~God Bless! ~Ash Wolf
Another Time skip to the Baseball incident.
I hopped into Jasper's car and sat shotgun.
"Well, Cinna, ready to play ball?" He questioned with his thick Texan accent.
"Yup, I'll just stay far away from the pitching mound. I don't want to get hit by a ball, even if it just grazes me. I don't want to be covered in bruises before I ask Cass out." I muttered.
"Oh, so that's the girl you drew a picture of." Emmett smacked me playfully.
"Shut up! If she had found that, I would get teased to no end. And, not to mention she would never let it go either, unless I did a favor for her." I shuddered visibly.
"If Paul found out, he would KILL ME! " I moaned and shrank in my seat.
"So, make sure he doesn't find out. I don't see how he would mad anyway, it's just her face. It's not like-"
"I'm going to stop you there Emmett. Let's keep this conversation civilized please," Jasper spoke firmly after he saw how red my face was getting.
"Alright, but anyway, I need to talk to you later," Emmett grinned at me.
"Why do I have a feeling it's about Cass?" I asked my eyes narrowing suspiciously.
"It's not about Cass, its about something Rose and I have been talking about for a while now," He admitted and leaned back in his seat.
"Rose and I want to adopt another baby, but we wanted to ask you first. You're still our son, but Rose wants to have more kids and I told her to wait until you were older. Here you are now, older. A young, 15-year-old man..." Emmett's voice trailed off.
"Oh, I don't mind! I would love a little brother or sister." I exclaimed happily. Emmett sighed with relief.
A Few Minutes Later...
I hopped out and wandered over to Esme smiling happily. She wrapped her arm around me.
"Going to play?" I shook my head no.
"Not really, I'm kinda tired." I walked to a safe spot and put some earbuds in and listened to music as I sketched. My family was getting ready to play baseball. Edward and Bella walked over and talked to Esme and I smiled. I'm glad Edward has finally found some who loves him for who he is. I wonder... Alice said that I'll marry Cass, didn't she? Does that mean... Does that mean I'll love Cass the way Emmett loves Rose?
"Hey, Cinna?" Bella asked, standing in front of me.
"Yeah?" I answered tugging out one of my buds.
"I was wondering who adopted you when you were a baby?" She sat down on the log, waiting for them to say that they're ready to start.
"Oh, Rose and Emmett. Rose found me in the woods, not too far away from La Push, apparently." I spoke quietly.
"Oh. Anyway, your sketches are so cool! Where did you learn to draw?" She asked softly.
"I've always had this talent withdrawing, it's just my thing. I draw outfits too, but I left that sketchbook at home." I shrugged and I watched in surprise as Bella took one of my pencils and wrote a note on the page.
You're an awesome artist Cinna! Don't ever stop and don't be so nonchalant about your talents. ~Bella
"Hey, Bella? We're ready to start! We need you to be the umpire since Cinna isn't feeling well." Esme smiled at the both of us, and Bella got up and brushed her pants off.
"Sure thing, see you later Cinna." Bella walked away with Esme and I sighed before putting my earbuds in. I could hear the rumble of thunder and the sound of the bat hitting the ball, over my music. After a few minutes, they all stopped. Something was wrong. I immediately sprang to my feet and walked over to where they were all standing, feeling extremely nervous.
"They were leaving but they heard us playing and turned back." Alice sounded panicked.
"It's alright Alice, it's not your fault. Bella put your hair down, Esme switch jackets with Bella. It'll mask her scent." Edward spoke freaking out.
"Like that'll do anything, I can smell her from across the field." Snarked Rose.
" What should I do?" I asked nervously.
"Don't worry about it Cinna. You don't smell too appealing honestly," Jasper spoke softly and stepped in front of me, as Bella shrank backward and hid behind Edward. I sucked in a deep breath and calm myself down. It wasn't long before three vampires approached the baseball field. My family walked forward prepared to fight.
There were two men and one woman. The one in the middle had black dreadlocks that went past his shoulder and he held the baseball in his right hand. The man on the left had dirty blonde hair that was tied back, and he kept his graze on me and Bella and I shivered in fear. The woman was on the right and had red hair that went past her shoulders, I couldn't see how long it was from the angle I was at. Emmett shifted closer to me. The man in the middle spoke.
"I believe this belongs to you," He tossed the ball to Carlise and he caught it easily.
"Thank you," Carlise spoke.
"I am Laurent, this is Victoria, and James," He introduced the coven calmy.
"I'm Carlise and this is my family," He glanced around at Bella and me since we stood in line next to Edward. Making sure that they knew that were apart of the family,
"Hello," Laurent smiled directly at me and Edward shifted towards me protectively.
"We're afraid that your hunting activities have caused something of a mess for us," He replied calmly.
"Our apologies, we didn't realize that the territory had been claimed," Laurent eyed me cautiously his nose wrinkling for a brief second.
"Yes well, we maintain a permanent residence nearby," Carlise's face was tense as he said this. Laurent glanced at James in surprise.
"Really? Well, we won't be a problem anymore, we were just passing through."
"The humans were tracking us, but we led them East. You should be safe." Victoria whispered the last part, smirking and chills went down my spine as I realized something. She was the vampire from the nightmare I had when I was sick. Edward's eyes widened for a brief second before continuing his staredown with James.
"Excellent," Carlise's smile was forced as he barely nodded his acknowledgment.
"So, could you use three more players?" Asked Laurent chuckling slightly.
"Oh come on. just one game." Laurent was smiling genuinely wanting to enjoy a good baseball game. Carlise sighed before glancing at Bella and me.
"Sure. Why not? A few of us were leaving, you could take their place." Carlise threw the ball at Laurent but Victoria caught it.
"I'm the one with the wicked curveball," She smirked.
"Well, I think we can handle that," Jasper smirked right back.
"Ohh." Laurent chuckled in excitement. Everyone started getting ready, while Edward and James kept doing their staredown and I grabbed a hold of Bella.
"Bella, we need to go," I murmured to her and she nodded but as we turned to walk away, the wind blew rustling her hair and forcing her scent across the field. James inhaled deeply and I froze before I gripped her wrist tightly.
"You brought a snack," James spoke moving forward and Edward smacked Bella into me, and we both fell over. All of my family raced forward hissing loudly, trying to protect Bella and me. I scrambled to my feet pulling Bella up with me.
"A human?!" Exclaimed Laurent in surprise as they went into hunting stances.
"They're with us, I think its best if you leave," Carlise spoke to Laurent making it clear what would happen if they didn't leave now. It was then I realized that Rose was blocking Victoria, Rose's amber eyes flashing dangerously as she stood in front of me.
"I can see the game is over. We'll go now." Laurent had his hands held up in peace as he backed away.
"James," Warned Laurent, and James stood up smirking evilly, his graze never leaving me and Bella. He turned away as he walked and Victoria went straight to his side and James wrapped his arm around her kissing her.
"Get Bella and Cinna out of here!" Ordered Carlise.
I'm leaving you on a cliffhanger. =)
