Chapter 8
Kayla POV
After her family left Kayla was having a small crisis.
"I should go talk to them. Wait no, I shouldn't. If they came all the way up here, mabye they do really want to see me! Or mabye they don't, and just want to tell me how much of a failure of a godess I am! Uggggggg!" Kayla put her head in her hands.
"What do they want!?!?!?"
She went over to the side tables near her couch in the living room. She opened one of the drawers and took out a trinket that vaguely resembled a compass.
"Show me the locations of Will, Austin, and Artemis." She whispered to it.
The trinket started to buzz in her hands before showing three little red dots in the middle of a forest, on a holographic screen.
"*Phew* They're still in the forest." Suddenly the smallest of the red dots froze, then started quickly moving in the other direction.
"Oh, no." Kayla grabbed a bag off the table, and ran out of the house headed for the pass on the other side of the mountains.
She was mear meters from the edge of the forest, when three figures came running out on the other side of the mountains.
They ran to her house, and opened the door slightly, which was still ajar from her quick departure.
She turned around slightly, just in time to catch her Aunts eye. Then she ran, into the forest.
"Kayla!" She heard Austin call from behind her.
"Kayla, stop!" Will called, his voice getting fainted as she got farther away. She was the godess of Atheletics for a reason. "We just want to talk to you!" He screamed.
Oh, no. She knew this path, she had taken a wrong turn, and was now going to be trapped, oh for the love of Kronos!
She turned around just as her family caught up with her.
"Whatt is your deal?" Will panted.
"My 'deal' is that you refuse to leave me alone! I know I'm a failure of a godess, but did you really need to come chasing after me to say it!" Kayla turned her head away from them.
"What!?" All three of them said.
"Dear... your not a faliure... by any means!" Artemis stepped forward, and put a hand on the panicking godesses shoulder.
"Really, then why did you come all the way out here!"
The three looked at each other, Austin sighed. "Kayla... Dad's going to come back."
Kayla went rigid. "What." She said in a small voice, tears started to form at the edges of her eyes.
"It's true, on the summer solstice, - which's tomorrow - if we go to Greece, we'll be able to find him!" Will exlaimed.
"Really..." Kayla whispered tears starting to run down her face.
"Yes..." Artemis whispered, stepping forward, and pullong her only living neice into a hug.
"Let's go get him..." Austin whispered, joinning the hug.
"Finally we'll be a family again." Will added, also joinning in the group embrace.
They were off...
off to find Apollo.
