword.
Water Style Severing Wave. A razor sharp beam of water shoots from my mouth. It goes right through his chest, destroying his heart.
I feel the moment that he dies. I create a clone to destroy his body and then I set off in the direction of my team.
Yakumo POV
Out of the corner of my eye, I see sensei and the scary looking white haired guy head in another direction.
I notice as well, that Naruto is taunting the two headed guy. He eventually gets angry enough to chase after Naruto.
That leaves me with the girl. She's already lost. Not that she knows it. The moment they entered this clearing, they were ensnared in a genjutsu.
I've been adding to it this entire time. The thing is, even locked, my Ido grants me a number of passive powers.
One of them allows me to tell when someone notices they are in a genjutsu and secondly, when they attempt to break it.
I say attempt, because my multi layered genjutsu are hard to break. You'd need the proficiency of my uncle or Kurenai, or the Sharingan.
Even then, it's no sure thing. In the moment it takes to break a genjutsu, I can already have cast another on you.
The moment I saw this girl and noticed the flute by her side, I knew she was a genjutsu type.
My clan has a vast library of genjutsu. Including scrolls on sound based genjutsu and how they can be channeled through instruments.
Sadly for her, I require no crutches. It's then that she speaks. " So they leave the weak bitch for me to take care of. I'm insulted. "
I smirk, but don't reply. I withdraw four shuriken and throw them at her. She snorts and bats them aside with the flute she quickly drew.
She curses however when they return to her. You see, I have chakra strings attached to them.
My control is just as good as Neji's is. However, whereas sensei had him learn medical jutsu, she had me work on more unconventional techniques.
One was chakra strings. The other, was one handed handsigns. I put it to use while she's distracted. Fire Style Phoenix Flower Jutsu.
She notices the jutsu almost too late. She dodged. Unlike sensei however, I use the jutsu as it was meant to be used.
Thus, the shuriken hidden inside the small fireballs, swerve towards her. She dodged again. That was her mistake.
Unbeknownst to her, this was all genjutsu. I appear behind her and stab her through the base of her skull. She dies instantly.
Anticlimactic perhaps, but genjutsu is a subtle art and I can already tell that she lacked subtlety.
She was attempting to toy with me. Not knowing that she was the one being toyed with from the beginning.
I go through another set on handsigns. Fire Style Fireball Jutsu. After a few seconds, all that remains of her body is ashes.
With that done, I move on to see if the boys need my help. Not that I actually think that's a possibility, but with them, anything is possible.
Naruto POV
Finally, it's my time to shine. I'll deal with this weirdo easily. " Neji lemme take care of this freak okay? You just hang back. "
Before Neji could reply, the freaky guy did instead. By laughing. " You must be just as stupid as you look blondie. I'm way out of your league, as you're about to find out. "
His body starts contorting and then it splits into two. My mouth is open. I'm shocked. That was so weird.
Both of them look at me then. Cruel smiles on both their faces. Then dark sealing patterns start appearing from their necks.
Their bodies and chakra start changing. Their chakra becomes foul and they themselves twist into misshapen creatures with horns.
The moment the seal appeared though, I ran through a couple of handsigns. Wind Style Great Breakthrough. A strong gust of wind hit them, tearing away a couple of trees that were behind them as well.
I turn away from them to brag to Neji. That's when I see his look of alarm and he shouts " look out ! "
I turn, but not quick enough. I'm nailed by a kick that sends me flying. If I wasn't used to my sister and her old sensei, I'd have been dazed.
As it is, I get up though. Still, that really hurt. I can feel blood trickling from my busted lip.
I hear a sigh. I already know who it is though. " It's obvious that you can't take them both on. I'll step in now. "
Neji doesn't wait for my reply as he rushes the two of them. They move to engage him in hand to hand. Big mistake.
He quickly settles into the Gentle Fist style. They are smarter than they look though. They don't let him touch them.
I know that Neji isn't serious about the fight yet though. I use his distraction to go through more handsigns.
That's when I take a breath and start Wind Style Vacuum Blast. A compact wave of wind moves with incredible speed towards them.
They almost get hit. Neji leaps over the jutsu, while they try to go under. The weird protrusions from their shoulders get caught in the jutsu though and it sends them spinning.
I don't let up. I throw a handful of shuriken at one and use a different jutsu. Shadow Shuriken Jutsu. Five immediately multiply into fifty.
Sakon I think I heard the other one call him, crosses his arms to protect himself. While he's distracted, I create two clones and send them underground.
Then I begin another chain of handsigns. I can see that his arms are bleeding and he looks pissed.
That's when he notices I'm going through handsigns. He replies with his own. We finish at the same time.
My Wind Style Vacuum Blast Barrage against his Summoning RashÅmon. My jutsu creates multiple condensed waves of wind.
His jutsu summoned a massive gate with images of demons on it. A loud banging sound was heard around our battlefield as my jutsu hit his.
I could hear him laughing when the wind died down. The gate still stood, but there was a large dent in the centre.
That's when I got annoyed. Rushing through more handsigns, I overpowered my next jutsu. Wind Style Drilling Air Bullet.
I took a massive gulp of air then expelled it, by hitting my fist against my stomach. A huge conical mass of wind left my mouth.
I had to use chakra to stick my feet to the ground, otherwise I'd have been bowled over.
A deep boom was heard as my jutsu hit the gate. For a moment, I thought it would stalemate again.
But then with a groaning sound, a huge hole was torn into the gate. I blew wind natured chakra on two shuriken and threw them through the hole.
The wind chakra greatly expanded the size of the blades as well as the cutting power.
I heard curses and then I heard trees groaning as they started to fall. I scanned my surroundings.
Out of the dustcloud before me, Sakon leapt at me, claws extended. I drew two kunai and met him halfway.
As we both tried to overpower the other, he spoke. " You are no match for me kid. You just got lucky...uurk! " He didn't get to finish his taunt.
Out of the ground behind him, my clones burst upward. One had a Rasengan in its hand, which it thrust at Sakon's back.
It was all over then. Sakon crashed into the ground, where he twitched for a bit then became still.
Neji POV
Naruto was such a showboat. I don't know how he could be related to sensei. They are completely different.
Then again, so are Hinata and I. We aren't twins though. It's then that I intervene in Naruto's fight.
I take the stance of the Gentle Fist and half-heartedly start attacking. My clan's taijutsu is known far and wide however.
It's therefore no surprise to me, that they're both avoiding my blows. It's then that Naruto attacks one of them.
I use the slight distraction to draw handfuls of senbon in both hands. I channel my lightning natured chakra through them and they start to spark.
My opponent attempts to rush me then. I'm ready though. Once he's halfway, I leap up and throw the senbon at him.
The chakra in the needles causes them to fly faster than they usually would. He tries to dodge, but two hit their mark. One in each shoulder.
He stops and grunts in pain. I aimed to hit him in a pressure point with each needle. I can see him trying to push them out with his foul chakra however.
I don't give him the chance. I close the distance and take a stance. Eight Trigrams Sixty Four Palms. He tries to stop me, but it's too late.
Once momentum is built, it can't be stopped. First two strikes, then four, then eight and so on. On the final sixty fourth strike, he goes flying.
I'd been keeping a close eye on him the entire time with my Byakugan. That's why I didn't miss when his body began acting strangely.
Traces of his cells and chakra entered inside of my body when I touched him. If I didn't have my kekkei genkai and if I wasn't trained in medical jutsu, I'd be confused.
I however did have both those things, so I could guess what it was that he'd done. Some kind of parasitic jutsu. I smiled.
With just a thought, lightning natured chakra coursed through my body, destroying all traces of him.
That's when I went through a long string of handsigns. I'd seen the theory and the handsigns in a scroll of sensei's.
I knew it would take most of my chakra, but this opponent had a dangerous ability. Lightning Style False Darkness.
It took a second to build up and then a large beam of lightning shot out and hit my opponent. I could see his skin peeling and blackening as my jutsu hit him.
After a couple of moments, I released my jutsu, breathing heavily. Wiping the sweat from my forehead. To my surprise, that jutsu only took about a third of my chakra.
Seems my intense training to build up my reserves is bearing fruit. I walk towards my now clearly dead opponent.
I hold my breath though. I remove a sealing tag from my pouch and let it drop onto the body. That's when I activate it.
A sealing formula quickly spreads over the corpse and once it's done, the body quickly turns to ash along with the tag. I sigh and walk towards my teammates.
Normal POV
When I return to my team, I see that despite Neji looking a bit rumpled and Naruto's lip being busted, they're fine.
I smile. " Well well, it seems your training is paying dividends. Tell me about your fights as we head back. "
As we travel and they regale me with the run downs of their battles, a warm feeling settles inside me. Pride.
