Hello gals, guys and non-binary pals! I wanted to try this so….. here it is! I took it from A Queer Kiwi, an amazing YouTuber. Anyways, today's story is Athena and this is also kind of ironic because I just found out today that this week i.e 25 - 31 October is Ace Awareness Week. I have a belief that Athena is ace because Annabeth describes Athena's relationship with mortal men and the love she feels for them is a connection of brains, according to her, the purest form of love.
I thought it'd be fun and educational to give facts about Asexuality for every day this week. You'll get a few today because I didn't give one yesterday due to me finding out that this week exists only today. Anyways, today's and yesterday's facts:
Someone who's asexual experiences little to no sexual attraction.
Everyone has a different experience with being asexual, and asexuality can mean different things to different people.
Some asexual people don't experience any sexual attraction. That doesn't mean that they can't experience other forms of attraction.
It's possible for asexual people to experience romantic, aesthetic, platonic, emotional, physical or sensual attraction*.
Someone who is demisexual - which some say falls under the asexual umbrella - might only feel sexually attracted to people they have deep romantic relationships with.
Asexuality can be described as a spectrum, with some people experiencing no sexual attraction, others experiencing a little sexual attraction, and others experiencing a lot of sexual attraction.
So, here are today's facts. All facts are taken from this link: health/what-is-asexual#asexuality-celibacy-and-abstinence
*physical or sensual attraction basically means wanting to cuddle, hug, etc.
To all the lovely ace people out there, in and out the closet, you are all amazing people and I love you.
Random question of the day: Have you watched Julie and the Phantoms on Netflix? It is amazing and the songs are such bops.
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson and the Olympians and all related series. They belong to Rick Riordan. I only own the plot. I also do not know how movie theaters work in New York so this is just what I know based on movies I have watched and books I have read. I apologize in advance if there are any mistakes. I also have never been in a relationship and have no idea how couples act, with the exception of movies, in which you can't trust the representation of relationships so, they might not act as a couple.
Okay, so, today, I literally had no idea what to write about. Then, I remembered this headcanon I read where Athena and Poseidon spy on Percabeth when they are on a date at the movie theater and would loudly clear their throats whenever they would try to kiss. And then, this was born. This takes place after TLO. Have a great day and stay safe, my lovely readers ❤️ 3
Athena had a brilliant plan. It was no secret that she detested her daughter's relationship with the 'sea spawn'. However, they both went against her wishes and ignored her warnings by getting together. What her daughter saw in him she did not understand nor did she want to. She was, however, certain that they both would not be a good couple and came up with a plan, which in hindsight, was horrible.
She disguised herself as a mortal teenage girl who was not older than 19 with blonde hair and grey eyes. She looked at herself in the mirror and changed the color of her hair to brown and her eyes to blue. (A/N: Lol. See what I did there? Homage to the Peter Johnson movies aka the-movies-that-shall-not-be-named) She then wore flannel because she would never wear flannel in this form. (A/N: See what I did here too?)
She arrived at the movie theater in which Percy and Annabeth were due to arrive and waited outside under the pretense of waiting for someone else to show up and even checked her phone multiple times along with calling said non-existent person who she was supposedly waiting for and acting frustrated when the 'person' did not pick up in order to make it more believable.
After they arrived, she stood behind them in the line for the movie tickets with an expression she hoped conveyed that she had been stood up. She then bought a ticket to the same movie and went on grumbling about stupid girls who didn't show up when they were supposed to.
She walked into the theater, bought popcorn and then took a seat right behind them. 5 minutes later, the movie started. Throughout the first half an hour of the movie, her daughter was giggling softly at something the 'sea spawn' said and then proceeded to tell him something else, which caused him to chuckle. Then, they both would giggle for a while and then resume to watch the movie quietly.
They then leaned in and were about to kiss when she coughed and sneezed. They looked back at her.
"Sorry." she said. "I think I'm coming down with a cold or so, due to the A/C."
They smiled and turned back towards the movie.
She then found a way to disrupt their kisses throughout the movie and they would look back at her and she would give them responses ranging from 'I'm sorry, I had to clear my throat' to 'I was searching for my ring which fell down and that's why I hit your seats with my body' to 'I'm sorry, you just remind me of how me and the girl who stood me up might have been is she'd shown up' (this one involved fake tears and sniffles).
By the end of the movie, it was pretty clear that they were annoyed at her. So, the next time they tried to interrupt them, they ignored her. To say she was shocked would be an understatement. As they were walking out the movie theater, Percy called out to her.
"Hey Athena!" he said. "Don't you have something better to do than spy on us on our date? You are a goddess after all."
He then waved at her and began to drag a very shocked and confused Annabeth with him.
"How did you know that was my mother?" she heard her ask. "Even I didn't know that she was my mother!"
"Only one person hates my guts that much, Wise Girl." he replied.
"When did you get so smart?"
"I was always smart. You just didn't know that."
With that, they both walked away. 'Huh' Athena thought. 'He was smart. Maybe I underestimated him.' She then teleported to Olympus with her pride deeply hurt.
The end! What'd you think? Leave a review and let me know what you thought and give me a prompt for Artemis, if you have any ideas. I don't really have that much love for Athena because of what she did to Arachne and how she was with Annabeth in MOA. I mean, poor Annabeth and Arachne.
Her biggest flaws was that she said that she was better than Athena at weaving which most probably was true, and then, Athena got jealous and angry, and turned her into a spider! Like what?! She's supposed to be a goddess, a role model.
She is, however, better than most gods in terms of being problematic. I mean, her mother was swallowed when pregnant with her because Zeus was paranoid that she might be a boy and be the new king, smh. This is why Estelle should be protected and hidden from Zeus. Unlike Athena, she's mortal and will die when swallowed by a god. We must form an Estelle Blofis Protection Squad as well, alongside the Nico Di Angelo Protection Squad and the Percabeth Protection Squad. I am a member of all three. Lol.
Happy Ace Week, everyone! Love you all ❤️
