At Cerise Laboratory, Professor Cerise handed Ash, Goh and Leaf three tickets.
"Here they are." Professor Cerise said.
Ash, Goh and Leaf took a ticket from him each and looked at them
"The World Coronation Series?" Goh asked, reading his ticket.
"Yamper?" Yamper asked in confusion.
"Not only that, but finals tickets!" Leaf said in excitement. "That's cool!"
"Isn't it?" Professor Cerise asked with a smile.
"What's cool?" Ash asked, a bit confused.
This caused Goh, Leaf and Professor Cerise to drop down to the floor, while Mr Mime shrugged.
"Wait Ash, you really have no idea?!" Goh asked in disbelief.
Ren showed them an image of a huge stadium on the halo screen, which Ash looked at in amazement.
"Up until now, each region has had it's own league or championship, each with it's own champion." Ren explained.
"But at the World Coronation Series, they choose the top trainer from everyone around the world." Chrysa continued.
"That is really cool!" Ash exclaimed with a big smile.
"And these are for the finals!" Goh told him, gesturing to the ticket in his hands. "Tickets to the big showdown!"
"Then… then…" Ash said, unable to come up with a sentence.
"That means we'll get to see the world's best Pokémon battle for ourselves!" Leaf finished for him.
"Exactly." Professor Cerise agreed.
"Wow!" Ash gasped in amazement.
"Pika!" Pikachu remarked.
"It takes place in the Galar region." Professor Cerise told the Research Trio. "And there are things that will happen it that stadium that will awe and impress you! I want you to go and take in everything you possibly can!"
"Great! Thanks, Professor!" Ash said kindly. "I can hardly wait!"
"And while I'm there, I'll catch tons of Pokémon!" Goh stated.
"Scorbun!" Scorbunny added.
"And I'll do the same thing!" Leaf said confidently.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur said with a smile.
"Right! So let's take off for the Galar Region!" Ash said cheerfully.
"World Coronation Series, let's go!" Goh cheered.
"So, let's all go and catch our flight!" Leaf stated.
Pikachu, Scorbunny and Bulbasaur cheered along with them.

Later, Ash, Goh and Leaf were riding a plane that was taking them to the Galar Region.
"I can't wait!" Ash said excitedly as he looked at the setting sun out the window.
"Pikachu." Pikachu said.
The voice speakers activated from the cockpit activated.
"We have just entered Galar region airspace." The flight attendant said.
"Alright!" Goh said with a smile. "Won't be long now!"
"Soon, we're gonna be in Galar again!" Leaf stated.
Suddenly all of the lights turned off, much to everyone's surprise.
All of the passengers started getting worried.
"Everyone please remain calm and remain seated with your seatbelts fastened." The flight attendant instructed.
Pikachu looked out the window and saw something.
"Pika pika!" Pikachu exclaimed as Ash followed his gaze.
"What's wrong?" Goh asked.
"Something's out there!" Ash replied.
"Huh?" Goh and Leaf asked.
The two of them, Scorbunny and Bulbasaur saw nothing.
"I don't see anything." Goh said.
"Me either." Leaf added.
"It's coming!" Ash told them. "I can feel it!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said firmly.
Suddenly, something huge flew beside the plane inside the clouds, causing Ash, Goh, Leaf and their Pokémon to gasp in shock.
Pikachu's tail started sparking as the Mouse Pokémon growled, sensing something evil about whatever was in the clouds.
"Pikachu." Ash said in surprise.
The huge creature then flew away and all the lights turned back on.
Ash held Pikachu in his hands.
"Pikachu, are you okay?" Ash asked.
"Pika." Pikachu replied.
"But whatever we passed by, what was it?" Goh asked Ash.
"It was a Pokémon!" Ash answered.
"I thought so." Goh confirmed. "It had real power, for sure!"
"Scorbun." Scorbunny said softly.
"Do you think it was a Legendary Pokémon?" Leaf asked.
"Probably." Ash admitted. "Really gets the old blood pumping, doesn't it? Just think of all that mystery, and it's in the Galar region, waiting for us!"
"Yeah, it's really got my blood pumping, too!" Goh stated as he nuzzled with Scorbunny.
"And mine!" Leaf said sweetly as she stroked Bulbasaur on the head.
The plane then arrived at the airport and landed.

Later, Ash, Goh and Leaf rode a bus to the stadium and arrived at Wyndon.
Ash got off the bus and opened his arms wide open.
"Hey there, Galar region!" Ash said loudly. "I'm back again!"
"Pikachu!" Pikachu said cheerfully.
Goh and Leaf then got off and joined Ash.
"You haven't seen Wyndon in a while." Goh said to Scorbunny.
"Scor!" Scorbunny said with a big smile.
"Hey Goh, which way is the stadium?" Leaf asked.
"There. Right in front of your faces." Goh answerd as he looked the other way.
Ash, Leaf, Pikachu and Bulbasaur looked at their right and saw nothing but a wall.
"Uh, where?" Ash asked.
"I don't see anything." Leaf said, confused.
Goh chuckled and directed their heads upwards.
"Look up." He told them.
Ash and Leaf were astonished when they saw how massive Wyndon Stadium was.
"IT'S HUGE!" Ash and Leaf yelled.
They both ran up to the main entrance with Goh while admiring all the amazing sights.
"Awesome! Awesome!" Ash repeated happily. "Awesome!"
"Best place ever!" Leaf cheered.
"This is a great place to catch some Pokémon!" Goh said while laughing.
"Scor!" Scorbunny agreed.
"Hey Goh, we're hitting the stadium!" Ash stated.
"And we're gonna watch the greatest battle ever!" Leaf added.
"Well, I'll be out catching Pokémon." Goh said with his eyes closed.
Ash and Leaf suddenly grabbed Goh by his arms and dragged him up the stairs.
"Not on our watch, you don't!" Leaf told him.
"Come on, hurry!" Ash said impatiently. "Move it!"

Inside the stadium, Ash, Goh, Leaf, Pikachu, Scorbunny and Bulbasaur took their seats.
"Check it out!" Leaf said in awe.
"So many people." Ash said quietly.
"A lot more than I ever imagined." Goh added.
The lights then turned off, meaning the battles was soon going to start.
Ash, Goh and Leaf smiled brightly as four different coloured lights appeared on the battlefield.
"Welcome, everyone!" The Announcer greeted. "It's the moment you've all been waiting for! We're here to witness the world's largest, world's greatest Pokémon battle to determine the world's greatest trainer! Welcome to the World Coronation Series!"
The lights turned back on and fireworks began to appear.
"So, how did we get here?" The Announcer asked. "The Masters Eight, the top trainers ranked by the Pokémon Battle Commission, have entered this competition of high-stakes battling so that they may vie for the much-coveted title of Monarch! But who, you may wonder, are our two finalists?"
A light then shined on the Dragon type member of the Kanto Elite Four, Lance.
"First up, I introduce to you… Lance!" The Announcer announced.
"Alright, it's Lance!" Ash remarked.
"Representing the Kanto region!" Goh added.
"He'll win for sure!" Leaf said confidently.
"One of the Kanto League's Elite Four and winner of the prestigious Elite Four Cup, Lance then went on to emerge victorious from the trainer's ultimate dream, the Pokémon World Tournament in Driftveil City!" The Announcer said. "Lance showed his attack skills as a member of the Pokémon G-men! His use of Dragon type Pokémon has been described as battling art! A world-class trainer with world-class Pokémon! I am now pleased to introduce our other finalist."
Another light appeared on the other side and a man with long dark-blue hair and a cape with a bunch of logos on it walked onto the field.
The audience cheered loudly for him.
"It's Leon!" The Announcer introduced. "Born and raised in Galar and known for winning the Galar Champion Cup on his very first try in battles that weren't even close! One who has never tasted defeat! A trainer who takes on challengers, even once taking on a hundred challengers from throughout the world and beating every single one of them! The king of the kingdom! The superstar of Galar! The undefeated champion, Leon!"
The lights shined brightly and Leon and Lance took their places.
"And now, Lance and Leon have taken their positions on the battlefield." The Announcer said.
"It won't be long now." Goh stated.
Ash and Leaf nodded in agreement.
The Referee showed up while riding an Aegislash.
"We will now begin the final match of the World Coronation Series!" The Referee announced. "Will both trainers come forth?"
Lance and Leon stepped forward.
"The battle will be a single match." The Referee said. "A trainer wins when the opposing trainer's Pokémon cannot continue."
"I've seen your previous battles." Lance said to Leon. "I can tell that you're a trainer with considerable skill. That's why I imagined that you'd be the one to eventually join me here."
"Are you able to feel it, Lance?" Leon asked with a bow, much to Lance's confusion. "To witness the tense, still air on the pitch, the opposite from the audience, cheering and yelling. Both fantastic, wouldn't you say?"
Lance smirked in response.
"But remember, the audience is also a bit cruel." Leon reminded. "They want nothing more than to see one of us lose, after all! But I love pushing past the fear. I love giving it everything I've got as a trainer! It's the greatest feeling, and I can't get enough of it!"
"You think you've already won." Lance said with a smirk.
"The reason I'm unbeatable is because I learn from every battle I see or take part in." Leon replied. "And today, I'll learn… from my victory!"
"There's no need for words now! We will battle to determine who's stronger!" Lance stated as he brought out his Pokeball.
"Please bring out your Pokémon!" The Referee instructed.
Both Lance and Leon threw their Pokeballs and their chosen Pokémon appeared on the battlefield.
Leon chose his Charizard and Lance chose his Shiny Gyarados.
Ash, Goh and Leaf were amazed when they saw the Red Atrocious Pokémon.
"Incredible!" Leaf squealed.
"Look at the colour of that Gyarados!" Goh stated, amazed.
Ash could only look in awe.
"It's Leon's undefeated ace Pokémon Charizard and, evolved from a gold Magikarp, red Gyarados!" The Commentator said.
Scorbunny was cheering really loudly for both Pokémon, much to Pikachu and Bulbasaur's surprise.
"Battle begin!" The Referee ordered.
"The time has come!" Lance announced.
"Indeed!" Leon agreed. "Let's have a champion time!"
The battle between Leon's Charizard and Lance's Shiny Gyarados began.
"Now Charizard, Flamethrower!" Leon ordered.
Charizard fired Flamethrower.
"Gyarados, counter it with Hyper Beam!" Lance ordered.
Gyarados retaliated by firing Hyper Beam and the two moves collided with each other.
Hyper Beam then powered through the Flamethrower.
"Hyper Beam overpowered that Flamethrower!" The Commentator exclaimed.
"Dodge it!" Leon ordered.
Charizard flew up and avoided Gyarados' Hyper Beam before landing back on the ground.
"I must say Gyarados, it seems you're just as strong as I suspected!" Leon complemented. "Alright Charizard, use Air Slash!"
Charizard flew straight towards Gyarados while it's wing glowed.
"Block it, Gyarados!" Lance ordered.
Charizard fired Air Slash at Gyarados, but the Shiny Atrocious Pokémon threw some rocks and blocked the Flying type attack.
"Look at that!" The Commentator told the audience. "As if the kickback from it's Hyper Beam was nothing, Gyarados moves to block that Air Slash! Oh, that's Lance for ya! His training is on a different level!"
Charizard launched Flamethrower once again.
"Do it!" Ash called out.
"How do you deal with that?" Goh asked.
"Dragon Dance!" Lance ordered.
Ash, Goh and Leaf gasped as Gyarados span around and increased it's strength and speed.
"There it is!" The Commentator said. "Gyarados uses Dragon Dance to boost it's speed and attack strength!"
Charizard's Flamethrower then hit Gyarados on the spot.
"But Flamethrower scores a direct hit!" The Commentator announced.
"We need to get closer!" Lance stated. "Take it down using Aqua Tail!"
Gyarados jumped and hit Charizard with Aqua Tail.
Pikachu, Scorbunny and Bulbasaur gasped on shock as Charizard crashed onto the field.
"That's some power!" Ash complemented.
"Even if Gyarados is hit with Flamethrower, it won't be that effective!" Leaf explained.
"Right!" Goh agreed. "So it took the attack and used Dragon Dance, and that increased it's own speed and power!"
Charizard managed to get up.
"Oh, now that was a super effective attack!" The Commentator said.
"You okay, Charizard?" Leon asked.
Charizard recovered and growled in response.
"Let's follow up!" Lance stated. "Use Ice Fang repeatedly!"
Gyarados' fangs became frozen before it twirled around Charizard and hit it with it's Ice type attack.
"Intense! Gyarados, after enhancing it's power and speed, winds around Charizard in a series of attacks!" The Commentator said.
"Throw it off, Charizard!" Leon ordered. "Then use Fire Spin!"
Charizard escaped Gyarados' assault and surrounded the Atrocious Pokémon in flames.
"Oh! Gyarados is surrounded by Fire Spin and can't move!" The Commentator said to the audience.
"You're kidding!" Goh exclaimed.
"What's Lance gonna do?"
"Gyarados, cut your way out using Aqua Tail!" Lance ordered.
Gyarados used Aqua Tail to put out the flames.
"Yes!" Lance remarked.
Ash, Goh and Leaf watched in amazement.
"Now use Ice Fang!" Lance ordered.
Gyarados charged at Charizard and attempted to attack it with Ice Fang again.
"This is what I've been waiting for." Leon said with a smirk. "Alright Charizard, use Thunder Punch!"
"What?!" Lance said in shock.
Charizard's fists became surrounded in electricity.
"That's an electric type move!" Leaf exclaimed.
"Charizard had it in reserve this whole time!" Goh realised.
Charizard then punched Gyarados into the ground.
"Whoa, that's gotta hurt." The Commentator commented.
"Use Thunder Punch repeatedly!" Leon ordered.
Charizard got ready to use Thunder Punch on Gyarados again.
Pikachu gasped at the sight.
"If Lance let's this go on, then he could lose!" Ash said worriedly.
"Counter with Aqua Tail repeatedly!" Lance ordered.
Gyarados used Aqua Tail to block and both Pokémon began countering each other with their moves.
"That's awesome!" Ash said in awe.
Both Charizard and Gyarados were then sent back to their trainers.
"This battle isn't over yet!" Leon stated as he returned Charizard to it's Pokeball. "I forbid it!"
"Yes, I couldn't agree with you more!" Lance agreed as he returned Gyarados.
"Could the be?" The Commentator asked.
"Alright, Gyarados, ready?" Lance asked.
A strange band on his wrist let out some small red lights that went into the Pokeball.
The Pokeball then grew bigger and glowed bright red, much to the Research Trio and their Pokémon's shock.
"Go Dynamax!" Lance shouted.
He threw the Pokeball and a storm appeared over the stadium before Gyarados appeared from the Pokeball, only it was much more bigger and was surrounded in a red energy.
"There it is! Dynamax Gyarados!" The Commentator announced.
"Dynamax Gyarados." Leaf whispered.
"I had no idea!" Goh gasped. "They use this during battles in Galar?"
"So when Professor Cerise said there'd be things that would amaze us, he really wasn't kidding!" Ash admitted.
"Pika!" Pikachu said quietly.
"Scorbun!" Scorbunny agreed.
"Bulba!" Bulbasaur said in awe.
"Dynamax Gyarados. I like it!" Leon said. "Now I'll show you what Charizard can really do!"
His also had the same band Lance did and used it to make his Pokeball grow as well.
"Gigantamax!" Leon stated as he threw the Pokeball.
Charizard appeared from it and was the same size as Gyarados and was also in a completely different form.
"It's Gigantamax Charizard!" The Commentator exclaimed.
Ash, Goh and Leaf were in awe.
"That's Gigantamax?!" Goh asked, amazed.
"Charizard looks completely different!" Leaf exclaimed with widen eyes.
"So cool!" Ash remarked.
"Pika!" Pikachu gasped in shock.
"Scorbunny!" Scorbunny gawked.
"Bulbasaur!" Bulbasaur nodded.
"This has gone from a normal Pokémon battle to a super powered Dynamax extravaganza!" The Commentator said to the audience.
"Use Max Geyser!" Lance ordered.
Gyarados blasted a huge beam of water at Charizard and made it rain.
"The Water type max move, Huh?" Leon asked. "It seems like something you'd use. Charizard, meet it using Max Lightning!"
Charizard's body generated electricity and caused a huge thundercloud to appear.
"Max Lightning is the Electric type max move!" The Commentator commented.
A Lightning bolt struck down on Gyarados and stopped it from using Max Geyser before it could reach Charizard.
Lance gritted his teeth as an electric terrain covered the battlefield.
"Aiming for super effective hits is the way to victory!" Leon stated, clenching his hand.
"Now, use Max Strike!" Lance ordered.
Gyarados stuck it's tail into the ground and a pulse of energy traced itself towards Charizard.
"Charizard, use Max Airstream!" Leon ordered.
Charizard used Max Airstream to push itself away from Max Strike before it could hit the Gigantamax Flame Pokémon.
"It dodged our attack!" Lance said quietly.
Gyarados was hit by Max Airstream.
"That Max Airstream was a direct hit!" The Commentator said.
"It's a champion time to turn up the heat!" Leon announced. "G-Max Wildfire!"
The flaming wings on Charizard's back launched themselves in the shape of a Phoenix.
"Gyarados, use Max Guard!" Lance ordered.
Gyarados shielded itself as the flaming Phoenix engulfed it.
Ash, Goh, Leaf, Pikachu, Scorbunny and Bulbasaur gasped at the sight.
When the flames disappeared, Gyarados wasn't damaged at all.
"Gyarados protected itself from G-Max Wildfire with Max Guard!" The Commentator exclaimed.
"I wonder…" Leon started as the shield protecting Gyarados disappeared. "Now, get ready for the last act!"
Charizard roared as the Phoenix circled around and hit Gyarados two times before crashing down onto it, causing the Atrocious Pokémon to roar in pain as it collapsed.
"Gyarados!" Lance called out.
Gyarados returned to normal size as the referee floated over to it on his Aegislash and saw that the Water/Flying had fainted.
"Gyarados is unable to battle!" The Referee announced. "So, the winner of this match is Leon!"
The audience cheered loudly.
"And Leon pulls off a stunning victory!" The Commentator announced.
"Now who would've thought that Lance could've lost?" Ash asked in disbelief.
"Charizard, you did very well." Leon praised his ace partner, who returned to normal. "Now you and I are true world Monarchs!"
Charizard roared in response and gave Leon a high five before releasing Flamethrower into the sky.
"That was awesome." Ash gawked.
Pikachu jumped on Ash's shoulder.
"Pika Pika!" The Mouse Pokémon said.
"I was on the edge of my seat just watching it all!" Leaf said with a big smile as Bulbasaur jumped on her shoulder.
"Bulba Bulba!" Bulbasaur remarked.
"Yeah!" Goh agreed. "That Monarch Leon sure is something else isn't he?"
"Scor!" Scorbunny replied, hoping on his trainers shoulder.
"You were amazing." Lance assured Gyarados. "Now get plenty of rest."
He returned Gyarados to it's Pokeball as Leon and Charizard walked over to him.
Both trainers stared at each other in silent before Lance closed his eyes and smiled.
"I guess it's over." He said simply.
Leon held his hand out to Lance and the two of them shook.
"That Dynamaxing was amazing." Leon complemented.
"I previously went on a journey to the Galar region and trained at the Dragon Gym." Lance explained. "Wearing that historic uniform left a deep and lasting impression on me, which is why I wear what I wear now."
"I'd say this is a proud moment for them, too." Leon nodded.
"It's an odd feeling." Lance admitted. "I'm not angry I lost. In fact, I'm happy that I witnessed the rise of a great new Monarch."
"Thank you, Lance." Leon said. "It was a tremendous battle."
Lance rose his and Leon's hands and looked to the crowed.
"Here today, we've witnessed the rise of the greatest Monarch in the world!" Lance announced. "If a trainer has a strong and upstanding nature, their Pokémon will respond! And that's how a trainer grows strong with their Pokémon! As strong as Leon and Charizard!"
"Now, once again, presenting the winner of the World Coronation Series, crowned the strongest in the world, the Monarch, Leon!" The Announcer announced.
Leon did his famous Charizard Pose and the crowd cheered for him.
"So Leon's the strongest Pokémon trainer in the world?" Goh asked.
"That's right." Leaf answerd.
"And I wanna have a battle with him!" Ash stated.
"Pikachu!" Pikachu agreed.
Goh, Leaf, Scorbunny and Bulbasaur gasped in shock after hearing that.
Suddenly, the entire stadium started to shake, causing the Research Trio to loose their balance.

Outside, a Gigantamax Drednaw was on a rampage and had it's head stuck inside the entrance.
