Takumi thought that the best part of everyday was dusk.

There were so many reasons why he loved that short time of the day, but the biggest reason had to be one of the most recent.

He thought that was when Soma looked the best.

Of course, that man always looked handsome in Takumi's eyes. But it was when he was against the light of the setting sun that he transcended that word. His wild hair, already naturally bright, would look like it was on fire. His golden eyes would shine even brighter against the light. When those sights paired with his genuine laughs, Takumi had to remind himself that this was not a god he was talking.

Though by the way Soma held the power of the sun in both his body and soul, the blond had doubts about his logic.

"Man, you have it bad." Isami would whisper to him when he would stare too long at the First Seat doing…well…anything.

"I do." Takumi had grown tired of denying this. It was obvious to all their friends that he pined for the psudeo-sun god. Well, almost all their friends. The only exception was Soma himself, but that was how he always was.

"You should tell him." His brother and their friends would say. But each time Takumi would just shake his head sadly. The sun was a being that would shine for others while doing its own thing. Never has it considered the feelings of the people that it shines on, too content with their own goals. Same could be said for Soma, who had many admirers but did not return their feelings.

In the end, Takumi decided that he was just fine watching Soma throughout the day. Sure, he wasn't too happy about it, as he wanted to be by his side. But watching him from a distance hurt less than being burned.

The weeks turned into months. The seasons changed from the soft cherry blossoms falling on the ground to the hard grass crunching under each step. Yet, neither the sunsets nor Soma failed to lose their beauty.

And Takumi never failed to be amazed by either.

He was glad that Soma invited him over to the dorms so often for challenges. This way, he was able to see him in his best lighting and have semi-intimate moments while he rode as a passenger on his motorbike.

This evening was like any other evening. They rode on the bike to Polar Star, the motor quiet enough to have a conversation but loud enough to mask the sound of Takumi's heartbeat that still to the day hammered when he was this close to his crush. If Soma noticed the color of his cheeks during the short walk from the bike storage to the front doors, he could blame it on the cold December air instead of the sight of the nearly unearthly teen in the sunset. He was so entranced by Soma that he did not miss the way a chuckle escaped his lips.

"Heh. Looks like they put it up already."

At Takumi's questioning hum, the redhead pointed to something above the doorframe. There, a red and green bundle swayed gently in the wind.

"A mistletoe…?" Takumi trailed off. His face started to turn redder before he finished his next thought. He was under the mistletoe with Soma! Soma, the person he had a crush on for more than a year.

But he mentally kicked himself. There was no one else here. There was absolutely no reason for them to kiss. They could just ignore it and continue on with their evening.

But, as Takumi glanced at the teen who currently had fire in his hair and the sun in his eyes, he felt very reckless.

"Soma?" He waited just long enough for the redhead to look back at him before pulling him into a kiss. It was clumsy because of the suddenness, but he didn't mind it.

Takumi was kissing the sun.

And dio, was it hot.

He pulled away, finally realizing the consequences that his actions may have caused. However, Soma started to laugh, the sound adding to the beauty he was already surrounded in.

"Damn, Takumi. I really wanted to be the one to kiss you first, but you beat me to it."
